REPLACE COLOR only allows graytones for replacement color

Hello,
I am trying to use the REPLACE COLOR command to change a white sky to a blue sky. I am running Photoshop CS on Windows XP system. Photoshop provides two descriptions on how to use the REPLACE COLOR command and I have tried both. Howwever, for either one, when I attempt to set the color that will be used to replace the original color, the color picker always "previews" and uses a graytone rendition, not the tone I actually attempt to set. When I wag the mouse over the entire color picker swatch, the preview alway renders a graytone. If I instead type in a known 6-hex digit color identifier I still get a graytone rendition, not the actual
color.
I am trying to change the color for only a portion of the image, so I'm using the rectangular marquee to selection the portion I want to change.
For completeness, here is a list of steps I'm performing-
1)In the Layers palette, select the layer containing the color you want to replace.
2)Use the rectangular marquee to select only a specific area in the image you wish to change.
3)Choose Image > Adjustments > Replace Color.
4)In the Replace Color dialog box, make sure Selection is selected under the preview window.
4)In the image, click the color you want to change.
5)Double-click the Result swatch and use the Color Picker to select the replacement color and click OK.
Any clues what I'm doing wrong or what I may hav set wrong?

Replace color will not work for white or black, as there is no color. There was a post about a month ago with similar topic, with some solutions. Sorry can't remember how to get there, try search with this in mind.

Time Machine restore only allows restore for previous 24 hours

I'm using Time Machine on a 500GB Time Capsule. My Mac is running 10.5.2. This morning I tried to restore a file from a backup several days ago. Although the correct date is listed in Time Machine, only the backups for the last 24 hours can be accessed from the Time Machine interface. The other dates are listed but are grayed out. If I access the backup volume from the Finder the backups are all there and I can restore my files.

Yes, but I didn't manually mount the disk image. It mounted (I think) when I first launched Time Machine.
That said, I just got home and launched the Time Machine interface again. This time it worked without a hitch.
I'll try and do some more experimenting if the problem occurs again.

Replacing existing file - keyboard command for Replace

In some apps, if you try to save a file to a location where an older version (same name) exists, you are warned and asked if you want to Cancel or Replace. Focus is on the Cancel button, as it should be. Is there a keyboard command to move focus to the Replace button? I've tried various cobinations etc and I'm sure that there is one.

You can also enable Access for assisitve devices in the universal access pref. pane.
You can then use TAB to move the focus and SPACE to select the button.

Only allow Webaccess for Apache

I have NW 6.5 server running GW Webaccess 7.01 IR1.
I would like when people accessing the Apache server via port 80 or 443 and
does not matter which's the URl they use, they will be redirected to
https://webmail.domain.com/gw/webacc.
I have edited http.conf with

and it is redirecting properly when I use the following URL

Is there a way to redirect all requests to Apache to

Note that I don't have iManager installed on this machine.

you can also modify the login.htt template in the tomcat directory so
any attempt to connect to the servlet will redirect to the one page you
want. cool solutions has writeups on doing this...
you can get a much more descriptive answer down in the groupwise

Preflight warnings for registration color -- how to avoid?

In preflighting, is there any way to turn off registration color and font color warnings when checking for spot colors and non-CMYK colors?
I spend a lot of time tunneling through lists of fonts (that use non-CMYK color in their definitions) and registration color notes for crops, register marks, and so on, just to make absolute certain that the "Object uses non-CMYK color" info doesn't contain anything weird.
I've recently moved from CS3 to CS5 Acrobat Pro 9, and hoped there would be some option to turn off font color and registration color messages.

Non-CMYK elements are flattened (if necessary) and converted to CMYK using the fixups, but then they have to be proofed carefully for problems, so it isn't anything we want to add to the routine unless absolutely necessary.

If it were a simple list, I could scan it for problem, but with all the nested folders and scrolling, it take a fair amount of time (multiplied by 30 or 40 documents, say).

They should have one in Stock, but you never know. Call your Apple Store and tell them you have an iPhone 5 color and GB, and that you most likely will need a replacement, do they have any in Stock. If yes, go in, if not ask for advice on how to handle your problem.

How do I only allow certain users to print in color?

I work at a K-12 school and purchased the HP Color LaserJet Professional CP5225dn Printer (CE712A) for use in our computer lab. I would like to know if it is possible to have it so that only certain users can print in color (possibly put a password on it). I know the cost for color is higher, and therefore, would like it so that students have to approve through teacher if they want to print in color.
We are running it on our Print Server (networked) not through USB.

