Replace Primary Battery

I have my HP Pavilion dv4 Entertainment PC p/n: WA685UA; OS Windows 7 64-bit.
I have been using my laptop almost two years and my laptop crashed one night while I was doing my homework for an online class. I restarted my computer and troubleshoot it and unfortunately the only error message I can find is to replace my primary battery. So i ordered a replacement battery online knowing that I need to replace the external battery. Unfortunately this failed as well because I do not need to replace the external battery. I troubleshoot again my laptop and did a start up test/ battery test/ hard disk test/ and tune up test. Most of the problem that is indicated is it has a Failure ID of "Q0AAXG-00067U-XD7U21-C0CQ03." It also points me out to replace the "Primary (internal) Battery." Also, my laptop is out of warranty as it has been expired. Are there any other solution or how do I resolve the problem? Please assist. Thank you.

Hi
Please find the link given below might hlp you to resolve your issue. As per my your notes it seem like the External battery has failed which is on the back panel.

  • My hp laptop will not start up the screen states primary battery (601) im running a dagnostic test

My screen states primary battery (601) I was on it last night. It just stop I couldn't even logoff and I can't get it to start up.

Try a hard reset, works sometimes.Disconnect all external devices first.
    1-remove power cord and battery
2-press power button for 30 seconds
3-reinstall only power cord for first startup.
    4-power on
Btw- it may be a bad battery stopping it from booting. Leave it out and run with only power cord if needed until you can replace battery.

  • Type of battery -- mid 2010 13-inch macbook; and how soon do I need to replace dead battery?

I'm trying to replace the battery on my mid 2010 13-inch Macbook. I'm not sure what kind of battery I need to get, and can't seem to find any indication in "System Information". It's a "MacBook7,1" with Intel Core 2 Duo and Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz. I found this battery on amazon: "Apple MacBook Pro 13 Inch Mid 2010 Battery 60Wh, 5500mAh". Will it work? Do I need to get one with a particular power capacity, or anything like that?
I'm also wondering how quickly I need to get the problem fixed. My computer stopped working yesterday unless plugged into a power source. I don't really want to send it away to get it fixed, as I have a lot of work I need to do on it over the course of the next week. If I buy a battery online, wait for it to arrive, and install it (a process that will probably take at least 4-5 days), will I be leaving it too long? Or is it OK to continue just running my computer off the mains for now?
    Thanks!

PS: here's some other info I found, after my earlier post timed-out:
See how a determined DIY user with some skills & abilities could dissect & replace battery:

Example of what new replacement battery looks like, for your Mac; w/ part number:

Find an Apple Authorized Service Provider
    Visit an Apple Retail Store
An Apple Store or Authorized Apple service provider could replace the battery
for the cost of the part, and a fee for the tech time. This may vary by location.
Hopefully this helps. The part is not considered 'user replaceable' but it is possible.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • After changing the battery in my iphone 4s, the phone will not boot up. I only see the apple and when it sits for a few minutes, a code shows above it. What is going on? Did I damage the phone by replacing the battery?

My sister gave me her iphone 4s for my son. It needed a new battery so, I bought one and replaced it. after doing so, it will not power up. I can only see the apple on the screen and when left for a few minutes.... 10 lines of numbers and codes show up at the top of the screen. Did I ruin the iphone by replacing the battery? Was a simple switch so I don't understand what is going on. Have never had one of these before.

    iPhones are not user servicable.
Take the device to a competent repair person or buy a new one.

  • MacBook Pro 13 Early 2011 Battery Degradation to Not Detected, User Replaced New Battery also Not Detected, Please Help!

I have a MBP early 2011 13 inch and do not have Apple Care.  After I installed Mountain Lion I noticed the battery health was dropping pretty rapidly, with a service battery warning.  I tried resetting the SMC and PRAM and even a clean install.  I took it into an Apple store and they said I should have cycled it more, but I could still use it.  The health dropped and dropped until a battery would not even be detected.  Because Apple would not replace it for me for free and I didn't want to pay for them to do so, I bought my own battery.  Once I replaced the battery with the new one, it still says there is no battery connected.
When I detach the battery and then attach it again, the battery indicator lights on the side show 4 dots.  When I plugged in the MagSafe connector, the fifth light started blinking (I thought it was charging) and then it went back to all of them blinking indicating no battery detected.  The computer also automatically turned on when I connected the MagSafe.
I have tired multiple times to reset PRAM and SMC even after installing the new battery to no avail.  I can use the machine with the MagSafe connected, but as soon as the cord is unplugged or bumped, it goes into the emergency sleep mode.
Any thoughts on what might be ailing this not yet two year old machine?  My first Mac lasted 7 years before any logic board fail so I hope that is not it.  Anything I should try that I haven't yet?  Any ideas on what this might cost me through Apple?
    Thanks!

  • My MacBook Pro 13" won't turn on 90% of the time I try to get it running, and when it does turn on, even on a charger, it shuts down if I stop using it for 2  seconds and it won't turn back on. Should I replace the battery?

My MacBook Pro 13" won't turn on 90% of the time I try to get it running, and when it does turn on, even on a charger, it shuts down if I stop using it for 2+ seconds and it won't turn back on. Should I replace the battery?  It doesn't hold a charge either...

