Replace OUTLOOK HOME AND BUSINESS Version with OUTLOOK PROFESSIONAL [Standalone]

Hey Techies,
Here is the Scenario,I have been using Office Home and business 2013(installed from Click-to-run setup)  on my WIN-7 pro. As i needed to access
my Microsoft Exchange online archive (i have exchange online plan 2) on Outlook i'd to buy outlook Professional standalone (it has the feature to view online archive where as outlook office home and biz doesn't).
So when i try to install outlook professional standalone onto my PC installer just skip installing the outlook (i think) and complete the installation successfully.I assume installation is skipping because outlook is already present .
Kindly some one  assist me in installing Outlook professional by not removing other components of office home and business 2013.
Thanks advance.

>> It's the same Outlook 2013 in both cases.
Not, it's not *exactly* the same - the Pro Plus version can do online archives & retention policies while the Outlook that comes with Home or Home & Business is missing a thing or two that are only supported by Exchange servers. For 99%
of the users, it's no big deal and they never notice.
FWIW, this isn't new and it isn't limited to Outlook - the Office professional and pro plus suites have always had a few extras over lower end retail suites. Excel in Pro Plus also has some additional BI stuff, like power pivot.  AFAIK, Word
and PowerPoint are the same in both.
This chart gives an idea of what is different.
As for installing Outlook when a lessor version it's already installed, I'm not sure you can without uninstalling the Home and Business suite and reinstalling it after installing Outlook. It would be better to get the entire pro suite.

    Hi Raghavendar,
Generally, when you install Lync 2013 in the computer with Office 2010, a Lync Meeting Add-in will be installed and enabled in Outlook 2010. Please follow these steps to check it:
    1. In Outlook, click the File tab, click Options, and then click
    Add-Ins.
    2. Please take one of the following actions:
If the add-in is in the Inactive Application Add-ins list, follow these steps:
    a. In the Manage drop-down list at the bottom of the dialog box, click
COM Add-ins, and then click Go.
    b. Click to select the check box next to the add-in, and then click OK.
The New Online Meeting button should now be available in
Calendar View, and the Online Meeting button should be available when you create a new calendar item.
If the add-in is in the Disabled Application add-ins list, follow these steps:
    a. In the Manage drop-down list at the bottom of the dialog box, click
Disabled Items, and then click Go.
    b. Select the add-in, and then click Enable.
    c. Restart Outlook, and then verify that the add-in is displayed in the
    Add-ins dialog box.
The New Online Meeting button should now be available in
Calendar View, and the Online Meeting button should now be available when you create a new calendar item.
    3. In Event Viewer, view the Application log to see whether an error was logged for Outlook, for Lync 2013, the Lync Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office 2013.

  • Home and Business Outlook Archiving

I believe to have Outlook mailbox archiving and retention period using Exchange 2010 I need Outlook separate from the Home and Business Version of Outlook that I have currently installed which is a mixture of 2010 Outlook with Home and Business and 2013.
Can i just uninstall Outlook and install a stand alone version? or should i juts upgrade Office to a business version?
Any help with this would be ideal.

    Hi,
The Personal Archive and retention policies features require a Microsoft Exchange Online account or Microsoft Exchange Server account, as well as a Microsoft Exchange Server Enterprise Client Access License (CAL) and specific Microsoft Outlook licenses.
The short answer to your question is Yes, the following retail licenses are supported:
    Outlook 2013 stand-alone
    Outlook 2010 stand-alone
Outlook 2010 included with Microsoft Office Professional Plus Subscription
    Outlook 2007 stand-alone
Outlook 2007 included with Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007

