  • New 3D Update for Acrobat 9 Pro Extended

The following URL will take you to the download page for a new 3D Update for Acrobat 9 Pro Extended:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4073
This free downloadable executable contains several updated dynamic link libraries (DLLs) that provide support for more recent versions of CAD file formats when using Adobe® Acrobat® 9 Pro Extended and Adobe 3D Reviewer. It also fixes a number of bugs related to CAD format import in Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and 3D Reviewer.
New supported CAD format versions for this update:
    CAD format: Autodesk Inventor
Supported version: Up to 12.x and 2009
    CAD format: Dassault CATIA V5
    Supported version: Up to R19
    CAD format: CoCreate OneSpace Designer
    Supported version: V3 to v2008
    CAD format:Siemens NX
    Supported version: Up to NX6
    CAD format: Siemens Parasolid
    Supported version: Up to 19

    No.
Adobe stopped all support for 3D file conversion with the introduction of the Acrobat X Family back in 2010. There have been and will be no further updates to the 3D import functionality. The translation engine that used to be in Pro Extended is now sold as a commercial product by Tetra4D, but it's not compatible with Acrobat 9.

  • Need install iso for acrobat 9 pro extended

We have our key, but have lost our disc.  Anyone have the ISO for Acrobat 9 Pro Extended?  All that is listed on the website is the upgrade.  We need the full version installer.
    Thanks.

Some of the older products used to be at ProDesignTools: Adobe® Developments in Focus, but apparently that has ended. If you know of someone local who has the product, you could probably just make a copy of the CD and use that. You will still need your S/N for the install. If you are installing on Win 8, then good luck if you can get a copy of the CD. AA 8 apparently does not work on Win 8 and I don't remember any comments about AA 9 on Win 8 either.

  • Update for Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and Catia V5 R22

    Hello ...
We are using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended (now at version 9.5.4) at our company for converting CatPart-Files to 3dPDF ...
Now we've got Catia V5 R22 (V5R62012) Files here and the converter can't read them ...
Will there be an update and when ?
    Thanks in advance ...
    Greetings,
    Wolfgang

  • OT: Macintosh Users: Beware the misleading advertising for Acrobat 9 Pro Extended

An important message to Macintosh users who are considering purchasing Acrobat 9:
I am writing to let you Mac users know that the current marketing for Acrobat Pro is very confusing.
On the page for Acrobat Pro,
    here.
there is a very enticing sidebar that says "Consider Upgrading to Acrobat 9 Pro Extended"
It outlines all the cool things that Extended can do. I had seen some publicity for Extended and so I immediately clicked that button to find out more about this version. It is a very compelling product that has a presentation application, 3D capabilities, and the form creation product Live Cycle Designer.
I was very excited about this product, when I was lucky to have checked the System Requirements for this product. And was amazed to find that this product is Windows only!
It is one thing to shove the Mac market off to the side as Acrobat has in the past. For instance, in the past, Acrobat products have provided features for Windows that were missing on the Mac.
But the current advertising borders on misleading advertising. Rather than just hide the Windows -only features under the same name as the Macintosh product, Adobe has come out with a Windows-only product that doesn't clearly state it is Windows only!
To publicize a product on a page that is cross platform and then make it very hard to find out that the product is Windows only is terrible. And I guarantee that this will lead to many people ordering something they can not use. And will be very angry about!
I have written to several people I know at Adobe to complain about this.
I would suggest that others use the Adobe-feedback page:
    http://www.adobe.com/bin/webfeedback.cgi
to tell Adobe how this makes you feel.
Meanwhile, I'm glad that I won't have to shell out the extra money for this Windows-only product.

