Replaced video in track

Question*
Without a great deal of training on DVD Studio Pro, I must meet a deadline within 6 hours (Thursday, 5 p.m. Pacific time)! I have prepared all the menus and tracks. In the course of preparing the final video version, I replaced the video and audio in the Main Track several times. The problem is that the Source video name has not changed to the newest video put in the track timeline.
When I built and formated a DVD copy, the original track was put on the DVD (as far as I can tell). How do I change the source of the Main Track to the name of the newest video track? I managed to change the name of the title at the bottom of the Green Menu Box (forthe Source track) in the Graphical section. Also, the name in the View to the left above the Timeline changed to the new video name. However, the name in the Connections files continues to show the old video name. In other words, the Source still contains the original video name.
Any suggestions in a hurry?

Thanks again for your kindness and good support. I had some trouble with deleting the first Source file from the Assets box because the source file was connected to two menus. Since my friend built the menus, I was not sure how to disconnect the first Source file from the menus. This meant that, while I could delete or move the PAR files, I was not able to delete the first Source file from the Assets.
So, I tried a slightly different approach. I changed the name of the first Source file in the original FCP Quicktime file to a completley different name. After doing this, I made a duplicate of the second Source file and renamed the duplicate the same name as the original Source file. Of course, I had to re-import the new first Source file with the same name and different video content into DVD Studio Pro. I used only the changed first Source video file and things worked after a lengthy delay building and encoding the recognizably different first Source file (with now different content).
Does this make any sense? Also, if you are reading this, would you mind explaining how to disconnect an Asset that is connected to the Menu in order to delete the asset file?
Anyway, I appreciated your help and effort.

  • How can I convert Itunes video albums tracks to ipod tracks

How can I convert Itunes video albums tracks to ipod tracks?

3pg is an odd format... That or I just never seen it before. :P
iTunes just ***** at converting videos. So far all videos I tried converting with iTunes have resulted in the same error you got.
You're better-off using 3rd party apps, and then copying to iTunes, and then copying to the iPod.
Unfortunately I don't know of any conversion programs for Windows.
If you by chance have a mac, this program works great: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/flv2itunes.html
The mac version of Handbrake below works great, hopefully the Windows version does, too:
    http://handbrake.fr/?article=download
When converting with handbrake, make sure to use the iPod preset for the out-put video.
    Hope this helps a little.

  • DVD Studio Pro 4 Looping Video/Audio Track to Continuously Replay?

Do I need to script to continuously replay video audio track?
Is there a template already written for a script?
    Thanks much,
    Chuck

Hi - welcome to the discussions.
You don't need to script it if all you want to do is repeat the track over and over. All you do is set the end jump of the track to go to the same track.
However, if you want to repeat just a short audio clip over and over whilst a longer video plays then what you do is add the audio repeatedly to the track until you get to the end of the video. You can't set the audio up differently to the video, you have to play both at the same time.

  • Replacing an audio track without re-encoding the video

I'm new to Audition CC so apologies for the basic question. I originally asked this in the Premiere Pro forum but I think it's more an Audition question..  I have AVCHD home video (MTS video with AC3 stereo audio) and have found I can clean up the audio, for example in speeches, very well in Audition. Is there a way to just replace the MTS's orginal audio track without re-encoding the video (which it seems I have to, if I do this via Premiere Pro)? In some cases the videos are poorly lit and any re-encoding makes them look noticeably worse than the original. In any event the video does not need re-encoding, I just need to replace the audio. Maybe I need to export the cleaned-up audio from Audition and use some other program to replace the audio in the original MTS file? Is that called re-muxing?  Thanks in advance for any help.

