Replace blue launch icon in kde 4.1[SOLVED]

I'm not a fan of blue - does anyone know where the icon resides for the start button in kde4? I've tried under the oxygen icons to replace the kde.png, but that didn't work. It must be lurking somewhere else?
thanks.

Hi,
Running latest KDEmod using archlinux-oxygen icon theme with latest kde-Oxygen-svn icon theme, my start menu icon changed from to this image : and have no idea from where it comes from, as in /usr/share/icons/archlinux-kde and  /usr/share/icons/oxygen, the stat-here-kde.png icons are like this :
How can I make the KDE start menu use again this icon ??

  • [SOLVED] KDE Panel - Application Launcher Icon Size

With the standard KDE panel, when I add an application launcher widget (it doesn't matter which one) the icon size of the launcher is too small. Increasing the size of the panel makes the icon get bigger to a point, but then it shrinks again. Is there a config file that I can override the icon size? I don't see one in ~/.kde4/share/config, is that the right place to look?

That was it! The "Panel" setting only changed the launcher icon. I guess I assumed that it would change all of the icon sizes, but so far it looks good. Thanks!

  • Newly installed firefox has left an blue "drive" icon on my (Mac) desktop that I cannot erase. When I click on firefox in applications, it always brings this up and won't start firefox directly. I cannot erase this "firefox" drive icon, it won't let me. E

The icon is blue with a white firefox logo on it. My only options are to "Burn 'Firefox'" or "Eject 'Firefox'" when I click on it to edit it, but I cannot cut, paste, or move to trash. It won't let me. When I click on "Eject 'firefox'" it says "The disc firefox is in use and could not be ejected". Even when I am running no applications whatsoever.
When I click on this icon, a small window appears with two icons in it: one the firefox browser icon, and the other the applications folder icon with an arrow inbetween the two. When I drag the icon into the application folder it tells me:
"An item named 'firefox' already exists in this location. Do you want to replace it with the one you're moving?"
And no matter how many times I "replace it" the icon never goes away.
And no matter how many times I replace it, whenever I click on the firefox icon in applications, it brings up this tiny window on my desktop before it will actually start running the firefox web-browser. And it will never reload my previously saved tabs is also my main concern.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== a few weeks ago since I installed...

Maybe you copied the icon show in the window to your application and into your dock directly. Try closing your Firefox again. Eject the disc again. Then go to your application folder. You should see Firefox with a circle and cross through it. Open it. It should open without the blue icon appearing on your desktop again.

  • Mavericks Folders displays as PLIST instead of the blue folder icon

Some days ago some of my folders start to show in the finder as PLIST instead of the normal blue folder icon. The number of folders that shows in that way are increasing, i don't know what trigger this. I have tried with restoring the permissions, but nothing seems to fix the problem.
i'm using mavericks 10.9.5. i also attached a screenshoot. Hope someone cans help me.

    Do a backup.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist.  Move the .plist to your desktop.
Re-launch Finder by restarting and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the same, return the .plist to where you got it  from, overwriting the newer one.

  • [SOLVED] no openoffice icons in kde menu

    Hi
I installed openoffice 3.1.1-2 and there are no icons in KDE menu. To launch OOo I have to run:
    /usr/lib/openoffice/program/[swriter]

    $ kmenuedit
    Edit->Restore to System Menu
helps, so it's probably some KDE menu related bug.

  • Unable to view "Properties" for Spartan launch icon.

    Build 10049 ... minor nit ... glitch
When I right-click on the pinned Spartan Quick Launch icon, I seen the normal three choices:
    Project Spartan
    Unpin this program
    Close this window.
However, when I right-click on the top choice (Project Spartan), the expected "Properties" doesn't appear, but only the "Unpin" and "Open". That is different from pretty much every other shortcut I have experience with. On my
10049 Build, 21 of 22 Quick Launch icons can display "Properties" .... Spartan being the lone exception.
    As Expected?
I was able to create Desktop icons for Spartan.exe with the "New Shortcut" mechanism, and also the "Drag from File Explorer to the Desktop". For those shortcuts, Properties was easily available.
More oddness: None of the files Spartan.exe or Spartan*.exe would actually start Spartan. When I did try to launch Spartan_broker.exe, I got an error message about "Cannot verify digital signature".
And more oddness ... when I clicked the "Submit" button for the above edit, Spartan crashed, with a new entry in the "Event Viewer". Fortunately, the contents weren't lost. Whew.

    Hi,
I have the same result as your in my Windows 10 Technical preview, this is the default design for Spartan, and seems this design remains in the latest 10061, please submit a feedback in Spartan about this.
    Thanks for your report.

  • I don't see a blu-ray icon in the destination window of my Final Cut Pro app even if I have an LG blu-ray burner connected

I have a MACBOOK PRO running under 10.9 and 4 Gigs memory. I bought FCP to be able to burn blu-rays videos (I produced a 4h30 video on a trip to Turkey)
My video is produced in full HD. I have an LG blu-ray burner. I bought training videos on FCP at Macpro Video and they show that going on SHARE and selecting ADD A NEW DESTINATION will bring a window where should be an icon of a blu-ray disc. But I don't see any blu-ray icon there. My burner is the model BP40NS20

Thanks Tom! Yes, I have the french version. Then, is there a something to do to correct it.

  • What is the little blue bell icon and HOW do I get rid of it?

    Hi all,
I keep getting a little blue bell icon with 2 red curved lines up at the top right corner of my screen. I do not have any alarms or alerts set. What is this and how do I get rid of it? (permanently would be nice). Thanks in advance for any wisdom y'all can impart.

Actually neither of the above (I had said I have no alarm set).
Turns out it is the symbol for voicemail calls I didn't receive (thank you from someone else who also has the same problem with their Pearl). To get rid of it one must go into the voicemail area and manually delete those calls.

  • Gnome panel launcher icon size

Is there a way to make GNOME panel launcher icons smaller? (like in XFCE panels...)
Or, is there any other type of launcher that can be used?

If you downsize the panel, the icons will be downsized too..
There is also the drawer applet, which can contain the icons...

  • Photoshop 13 - No 'launch icon' after install

I installed (downloaded) Photoshop 13 on my laptop (WIn 8) and after installation noticed there is no launch icon on my desktop.  Also, there is not one to drag and drop from the installation files.  There is a 'setup' file, but when I click on it, it wants me to re-enter my serial number , HOWEVER, it won't let me enter the alpha letters which are in my serial number, only actual numbers.  This shouldn't be so difficult.

Of course, but it's best to check with the members Photoshop Elements forum. They can better answer your questions.

  • What is the blue key icon beside my updated projects?

I've been updating some projects to the newest version of FCPX.  I noticed that sometimes there is a small blue key icon beside the project's thumbnail (under the numbers for the length of time of the project).  What does that indicate?  Is it only there for updated projects?

It usually indicates it's keyworded. That doesn't normally happen, but it can.

  • Quick launch icon

How do I get rid of the quick launch icon for QuickTime for Windows? I would also like to stop this program from auto launching itself everytime I boot up.

If your referring to quick launch in the task bar just right click on it and delete it is just a shortcut.
If your referring to the system tray icon do wht b noir eplained. But also go to Start>Run>type in msconfig, click OK. Then click on the Startup tab and uncheck qttask, this will disable QT from loading at startup.
