Replaced LCD and Digitizer, Now it won't power up

I just replaced the LCD and Digitizer on my 1st Gen iphone. Everything went well and I powered the phone up, prior to sealing it back to make sure it was working. I got the message that the battery was completely drained and then the screen went black. I plugged it in to run off of the power cord, and now nothing happens when I power up. I don't want to seal it back up until I get it working. Does the battery need to charge for a while? What could have happened from the time I plugged it in and powering up? Thanks

I sent the phone out to have the battery replaced. They said that replacing the battery did not fix it.
check out this image: http://www.hennosy.com/iphone.jpg
The part that is red flashes when I start it up. After about 5-10 seconds the screen turns off.
What does this mean? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

  • HP Support Assistant - Uninstalled and Reinstalled - Now it won't Work at all!

My HP Support Assistant was sticking on Creating Restore Point.   Well, I followed your instructions for this that was posted in numerous other threads and uninstalled HP Support Assistant and re-installed it, and now it won't do anything.  It opens up and the NEXT button is not highlighted so if I click on it nothing happens...it's totally worthless now.  What can I do to make it work again???  HELP!! (see image below - all I can do is minimize, enlarge or close that screen.  NEXT button does nothing!)
My computer is only 1 year old and I run Windows 8 - 64 bit.  Never had a problem with it before, but tried the Tune up and it was stuck on the restore point, so I followed your instructions, re-booted after un-installing and uninstalling, now it won't do anything.   I also tried restoring HP Support Assistant from the Recovery Manager and it's still doing the same thing - nothing.  How am I supposed to get my updates now???
    I have an HP Pavilion p6 2310.  I haven't installed Windows 8.1, it's just Windows 8.  Thank you.
    This question was solved.

Never mind...I fixed it myself.  I did a System Restore from the point before I un-installed and re-installed HP Support Assistant yesterday and now it's working again!!

  • *LCD and Digitizer Parts?

Hi all, does anyone know where i can buy quality parts to fix my iphone with. Specifically the lcd and digitizer for the iphone 4/4s. I know how to repair it and understand taking apart the phone voids the warrenty. I was just hoping someone could give me a reputable source to buy parts from. Thanks! PS. Im not taking it to Apple.

    Ryan,
I think you mean "with all DUE respect......".  You may not need a lecture on apples (sic) warranty process, but you could sure stand to learn a little spelling and grammar.

  • IPhone won't turn on after replacing LCD and Screen

My dad replaced the glass digitizer and LCD panel the screen won't turn on. what could go wrong that would cause this?
I plugged in into the wall charger and it made the charging sound but still the screen didn't turn on. The sound works and vibrator also. I held the home and power button and nothing happened. I took a snapshot and I heard the picture sound. I also hooked it up to my computer and iTunes synced it but still the screen did not turn on. What could I do to make my screen show and be able to use my phone again? Please Help!! Thanks in advance !

As deggie poined out, it could be any number of things. If your dad can't fix it, you may need to find a competent repair shop or buy a new phone. Apple will not service that one.

  • Replacing LCD and LCD Case

So, my AppleCare Protection Plan won't cover the replacement of the LCD and the LCD Case, so I was going to purchase these parts online, and I wanted to know if anyone knew how hard it actually was to do this task. All help is greatly appreciated.

It's not easy, but if you have the tools and some skills in dissassembly it can be done. Here is the instructions.
    http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Mac/MacBook/LCD-Panel/86/18/
You may also want to do a search for macbook repairs. There are some good companies that do the work a lot cheaper than apple.

  • My home button is getting stuck. I've purchased the express replacement plan and am now being told I didn't.  I love my iPhone but will not continue to pay for services over and over. I need my phone fixed but will not pay again.

I need help to repair my phone and purchase the express replacement plan in 2012 and am now being told there is no record of it. I need this done and seen about ASAP.

Apple does not have an "express replacement plan" so are you talking about the AppleCare program?  If so, and you did purchase that warranty extension, contact the plan by http://www.apple.com/support/applecare

  • I dropped my iphone 4s and now it won't power up, I dropped my iphone 4s and now it won't power up

I just dropped my phone onto asphalt from the car, about a 2.5 foot drop. The phone was wearing a case and no damage was done to the phone. the phone was off when I picked it up and will not power up. Any suggestions for how to fix this myself?

Apparently some damage to the iPhone did occur. Using a case doesn't guarantee zero damage when dropped depending on the case.
If the iPhone won't power on the normal way and the same with a reset, make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.

  • HT4528 My phone was charging and now it won't power on. Any suggestions?

I was charging my phone last night and was at 79% before I went to bed.  This morning the screen is black.  It won't power on.  I also connected it with my laptop that has itunes and it was not found.  Has anyone had this problem?  How do you fix it?

I found other posts that recommended holding the on/off power button and the home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears and disappears.  Then you can power the phone on.  This worked for me!

