Replace Battery in Droid Mini

Having trouble with a Droid Mini's battery life. Purchased it September 2013; battery life is now about a quarter of what it was.
In the past, I have simply replaced the battery and solved the problem. I cannot seem to find any adequate guides or videos showing how to replace the battery in the Droid Mini. I called customer support and after 55 minutes they ensured me there was nothing wrong with the phone. I manage all applications and tasks and have reset the phone, but nothing helps. Please help, still 9 months until I can upgrade.

Unfortunately the only videos I've found on the web, regarding this battery
replacement, seem to umbrella the Mini, Ultra, and Maxx under the same
group.
The problem is that the Mini is totally different once you get that back
cover off. I can see those videos helping Ultra and Maxx users, but it
doesn't help me. Perhaps you found one in your searches that actually
involves a Mini; if so, please link!
Thanks,
Geoff

  • Where do I buy a replacement battery for a MacBookPro6,2

After 1504 cycles, the "Replace Soon" warning has shown up on my mid-2010 MacBook Pro. I am 100% capable of replacing the battery myself, however I can't find anywhere on Apple's website to buy the replacement battery. All it says is to bring it in for them to replace which is not an option for me at this time.
Does anyone have a SPECIFIC recommendation on where to buy a GENUINE replacement battery for my model? And please don't say "ebay" or "amazon".
Here are the specs on my model: http://support.apple.com/kb/SP582

Apple insists on installing the batteries in unibody MBP's them selves and will NOT sell you the battery otherwise.  Your alternative is to make an appointment or ship the MBP to them.
Yes, it is easy to install the battery.  I have taken mine out a couple of times.
    Ciao.
I'm looking for a non-Apple, non-ebay, non-amazon source for the battery. My Macbook Pro is in use 12+ hours per day for school and work so sending it in for a replacement is also not an option. So strange how it's impossible to find this battery for sale from an online retailer. Macmall, OWC, MacConnection, PowerMax, SmallDog... nobody sells them. :-(

  • HP Mini 110 battery on 2133 Mini-Note

Is it possible to put battery from HP Mini 110 on 2133 Mini-Note??
Thanks in advance on every comment.

    Hello,
I have a similar issue with battery charging.
HP Battery check tool was showing for old battery status: Replace (40), Current State: Charging (0%)
So I have purchased new battery...
Now HP Battery check shows same for the new battery:
    Replace (40),Current State: Charging (0%)
Computer is HP Mini 110 3010sq
BIOS is updated and computer is working fine with AC adaptor plugged, but shuts dow immediatelly after disconnecting it from AC adaptor.
I have noticed status for "cell voltage 4" is 0 mV for both batteries.
What could be the problem here?
    Any support is appreciated.

  • Flaw in Droid Mini?

So all of the collateral says that the Droid Mini has a standard TFT screen, where the Moto X, Droid Ultra/Maxx have AMOLED. If the Droid Mini still supports the Active Display, this is going to destroy the battery as TFT screens require the entire backlight to fire even for a single pixel, whereas AMOLED allows each pixel to light independently. Can anyone comment on this?

I think that the 11 of them that were ordered and built  , 9 were defective...

  • Anyone else waiting for a Macbook replacement battery?

My battery packed up on the 6th August and I rang Apple Care on the 7th August. They said that they would send out a new battery. After waiting a week I rang them again and the person I spoke to couldn't understand why it hadn't been shipped to me as it was in stock. He said that he would re-submit the replacement battery order for me. A week latter it still hadn't arrived so I rang again and this time I was told that it was out of stock and wouldn't get supplies until latter this week (24th or 25th of August). However, I just looked in the online Apple store and it says that it they available for 24 hour shipping. Is anyone else waiting for a replacement battery in the UK?
    iMac G4 15" flat screen : MacBook 1.83 (Tiger)   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

It took me about 2-3 weeks for a replacement to be available from the apple reseller. from where i am the apple distributor is from singapore and apparently there have been a lot of warranty exchanges. initially they said 1 week but it eventually got mine in about 21/2 weeks. well i just got it lets see if it works and lasts!

  • RESULT - Free Replacement Battery from Apple UK

    Hi to All,
Like a lot of you I had problems with my battery. I noticed earlier this year my MBP would power-off when there was still lots of battery charge left. It gradually got worse and worse. A few months ago I noticed whenever I pulled the power cord out it would switch off and recently I can only use it when it's plugged in.
I read about the battery problems online, and on this forum. I discovered it was a very common problem. I had assumed there was nothing I could do other than buy a new battery, but after reading posts from some of you who have had success getting a replacement one I thought I'd call Apple. Nothing to lose other than cost of phone call. To be honest I wasn't expecting to get any joy as I bought my MBP in May 2006.
I spoke to a overly-friendly guy in Bangalore who kept saying "Don't worry, don't worry. I will sort this out for you". He took my details and serial number etc.. then kept putting me on hold as he spoke to his 'supervisor'. After 15 mins he explained that my battery's serial no. is one that qualified for the replacement programme - but that only applied up to 2 years after purchase. As mine is 30 months old, he had to do some arm twisting and they made an exception for me. He transferred me to a woman in Scotland who gave me a case number etc.. She then passed me onto a dispatch guy.
After 20 mins on the phone my free replacement battery is on it's way. Not sure if I've just been very lucky on this occasion, but I would recommend calling Apple Support wherever you are, before going ahead and forking out for a new battery.

