Here is the Manual:
Link to Manual
Your Model has 2 memory slots but it is necessary to remove the motherboard to access them. See page 76. It takes DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM memory and to get to 8 gigs you would just need to add another 4 gig module. The hard drive slot is also accessible only by removing the top cover. You can substitute an SSD for the hard drive.
This is not your exact model but very similar and shows top cover removal as video clips:
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04324972
Technically, neither of these operations is authorized for end users, but HP will continue to honor the warranty as long as no damage is done in the process. You should have an experienced technician handle it, particularly the memory upgrade.

Because the Hotkey driver is installed, bluetooth cannot be activated by pressing Fn-F5 until the BT-driver has been installed.
    Otherwise:
Bluetooth can be enabled before the Hotkey-driver is installed.

Usually if you use Toshiba designed tools it is enough for successfully notebook usage. Can you please tell us what you mean exactly with "hardware control"?

  • Clarification on notebook hardware as HP is vague.

No reply after 24 hours for a (now edited and repaced with this update) question either hp or owners should be clear on. Order is stuck without clearance in AK, a problem hp as repeatedly had. Poor forum experience (ignored entirely) as well as a stuck in customs laptop I bought that I have no definitive answer on what hardware is inside, I hope the Envy arrives soon so I can begin a RMA request and ship it back unopened. Just the feeling I will have questions posted for days without replies, numerous (off site even) searches on what the undocumented specs are for these machines, is a bit. Much to ask of a consumer. Hopefully I will be refunded and can try another dealer.

    Hi,
To me also, its hardware issue rather than OS, the wireless receiver also keeps failing after the  system is on for 2/3 hours apprently form overheating. The process related solution is also very generic as for the configuration is should always be very fast for normal day to day use. Loos like the issue is with the ENVY DV6 series itself. I am having problem with my laptop since last one year.
Hp couldn't able to fix the issue properly in several attemps and broke one corner of my laptop during last repair. They promised a new comparable replacement to me but not sure when it would arrive.

  • Out of warranty iPhone 3Gs replacement w/ hardware malfunction

I recieved my second replacement iPhone 3Gs 32GB from Apple in December. My original iPhone was glitching and the first replacement wouldnt recognize the SIM because it didnt fit.
Anyway, I was studying for a test this summer and the home button just stopepd functioning. I now have to press really heard and hope it works.
I scheduled an appointment and was told my phone:
    -is a replacement from December
    -is out of 'warranty'
-was opened by the Apple technician only to find 'nothing wrong' withthe home button
He said to call headquaters and ask them for a special exception because it is definitely a hardware issue and I am too far out of the 'replacement warranty' for the Apple tech. to grant me an exception.
I called 1-800-MYAPPLE only to be told by the computer that I cannot get phone support because I am out of 'warranty.' Go figure,
Frustrated, I called my local apple store only to hear the person on the other end tell ME that they would liek to buy an Apple Macbook. I was then hung up on.
I called another store and was told to come here, to the "chat" on the apple Support page.
    Someone, anyone...help.
P.S. Why is that my original iPhone 3Gs warranty lasts an entire year, but a replacement doesn't? It was less than 6 months since I had recieved my replacement. I've been dealing with this for over a month!

Basically because if you were dishonest, and that is not an accusation you could then turn it into an everlasting warranty!  Hope you take that in the manner it is meant!

  • HP Pavillion dm4 - 1002tx Entertainment Notebook - Hardware Upgrade

    Hi,
Does anyone can help me answers my silly questions regarding above subject. I have just installed a simulation games on my laptop HP PaviIlion dm4 - 1002tx Entertainment Notebook. I have problem on running it and beleive that my laptop system doesnt meet the requirements.
    Games Installed Minimum Requirement:
OS :  Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8
    Processor : 2.66GHz Intel Core2 Duo E6750 or 2.8GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+
    Memory : 2GB RAM
Graphics : 256 MB DirectX 9 / NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT or ATI RAdeon HD 2600 XT
Hard Drive : 12 GB HD Space
    Sound : DirectX 9.0c - compliant
    Games Installed Recommended :
OS :  Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8
    Processor : 3.1GHz Intel Core i3-540 or 3.3GHz Athlon II X3 455
    Memory : 4GB RAM
Graphics : 512 MB NVIDIA GT 240 or 512 MB ATI RAdeon HD 5670
Hard Drive : 12 GB HD Space
    Sound : DirectX 9.0c - compliant
    My HP Pavillion dm4 - 1002tx has 4GB RAM and Intel Core i5 -520M 2.26Ghz.
1- Can I upgrade my Processor to meet the requirements above?
2- What will be the type of upgrade to be done?
3- Is it possible to upgrade my processor from 2.26Ghz Intel Core i5 into Intel® Core™ i5-4690K Processor
    (6M Cache, up to 3.90 GHz) ?
    Please need badly your help.

