Replacement comms board.

Hi, I have replaced the comms board on my original iphone, as the wifi had died. when reconnecting to itunes, it says the iphone is not recognised, and cannot be activated.
I think this is because the new comms board has a different imei, and may not be in apple's database?
If I reconnect the old board activation works fine. How can I get this new board activated?

i can understand that you want to fix your own macbook, but with a logic board, don't even try. to even want to try to fix a logic board requires an extensive knowledge of the internal components and access to the Global Service Exchange (frankly, if you had access to this, you wouldn't be here).
the tech at my school wouldn't even dare let me try to replace a logic board in a computer though i've done several repairs before.
there is a reason that Apple products are non-user serviceable. don't even try, because if you do and you break something, you could end up voiding your warranty and you could end up paying a whole lot more for repairs in the future.

I'm not aware of any mechanism in Javascript that can help with this. In our fully-internationalized web applicaiton we choose to perform all locale-dependent validation server-side. This includes dates, numbers, currency values etc. About the only thing we check in Javscript is that required fields are filled in.
I'd be interested in knowing if anyone has solved this in Javscript. Its possible that you could dynamically generate a Javscript validation routine based on the locale-specific formatting symbols, but we decided it wasn't worth it.

Replacement logic board for my 20" cinema display?

I'm looking for good place online to buy replacement logic board for my 20" cinema display. Any suggestions?

You could ask the Apple store to let you have (or buy) one of the boxes they use to send the displays in for repair. They should have these on hand.

Replacement of board

i bought HP notebook recently about a month ago. one day i found out that my notebook is not booting anymore. i went to the dealer shop where i bought my notebook to have a look. they told me that motherboard is damage. my complain is why the authorized shop of HP is taking time to take action in replacing the motherboard of my laptop it is almost a month now since a gave them for repair. is it normal to take this much time to replace the board if the product is still under warranty?

May be they are just middle men, they have to pack and send the machine back to the factory. Depending on few factors, 4 weeks or 6 weeks is normal.

That's what it says, mine did too and was out of date. when Lion killed it.
Don't bother fixing it, it's a 4 year old machine and at it's end of life anyway, something else will just die on it, like the keyboard, the superdrive, the hard drive etc etc.
Wth all the money you'll spend fixing it, you could have a new machine.
Mac' laptops only last aobut 4 years with daily use now.

Do replacement logic boards have serial numbers?

Hello everyone. My MacBook is in the shop for a logic board replacement. I've read elsewhere on this board that when you receive a replacement logic board that the serial number is no longer available from the System Profiler? Is this accurate?
The reason I'm concerned is that my MacBook does not have that information available on the battery bay where it's supposed to be. According to Apple, there is supposed to be a gray sticker underneath the battery on the computer that shows the Ethernet ID and the serial number in addition to directions on how to change memory. My computer has never had this gray sticker.
I'm concerned because, if the above is true, there will be no way to identify my computer or to associate my AppleCare agreement with this particular machine.

The boards themselves might, but when they're installed into your system it shows up blank in the about my mac preference pane. They can't write your SN into the board of a replacement. Checking under the battery you should be able to locate the SN. However you stated that this is missing.
I'd dig for your original receipt or box as the SN is one both of those items. Or you can try ringing apple or the store you bought it at and give your name, phone and email. They keep records of purchases at the stores on file, and also when registering. The mere fact that you've had it serviced means AppleCare should be able to provide that information to you by looking up your past case number. Make AppleCare add a note to your account that the sticker came up missing after the repair as to avoid issues with further service.

V890 rebooting after replacing CPU board

Hello,
We have a V890 that we had Sun replace a system board on it. It was system board a which had 2 1.8 processors on it. The original system board was replaced because the CPU's were running to hot. Well after the swap the server ran for 20 minutes and rebooted itself. Looking in the log files, all we see is the following message: unix: [ID 796976 kern.notice] System booting after fatal error FATAL Sys Hardware
Sun is coming out with a new board tomorrow, but I thought that I would ask and see if anybody had any ideas. I guess bad luck that a new board is bad?
Any special steps that need to be done after the installation of the new board like a boot -r?

According to Apple's service source individual fan failure has two causes: the failing fan itself or the logic board. You replaced the board, so in your situation where one of the fans doesn't seem to receive any electric power, look for cable damage or bend pins inside the connectors.

I have task where I have to write result file to application server, when I am writing string to application server it is separating by comma, for example if you take below statement it is dividing by space that means in first column PO and then ITEM etcu2026.