    Buko,
I appreciate your support, but it's even worse than you think.
Here are the features exclusive to Acrobat 9 Pro Extended:
Combine documents, drawings, e-mail, spreadsheets, and rich media including audio, video, 3D, and maps in a single, compressed PDF Portfolio.
b The Pro version does not support 3D.
Create interactive, on-demand presentations Use Adobe Presenter software now included with Adobe Acrobat® 9 Pro Extended software to liven up your slides with video, voice-over, demos, and interactive quizzes, and then output to PDF for reliable, cross-platform sharing.
b The Pro version does not contain Presenter.
This is the product I was most interested in.
Work with expanded 3D features Use new Adobe 3D Reviewer software to combine multiple CAD formats in one assembly; compare a revised design to an earlier version; measure and section on precise geometry; and create exploded views, animations, and balloons. Export your work to 2D vector or raster files or save as PDF.
b The Pro version does not support any 3D features.
View and interact with PDF maps Search, measure, and mark up geospatially enabled PDF maps. Discover the longitude and latitude by placing your cursor over a location. Measure PDF maps in kilometers or miles.
b The Pro version does not support the PDF maps features.
Create interactive forms with Adobe LiveCycle Designer.
b The Pro version does not have the LiveCycle Designer application.
Finally, there is a feature mentioned in the Pro 9 Extended product that I cannot find in the Acrobat Pro 9 features:
Convert a variety of video formats to FLV for reliable, cross-platform sharing of video, animations, and applications in PDF documents. With native support for Adobe® Flash® technology, no additional media player is necessary for playback.
b But I can't definitely tell if this feature is in the Pro 9 version.
As you can see, there are quite a few compelling features in Pro Extended. And I guarantee it is
b only marketing, and not code,
that is keeping these features from the Mac market.

Acrobat 9 extended is just the new name for Acrobat 3D. Alas it has
always been Windows only. I agree that they could make it more obvious
that it is Windows only. I guess some in the Marketing department, may
not realize that anyone still uses a Mac ;-)

  • Need for Acrobat 9 Pro Extended 64-bit Add-on

Can anyone tell me if this 34 KB add-on is necessary for Acrobat Pro Extended version 9.5.2? Can find no infomation on Adobe's website about it. It was installed with original software on 8/2011.

All I can tell you is it's title in the "Programs and Features" tool of Windows 7. To whit: "Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended 64-bit Add-On."  It has an installation date of 8-30-2011 and is only 34KB in size, according to Windows. It is listed below the Main Acrobat 9 Pro program, which doesn't give it's size, but does give the current version of 9.5.2, which is the latest for Acrobat 9 Pro as far as I know.
The one thing I want to establish is whether this add-on is necessary for the current version of Acrobat 9 Pro to function or not. I can find no guidance on Acrobat's website; at least a search reveals nothing anyway. And it is not referenced in their update site at all. If worse comes to worse, I will call them for guidance because our security types are listing it as a problem, and I am wondering if they are confusing this add-on with the main program.
Hope this helps with your knowledge, and thanks for replying.

  • Updates for Acrobat 9 Pro Extended

I just reinstalled Windows, which involved also reinstalling my copy of Acrobat 9 Pro Extended. When I hit the Check for Updates menu, the message box states There are no updates available at this time. In addition, I have been unable to locate updates for my version of Acrobat on the web site. I would appreciate a link to the update page.
    Thanks.
    Mike