  • Issues with Office Home and Business 2013 Online redeem

    Hi Guys,
I am wondering if anyone has experienced this issue:
We purchased some office licenses via local suppliers, they're medialess, and it's just an email with redeem site's URL and product key.
If i click on the Download link to redeem, it forward to Office Online website and request a Microsoft account to login. We then login use a company based microsoft account. Then what it shows is list of Office 2013 Home and Business items with "Install"
button underneath. I then started look for the one with the right product key, but none of them match the one I've been given from supplier's email.
If i use an installation media, then type in the product key, it will show Redeem Online button again, if I click on it, it ask me to login, once I logged in, it shows list of Office 2013 Home and Business with numbers in the () like (1), (2), (3)....etc.
No matter which way i use, if i continue the installation of selecting any of them in the list, I have to go through Microsoft's telephone activation. Often, we have customer's office 2013 installation corrupted and suddenly none of the office program can
be opened, and we have to uninstall / reinstall office and redo activation and etc.
I am wondering if anyone has experienced this, and whether this is something local supplier's issue or it's something Microsoft should be improving. Right now, we have to order the normal retail version with media, rather than this online version in order
to avoid drama, but for those computers which already installed with online version, we have having issue from time to time.
Any help or comment will be much appreciated!
    Thank you very much

    Hi,
Usually, you can download and activate Office with the Microsoft Account that associated with your Office 2013 Home and Business subscription on Office Online site.
    For example:

I would suggest you contact your local supplier directly, they should give you the detailed instructions on how to do this.

  • Microsoft Query for Office 2013 Home and Business

Where can I get Microsoft Query for Office 2013 Home and Business version?  I have used it for years on my old XP machine with Office 2003.
    Thank you, Sue

    Hi,
You seem got an error like "Microsoft query could not be started because it isn’t installed" when you used it.
It may be not installed yet. We can go to "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features\Office 2013 Home and Business\change\Microsoft tools\MS query" and check if it is installed/enabled.
If it is not installed, please use the Install CD/ full installation copy to reinstall it.

  • Lync and Office 2013 Home and Business 'Present PowerPoint' not working

    Hello All,
We have an Exchange online E1 plan that includes Lync, that we have been using without problems for the last year or so.
The 'Present PowerPoint' functionality of Lync is very useful, and again it has been working without fault until now.  However, for one user who we have upgraded to Office 2013 Home and Business (from Office 2010), it no longer works when she clicks on
present, select PowerPoint and select a .pptx file. She gets the following error message...
'the presentatio.ppx couldn't be converted for presentation because Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is not installed on this computer. Please install VBA and try again.'
The thing is it seems that Visual Basic for Applications is installed as a part of the Lync Basic Install. I re-installed Lync just in case, and when I clicked customize I ensured that Visual Basic for Applications was checked to install as run from the
    computer.
In searching online I can see plenty of other people suggesting with Office 2010 to repair the Office install, and select customize and make sure the Visual Basic for Applications is checked to install too.  However, with Office 2013 Home and Business
you don't get this option - it seems all or nothing.  I have tried repairing both installs, re-installing etc with no luck
So is it that Office 2013 Home and Business incompatible with Lync or can anyone help or throw some ideas at me?
    Thanks,
    Andrew.

The suggestion since there is not direct solution as of today  would be either roll back the office 2010 since we know this work
On upgrade to Office 2013 Pro use the full Lync Client

  • Installed Office 2013 home and Business and its prompting activation for Office 2013 standard

    Dear Friends,
Previously i got a trial version of Office 2013 stadard version on my PC and later on i purchased Office home and business version, i uninstalled standard version restarted the PC and installed Office 2013 home and Business OEM pack and activated the prduct.
Now while i am opening any  office product like Excel or Word while checking for activation information there its showing me both the versions of office, Office 2013 standard (activation required) and office 2013 Home and business activated. Now my question
is why that office standard 2013 is still showing in my activation page where as the same version was unable to find in my control panel programs and features. please help me out to get rid of this issue.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
Maybe you didn't remove the the Standard version completely, I suggest you uninstall Office using the Fix it tool:
    Click this Fix it.
Or we can uninstall Office 2013 manually, the steps are long and depend on your installation method, please refer to this article below:
Manually uninstall Office 2013 or Office 365
Note   Before you start, you need to know removing Office manually is a long, complex process and might require that you reinstall the operating system if certain steps are done incorrectly.
After the uninstall, install the version you need to check the result.