Hmm... Newer Technologies' reseller list includes OWC/esales but they
are not the same; one is a reseller and the other is a manufacturer. A
few product names at OWC are not seen anywhere else unless you look
real hard, but Newer Tech and NuPower can be bought direct from Newer
Technologies online; and a reseller could contact them to carry their stuff.
In any event, if just the plastic is mal-formed, and the section not fitting up
is just a layer of white plastic, that'd be comparatively easy to change. If
nothing else, Apple should have a shorter waiting list on replacement cells
now the recall numbers have been going out to customers. I got mine after
about a two month wait; and after all that waiting, I've gotten over the need
    to use a portable computer. It just sits there and I have to hassle with it;
to keep it charged up and up to date. With winter here, I don't carry it while
travelling anywhere, it'd freeze too easily over the distances I have to go!
Did Newer Tech offer to refund monies and take back these odd batteries?
Have you contacted other battery sales sources for comparative products?
The quality and support plus warranty (and fit, finish, compatibility)
    are all important details.
Some cheap replacements could be dangerous and not suited for use in
the iBook or PowerBook they are intended to replace. I see some at
places like amazon afiliate stores, and wonder what they really are inside.

  • Replacement battery iPhone 4s

Can anyone advise me where Can I get a GENUINE Apple replacement battery for an iPhone 4s?
I am and electronics engineer and well qualified to fit my own battery. I am reluctant to use a 3rd party battery or let Apple charge me £70 to do a 5 min job. The Apple store in Sheffield say take it to a retailer and let them do it (£70), but they won't sell me the battery. The Phone is out of warranty.
    Thanks

That would be because Apple does not sell parts. Any "OEM" iPhone parts for sale would either be counterfeit or, at best, salvaged from old iPhones. Sorry it was a lesson you had to learn the hard way.
    Best of luck.

  • Powerbook G4 15" Aluminium replacement battery...

    Hi all,
Just bought a 15" G4 PowerBook Aluminium off a mate, but the battery is history, I've already checked the Battery Replacement Scheme and I don't meet the serial number requirements.
Where can I find a decent replacement battery? I don't want to pay through the nose, willing to pay £30 - £40 is this a reasonable price scale for something decent?
    Hope someone can help!
    Merci Buckets.

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
You can buy a cheap battery off of ebay, however, a number of / many people have been unhappy with the cheap batteries failing or not working well. When I bought a new battery, the comments on Apple's web site, as well as the lack of performance on the replacement batteries suggested looking for an alternative. I ended up with this battery: http://www.thebookyard.com/product.php?products_id=31 (I bought mine in the US). I would recommend it as a solid alternative.

  • Replacing Battery

I have the first generation iPod touch and ive had it for almost a year. I remember when i bought it that the salesperson told me that the battery needs to be replaced after a year becuase its battery life reduces drastically at that point. Does this need to happen?

    Hello,
Actually a typical user will probably find that after 400 charge cycles (a pretty heavy years use - I certainly don't charge mine each day) that the battery still gives 80% of the original capacity.
There's no reason to need to consider to replace the battery until you consider that it's running down too quickly for your needs.

  • Need instructions for replacing battery

    Hey, all.
The "Replace Battery" light is lit on my ONT, and it is (of course) doing that annoying beeping noise.
Since the only way to permanently stop the beeping is to disconnect the battery, I'd like to do that.  Unfortunately, none of the instructions I've seen online, or gotten from Verizon customer service, have applied to my specific ONT model.
I have a Motorola ONT1000GJ2  (Yes, GJ, not GT, I've checked repeatedly).  I *think* the battery is in the upper section of the housing, but I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to get to it.
If anyone has achieved this blessed state of affairs of actually getting to this battery, could you be so kind as to fill me in on how?
    Thanks in advance!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I am providing my own answer to this question, as the community didn't come up with an answer, and Verizon customer "service" (and I use the term extremely loosely in this regard) was the exact opposite of helpful.
Looking at the picture above, on the far right-hand side, there are two recessed hex-screws, one above the other.  To access the battery compartment on this particular model, leave the lower screw tightened, and loosen the upper screw.  Don't worry about it falling out: I'm pretty sure it's a "captive" screw, and so cannot be fully removed.
Once you have the screw loosened, pull outward on the upper right corner of the box.  You may have to lift up at the same time, if it hangs up on you.  (In order to lift up on it, put a finger or thumb in the screw's recess, and push upward).  Continue to jiggle and pull, and eventually the stupid thing will come open.  Once you've got it open, removing the battery and then the battery clips is the same as in the videos they've provided:  Pull back the tabs to slip the battery out, and then wiggle the connectors off the battery posts.
WARNING:  The battery is several pounds in weight, and the wires are not all that long.  If you have to stretch to get to your unit like I do (mine is mounted above my washer/dryer), you will benefit from a helper, so they can hold the battery while you remove the battery connectors.  I know I struggled a bit trying to do it alone.
Thanks to those who attempted to help me.  I hope this is able to help someone else in the future.
Oh, and one more piece of info:  Verizon "customer service" will repeatedly tell you the only official way to make the unit stop beeping is to replace the defective battery with a new one.  They have to utter the word "official", because otherwise, you can accuse them (accurately) of lying.  The unit will stop beeping as soon as you disconnect the old battery.  They, of course, want you to spend $30+ buying a new battery from them, so they will not tell you this.  If, like me, you have no desire to replace the battery, rest assured, the unit will stop annoying you once you've got the old battery out of it.  The "Replace Battery" light will remain on, but the audible warnings will end.