Thanks for sharing that information. Otherwise, I would not have been attentive to the possibility that the built-in updater would start to function. I found that it kicked in after I installed the update to 9.2.0.
After installing 9.2.0 and rebooting, I tried the Check for updates menu option, under the Help menu. I got a message to the effect that “The Adobe updater is already running”. Using Process Explorer, I checked the running processes and found a windowless program called AdobeARM.exe (Adobe Reader and Acrobat Manager) was running. I assumed that it was downloading files, so I let it run. After about 10 minutes, it notified me of an update and offered to run it. After it finished, I was updated from 9.2.0 to 9.5.5. I checked the log and verified that it had downloaded and installed all the interim updates to bring me up to 9.5.5.
Here’s what I think happened. With the release of version 9.2.0, Adobe changed the update procedure. There was probably a period of time that the update procedure in 9.0 and 9.1 would automatically transition to the new procedure implemented in 9.2.0. But that time has passed, and the only message one gets from 9.0.0 and 9.1.0 is that there are no upgrades. That leaves the question as to why the updater did not start working for you until 9.4.5. I think the answer is that the AdobeARM program downloads the necessary files before it makes itself visible and offers to install the updates. Each time you rebooted, AdobeARM, shut down, so it never reached the point where it could tell you that it had downloaded all the updates. When you reached 9.4.5, the time required to download the necessary files had dropped from 10 minutes to a minute or two, so you were finally given the opportunity of having the remaining updates installed automatically. The same thing would have happened to me, if your experience had not made me more cautious.
Based on this experience, I would recommend the following procedure to update a fresh install of Acrobat 9 Pro Extended for Windows:
Install the following files in this order:
    Ac9Ex3DUpd.msi
    AcroProExUpd910_all_incr.msp
    AcrobatUpd911_all_incr.msp [optional]
    AcrobatUpd912_all_incr.msp
    AcrobatUpd913_all_incr.msp [optional]
    AcrobatUpd920_all_incr.msp
Except for File No. 2, these files are all available as links from the Acrobat 9 Pro Extended for Windows download page:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=158&platform=Windows
For inexplicable reasons AcroProExUpd910_all_incr.msp is only available from the FTP site. The direct link is:
    ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/9.x/9.1/misc/AcroProExUpd910_all_incr.msp
Based on the information on the following page: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/update-patch-acrobat-reader-7.html, I have indicated that two updates are optional, because they are incorporated in subsequent quarterly updates. I installed them anyway.
After installing the sixth file, AcrobatUpd920_all_incr.msp, reboot. Open Acrobat, click on the Help menu, and then on Check for updates. If it says the updater is already running, wait for it to finish downloading the remaining updates. As mentioned above, it took about 10 minutes for it to finish downloading files. After the files finish downloading, a new window will appear, telling you downloads are available and offering to download them. Click OK, and you will be updated to 9.5.5.

  • Where is the installer files for Acrobat 9 Pro Extended EN,FR

New computer, I lost my CD but have my key recorded. Where can I get the installer files for "Adobe Acrobat Pro Extened - English, Francais"???

    Hi Jesse ,
Try this once and see it it helps .
Go to the web page : http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=acrobat_pro&loc=en
Login with your Adobe ID and Password. Now instead of clicking on the download button copy and paste the following link on the address bar and hit enter : http://trials2.adobe.com/Applications/Acrobat/APRO/9/trials/AcroPro90_efg.exe
This is the direct download link for Acrobat 9.
This link would only work from the downloads page of Acrobat 10.

  • No Licensing Website download available for Acrobat 9 Pro Extended

Although my company has a licence listed, the Adobe LWS site does not contain a downloadable version of the product for re-install on a user's machine. Adobe support says this is because the product is no longer supported and that I should ask if anyone on this forum has a version for download. The retail version downloads available online do not accept our serial number. Thanks!

Mark.o if the download is not able to be enabled then you would need to obtain a volume license version of the installation files.  I am not aware of any other locations than https://licensing.adobe.com/.  Do you have a case number from your interaction with our support team that I can reference?

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Extended: Enable commenting in Save As-ed PDFs by default

    For Acrobat 9 Pro Extended:
When using Save As to save a PDF, is it possible to have Commenting and Analysis enabled for that saved PDF by default?
What I currently must do: Open the PDF, choose Comments > Enable for Commenting and Analysis in Adobe Reader, at which point Acrobat 9 Pro Extended prompts me to save the file.
What I would like to do: Have Save As automatically enable commenting & analysis by default.
I can't find any controls for that, so suspect it's a manual process each time...(?)
Note, too, that this question was asked for Acrobat 8 Pro but went unanswered, which further leads me to believe enabling comments may well be a one-by-each process. Sigh...

