  • Random "The Microsoft Exchange Administrator has made a change that requires you quit and restart Outlook" message

I've looked and looked again and cannot find any solution to this issue...There are plenty of posts related to this error message however none of the resolutions work for me.
We have a cluster of 3 MS Exchange Server 2010 SP2 RU2 machines with CAS, HT and Mailbox roles installed on all 3. Those 3 machines form a DAG and are behind a CAS Array. This is done using a pair of  Riverbed
    Stingray Traffic Manager appliances.
The above error message keeps popping up randomly on my users' workstations running Outlook 2010 with cache mode enabled (Outllok 2007 users do not have this issue). It pops up when nothing is being done to the platform...i.e. I'm not moving any mailboxes,
not activating nor suspending any mailbox databases, not updating the rpcclientaccessserver attribute on any databases (that property is configured correctly on all my databases...). We have SP2 RU2 installed which means that the message should only pop up
    if the conditions in
THIS ARTICLE are observed and none of them are when our users see the message...
Next thing on my elimination process is the load balancers...I've read about some admins having this issue when using Barracuda LBs for their CAS array (see
this thread). I thought about session persistence settings not working properly but after some testing I figured out it doesn't make any difference if I use 'Source IP' or 'Cookie Based' as my persistence method for various services (OWA, MAPI, etc). The
end users still see the message popping up randomly. Can anyone confirm Source IP is better? Or shall I stick with Cookie based for OWA services? Also I'm offloading SSL on the load balancers but I fail to see how this would be a problem. It's configured OK
as per MS' SSL offloading guidance.
Those users use Public Folders and my PF store reside on one of our servers only (as we are in a DAG). Because we have all 3 roles installed on all 3 servers, users can potentially connect to either 3 (if we assume that session persistence is not working
properly). Could this be an issue?
The pop ups are so random that I'm running out of ideas on how to troubleshoot this...
Has anyone got any idea at all?
Other things I've tried or checked:
    - tested Outlook connectivity OK
    - modified pool and service settings on my load balancers to check if those triggered the pop up, to no avail (only when I switch the main virtual IP from one traffic manager to the other the message pops up, but that is to be expected!)
    - tried disabling the 'show Exchange messages' option on the client side (which is obviously not ideal...but the pop up still occurs anyway)
    Regards, Raphael

I have left a laptop on for a number of days with a test account logged in to Outlook 2010 (with modified hosts file to bypass the load balancers, e.g. always hit the same node). The message never popped up. This can certainly be a clue however unfortunately
it doesn't 100% mean that the issue comes from the LBs as some users get the message randomly with sometimes more than 2 weeks apart...
Another thing that we thought maybe a problem is we have noticed that this problem occurs more for people with laptops with both Ethernet and Wifi adapters plugged in at the same time. Those users un-dock their laptop to go to a meeting for example, and
the wireless connection kicks in, then dock it back in to their docking station and the wireless connections stays on, as well as their Ethernet one. This sometimes changes the state of their Outlook connection status from TCP/IP to HTTPS and vice versa. This
also depends on if the office LAN is running slow or not at the time. But surely I would have thought switching client IP address all the time may be an issue? Does anyone know if this could be a problem when connecting to a CAS Array/DAG Exchange platform?
On the other hand I have tested having both connections on on that test laptop and the message never popped up. But yet again I was bypassing the load balancers.
Their RPC over HTTPS Exchange Proxy Settings are all set with:
    - On fast networks connect using HTTP first then TCP/IP - disabled
    - On slow networks connect using HTTP first then TCP/IP - enabled
I have a case open with our load balancer vendor and their Exchange expert is supposed to get in touch with me to review all the settings and Exchange config. I'll update this ticket if we can find more clues, or ideally, a solution to this issue!
    Hi Greg,
I do face the same problem - running two node E14 SP2 RU2 DAG after moving 2600 mailboxes last weekend. We bypass the F5 already - still the same issue using Outlook 2003/2007/2010 clients where randomly choosen ones do get the restart outlook message (at
least we couldn't find a pattern). Also clients with mailboxes moved three weeks ago are affected. Both E14 multirole (C/H/M) have a replica for PF. There is one Exchange 2003 two cluster node left with around 350 mailboxes. Could it be caused by some sort
    of Outlook Add-In?
    many thanks
tiZ.A: Thanks for giving me some sanity back :-) I'm not the only one to whom this happens! do you know that moving mailboxes between databases is one of the legitimate reasons why this message would pop up for? (ref: http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2011/01/24/3411868.aspx)
The strange thing is that for you it doesn't seem to happen for ALL your mailbox users, but just random ones? Also we only have noticed this issue with Outlook 2010 clients ONLY. No 2003/2007 ones.