No you absolutely cannot upgrade the processor from a first generation Core i5 to a 4th generation. The plug (socket) in the motherboard is not the same. The processor you refer to is not even a laptop processor, but you could not even install an equivalent laptop processor. Your real problem is I believe you have the Intel graphics, which do not meet the minimum specs in any way. You could install a processor that would be in the range necessary to play the game but that is not the whole issue. The fastest procesor you can install would be:
    Intel® Core™ i7 processor 640M, 2.80-GHz (SC turbo up to 3.33 GHz), 4-MB L3 cache
You could also install a motherboard with better graphics that are between the minimum and recommended specs.
    ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD6370 with 1024-MB of dedicated video memory [128-MB×16 DDR3, 800-MHz])
Whatever game that is has some moderately high recommended specs, but not super high. HP does currently make consumer laptops that would meet those specs. There is just no way to upgrade yours to get the necessary video performance to play it without buying a new processor and motherboard, which will not be much less than a new laptop.

  • How much would it cost to replace the HardWare?

early 2008 iMac, how much would it cost for apple to fix it?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
It depends of the hard disk the iMac has got. For my iMac, the replacement hard disk cost 99€, so it's not expensive. If you want to save money and your iMac isn't covered by the warranty, you can replace it yourself using the iFixit steps. • Premiere Elements 7 720p editing notebook Hardware requirements

    Hi there,
I need a new Notebook for myself.
Some desktop workstation is no alternative for me...and I need a mobile , light weighted, enduring notebook since I am traveling a lot. Its required mainly for surfing , typing and programming MS VisualStudio.
But also for hobby cutting 702p clips With PremiereElements....
My panasonic Lumix Tz7 produces 720p Avchd (Lite ) mts output with length up to 15 minutes.
Now that format is what I want to cut with Premiere Elements.I am willing to accept minor speed issues, cutting is just my hobby.
Currently I have a 2.53Ghz Pentium which requires a 15 min clip to load 10 min. During that time Premiere Elements is blocked and the System processor is up to 100% usage. I am not able to parse through the clip without further blocking.
    Now will that one do?
    Aspire Timeline 3810TG-734G32n
    Core 2 Duo SU7300 (1,3GHz)
    4GB RAM DDR3
    for 800 Euros
    http://www.arlt.com/index.php?sid=ccb4c2cc45105affc8716a35fdb15e84&
Since I do need the notebook mainly only for typing and Websurfing I rather hesitant to buy something like:
Sony VGN-SR59VG/H with core2 Duo P8700 (2,53GHz) for 1.299,00 Euros or some other model from the Z series. they are really good technology but expensive -- but even then I am not sure if that one is sufficient for avchd lite editing.
    does anyone have any suggestions??
    Any hint will be welcome!
    David

    David,
AVCHD is about the most demanding codec imaginable. It requires quite some muscle. For desktops the minimum requirements are i7 to make any editing experience better than an extremely boring waiting exercise, despite what Adobe says. I realize it is only for occasional use and for a hobby, but still...
I have the Sony Vaio VGN-FW31ZJ, but it is too slow IMO to use for editing. It is convenient for using with OnLocation, but that is about it.
    Have a look here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/438156?tstart=30
Now if you were to invest in a notebook, at least go for an i7 and make sure you have a firewire port for capturing and 2 eSATA connectors for harddisks with 7200 RPM minimum. Have a look at Sager. This will imply concessions on portability and budget, but that is the consequence of notebooks for editing, especially with AVCHD material.
Mobile, lightweight and durable are in direct conflict with the basic requirements for editing. Editing requires an octopus notebook, with dongles, external disks, cables for ingest and all kinds of paraphernalia to make it work as an editing machine.

  • Notebook Hardware

Hello, I have an Smart Touch tm2 2050 that I have just reset.
Before the reset Sound, USB ports, Lan, and Touch screen where NOT working.
After the reset they still are NOT.
    Ideas??

There is no stated reason why it would not work not but there are several possible motherboards listed for the g6, and I suspect the board they use on the very low end models using the b950 processors may not support the Core i5 processors. When you have a sub-$400 laptop and a single mobile i5 processor is going to cost a couple hundred bucks you are better off selling your laptop and adding the cost of the processor to the proceeds and buying an i5 laptop. They are available for $500-600. The low end $300 +/- laptops can usually be sold for just about what you paid for it. The risk and loss of warranty caused by a processor upgrade just is not worth any savings you think you are going to achieve with a DIY processor upgrade.
    Here is your service manual.
    Manual
See page 20. Look at all those different motherboards. You can tell what you have by opening the memory slot and checking under the RAM sticks. The part number is painted there. If you decide to do the upgrade the Manual will come in handly.