    EmadJamal,
the battery won’t melt because of long connection to the AC charger, although that has the potential of reducing the battery’s life.
Do you have access to a second 60 W AC charger to test with your MacBook Pro, or access to a second 13-inch MacBook Pro against which your AC charger could be tested?

  • Replacing a battery out side of the US or Europe

Hi everyone, Hi I am just wondering, what do I do if I need to replace my iPhones battery but I dont live in a country that iPhone is available YET? Could I just simply send it over to the US?
    Thanks

    You're welcome.
    1) why is apple so against unlocked iPhones
Because carrier locked phones is their business model. Apple gets a small piece of the monthly revenue from the designated provider for each subscriber with an iPhone. Each cellular provider Apple has a contract with is also interested in Apple not supporting unlocked iPhones.
    2) why wouldent they touch my phone just to replace my battery?
Unlocking an iPhone is against the software license agreement for the iPhone and voids the warranty. If you don't keep your part of the agreement, Apple isn't obligated to keep their part. If Apple repaired an unlocked iPhone or replaced the battery (anything that involves opening up an iPhone for a covered repair under warranty, Apple normally exchanges it for another iPhone - and the one returned is refurbished), it must be tested, etc. and may involve re-installing the current firmware version which can/does cause problems with unlocked iPhones.
Basically if you don't abide by the license agreement, Apple won't cover the iPhone under warranty (which is one of their parts of the license agreement), and won't repair it for a fee either - since they can't guarantee their work - or that the iPhone will work properly afterwards if unlocked. If one chooses to go their own way with the iPhone, it shouldn't be too difficult to go their own way to have the battery replaced or the iPhone repaired on their own.

  • My iphone 4s is over 2 years old and I need to replace the battery. How much will this cost at an Apple store?

I have an iphone 4s that is  over 2 years old. The phone's battery is no longer able to hold a  charge for an acceptable length of time.  Assuming I need to replace the battery, how much will this cost at an Apple store?

Basically, I'm new to Apple, despite using them before, but I've never actually owned my own.
Since buying this phone off a colleague at work, I seem to be having problems with it. First, I noticed how rubbish the battery life is, then my charger almost went up in flames and thirdly my camera lense is scratched beyond belief.
I know the phone isn't within warranty, although I was lead to believe it was before and during buying it, so basically I'm extremely disappointed with the general make up of iPhone's considering they cost such a **** of a lot of money, you'd think they'd be built to last.
Back to my main point, how much would it cost for a new battery? Or a new camera lense if anyone can help me with that? (I know that the back of the phone was refurbished just before my buying it, so literally just the camera lense)
    Thanks!
So basically it sounds like you bought an abused used iPhone and somehow that makes the phone subpar because dispite the abuse it should still last forever and look like new? Batteries don't last forever, even under ideal conditions, so your expectatoins are unrealistic. Take it in and have an estimate done.

  • IPOD Touch battery life is too short. Can I replace the battery?

My son's IPOD Touch has a battery life of about 30 minutes.  It is a refurbished model and wondered if there was a way to upgrade the battery?

  • Iphone 5 Battery efficiency is bad.....What will be the cost of replacing a battery in the apple store..??

what will be the cost of replacing a battery in the apple store..??

Apple has a battery replacement program for some devices sold between Dec 12 and Jan 13.
Check your device if it's eligible for this program or not https://www.apple.com/support/iphone5-battery/other_countries.html
Besides, go to any App Store and ask them to run ADR test for your device and will see the battery life. If it seems fail or consumed then you should replace the battery. If seems pass, then restore your device if you think battery drains too fast.

  • Will HP cover the cost of replacing my battery?

I have a HP Pavilion dv4-2145dx Entertainment Notebook PC  and recently, when I turn it on, a black screen opens and reads (something to the effect of):
"We have detected your battery needs to be replaced. Please go to **this website** for more info. "
Since my computer has an issue with overheating as it is, and without a battery dies in a matter of minutes, I'm not surprised of the issue.
My concern is whether this is a recall, or whether I'll have to front the cost of a new battery. And of course, HOW and WHERE do I do this all??
Any direction would be much appreciated! Thanks.

  • My computer has been seen at Genius bar 6 times for freezing up, reloaded all original settings and even went to the apple shop where they replaced the battery and logic board. Still freezes after I try to reload iTunes stuff and app stuff from apple

my computer has been seen at Genius bar 6 times for freezing up, reloaded all original settings, all of their diagnostics, and they even sent it to the apple shop where they replaced the battery and logic board. Still freezes after I try to reload iTunes stuff and app stuff from apple, especially iPhoto which is seems to refuse to load and then begins freezing up all over again. Anyone else have this problem. Other than this, I have had absolutely no problems with this computer. Now, it's a file of junk.

    Hi Ronald ...
Have you checked lately to see how much free space there is on the disk? Especially since iPhoto freezes at launch ...
Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.
And make sure the OS X software is up to date.
Click the Apple  top left in your screen.
From the drop down menu click:   Software Update
If you have anti virus software installed or are using third party Mac cleaning utiliites, that may be part and parcel of the your problems.