  • How can I most quickly delete a large number of outlook messages from my iphone?

How can I most quickly delete a large number of outlook messages from my iphone?

If the email account is an exchange or IMAP account that you access with Outlook on your computer, delete the email with Outlook which will remove the email from your iPhone.

  • How to spawn email client window (e.g., Outlook message)?

I'd like to have a button that, if pressed, will spawn an email with subject, to, body, and other info filled in. For example, if I use Outlook, it would spawn an Outlook message window with everything I want filled in. Is this possible with the standard API? How about with something like JavaMail?
    Thanks!

    [email protected]

    hi,
JavaMail as such provides the functionality of a MUA (Mail user agent) the idea is that it takes care of things such as getting mail, sending mail etc (it does not worry about protocol etc).. Now if you have to create a GUI like Outlook you would have to do it using Swing and you will use JavaMail for doing the actual job of sending the mail, receiving mail etc..
so a theoritical stack could be for eg
Swing GUI (top layer, GUI like outlook)
JavaMail (middle layer MUA, takes care of sending/ receiving mails )
SMTP / POP / IMAP (lower layer, actual protocol through which mail is sent / received)
    hope that helpz

  • How to View Outlook Messages in Timezone different from the Systems Time.

    Hi Team,
My Name is Abhishek. I am from India.
I just want to know one thing related to MS Outlook 2007 Version.
To deal with Hongkong customers and to work in database we have kept the systems time as HongKong Time (GMT + 07: 30) in my official Laptop.
So. when I receive any email in the Inbox it shows the message received time in Hong Kong Time which is the systems Time right now.
But As I stay in India, I just want to see my all Outllook received Messages in Indian Time (GMT + 05: 30), without disturbing the systems time.  I just get confused when I receive any email and it shows in systems Hong Kong Time.
Is it possible to change my outlook message receiving display time to Indian time without disturbing my systems time...If so, pls help me by telling the procedure how to do it...
    Thanking You
    Abhishek

    Hi Abhishek:
    There are no
Daylight saving time for  HongKong Time Zone and also for the Indian Time, so the checkbox will be greyed out.
    As
Nezer mentioned above: “Adjusting the time zone in outlook also alters the system time, I think outlook is design to always mirror the time zone of you system clock.” We couldn’t change
    this within Outlook.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • PC Sync was unable to locate your Outlook message ...

I recently installed PC suite on my PC.  I am trying to sync with Outook MS exchange.  So far, I have been unable to do so.  I receive a "PC Sync was unable to locate your Outlook message store" error message.  By searching this board, it appears that this is a fairly common problem.  I have tried several of the workarounds discussed here:
    1) unisntall / re-install software - no luck
    2) create another mail profile - no luck
    3) sync to non MS exchange Outlook datafiles - no luck
At this point, I'm thinking of giving up on ever getting PC suite to work.
    A few details:
    E71x phone
    PC suite 7.1.40.1
The PC has Outlook 2003 and I use an MS exchange mail server
I have never had any nokia products on it prior to my attempts.
Connecting via USB (no errrors or problems reported with this)
Does anyone have a bonafide solution for this?  This really sounds like buggy software to me.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

OK, since I haven't seen an answer to this problem, I decided to dig further.
    1) Nokia makes another software called OVI suite.  It is supposed to replace PC Suite
    2) I went to the nokia usa website.  No compatability is lised for the E71x.
    3) When I went to the europe site, there was so I downloaded v2.0 from there
    4) installed it and it works great!  Can sync to outlook using MS Exchange
In short, dump your PC suite and go to get OVI Suite.  For some reason, more phones are listed as compatabile if you download it from the europe site here: http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/nokia-ovi-suite

  • When I use "Email link" in Firefox, the Outlook message default formatting changes (font, font size, paragraph spacing) - how can I stop this from happening?

