Replaced iPod but lost setup CD - what to do?

Hi! I recently received a new iPod after my first hard drive crashed.
I'm trying to setup the new iPod, but I've lost the initial setup CD - what do I do? I've re-installed iTunes and the iPod updater, neither recognize the new iPod. I've tried using a friend's setup CD, but hers is from a mini ... which doesn't seem to be compatible.
Any ideas? I'm SO at the end of my rope here.

Hello Ashley,
You do not need the setup CD, you can get all the softwares you need on apple.com i.e. iTunes and iPod updater - thats all you need. The problem is your new iPod do not get recongized by your PC. Put it in disk mode and plug it again.

Itunes finds my ipod, but I cant see whats on it!

Hey everyone.
I updated to itunes 7.0. I plug my ipod in so I can listen to my music that is on my ipod that is not in my itunes library. It finds my ipod, but I cannot find a way of viewing my music on my ipod. I used to be able to do this fine in the old itunes, so what is wrong?

Click on the chevron > to the left of the iPod icon in the Source list. This will display the various icons for the iPod itself, Music, Movies, TV Shows and Playlists. Click on Music and you'll see the traditional song view with the information at the bottom.

Replacement Ipod Dead With Same Problems, what am i doing wrong?

I bought a Classic, it started to not play some of my songs, then it crashed, then i couldnt revive it or put anything on it, so i sent it back and received a new one promptly. Guess what, same problems, stopped playing some songs about a week ago, HDD makes strange sounds as if trying and failing to locate tracks, then i did a restore after i reworked my itunes library and now the pc is starting to not recognize it and cant add songs and restoring is a pointless option, ipod is full of songs up to the letter G after a failed library sync. Ok here's what I did: While the modem was still connected to my PC, my router was plugged in and just had power so I did the hard reset like you said. Then I plugged the modem into the router, reset my modem and plugged the ethernet cable back into my tower and Now it works. The only problem is that I have is that when i get to http://198.162.1.1/ and leave username blank and password admin, I keep getting 401 Unauthorized. I would really like to be on a secured network but I never could because the easylink advisor wouldn't work right and I couldn't get the laptop to get connected. Thank you for your help.

My Contacts are still on my IPod. If I choose to "SYNCHRONIZE CONTACTS" which will it do:
1)transfer my contacts from the ipod to my computer? or
2)transfer my contacts from my computer (none!) to my ipod?
if it does (2), then I loose all my contacts- they will be erased (overwritten with nothing).
if it does (1), then I save hours & hours of manually typing then into my computer.
If you know for sure what will happen, please let me know? Thank you!

Apple TV Keeps dropping , Just got a replacement today but does the same whats the problem

I went today to the Apple store in Fashion Center in Las Vegas , NV . Replaced my Apple TV Box 3rd Generation 1080 P and when the technisian gave me the new one told me if you will still have the same issue contact support? What a joke so they will charge me money to talk to them.
Well why it keeps dropping ? Just had a replacement where Apple never told any one of a recall , Apple is getting to be a cheating company and hope that a class action one day will make them pay fines of Millions of Dollars.I bought it at the Apple store and they have all my infor along with an Imac,MacBook Pro,Two Iphone 5's and an Ipad Air . Hey Thousands of Dollars spending of hard money and what Apple egnores you ? hey that is not right someone has to start a class action lawsute against them have them pay for all this.

I have many crashes with my Iphone 5 and my new Ipad Air and when ever i go to the Apple store there Tec people always says well you have to Reset all setting and then it will resolve the problem.I see that this is all they know, Mostly kids working there and it is not my first time that i hear this , RESTORE the Phone or the Computer or the Ipad thats all they know , They have no clue of whats going on ,I encorage you to go to Fashion Show Calleria and tell them that your Iphone keeps crashing all they will say right away Restore all settings and they did it to me but same issue presists , So today i did not want them to restore my new iPad air where the Tec Lady saw that it has crashed so many times.
This is a real joke i Google my TV Box and saw that since 2012 they where having issues with it and no one had let us know.I kept restarting the Apple Tv till last night when it got on my nerves and Googled it and saw that there was a problem that was going on for Two years.
So what do you guys suggest that i will do to resolve my problem,I count on you here at the forums more than counting on Apple.

My experience is that the dropping connection looks like a firmware 6.x issue, whereas losing home sharing already occurred in firmware 5.x Actually, I felt that the losing home sharing problem was at least partially solved in firmware 6.x
I also know that the home sharing issue is quite complicated and may be not related to the Apple TV at all (but more to the network / sleeping computer / iTunes).

Awww man got a new replacement ipod but not working!!

So recently i got a replacement from a nice guy for free and it was new i believe. So i plug it into my computer today, and i noticed that the screen wasnt responding! Help me please! Im always stuck on slide to unlock no matter what i do doesnt work, i tried sliding, nope i tried restarting, nope nothing will work!

Does it ask for a passcode? It does not sound like a new iPod since a new one would show the iTunes icon with a USB plug. You have to first connected a new iPod to your computer and activate it.

Can I get a replacement iPod?

I purchased a 4th gen iPod on the 8th of September last year, so it's still covered by the one year warranty.
About a month ago the iPod began to show these problems:
     -At times it will run slow. (This is the main problem)
     -I sometimes get problems with the camera, where if I record for more than about two minutes it will crash.
     -I also have a problem with the battery, where if I turn my iPod off, the battery runs out very quickly. I have since stopped turning it off.
     An example is: When I took the iPod to school, I would turn it off and when I got home the battery would be dead. But, if I leave it on for the day the
     battery still has a decent amount of charge.
I know I could just go to a tech shop and get the battery replaced, but the first problem I mentioned has become right annoying.
I'm wanting to get a replacement iPod, but am unsure how to go about it.
You see, these problems aren't something I can 'plan'. If I take it to the shop I purchased it from and they ask to see what I'm talking about, I can't just bring out my iPod and order it to malfunction. It happens randomly. So I'm worried that they won't be able to help me.
I know of an Apple store near me, if I had a letter or something from Apple, perhaps I could take it there and get a replacement without a hassle?
I'm pretty sure this is out of the question and I'm not expecting this; but am is it possible for me to get a money refund, so I could put in some extra money and get a 5th gen?

My 4th Gen 20GB iPod recently died and it couldnt be fixed so I was sent a replacement iPod but now iTunes wont recognise the new one, the computer recognises it. I have tried all the Rs but it still wont recognise it, please help!

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

You would have to ask the Police how they can find your iPod, if it's even possible. Your warranty with Apple covers defects in materials and workmanship, not loss.