    Thanks Bob and Ryclark.
Bob, our aim is to copy these videos onto USB sticks, for our family to watch on our various home TVs, from a media player such as WD Home TV, a media PC or a laptop via HDMI cable. I expect the original MTS files, with cleaned up audio, will be fine. Media Info shows these to be video: AVC format, variable bit rate, 16.0 max bit rate, 1920x1080 pixels, 25.000 fps, 8 bit, interlaced; audio: AC3 format, 256 Kbps bit rate, 2 channels, 48.0 KHz sampling rate, 16 bits bit depth. I'm keen to avoid re-encoding the video, and it seems I can. My initial test worked and tonight (I'm in Australia) I'll test further... I can edit the AC3 audio in Audition, export it as a new AC3 with the same format as original, then use some other non-Adobe program to replace the original audio track with the new one, without touching the video.
Ryclark, I believe you are right. My novice-level understanding is that the process of separating the components of a video file such as my MTS file (video, audio and possibly others) into separate files is 'de-muxing' and putting them back together is re-muxing. Audition can save or export the original or edited audio track of my MTS file to a separate file so I assume that's like a specific audio de-mux. However I don't think Adobe products can re-mux without re-encoding the video (slow, larger resulting file size, worse video quality!), so I need some other program to replace my MTS file's audio with the new/edited audio.
So far I've found the free-ware Avidemux can do it but past experience is that free-ware can be a bit flaky or over time not as bullet-proof as a good/proven commercial product, so I'll look a bit further - or does someone in this forum know of such a product? HD Video Converter seems to be an option but it looks a bit amateurish.
By the way, if anyone is after a cut/join program to remove unwanted parts of a video without re-encoding the whole thing (ie. fast, same file size and unchanged video quality) I found Avidemux (free) only works on whole frames (GOP?) and the joins can have a little 'flick', whereas for $40-$50 a program like Fame Ring Smart Cutter for MTS videos (the Sony vidcam home video files I'm interested in) is frame accurate (it only re-encodes around the cut points) and works very well (smooth cut/join points). Smart Cutter doesn't do AVI videos (for my PC screen-recording videos) but I found SolveigMM Video Splitter Home Edition works well with those (not so well with my MTS files).

  • Need help replacing original audio track with song.

    Hi experts
I'm in the process of trying to create a movie for my daughters. What I did was film my daughters signing to a song that was playing on a CD player. I'd like to remove the audio track and replace it with the same song I purchased on Itunes. So far I able to import the video and song and put them on the timeline.
Now I can't never get the song I added to the timeline to play. How can this be done? And, please, point me to a good book
    Thanks,
    Francis Ouellet

Yes, I import both the movie and the song into the browser. Then I drag and drop the video into the timeline (V1) the corresponding audio track is moved automatically to A1 and A2. This plays well. Now I drag and drop my purchased song to the timeline (A3 and A4). If I hit the play button it only plays my video and sound (With a beep every second or so).
It just seems that the video and music tracks aren't linked together. Sorry, just purchased FCE this weekednd

  • Replaced title name track with "check"

Last year, my MacBook internal drive crashed. I had backups with the earlier version of Backup by Apple. I installed a new drive, did a clean install, and retrieved all the files I needed from Backup. I went back now and then to find other files, and was pleased with being able to recover them.
When I finally could replace the MacBook, I bought my current MBP. The older MacBook was not C2D, and I needed to run Lion and then Mountain Lion for some reason I can't remember now. I can't remember because I have been trying to recover from upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion, and Lion to Mountain Lion.
Since the update, MBP does not recognize previous Time Machine backups. I have performed clean installs about 4 times, following the advice from the support forum here and cross-referenced several online sources. I have performed:
    --Migration Assistant
--Taking all steps of MA, including trying to initiate Time Machine's recognition of my backups there.
The main trouble I am having is with iTunes. After the migration from MacBook to MBP, iTunes had an upgrade. Somehow, a few tracks from many albums appeared, but not entire albums.
I downloaded iRip and transferred my iPod music to iTunes. All went fairly well, encouraging. Now, however, I have almost 300 songs, books, and other media with the name "check" (without quotes). I had over 800 immediately after the transfer, but I was able to recover over 500 song and book titles by pressing the control key as I clicked on a song title. When one worked, I selected all items named "check" and created a smart playlist named "check." I control-clicked, and many titles were restored.
Now, I am struggling with two additional problems:
    1. The 300+ titles are mostly music I purchased on iTunes. Is there a known problem with iRip and purchased music? I dread going one by one to change the titles. Is there a more efficient way? (I've been working at this for a year, have not yet gone to the Genius Bar, but tomorrow might be the day I make that long trip.)
    2. While I am pleased to have my iPod music, podcasts, books, iTunesU and other files from my iPod, I am missing a lot of music that I had unchecked last year. All of my holiday music was unchecked, and that started my attempt again to recover my entire collection. I do not understand why my purchased music is not available for me to re-download it, but I've so far not been able to work with the purchased files, other than to see the lists of all purchases since 2004.
I hope someone/s has/have worked through these issues and might share some suggestions. Thanks in advance.

