Replacement enter/return button for wireless keyboard

Hello,
I have an Apple Wireless Keyboard [MC184LL/B] and the enter/return button has broken off and will not reattach. I can see that the small clips on the back are damaged. Is it somehow possible to get a replacement button?

Since that is actually an Apple Mac product ,suggest you contact either an Apple Store genius bar or an Apple Authorised service provider

  • On off button for wireless keyboard.

    Hi out there,
    I just bought my first IPad and am learning about it. A couple of questions... How do I write letters separately from email and store them?
    Secondly I bought a wireless keyboard at the same time. I my Be stupid, but cannot locate the on/off button for the keyboard.
    Thanks anyone.

    You can use the built-in Notes app to write and store.  You can get more sophisticated writing apps from the App Store.  Browse a list here:  http://appshopper.com/search/?search=Text+writer
    On the Apple wireless keyboard, press the right end of the battery tube to turn the keyboard on and off.  Unscrew the left end cap to replace the batteries.

    I have a macbook pro with OSX Mavericks 10.9.5 and some keys randomly are not working. Specifically, the enter/return button, the "p", "0", ";", and all the function keys.  What's really weird is that happens randomly.  I've never spilled anything on it, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to fix this.  Can anyone help?  of course this happened after my warranty expired.

    **update**
    I don't know if this will help someone but I am posting this for that purpose.  In the past when I first had this problem, I'd read a post somewhere (sorry, long ago, don't have the link) where an individual was having the same problem and they stated that when the MBP got heated, that's when the keys would stop working, and they went into the MBP and jiggle some stuff around (a specific wire, I'm not electronically inclined so I know NOT of what they spake!).  Well I didn't want to do that but it always stuck in the back of my mind.  I had given up, really, and was planning to take my MBP to the apple store.  But by chance one night I left my MBP on the floor where it's cool, and when I turned it on, the problem went - poof! It seems there was some validity to the post that spoke about heat, because my problems started when I would stream foreign dramas on my MBP for hours at night, and I would hear the fan going off all the time, and in the mornings, my "p", "enter", "0", ";", and all the function keys would stop working.
    So, maybe try keeping the MBP in a cool place when it's off.  Since I've started doing this overnight every night (keeping it on the cool floor, out of reach of any big feet), I have not had a single problem with my keyboard.
    Hopefully this might help someone.

  • My iPod touch 8GB screen has been cracked. It is still under the Wal-Mart 2 year extended warranty, but I really want 5th generation! Any way to get it replaced then return it for money back or even get a discount on it??

    Apple will only give you a 10% discount if you turn that one in and purchase the new one.
    I do not know if the WalMart warranty covers accidental damage like a broken screen.

  • Button for block keyboard

    I work on a Kids Program and i want to add a button for blocking keyboard. I search on Google and on Social.Microsoft but i don't see. Thanks!

    O.K.
    Why are you not posting your question in a forum that is about programming with Visual Studio?
    Or programming in a specific language like VB.Net or C# .Net or C++?
    You posted your question in a forum called "Project Server General Questions and Answers". You could've posted in any of hundreds of forums yet for some reason you decided to post in this forum for a question which has nothing to do with Project
    Server.
    Therefore try finding a Forum for posting your question in which would be a Forum for programming. And then explain that you want code for locking or unlocking the numeric keypad in a button click event.
    After all this is not a Forum people would search for answers to questions on or post questions for code. It is a Forum people search for answers on questions about and post questions for Project Server.
    What looks like it may contain an appropriate Forum for you to post your question in, in the image below?

  • My iMac is looking for wireless keyboard but I have a usb and it is plugged in.

    my iMac is looking for wireless keyboard but I have a usb and it is plugged in. Right now I am using the one from my old computer. This happened once before and I unplugged/plugged in, restarted. Didn't work. Repeated several times, it finally worked. This time not so much. Any one else have this problem and know how to solve it?

    Try turning off Blue Tooth in its respective preference panel. Do not try using the USB keyboard in a USB extender. Connect directly to the computer.

