Replacement AC Adapter - Output Discrepancy

I bought a replacement power adapter on ebay, the specifications for the non-apple replacement matched exactly. The one I received though is slightly different: output of 2.65A instead of 1.875A as stated on the original A1036 adapter. The vendor assures me this is acceptable, but I don't want to cook anything. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Dave

Hey Dave,
Well I'm sitting here on a 1.2 14" iBook and just read your post. I looked at my power adapter and it's a 65 Watt adapter outputting 24.5 Volts @ 2.65 Amps model A1021. Didn't realize I had one. I never even look at the Amp rating but the 65W A1021 is considered an upgrade from the A1036 and is usually more expensive. If you had a larger PowerBook it would require this adapter.
So upshot is I apparently have both ( about 5 all together ) and use both interchangeably. The iBook is not going to care how many Amps the adapter is capable of putting out. It will only use what it needs.

  • Fourpoint Surround FPS 2000 Digital - Replacement AC Adapter?

Yeah, anyone reading this is thinking, "That system is ancient! Didn't that come out around EAX 1.0?" Indeed, friends, indeed. And a faithful and wonderful system it has been. I would love for it to continue its service in my home, too, if I can locate a replacement AC adapter. Go figure. Speakers still work, but without power what good are they? Again, I'm looking for the AC adapter for the Cambridge Soundworks Fourpoint Surround FPS 2000 Digital speaker package. It features 5VDC 3A output. I'm a bit hesitant to PAY to ask Creative if they can help me through customer support. =/ Especially for such an old system that gets no recognition on their site at all. =) Thanks all! -Rober

Cambridge Soundworks FPS2000 Digital System Model#: C5W500AC Adapter Model#: TEAD-66-53000U Hope that helps.
I just found a generic transformer at Radio Shack (gag me!) and they want $90US (again, please) which is a bit more than I ever plan to pay for a Radio Shack part. At $90, I'd just save up and buy one of the newer model systems. =/

  • Replace E1- Adapter with Business Services

    Hello,
We are using E1-adapter to communicate with web Methods ( like calling business function, table IO etc..), now we are planning to replace E1- adapter with Business Services. We are using tools 8.98.11 and Application Release E812.
Question is , is it possbile to create a wraper to call any business functions just like E1-adapter? Any help is greatly appriciated.
    Thank you.

Yes, you can use the JDE Business Service Server to simulate the E1-Adapter associated with webMethods. Oracle provides out of the box Business Services for a majority of the E1 transactions. We have implemented Business Services Server with our webMethods and it is working very well.

  • Replacement AC Adapter for W500

    Hi,
I ordered a replacement AC adapter for my W500 and got a 135W (6.75A) can I use this when the old one is a 90W (4.5A)
    TIA
    Solved!

Yes, it should be workable as long as the new AC adapter provides more power than the old one, as well as having the same round connector.
    Have a nice day!

  • Help with WRVS4400N - Need to find a replacement AC Adapter

Hello, I have a Cisco WRVS4400N V2. I need to find a replacement AC adapter and the stands if possble. Can anyone direct me to the right place? Thanks.

    Mike,
unfortunately we do not stock or have product numbers for the AC adapter or the stands. Any universal AC adapter should work provided that it provides the following power requirements:
    Power
    12V 1A

  • Replacement MagSafe Adapter

The cable on my current one is becoming exposed, will I be able to get a replacement from my warranty or will I have to buy a new one?

Sounds familiar - After 2 yrs failing to train my dog to limbo under the power cord the inevitable happened and the original grossly underdesigned "strain relief" at the magsafe end failed.
After some lengthy and tedious run-a-rounds thru my local Apple Servicer I eventually got a replacement from Apple Care UK posted direct to me.
    If the link below works....
...then you should see the top cable with a noticeably shorter "strain relief" than the lower newer replacement. If the length on your cable SR is less than 0.25 inch and you haven't been practising the hammer throw with it at the highland games then you probably have a reasonable justification for a warranty repair.
Now if your still in Warranty and depending on how far you are from your nearest Apple Service/Repairer you might want to check:
    1. Whether they have a replacement Pwr adapter in stock (mine insisted they don't keep them!?! but only after 24 hrs delay while - )
    2. they take your defective item for analysis.
    3. that their database confirms your unit serial number is still in warranty (mine insisted that they didn't have Apple Care registered to me- but only after keeping me waiting for 24 hrs!)
Alternatively if you have Apple Care it might be more convenient to ring them and they'll send you one on Self Repair..... but do check whether they want the old one returned as they requested me to return mine but when I received the replacement the accompanying documentation specifically stated not to return the defective unit!!!
(A keen observer will note the that from the bold font on the letter in the picture)
Which then demonstrates the final exasperation with Apple because there doesn't appear to be any UK email address to contact Apple Care?
Anyway - good luck with yours....