  • Do I need to replace video graphic card or power supply unit on hp compaq presario sr2180nx

    hello all
i saw a similar post over 4 years ago, however it doesn't address my issue.
my pc started stalling when i attempt to turn it on.  It wouldn't come on. Then after several tries every now and then it would come on. I was told through searching that it could be the video graphic card or the power supply. Therefore once i had the computer back on.  I never shut it off. However, i could reboot and it would come on.
Now it won't come on again. So i don't know what to replace. The video graphic card or the power supply.  If it is the graphic card, do i replace the one previously installed or add a new one. And if adding a new one, what is recommended to be compatible with my 300 watt supply unit? I'm lost as what route to take and how.Below are the details of my unit.
HP/Compaq Presario SR2180NX desktop PC with a P5LP-LE motherboard with an Integrated graphics using Intel GMA 950.
*Integrated video is not available if a graphics card is installed.
Also supports PCI Express x16 graphics cards
    300 watt supply.
thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Is there an add-in video card in the slot? If so, remove it and try to turn on. If the problem is the video card it will turn on. If not it is the power supply.

  • How do I add more than one video per track/layer?

    Hi.
Could someone please advise me how I can add more than one video to a track/layer?
I'm cutting and pasting parts and each time I paste, a new track/layer is added.
The final video is going to be approximately 5 minutes long.
I am 17 seconds in and have 54 tracks already!
    How do I stop this?
    Thank you very much
    J

More video tracks. This is actually what you want.
Unless you're just making a still image (like Photoshop), multiple layers give you control to animate each individually. (If it's just a Photoshop comp you're after, you may want to create it in Photoshop)
If you want to move ALL OF THE VIDEO TRACKS TOGETHER, you can use
    parenting or
precompose those individual layers into a single composition.

  • Delete and replace video in iweb

I have iWeb 3.0.4 (iWeb '11 I think). I want to delete a YouTube video on my video page and replace with another YouTube video, or simply call up the YT widget and change the URL address to the video I want. I can't seem to delete the old video and when I drag over the widget to the video and type in the new URL it simply overlays my new video on top of the old one so I have 2 videos in that spot. Is there a relatively simple solution to make this replacement of one video with another?

First click on the existing video and use the Delete key.  Then add the new HTML snippet with the YouTube embed code.

  • T500 - Replacing video card

I recently bought a T500 @ $1.3k but the video card it came with is a mere 265mb Radeon HD 3650, is it possible to replace this video card (and what are some cheap/effective alternatives if I wanted gaming?)
P.S.- How accurate are the estimated shiping days? I can't wait 10 days!!!...
Message Edited by arcainic on 05-19-2009 02:29 AM

No, You cannot upgrade the graphics card. Unfortunately Thinkpad's aren't designed for gaming. I however think you'll be pleasantly surprised that the 3650 is a decent graphics card. Not top of the line, but definetly holds it's own. Of course, with Thinkpad's battery life and build quality are through the roof so the laptop will make up for it in other areas.

  • Move audio and video between tracks simultaneously

If I have a video clip on V1, with linked audio on A1, I would like to move them both to V2 and A2, respectively, at the same time.  Is this possible?  I like to work this way to easily keep track of which video goes with which audio.

There is a practical logic why one moves Audio and Video separately.
Audio does not care what track its on...but video does (layering).
Audio tracks are frequently checkerboarded (  A&B'd) to create overlaps and enable J & L Cuts to Video.
It would be too easy to overwrite audio if it chased video track for track.
You need to use track and source targeting to organise your timeline if thats your requirement.
If the Video and Audio are linked

  • HT4152 replace video card

    Hi,
I'm 99% sure my video card needs to be replaced. When I try to turn the machine on, you hear it boot up, but the screen won't come on. I tried a couple of reset options I find online, but that didn't work. I hooked it up to a monitor and the screen still didn't come up on the separate monitor which is why I think it's the video card.
All that being said, I have no idea what video card I should use. Any advice would be great. I don't want to spend more than $50 on it b/c this macbook pro is 7 years old.
    Thanks,
    Kristen

    Hi Kristen,
With a MacBook Pro, some models have the graphics module as part of the logic board, some as a small board connected to the logic board.  Some, the graphics "chip" is an integral part of the central processor itself.
Only way to tell for sure what is happening is to take the MBP to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs test it.  They have far better diagnositc tools than we mere mortals have available.  The testing is free and they can then advise what needs to be done and cost.
Make an appointment, Apple Retail Store lookup below in blue, Genius bar, Make an Appointment, since they can get really, really busy.

  • How do i replace video without putting all of audio out of sync?

    hello,
i am trying to replace a video clip with an alternative clip while keeping the original audio, but everytime i select a clip to replace, it does so but puts the audio out of sync starting from where i inserted the clip...help!
    Thanks,
    steven

First, go into iMovie/Preferences and make sure that the Advanced Tools are enabled.
Next drag and drop the alternate clip from the Event to the frame in the project where you want it to start. A pop-up menu will come up. Choose "Cutaway".