  • MS Office 2010 upgrade Home and Student to Home and Business

    Hello,
I have to change Office versions on a couple of computers from Home and Student to Home and Business. I intend to uninstall the current versions then install the new ones. Presumably the license keys "liberated" can be reused on other computers. Is that
    correct?
As far as I can tell, MS provides no way to recover a key. There are several utilities on the net that claim to do that. How reliable are they?
    Thanks in advance
    Philippe

    Hi,
For a preloaded Office version you can locate the product key on you computer.
If you purchased a Product Key Card, please locate the key on it.
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/find-your-office-2010-product-key-HA101832538.aspx
If you lost the product key, try this:

    More information about licenses usage:
Q:Can I install Office Home and Business 2010 and Office Professional 2010 on more than one PC?
A:It depends on what you purchase—a Traditional Disc or Product Key Card. If you purchase a Traditional Disc retail license of Office Home and Business 2010 or Office Professional 2010, the retail license terms allow you to install, activate, and use Office
Home and Business 2010 or Office Professional 2010 on your primary PC and your portable device such as your laptop. This license is for your use exclusively.
If you purchase an Office 2010 Product Key Card, you can only activate and use the suite on one PC or device. For more information on the license you have purchased and to obtain an overview of your licensing agreement, visit the

  • Outlook 2013 (included with Home and Business 2013) does not archive everything

We are running on Exchange 2010 SP3. We have about 5 PCs with Office Home and Business 2013 (click-to-run version). We set up auto-archiving on all machines and set the options to apply on all folders. It's supposed to back up everything 24 months prior.
It does not back up everything. For example, on my machine which is Windows 8.1 (the others are windows 7 pro), it only backed up emails from March of 2013. We have already applied the registry fix where we do the following:
registry key (dword) ArchiveIgnoreLastModifiedTime = 1
    Outlook 2013 in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Preferences
That didn't help at all. The machines with Office Home and Business 2010 work fine.
    Anyone else having this issue?

  • How to apply an Outlook 2013 Open license to a pre-installed Office Home and Business 2013 installation for Email Auto Archiving functionality

    We're deploying new Dell pc's.
Unfortunately we have a large existing install base of Office Home and Business in the field due to customers buying Office bundled on Dell machines.  Buying Open License Outlook licenses is more cost effective than upgrading to Office Pro Plus for all
these users and is our preferred path.  We aren’t sure how to apply these Open License Outlook licenses since the Home and Business installations work off a single license key for all the applications

    Hi,
Isn't the Office bundled on Dell machines already activated?
If it's the OEM version that has been installed on the machines and you want to use retail product keys to activate the Office, it's not possible. You will need to uninstall the OEM version and install the retail version.
You can check the OEM licensing system here:

  • Outlook 2010 Home and Business

    Hello,
I have Outlook 2010 Home and Business and I have IMAP email account. Outlook made connection automatically and I am getting an error : Synchronizing subscribed folders for [email protected] and Checking for new mail in subscribed folders on [email protected]
Of course I did try to remove the account and install it again.
    https://support.office.com/en-US/Article/Add-or-remove-an-email-account-5a74e3be-7e11-4d9b-99f7-08ec25e9d072?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US
I looked on Microsoft website and tried also this
    https://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135?wa=wsignin1.0
    The problem is still there.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
As per the description, I'm assuming that you are having synchronization issue with your IMAP account in Outlook.
"Synchronizing subscribed folders for [email protected] and Checking for new mail in subscribed folders on
[email protected]" - This is not an error message, did you see any sync errors in Outlook? Any Send/Receive error codes?
You can try below steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Check if your email account settings (incoming/outgoing mail server, server port numbers...) are correct. You can get this information from your ISP or email administrator.
    Disable virus scanner integration.
Loading Outlook in Safe Mode to see if add-ins are the cause of the issues: Press Win + R and type "outlook.exe /safe" in the blank box, then press Enter.

  • Archiving options for Outlook 2010/2013 Home and Business?