  • Replace power adapter for Tecra 8100

    Hi support,
I have Tecra 8100 where its original power adapter has died. I need to buy a new one, but I found that Toshiba has replaced the PA2444U adapter model with a new model. Which power adapter model that is now compatible with Tecra 8100?
Thanks. I really need an answer because I need to work with the laptop.

The Tecra 8100 will function with many adapters from Tecra 8000, 8200, 9000, 9100 and the M1, M2 range etc.
There are of course differences in the output current rating, but in practice it is still possible to use a higher output adapter without issue, provided the voltage is 15V DC.
For example, I am currently using a model PA2450U (15V, 3A) plugged into my Tecra 9100 port replicator and this works fine. The only potential down side is that it might take longer to charge the battery than it would with the correct model (which would be rated 4A).
This means you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a suitable substitute.

  • S-Video and Composite Adapter Output Flickers, is B&W, etc.

    Okay, here are the details:
    - Bought a new *Mac Pro (2009)* Quad 2.66
    - Customized with an *ATI Radeon HD 4870* card
    - Current OS version: 10.5.7
    - Attempting to use *Apple's DVI-Video adapter* (works fine with my G5)
    - Poor, flickering, black & white, duplicate, partial signal appears on TV using either composite (RCA - yellow) or S-Video
    - There is *no literature anywhere* that states whether this adapter is supported (or not)
    - ATI cards have traditionally (before the 4870, not sure about the previous Mac Pro model's ATI cards) been able to correctly output analog video signals using this adapter
    - Apple's phone support personnel say *it should work*
    - Tried a *newer adapter at a service provider with no difference* in the results
Any help, advice, etc. is appreciated.
PS - If I can't find a solution that doesn't involve buying anything extra, I'm considering getting the DVI-VGA adapter with a VGA converter box (VGA in, S-Video and Composite out) which seems to be the only viable alternative (as getting a new card won't help when/if I get a Mac Mini for movie watching).

    Hi Com,
I don't have an answer for you but maybe in the comments about it someone has said something helpful: http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9267G/A
I think that Apple would like to say all it's adapters work fine but I don't think that's really the case. The VGA to Mini Display adapter I just bought was only able to coax a very limited amount of resolutions from my CRT. Other people are finding other adapters not being up to snuff and buying this one as a cure. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB571Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDA3Ng&mco=MjE0ODQ2Nw
But even this has it's problems.
I hope someone else writes in to help. I hope there's a work around for you. It's just hard to know what is Apples responsibility to do and yours. Yours I don't believe should be an issue if the adapter worked right.

  • Does the video adapter output both S-Video and Composite simultaneously?

I have a multi-zone receiver which converts S-Video to component for the main zone and passes S-Video signals through to zone 2 but does not convert them to composite which is how that zone is set up. I solved a similar problem with my DVD player by connecting both the component output and composite output of the DVD player to the receiver allowing high quality viewing in the lounge room and passable viewing in the bedroom.
I realise the quality from the adapter is questionable particularly for composite but I'm still interested if both S-Video and composite signals are output from the MBP 17" via the adapter simultanesouly.
    Thanks,
    Max.

I have a follow-up question which may help answer the original question. Does the MBP have to detect the external display when connected via S-Video/Composite in the same way that it has to when connected via DVI? My Dell notebook had so much trouble detecting composite and S-Video connections that eventually I gave up so I'm a little "once bitten twice shy" on this. If the MBP doesn't attempt to detect the external display via S-Video or composite then it must output both S-Video and Composite signals continuously (which would be great).
    Thanks,
    Max.

  • Lightning Digital AV Adapter output 5.1 sound problem

    Dear all,
I tried search over web and could not find the actual answer for my issue with Lightning Digital AV Adapter
I bought Lightning Digital AV Adapter that wanted to output movie (with AC3, AAC track ) to my LCD TV via Yamaha Sound Bar YSP 2500.
But I could not get the 5.1 AC3 sound pass through from my iPhone 6 or iPad Air to Yamaha Sound Bar YSP 2500. It did not detect any 5.1 sound.
If anyone know Lightning Digital AV Adapter having hardware limitation to output or pass through 5.1 AC3 . Hope to find some answer in this forum. Thanks.

  • Buying the right replacement power adapter for HP Envy

The original power adapter for my brother's HP Envy Touchsmart laptop has appears to have partially melted. I'm trying to find the correct adapter to use as a replacement, but I have questions because it looks like he will have to order one of the Smart adapters, which is not what he used originally. The product number is E0M27UA#ABA. If you need any more information just ask and I will try to post it as quickly as possible. Thank you in advance for any help you can give us.
