Replacement fan for AE2400

The CPU-fan of my AE2400 is starting to break down (making terrible noise the first few minutes after starting up).
On-line I can only find replacement fans for MSI laptops.
Can anyone please tell me where can I find a replacement fan or if there is a replacement fan from a specific laptop model I can use ?

  • Replacement Fan for DV7-1261WM

    Hey guys,
Recently the top fan on my DV7 burnt out, or went out. I've tried searching around the internet for a replacement, but I'm not really confident on some of the websites I've come across.
Heres the fan I'm talking about:
Any ideas on where I can score a replacement fan? Thanks in advance guys!
    This question was solved.

I believe the part you want is number 488885-001, according to the service guide (below)
You could also try the Intel version....  480481-001.  These can be found on ebay for as little as $5.  The HP parts store seems to suggest that this would also work, they are listed as a part for sale for your model.
The service manual and repair procedures can be found at http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01918142/c01918142.pdf
Unfortunately, it's a fairly complicated process to replace the fan.  If you're not a techie or have experience repairing laptops, you might want to check out a HP authorized repair shop.

  • Replacement Fan for DV7-6195US

    Greetings All,
I need to order a replaceent fan/heatsink for a DV7-6195US notebook. I can't seem to find the part # or any other info. for this on the usual pages. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thank you in advance.
    --- Gary

    Gary,
    Specs: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c02863098
    Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02842278.pdf
The manual only lists fan/heat sink assembly for Intel processors with 2GB discrete graphics system & not for 1GB discrete graphics, which is present in yours.
This is your Laptop's HP part surfer link:http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=LW170UA
In there too, only UMA & 2GB graphics system cooling fan/heat sink assembly part numbers are listed,
Only part for 2GB discrete graphic system is listed- 666391-001 (partsurfer) or 653627-001 (manual) .
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008L30LKW?pc_redir=1408522867&robot_redir=1
But, from this thread - http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware/Cooling-Fan/td-p/3475779 , spare part number for 1GB discrete graphics such as yours is listed as 666390-001.
    http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=666390-001
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA3DY1S03962
    http://m.ebay.ca/itm?itemId=221496259906
    http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=390914163035
Through online stores, I could find that both are compatible with your laptop model - 666390-001 or 666391-001.
    Hope this helps.

where can u buy a fan for a g5 power mac tower? i cant seem to find one.

There are several after market possibilities, with the Zalman VF700 and VF900 coolers being preferred:

Hereis a how to (different graphics card):

A similar fan, the Vantec iceberq 5 would work as well.

  • Replacement fans for quicksilver 2002 933Mhz

Hello There, I love my 'new' secondhand Quicksilver 2002 but I hate the noise it makes. I have emailed a firm about getting quieter fans but they want to know what size the existing fans are - can someone tell me please? Or at least how does one measure them? - as I can open the machine and have a look. Also any recommendations? Thanks

    Hi-
    Your fans are as follows:
    Case fan 120mm x 25mm = 86 cfm 37 dba
    PSU exhaust 80mm x 25mm = 38 cfm 29 dba
    CPU intake 60mm x ??= 23 cfm 33.5 dba
As I have, just find a fan of the proper size, and necessary airflow, and replace as desired. Often times, the fans will come with 3 wires. The third, a yellow wire for speed controllers, which doesn't have to be connected. You can rewire your connectors, or use adapters, or solder directly- your choice.
The following has lots of different brands listed, for easy comparison:
    http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=36&zenid= 3b5951b15677aeba573668e965e6d5a0
Sorry about the thickness on the CPU fan- you'll have to measure it (total thickness of fan cage), or, maybe someone else will post.
I have fans by Scythe, A.C. Ryan, Aerocool, and Arctic Cooling. All nice stuff, each much quieter than the origional.

my CPU fan has recently gotten too loud for my confort and i want to replace it. Everytine I go to the Apple service request form and fill out all the answers, I get to a part where it states and there are no billable parts and gives me a number. I can't seem to continue from there. I want to do the replacement myself and don't want to send it in for repairs (long wait times)
    P.S. I have APPLECARE

  • Replacement fan for stock amd heatsink

hey to all, Anybody know of a good high cfm fan(dont care about noise) to replace a stock amd 60mm fan. also maybe what the stock fan cfm is? this is for another pc of mine.  I found a all alum.evercool (  http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?Submit=ENE&N=2010110062+70002727+70001969&Subcategory=62&description=&srchInDesc=&minPrice=&maxPrice=  ) its 23 cfm and am thinking maybe the extra metal might help out that stock heatsink. anybody have any ideas. thanks for the time       Henry

HELLO, to all  Well If your as cheap as I its worth a 7c drop by changing the fan on a stock amd 64 cooler. Thats almost as good as my zalman 7000b-cu cooler. I tried two different fans, a 60mm evercool rated at 25cfm, and a Tt 60cfm 80mm case blower fan (epoxied to stock plastic fan frame) the 60mm fan lower temps by about 4c at full 12v, the Tt blower got 7c lower on about half speed, ya its noisey on full but cant really hear it over any other fans on half, Then I took the stock amd fan and mounted it in the right side of my case behind the cpu & board blowing in and it dropped my mb temp by 2c, dosent stick out very much either being that it is so thin. used screen for a grill.  Total cost $22.00, now idle at36c loaded 48c