  • Replacement battery for T|X

I think I posted this question once before, but I can't find the answer.  I apologize for that.
Is there any way to replace the battery in the T|X?  Mine, which is at least 3 years old, now seems to have a half-life measured in 1-2 hours.  My assumption is that the battery needs to be replace, but I don't see a replacement battery listed on the Palm web-site.  Does this mean that it's a Palm-only replacement?
If so, where do I find the costs of doing that?  Or, am I looking at replacing the entire device?

    hello,
palm does replace battery but its a bit expensive.
    same price as repair.
but they have a 90 day warranty of the unit
you can check to pdaparts.com or usedpdaparts.com

  • Motorola Razr Maxx - Replacement Battery

Up for renewal in a couple of days, torn between the S3 and Razr Maxx.  I generally am partial to Motorola, also have heard good things about the Maxx battery life.  One concern was about the Maxx battery not being removable.
In general, I don't have good experiences with an original battery being fully functional for the 2 year life of the phone.  With regular use, charging it overnight or when its drained, have found batteries die much quicker after a year or so.  Usually this is no big deal, just buy a replacement battery when the original goes bad.  However with the Maxx, don't know if this is an option.
Is the battery replaceable in this phone?  If not by me, by Verizon tech support?

    Hey,
You bring out a good point that a lot of smartphone shoppers have in the back of their minds.  Battery life is one thing that is important, especially with screen displays getting bigger and bigger.  As far as Motorola intended, the battery is permanetly sealed in the Razr Maxx.  Removing it will probably void your warranty.  However, the battery life is very good with this model.
It is worthy to note, a lot other smartphones are made with permanent (sealed) batteries.  One big example is the Motorola Droid 4. another is the iPhone.  I did read somewhere that Apple will replace the battery for you for a fee.  I hope this answers your question about the Razr Maxx's battery.

  • Droid mini shuts down on its own

Since updating Android about a week ago, my droid mini has shut down on its own at random times. Pressing the power button won't start it up either. I have to continually press for over a minute before the phone powers up. Battery is over 70% so that shouldn't be the issue.
Thanks for any ideas on how to cure this!

I would suggest trying running the device in safe mode. There may be one of your 3rd party apps that are interfering somehow with the proper functioning of your device, and safe mode will disable them for diagnostic purposes. If running safe mode improves the phone's performance, one of a couple things may happen. Your phone may "fix itself", correcting its own glitch now that there is no interference from a problem app, or it may just run better while in safe mode. You'll have to restart again as normal to determine which one it is. If it goes back to glitching, then you will need to go back into safe mode, remove all 3rd party apps, and then add them again one by one to determine which one was the problem.

  • I ordered a battery for my laptop because it said to replace battery soon.  How long can I let the new battery sit around as I wait for the old one to run out of more charge?

I ordered a battery for my laptop because it said to replace battery soon.  How long can I let the new battery sit around as I wait for the old one to run out of more charge?  Will the new one become less effective if it sits around too long?

How much capacity is remaining on your current battery?
    Check your power status
From the  menu: Hold OPTION and click System Information... èHardware è Power
Copy and Paste in your reply.
The new battery will become less effective if you store it in a hot or humid environment. It should be stored at room temperature (22 C).
    Long term storage (6 months):
Apple recommends that you store the battery with a 50% charge. If you store a battery when it’s fully discharged, it could fall into a deep discharge state, which renders it incapable of holding any charge. Conversely, if you store it fully charged for an extended period of time, the battery may experience some loss of battery capacity, meaning it will have a shorter life.

You can probably change the ID in the "iTunes and App stores" settings on the iPad....click on the wrong account ID , select sign out, then log in with your own ID, I have not done this but I think it works.....
but I would be more inclined to to the factory reset and start afresh.