In Outlook, my default message format includes the following:
    Font: Arial 10pt font
    Spacing: Before: 0pt, After: 0pt
When I email a link from Firefox, a new message opens, which has the following formatting:
If I type anything before the URL, the formatting is:
    Font: Arial 10pt font
    Spacing: Before: 0pt, After: 0pt
If I type anything after the URL, the formatting is:
Font: Times New Roman 12pt font
    Spacing: Before: Auto, After: Auto
This doesn't happen with Internet Explorer - when emailing a link, my default message format is retained.
Since I email a lot of links for my job, and I prefer to use Firefox, this is a pretty annoying issue!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Michelle
    Outlook 2007
    Firefox 36.0.4

From Firefox, I click on "File' and then 'Email link'.
This results in a new Outlook message opening automatically, with the URL copied into the body of the message.
I then add my own text, see the screenshot image. That's where the formatting problems come in!
    Cheers,
    Michelle

  • Trex is not indexing Outlook messages .msg

    Hi Everybody,
Does anyone know why TREX is not indexing .msg (Outlook mail) files?
In [Help.sap.com|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/55/cb634114b78047e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm] it says it should be supported...
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance,
    Fede

    Thanks Raghu!
    You solved my problem!!
    The definitive solution was:
In portal (SysAdm > SysConf > KM > CM > Utilities > MIME Types) I've added this settings:
    Name "msg"
    Default Extension ""
    Extension "msg"
    Locale ""
    MIME Type "application/vnd.ms-outlook"
    Resource Bundle File ""
    Resource Key ""
In <disk_drive>:\usr\sap\trex_<instance_number>\TREXValidMimeType.ini, I've added the following rows:
    application/vnd.ms-outlook
    message/rfc822
Now TREX is indexing .msg outlook files!
    Thanks Again,
    Fede

  • Cant' convert outlook messages to pdf

I am trying to convert outlook messages to pdf. The first message converts fine. Every subsequent message fails to convert. The progress bar starts and then quickly disappears. I have to close and open outlook to convert messages to pdf messages again. I am using Acrobat Standard 7 and Outlook 2003 on windows xp.

    Hi TisaMarisa,
The PDFMaker may have been disable in your Outlook.
    To enable it open Outlook.
Click on > Tools > Trust Center
Choose Add-Ins in the list on the left side of the Trust Center window. Choose Disabled Items in the Manage pop-up menu at the bottom of the Trust Center window. Click Go.
Look in the Disabled Items list for Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Add-In.
If Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Add-In is in the list, then select it, click Enable, and click Close. Then close and reopen the Office 2007 application.
Hope this will resolve your issue.

  • Right way to reinstall OS 9.2.1-9.2.2 update & SAVE OUTLOOK MESSAGES etc

I have now an original OS 9.2.1 CD to make the reistallation of the system on a Powerbook G3 (Wallsteet 266 Mhz, HD 4Gb) already equipped with 9.2.2.
    - Once having installed the 9.2.1, it's enough to download the 9.2.2 update I see in 'Apple Support', install it, and that is all?
    - In Mac HD>Applications>Apple Extra on my Powerbook there is a folder 'Mac OS 9.2.2 updating', that contains several elements among which 'Update to Mac OS 9.2.2': I opened it and it seems to be what needs to install 9.2.2. Could have it been left there by the people who previously installed it on the computer? Can I use it directly to reinstall 9.2.2?
    - Of course I will backup all my files, but what to do exactly to save my Outlook mail messages (they are thousands) and my Explorer favourites, and what to do exactly to have them available again, once having reinstalled the system?
    - what to do if I want also to import all messages, addresses, accounts, etc, from the Wallstreet to another Powerbook, either in another Outlook or in Entourage or in Mail?
    Thank you for any help.

Assuming you mean Outlook Express, Entourage and later OE versions store their messages, etc, in the Microsoft User Data at the top level of your Documents folder.
Simply copying that folder, making your new installations, copying MSUD back then Restarting will feed the old data to new configuration... (Please remember, MSUD from the new configuration must be Trashed before the old data can be copied back)
In Explorer use File>Export Favorites to put them somewhere safe before the update, then pull them back with File>Import Favorites…
When you want also to import all messages, addresses, accounts, etc, to another Powerbook that depends whether you're simply trying to replace what's on the target Mac with the data from the source Mac, or merge two sets of data.
To simply replace what's on the target Mac with the data from the source Mac, as above copy the entire MSUD…
To fully merge two Outlook or Entourage data sets is certainly not possible if the source data contains mugshots or user-defined Categories. Mail and iCal might fully Import OE or Entourage messages and Calendar events but I don't believe Address Book will swallow all their contact details, and you may also be thwarted by other things I don't know about.
Beside the formal Export-Import method, you can drag and drop Entourage messages, complete mail folders, calendar events and contacts into Finder folders.
Messages and mail folders can then be dragged into any other open Entourage.
Calendar events become .ICS files and contacts become .VCF cards which will automatically join Entourage on a new host once they're double clicked open…