    Hi all,
Forgive me if this is covered already (I am sure it would be somewhere but I could not find a definitive answer).  We are looking at migrating from Google Apps to Exchange and I am trying to cost it all up and have a question in relation to archiving.
Our 450 users are not akin to archiving, given their gmail limits, they are just used to keeping everything, however with exchange that will have to change as we are going to host it locally.
The question I have is what archiving options are available to me given that all our office installations are Home and Business 2010/2013?  I have read the compatibility matrix which says outlook in this product does not support in-place archiving.
To test this I created an in-place archive for my account (outlook 2010 H&B) and when I re-open outlook I get my archive mailbox showing up.
I have not yet tested the mailbox retention policies and such like but I thought I would just ask as to what options would be available to me given this situation?
Given that my archive is now showing in outlook, what has caused that to happen? I would have thought that if it was not supported that it would not have shown up at all?  Can someone explain what functionality will not work and what will?
If we have to buy new copies of outlook for all our clients it just adds to the cost that I suspect will kill the move and management will say that we can stay on gmail.
Thanks for any direction you may have.

I understand that it is not supported, I was just commenting that It appeared to work in the tests that I had done and I was curious as to why
Aaron would you mind to share your findings on this if any! We are in the same situation as you were.
I have activated Online Archiving (on-premises) feature for 3 accounts on our Exchange 2010 and set them up with Retention Policy which Move to archive items aged more than 6 months and all works fine and old Items automatically being moved to Online Archive
mailbox which just appeared after enabling this on server for above 3 accounts.
The server is Exchange 2010 and clients are Outlook H&B 2013 which comes with DELL systems.
We already purchased Enterprise Licenses as well and have access to Microsoft Download pages to get Outlook 2013.
But since above is working just fine, we really would like to know, if we don't install Outlook 2013 and activate it with that license what in fact we are missing in terms of functionalities regarding Online Archiving!
Really looking forward to hear back from you or anybody who can clear the confusion.
    Thanks for assistance!

  • WSUS updates not applying to Office 2013 Home and Business OEM version

    Hi
For some reason I cannot get WSUS updates to automatically install on clients running Office 2013 Home and Business OEM version.
    For example
If user opens any of the office 2013 apps e.g. Outlook , word etc, it prompts a message at the top under the ribbon toolbar; UPDATE NOW.
All other updates for OS are downloading and installing just fine from our WSUS server.
    What could this be?
I dont have this issue with clients running office 2003

First thing you need to do is be absolutely certain which edition of Office you have installed.
There are five editions of "Office 365" and these days, almost anything that is "OEM" is almost certainly Office 365:
    Office 365 Home
    Office 365 Personal
    Office 365 Small Business
    Office 365 Small Business Premium
    Office 365 Midsize Business
Office 365 ships with an activation code for an online management account, and authorizes the installation of the software on up to five devices. Office 365 is updated via the WEB .. ONLY.
In addition there are three editions of Office 2013:
    Office Home & Student
    Office Home & Business
    Office Professional
If you have one of these three editions, you should also have a DVD and a Product Activation Code for the SINGLE-PC installation which is licensed for these editions provided by the vendor of your computers. Office 2013 can be updated using WSUS.
Since you're getting a prompt IN THE APPLICATION to "Update Now", I believe you're looking at instances of Office 365, not Office 2013. Office 2013 (desktop) does not provide in-product prompts for updates/upgrades.

  • Exchange Online Plan 1 use with Office Home and Business 2013 License

Question: Does the Office Home & Business 2013 Outlook work properly with Exchange Online Plan 1?  (are there limitations?)
As a farm dealership needing 44 licenses (very light Office product use except email), I'm struggling with the sustaining cost of Office365 Bus Prem.  I've pretty much settled on buying Outlook 2013 instead of any subscription models.  Office Home
and Business list price is $219 making a one time purchase cost $9639. I can do that once. (O365BP is $7,920 annual).   Outlook 2013 stand-a-lone will run me around $3500 once plus $2112 annual.  I'd really like the full office package.  I wish
the pricing worked out better for rural, light use businesses.