That's a very good question actually. In my corporate networks, we are talking about hundreds of laser printers and the ONLY thing we can do: only allow people access to a set of mono laser printers, not all printers. For example, the following printer is using B&W as default but can't stop users to print in colors if they could access to the resourse:

Replace colors on multiply layer with predefined color

Hello,
This is my first time here and I've tried to find an answer to my question but haven't been able to. Maybe someone can help me whith this.
My process:
I scann my artwork (linedrawing)
I color my artwork with multiply mode on different layers (as i'm sure many do)
Now what I haven't been able to figure out is how to replace the color on this multiply layer with a predefined color from my colorswatch.
I've found tutorials on how you can change colour around by using hue/saturation and stuff like that but I have a predefined colorpalette. So I just want to replace a certain color blue I always work with, for a specific color green from my palette.
I've used the replace brush tool but the colors that appear are a blend of the first color and the second color I use.
So my solution so far has been to set up a new layer and color again. I'm hoping there is an easier way.

You could have a Color Fill layer for each color selected from your Swatches, with the blending mode set to Multiply, and the layer mask filled with black. Then, paint on the mask with white to do your coloring.

Remote desktop from Win 7 to Win server 2003 only allows 16 bit color depth. How to increase to at least 24 bit?

Hi! I'd like to RDP in to a Win server 2003 computer from my new Windows 7 (x64) computer. There's no problem to connect but the connection only allows me to use 16 bit color depth on the Windows server 2003 client. The program I want to use on this computer requires at least 24 bit to run.
I've googled around and tried it all:
-setting the color depth to 4 or 5 through regedit (on both computers)
-creating a Group Policy object-snap in through mmc
-reading endless of forums but no one has had the same issue as I
My question. If all the ordinary solutions isn't working what could the issue then be? My only suspision at this point is the the RDP-client on Win server isn't working properly. The Windows Server 2003 client is fully updated machine and it should have the RDP 5.2-version installed but I can only find 5.1. Could this be the issue? That it needs to be 5.2 to properly communicate with a win7(x64)? If so, how can I upgrade solely the RDP-client since it seems not to have followed with the Automatic Update as it should?

I still recommend you to check the local group policy setting “Limit maximum color depth” on the Terminal Server side. Based on your description of Group Policy Object Editor, I suspect the loss of Terminal Services folder is caused by system.adm file not loaded successfully. Please try to fix it via the following steps:
1.     Open Group Policy Object Editor (run “gpedit.msc”) on the terminal server.
2.     Expand Computer Configuration \ Administrative Templates
3.     Right click Administrative Templates folder and select Add/Remove Templates, if system is not listed in the panel, go to Step 4; If it is, remove it and go to Step 4.
4.     Click Add button.
5.     In the next phase, it is Windows\inf folder, if it is not, please navigate to the folder. Select system.adm file and click Open.
6.     Check if the Terminal Services folder appears under Windows Components now.

How to change the background color only for one HTML-Portlet?

I have created a HTML-Portlet in my root-page. The root page have a style: Main-Style.
I want to change the background-color only for this one HTML-Portlet:

Save for web color shift - only on images smaller than 150x150px

I'm getting a color shift only on small images (150x150px or smaller) when I save for web in Photoshop CC and CS6. That's very weird as it doesn't happen to images larger than 150x150px! That issue happens with images with different measurements as well (e.g. rectangle), the small looks dull and the larger display the right color.
My Color Settings are set to "Monitor Color". Under save for web I have the following options not ticked: Embed Color Profile and Convert to sRGB. (viget.com/inspire/the-mysterious-save-for-web-color-shift)
I'm running the OS X 10.8.4 on a macbook pro, I tested that on both, Safari 6.0.5 and FF.
The squares in the screenshot were saved exatly the same way. The largerer displays the right color #FFCB32, but the smaller displays the color wrong.

Resizing in photoshop (Image Size), but the color shifts even with cropped image after save for web.

Will the Apple Store give me a replacement iPhone 6 the one i have now has a clicking noise when you press on the screen. I have only had it for about 8 weeks is it a manufacterin fault or what.

My iPhone 6 has a clicking sound coming from the top left of the device as if its no aligned properly with the frame.
