I ordered a replacement AC adapter for my W500 and got a 135W (6.75A) can I use this when the old one is a 90W (4.5A)

Yes, it should be workable as long as the new AC adapter provides more power than the old one, as well as having the same round connector.

Buying the right replacement power adapter for HP Envy

The original power adapter for my brother's HP Envy Touchsmart laptop has appears to have partially melted. I'm trying to find the correct adapter to use as a replacement, but I have questions because it looks like he will have to order one of the Smart adapters, which is not what he used originally. The product number is E0M27UA#ABA. If you need any more information just ask and I will try to post it as quickly as possible. Thank you in advance for any help you can give us.

Replacement power adapter for 2008 MacBook Pro

Does anybody know if you can get a replacement power adaptor for the 2008 MacBook Pro. Mine crapped out and I'm freaking because the one they have for sale does not look like it will work, help PLEASE!!!!

If I think I know what your saying, it sounds like the store only had the Magsafe 2 connectors for the new model Macbook Pro's. The good news is yes stores still sell both Magsafe 1 and Magsafe 2 adapters. My advice would be to just take your adapter into the store and show the sales person what you need.

But before switching the power, one should figure out the polarity of connectors. It's not the first time Creative power supplies show below average reliability. I think Creative should choose top quality power adapter suppliers, such as Antec, Delta or Seasonic, not some cheaper lower quality parts.

i have M5300 speaker system which its adapter died today....i replaced it with a universal ac adapter which outputs 12V - 200mA..
the original ac adapter read 12V - 2.9A ......
after replacing the ac adaptor, i could not pump the sound up as it becomes very distorted esp the bass.....
is this amp difference causing the problem? any suggestion plz

Replace power adapter for Tecra 8100

I have Tecra 8100 where its original power adapter has died. I need to buy a new one, but I found that Toshiba has replaced the PA2444U adapter model with a new model. Which power adapter model that is now compatible with Tecra 8100?

The Tecra 8100 will function with many adapters from Tecra 8000, 8200, 9000, 9100 and the M1, M2 range etc.
There are of course differences in the output current rating, but in practice it is still possible to use a higher output adapter without issue, provided the voltage is 15V DC.
For example, I am currently using a model PA2450U (15V, 3A) plugged into my Tecra 9100 port replicator and this works fine. The only potential down side is that it might take longer to charge the battery than it would with the correct model (which would be rated 4A).
This means you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a suitable substitute.

How to replace power adapter for PowerBook G4

I have a three year old powerbook G4 and the power adapter is toast (at least I think that's the problem). Doesn't charge and no illuminated ring around the connector to the computer.
Does anyone know how to replace this? Can't find it anywhere online or at Mac retailers.

Replace the power adapter plug? Most folks won't bother, it's a hassle. The whole adapter is easily available from any Mac vendor. But before replacing anything, have you tried the following:
-reset the Power Management Unit (PMU)

-reset the PRAM

-unplug the power adapter from the wall socket for a while to reset.

Anyone know any reputable sites that sell ac adapters for MSI notebooks? And is it possible to use a "smaller" one? The one this came with is freakin HUGE!

I would NOT replace the delivered one with a smaller one.
The default isn't that big, it's as small as it needs to be to deliver the needed power.
If you connect a smaller one it can burn up OR destroy the entire laptop.
You asked a gaming laptop, they have bigger power needs.
Gaming and little power don't go hand in hand!

Can you believe someone stole my power adapter, but not the player itself? WTF?
Gotta love NYC. Anywho, I looked on the site here and did not see a power adapter listed for the ZenTouch 20GB. Anyone know if this exists or not? I saw one for the Zen Nomads, but they didn't list any of the ZenTouch models. Would appreciate some help on this.

Where buy Power Adapter for cheapest Zire

I have a Zire from a couple years ago, the cheapest one you can buy. So cheap it wasn't on display where you had to get a slip and ask customer service to get the item for you from the back. You could just get it off the shelf, it was so cheap. It think it was called Zire 1 or something. Where can I buy a replacement power adapter for it?

Replace Smart AC Adapter for HP 17-E054CA Notebook

I have a new HP17-EO54CA and it came with a Smart AC Adapter. I keep getting messages that I should purchase a higher output AC adapter as it may be needed for some applications.
I don't know how to do this. i have Googled about as many combinations as I could think of, and I'm pretty good at finding things on the web, but I cannot find how to replace this adapter with a higher output one.

What is its wattage now ? Is it a 90W PSU which comes with the machine ? You may need a 120W charger. My loan machine (Envy 17 - same shape, size and very close specs) comes with a 120W charger.