  • Migrating server hardware replacement oes11 to oes11sp2

This summer I will be replacing server hardware at one of my schools. Currently it has sles11sp1 / oes11 -- put in in 2012. The patches are up to date for this version, but I have not upgraded/migrated it to a newer version yet. I have played in a test environment with the yast2 wagon migration from sles11sp1/oes11 to sles11sp2/oes11sp1 -- no problems. However trying to find notes on how to do a migration and identity transfer from source server hardware to new target server hardware. Found oes11sp2 migration tool administration guide. I haven't found anything telling me how to setup sles on the target server box ie server name etc. Once I have the target sles server setup, I realize I need to install OES and select the "Novell pre-migration server" option during this installation.
Current source server = sles11sp1/oes11 and has iPrint, Nss and netstorage installed. Installed in tree with oes11 and oes11sp1 servers.
The main tree server has sles11sp2/oes11sp1 on it. We will need to upgrade it to sles11sp3/oes11sp2 this summer. I'm fine with doing the yast2 wagon migration on that server. We just haven't done server hardware replacements for OES-L yet.
Looking for some good (step by step) instructions. ;-)
    Thanks
    Patty

Then install oes11sp2 into the tree in a temporary location in the tree as a premigration server (for the installation). Then I should be able to follow the instructions. When I do the identity transfer, I'm assuming it renames the sles11sp3 server from tempfs to testfs as well (as that is where oes gets the file server name from)?
Um, sorta. Let's pretend your server name is: OLD and the new one is NEW (temporary NEW name and temporary NEW IP)
    OLD: OES11
NEW: OES11 SP2 (assuming you want latest stuff).
    Do all your data transfer/consolidations/etc
Then when you do the ID transfer, it will literally transfer the eDir databases (well copy is more correct) from OLD to NEW, you shut off OLD, I think it restarts NEW and renames/changes the servername and IP to what OLD had.
You can choose to install the NEW server with the .ISO separately (ie: Install SLES11 SP3, then after you're done, Add On the OES11 SP2 .ISO), or you may choose to use the integrated DVD and do it all at once, or use the 2 separate ISO and do them at once (but depending upon your installation method, you may not be able to do the 2 separate ISO).
    I hope that helps.
I'm about halfway through editing my docs for OES11 SP1 (of course, SP2 is out now) for migrations from OES2 SP3, but the same setup steps basically apply. I think the only things that changed from NW To OES (ie: OES2 to OES11) are DHCP and iPrint migration procedures.

  • Firewall Hardware is being replace (Discoverer 4i Impact) Oracle 11i

    Hi there
We are going to replace Firewall Hardware from HP to Nokia, I have Oracle 11i and Discoverer 4i Plus/Viewer on Unix.
    I have a question:
Is there any impact on Discoverer Plus/Viewer for chaning Hardware of Firewall?
    Application Release 11.5.10.2
    Oracle Discoverer 4i (4.1.48.08.00)
    EUL V4.1.14.0.0.0
    Oracle Database 10g (10.1.0.4.0)
    Discoverer Plus 4i (4.1.48.08.00)
    Thanks
    ASIM

    Hi Asim
Well I'd certainly like to say No but recent experiences have led me to believe that a firewall can be one of the reasons for poor performance. Properly configure a firewall should not interfere with Discoverer but improperly configure I'm of the impression that a firewall can.
I'm working with two customers right now who have poor performance when Discoverer is situated inside a firewall. I've asked them to move it outside and see what happens. On one of them I started up my own application server, on my laptop of all places. The laptop was outside the firewall. When users ran reports connected to their own server, inside the firewall, I saw reports take 20 minutes. When the same user connected via my application server, the same report took less than 20 seconds. Therefore, more testing is required to ascertain whether the firewall is to blame, whether the network connection between the server and the database is at fault, or whether its just because the machine that is running the application server is just too old. I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything.
Therefore, I would certainly test out any new firewall before going live. I would recommend placing the application server inside and then outside the firewall and then conduct timing tests to see how long the workbooks take to run.
    Best wishes
    Michael

    Hi
Even after reseating memory stick, it didn't work out. So you may have to go for replacement of the RAM. Contact HP in your region if you are under warranty.