  • IMac shutting down on startup - Can't enter safe mode as wireless keyboard doesn't connect quickly enough

    Hi all,
    I was planning to use bootcamp to install Windows 7 on my mid-2010 21.5" iMac.
    Bootcamp recommended I usk disk utility to repair the drive. I had a snow leopard install disk in the drive, (I didn't realise Lion already had it's recovery tools built in to the hard drive.)
    Disk utility said it can't repair the drive and recommended I start backing up my data (because the hard drive could be about to fail). Fine, so I restarted, with the intention of backing up everything (all my work for the last 12 months). So I press the power button, grey screen comes up, then the apple logo, then a progress bar appears (found this odd at first, but later found out it has something to do with disk utility and a bad hard drive) it gets to around 20% and then all power is cut from the iMac and the hard drive stops/everything powers down.
    Now, I can't seem to get my iMac to boot into recovery utilities or into safe mode because it doesn't connect to the wireless keyboard in time before it shuts down. So, if I use a wired keyboard (I have a dell USB keyboard that I can take from the office), will I be able to boot into safe mode?
    Also, if the disk in drive is causing the problem, then I can't remove it because the wireless keyboard won't connect/register any keypresses.

    Ok so, status report:
    Wired keyboard is non responsive when I plug it in before/during boot. So i guess it needs to be plugged in before the iMac shut down. That's that out the window.
    Plugged in headphones and I can't hear the startup chime so don't know when to start holding buttons.
    To make matters worse, the wireless keyboard is no longer paired with the iMac, getting a green blinking light which indicates it wants to connect to a computer or device.
    So I can't enter any commands whatsoever, can't remove the disk in the drive or boot safe mode. It's my worst nightmare.

  • Looking for software for Wireless Keyboard P10946U for Tungsten E

    I have an old Tungsten E that I haven't used in years.  I have managed to reset it and download the desktop but I can't find the driver for my Keyboard.  It's the Palm Wireless P10946U.  When I found the driver on the website it doesn't list the Tungsten E as a device option.  Does anyone know where I can get it since I have long lost the CD?
    Thank you so much for your help.

  • Preview support for wireless keyboards

    Hi . . . .
    A simple question.
    Is there a keyboard command to preview video and/or audio if you have one of the Apple wireless keyboards (that do not have a numeric keypad) ?
    Or am I destined for a life time of sub menu slavery if I need to preview audio (which is 99% of what I do !).
    Cheers for any help.
    Lee

    Help !
    Ok, I went to the Sebastien Perier website . . . and found the keyboard shortcuts text file, it was straightforward enough to change 'Audio Preview' to the period button on my wireless keyboard (below: italicised and in bold) - after first making sure nothing else was using the period button.
    I then tried the same with 'Preview' (below: italicised and in bold) - but regardless of what I assign the command to (currently in this example F5) it won't work ? I am also making sure what I try is not in use by anything else, and all the obvious stuff like relaunching AE after each edit of the text file . . . . but nothing will seem to work, whatever key (or combination of keys) I try AE does nothing when I relaunch AE and press the key/s ?
    Anyone got any clues ?
    Here's the section I am editing.
    ["CEggApp"]
    "BrowseInBridge" = "(Cmd+Option+Shift+O)"
    "New" = "(Cmd+N)"
    "OpenComp" = "(Backslash)(Yen)"
    "OpenMRUContext" = "(Shift+Esc)"
    "Preview" = "(F5)"
    "PreviewAlt" = "(Shift+Pad0)(Shift+PadInsert)"
    "PreviewAudio" = "(.)"
    "PreviewAudioWorkArea" = "(Option+PadDecimal)(Option+PadComma)(Option+PadDelete)"
    "PreviewBlitTest" = "(Cmd+Option+Shift+Pad0)(Cmd+Option+Shift+PadInsert)"
    "PreviewWire" = "(Option+Shift+Pad0)(Option+Shift+PadInsert)"
    "PreviewWireClear" = "(Option+Pad0)(Option+PadInsert)"
    "PreviewWireTrails" = "(Option+Shift+macControl+Pad0)(Option+Shift+macControl+PadInsert)"
    "PreviewWireTrailsClear" = "(Option+macControl+Pad0)(Option+macControl+PadInsert)"
    "ToggleVOutEnabled" = "(Cmd+PadSlash)"
    "WriteKeybindingsFile" = "(Option+K)"
    "WriteStringFile" = "(Cmd+Option+Shift+macControl+S)"
    "WriteVersionFile" = "(Cmd+Shift+HELP)"
    "WriteVersionFileExtra" = "(Cmd+Option+Shift+HELP)"
    Cheers in advance !