Replaced logic board, but still having problems

I just got my Mac back from the shop. It had been spontaneously shutting off and, since my serial # was within the range for the replacement program, they replaced the logic board. (I thought it was the power supply that was buggy? Meh. I only half-understand this stuff anyway.)
Set it up last night and it worked smoothly. Put it to sleep before I went to bed. This morning, it wouldn't wake up--the power was off.
Gah! I'm beyond frustrated. What now?!

Call Customer Relations-1-800-767-2775. I think the number is the same for Canada.
Firmly, yet politely, explain your situation to them and have them open up a case number. That is the official way to essentially alert Apple to the potential misbehaving of their "Apple Certified Repair" centers.
It does happen that a repair center will replace a board with another one that turns out to be faulty. Happens. But Apple should know about this and follow the process.
I would take the stand that they should return a functional Mac to you first, and if the fan turns out to still be an issue you can deal with it later. Sounds to me like "the guy" may need to follow some logical troubleshooting procedures first to fix his problem.
You do not have a piece of crap, nor should you accept such a fate. Generally, if Apple cannot fix this by the third try they will replace your machine. This is not a given fact, but calling Customer Relations will begin the process.

The 2011 MBPs do not have USB 3 Ports.
Check with iFixit.com and Powerbookmedic.com for logic boards for your MBP. They will have prices and installation instructions.

Apple store replaced logic board backlit keys no longer work

So about a week ago I had to have the logic board replaced because airport would connect only half the time. The apple store did fix the problem, but only one more thing, the backlit keyboard no longer is recongnized, its like the employees didnt plug it back up, my main question is is that I have to have the laptop for school, how long would it take the apple store to fix or if its simple could I fix myself.

I would make another genius bar appointment, they could do it while you wait in the store. I understand this is the preferred policy now at the genius bar to prevent them from taking in all sorts of machines. If they are busy they will have to make the repair after hours when the store closes. They will usually quote something like 1-3 business days but in my experience it has usually been 1-2 days.

Replaced logic board...iTunes now says "not authorized to play music"

I had the logic board replaced in my Mac Book Pro, restored my 4GB iPod Mini, downloaded iTunes 7.4, and now, when I try to sync with the iPod, I get a message that says that I am not authorized to play any of the music on this computer. I've authorized the computer via Store-->Authorize Computer and have only 2 of 5 computers authorized. I'm wondering if iTunes is seeing my MacBook Pro as a new copmputer because it has a new logic board. I did not lose any hard disk content, so I'm wondering what else the problem could be. Anyone have any ideas on how to approach this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cost of Replacing Logic Board at Apple Store

At the current moment, my 13" macbook pro no longer recognizes the wifi hardware. Running OSX 10.10, I thought this was the root of the problem. Support helped and solved the issue but it quit the minute I hung up the phone. It is possible that I will need to replace the logic board in order to get everything working again (although I may just buy a wifi adapter) and was wondering what the cost of replacing a macbook pro 8.1 logic board is, just so I don't have a heart attack in the store. Logic boards typically run $500 and up...take the the MBP to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs run their diagnostics to determine the exact issue. They can then quote an accurate price if physical repair is needed.

Replaced system board? How to restore system serial number with a CD.

I have an l412 with a defective system board- would not POST. So I replaced the system board (it's a year out of warranty) and booted up, only to be met with an error code about a sytem serial number mismatch. Boots OK, but system update does not work (because of the serial number mismatch).

When the computer was manufactured, the EEPROM on the system board was loaded with the serial numbers of the system and all major components. These numbers need to remain the same throughout the life of the computer.
If you replace the system board, you must restore the serial number of the system unit to its original value.
You need the LENOVO ThinkPad Hardware Maintenance Diskette to do this. This floppy disk is only available to certified Lenovo service centers. Or those who know how to use google. Versions 1.75, 1.76 and 1.83 are the ones I have used. If you can't find them, you probably should not be trying this anyway.
You read that correctly- DISKETTE. As in floppy disk. How many laptops have one of these? Now you see the problem.
The real trick is HOW to do this- without a USB floppy drive. If you have one of these, stop, you don't need to know this.
For the rest of us....
First, find a computer with a floppy drive. Any computer.
Extract/install the HMD archive onto it. Follow the instructions in the file to make an HMD floppy disk.
Use this program http://www.boodaa.de/index.php/download-mainmenu-31/bootdisk2bootstick-mainmenu-44 to make an image of the floppy. Be sure to save it as a .img type, not .bin
Use this program http://paulski.com/zpages.php?id=1814 to create a bootable CD image using the floppy .img file you just made.
Burn the ISO to a CD and boot from it.
At least on my L412, it works!