  • BIOS started and hung now it won't boot

I started the PC and I was able to get into the setup BIOS and hung now it wont boot.
Need to try something NEW manual only go so far.
    Thanks!

Have you tried with barabone setup and with board out of case?
find a way to test the CPU somewhere else to ensure its in working conditional.
Yes the PSU and swapping the processor to a working MB and the processor  worked.
have you plugged all power cables?  Yes if there is a connection on the MB and a cable they were connected.
try with different memory stick. NOT YET
If you missed the d-bracket then I'm thinking that something else is not properly connected or seated.  I though the same so I'm testing on a grounded static mat.
From the op it sounds like the ps is shutting down which could indicate that the cold boot inrush current exceeds its capacity or there is a short.
I would also check the power connections especially the smaller 4 pin floppy connectors.  If you are off by only 1 pin it will cause a short.
The only thing that I noticed it the CPU Fan has 3 connectors and the MB has 4.
Is it possible that the MB is dead?

  • First windows only safe mode boots. Now system won't power up. :(

    First A Hearty Thank You
First of all, thank you all for helping me with my issues here( https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threadid=50738&sid=&hilight=Bamaboy ).  And thanks Bas for the heads up on the 1 Gig of RAM thing with Windows98.  That's one possibility I hadn't even considered.  (But it still seems strange that it would even go into safe-mode witth the 1gig, does it not? )
But A Whole New Gremlin Rises To Challenge Me
But now I have a whole new issue that may prevent me from even trying your suggestions from before.  While experimenting on different ways to get my system running, I took off one of the front panel USB connectors and inserted the D-Bracket thingie, and the system booted once normally (well, normal meaning I could access the BIOS/Windows Safe mode, etc ).  And after that, it won't boot at all!
    *sigh*
How do I kill THIS Gremlin?
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could have been?  I didn't smell anything fun, so I don't think anything fried, but I could be wrong.  I've tried turning off and disconnecting the power supply, but nothing.  The fan don't come on, and I don't hear anything powering up at all.
    Any ideas?

Not sure exactly what I did to do the trick.  I unplugged one of the front panel USB connectors as suggested, and I turned off and unplugged the PSU and restarted.  And everything powered up!  I still have no idea why this worked, but I'm not complaining.
Now I'm at least back to square one of trying to figure out how to get Win98 to load up.

  • Power Mac G4 got moisture in it. Now it won't power on. What could of been damaged?Help!

I recently had my Power Mac G4 in my trunk and for some reason, there was moisture on the outside of the tower. Now it will not power on. There was no moisture on the motherboard but just around the power section. Could I have damaged anything else? Where should I start troubleshooting at? Is the hard drive damaged as well? Help.......

The area that is most vulnerable is also the area you can't easily see: the underside of the logic board where most solder connections are made. It would be easy for water droplets to condense on and around some of the projecting connectors. If a drop carried across two or more connectors and you turn it on....
I'm not too worried about the hard drive; they are usually well sealed against moisture.
It possible that the act of powering up the computer did damage. Normally, when one knows the computer is damp, you wait several days with the computer in a dry place to allow time for all moisture to escape.
I'd let it dry out completely before turning it on again. That might help as long as the first attempt to poweru pdidn;t fry something taht was damp. Once you get it going, see if there is a red light on the logic board. That tells you the power supply is working. As the PS is pretty open to the environment and has high voltage, hopefully if anything did fry, it's the replaceable, rebuildable PS.

  • Swollen battery, now Mac won't power up

My battery is swelling and I had resigned myself to working tethered until I HAD to purchase a new one. Last nite, my infant grandson yanked out the power cord and now I can't power back on. I get the green light on the AC adapter, and had always assumed that I could run the computer just from that source without the battery. Am I wrong or could the sudden disconnect possibly have tripped something that now prevents me from powering back up? Any one experience similar troubles?
    Teemflmngo

You should be able to run the MBP just from the power adaptor. You could have some directory corruption from the abrupt shutdown. See if you can boot from your install disc. If you can, navigate to Disk Utility and repair your boot disk and try again.
Have you removed the swelling battery? You need to--otherwise it can exert pressure inside the machine and potentially cause damage.

  • Replaced LCD and now laptop won't sleep

    Hi everyone,
My LCD on the MB Pro shattered so I ordered a new one and replaced it myself. Everything went quite smoothly, except now the computer won't sleep. When I shut the screen, the apple stays lit up and the sleep light never goes on. If I choose "sleep" from the Apple menu, the screen goes black and it does appear to sleep, but the sleep light never goes on. Anyone have a clue what I may have forgotten to reconnect? Thanks. Sy

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
One thing to check is to be sure the sleep LED is plugged into the logic board. Especially since it does not come on even when "sleep" is selected from the menu.
The other thing to check is the sleep magnet location on the LCD panel. Check that it is correctly positioned. Polarity makes a difference. If it is missing, replace it with a new magnet.
    Good luck!