  • Fixes for Wireless Keyboard Blue Screen Crashes - POST HERE

    This thread is for posting possible SOLUTIONS and FIXES to the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) issue that occurs when using Boot Camp on Windows 7 with the Apple Wireless Keyboard.
    SYMPTOMS: When using the Apple Wireless keyboard with Windows 7 (for example), you'll often get a BSOD upon first keystroke when coming out of sleep or an idle period.
    SETUP: Boot Camp 3.1, Snow Leopard, Windows 7 on a fairly current iMac (2009).

    Okay, I am having the exact same problem as the rest of you. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium on a Mac Mini and when my Apple Wireless keyboard falls asleep, pressing a key on it causes a Windows 7 BSOD. None of the previously mentioned fixes has been helpful. I think the reason that they haven't been helpful is the weird nomenclature across all the different windows versions. For instance, my Windows 7 doesn't have a "Device Manager", instead it's "Devices and Printers". There are also no "Bluetooth Radios" it's "Generic Bluetooth Adapter". But I digress.
    Turning off power management through the bluetooth options definitely did not help me out at all. The BSOD just kept on showing up.
    Okay, so now I may have found an actual fix to this problem. I want to be very specific about exactly what I did and how everything is named and set up in my Windows install.
    First, from the start menu I selected "Devices and Printers". This opened a window with the following path laid out in the address bar "Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers >". From here I clicked on an icon of a keyboard that was named "Apple Wireless Keyboard". This opened a new window named "Apple Wireless Keyboard Properties". I clicked on the "Hardware" tab. There are four "Device Functions:" listed: "Bluetooth HID Device", "HID Keyboard Device", "HID-compliant consumer control device", and "HID-compliant consumer control device".
    I click on "HID Keyboard Device" and then click the "Properties" button. Another window opens. Here it says the Driver Provider is "Apple". I now click the "Uninstall" button. It asks me if I'm sure I want to do this and I say yes. It asks me if I want to restart the computer and I say yes.
    After restart, It asks me if I want to restart again and I say yes. Now, when I go back into the "Apple Wireless Keyboard Properties", there is still an "HID Keyboard Device" driver. However, when I check its properties it now says the Driver Provider is "Microsoft".
    Everything seems to be working now. There seems to be no BSOD. The special function keys on the keyboard like volume control don't actually control the volume now. They just act like regular function keys. That may be an issue for you, but not for me. I just want to check to see how my websites render in IE and not have to restart windows every 15 minutes.

  • Rechargable Batteries for Wireless Keyboard and Mouse

    I'm wondering if rechargeable batteries are compatible with the Wireless Keyboard & Mouse, and if so, what types does Apple recommend? I'm constantly going through regular batteries to power these devices. Thanks.

    I bought some ordinary rechargable batteries from Maplin Electronics (AA NiMH) and they were perfect (even came with an AC charger) for £9.99 (they supplied 6 and 2 AAA), so perfect for the keyboard.
    Hope that helps.

  • Air for iOS 7 App  - Listen for wireless Keyboard events

    Greetings i've been reviewing this older posting relating to the same problem that I have, but cannot surmise the solution from the thread. Could someone help point me in the right direction?
    https://forums.adobe.com/message/5618417
    I've built a flash ios app that relies on the input from 5 keys to function. I'm using Flash CS6 and AIR 13.0.0.111 for iOS. The app wont recognize the input from my bluetooth keyboard though.
    This code works until loaded onto the iPhone:
    stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, ScrollDown);
    function ScrollDown(e:KeyboardEvent):void{
    if (e.keyCode == 83){
    I guess in need to use a event.CHANGE listener but I can't find any similar tutorials to follow.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I don't know how wireless keyboard work for iDevices...
    Try to add StageText, tap on it and try to edit text using your keyboard. Could StageText hook keyboard input?

    you can just type in " office for mac keyboard shortcuts" in google and you will see several helpgul results on the first page, and no, their is no office for mac department within Apple, but their is an Office for Mac forum, via Microsoft.

  • "how to" question for wireless keyboard and/or wireless Mighty Mouse

    I just purchased a wireless keyboard and a wireless Mighty Mouse (yesterday)
    and notice I cannot use the calculator 'widget' in my Dock
    1. the number keys on the new keyboard do not activate the corresponding numbers on the widget
    and
    2. the mouse does not activate the widget numbers when I click on them, either
    does anyone know if the calculator can work with these 2 new accessories?
    (if not, is there another, similar, calculator I can use now..?)
    thank you for your time

    Hello d:
    The calculator works just fine with my Apple BT devices. I doubt if the problem is with the devices.
    Try deleting the calculator widget from the dashboard (when dashboard is open). Then add it back.