  • Help Please...Damaged 3D plugin on Acrobat 9 Pro Extended - Guidance to Re-install

    Hello...
I have been getting Warning messages indicating that "part of the 3D Capture plugin is damaged" over the past week and finally tried to follow Adobe's advice online in modifying the Registry (under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Wow6432) and made sure my security app "trusts" acapture32.dll, then attempted to repair Acrobat twice -- with no luck...in fact things seem even worse now.  But when I tried to contact Adobe support for some guidance, all they could "help" me with was recommending I upgrade to 11, because 9 is no longer supported.  I don't need 11...9 has served my needs perfectly until corruption.
Tonight I visited Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended's download page, and tried to download the "Version 3D Update 200810" .msi file but when I try to run it, I get a screen that says:  "No qualifying products found to apply this update" which suggests to me it now can't even SEE my app.
Adobe support would not even answer one simple question I had...perhaps someone here can help me.
I've seen many questions on the forums related to deactivating on an old system and properly installing and activating the software onto a new computer, but nowhere is there clear guidance on how to uninstall a program that has become corrupted...and reinstall it back onto the SAME computer.
    My question is:
I know de-activation is critical, but I need to know which of the two choices I should be making before uninstalling then reinstalling:
    1.  Should I choose to "Deactivate & Suspend"...(which supposedly retains my registration information) but if I UNINSTALL the software then REINSTALL it and try to re-activate it, won't I have lost my "registration" information anyway when uninstalling the app from my system before reinstalling it?
    -OR-
    2.  Should I select instead to "Deactivate Permanently", then UNINSTALL the app, then REINSTALL it -- and will I be able to go through the registration process anew for a product that Adobe says it no longer supports...AND activate it?
Also what seems to be strange, my 9 Pro Extended indicates I am running version 9.5.5, but on Adobe's download page for Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, I only see updates through version 9.4.5.  I've been set to automatically receive Acrobat 9 updates as they are released, so the only place I could have gotten a 9.5.5 update was through Adobe.
Please help me...Adobe has so many hoops to jump through that there is too much room for screwing up.  So I'm asking for help BEFORE I do...
    Thank you!
    -Janie-

    Hi Rave...
Bet you thought all was well.  I was without my system for a few days but finally had a chance to uninstall...and reinstall full app and all updates through 9.5.5.
Problem is...the same problem.  Issues related to 3D Capture with notifications.  The result ends up being a .pdf that either includes hieroglyphics in various parts of the document...or Acrobat freezing altogether forcing me to either attempt to do a hard close on the program (if it lets me)...or hard reboot of my system.  This happens when trying to .pdf web pages or html .pdf docs...not on Word docs, Excel docs or .jpgs -- things like that.
Here's the content of one of the log files generated:
        %%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
X930A2E12 not found, using Courier.                            (or X93062E47 or X934A2E59 not found, using Courier.) - these locations vary

         Stack:
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
    Also this:
        The operation completed successfully.
         Pipe:\\.\pipe\PMtoDistiller_ID_2:Error                              (or Pipe:\\.\pipe\PMtoDistiller_ID_5:Error) - varies
I've also been getting a  plugin-container.exe    error message via Windows but don't know if it is related in any way to the 3D Capture issue.
(I do run Mozilla Firefox v-31.0)
I also never de-activated (was not allowed to complete the request) before uninstalling AND never was asked to re-activate after re-installing.  So I don't know if that's good news or not.  If I ever want to de-activate on this computer and install/activate onto a new system or HD I'll likely be out of luck on that.
Other weird stuff upon re-install.  Checked my HD used space BEFORE uninstalling, AFTER uninstalling, and AFTER re-installing application and all updates for 9 Pro Extended.  Results as follows:
    BEFORE UNINSTALL:
    Used:  112 GB
    Free:  31.9 GB
    AFTER UNINSTALL:
    Used:  110 GB
    Free:  36.2 GB
AFTER RE-INSTALL AND ALL UPDATES INSTALLED:   (I would have expected these figures to be pretty much the same as BEFORE UNINSTALL)
    Used:  124 GB
    Free:  19.3 GB
And program space under Add/Remove only indicates 1,959 MB -- it was at around 2,300+ MB BEFORE UNINSTALL...
So something really strange is going on!
Is there a way to override or disable 3D Capture?
Other things I'm picking up on.  I had Acrobat Reader on my system before as well as CS2...and originally was using Adobe Acrobat Elements but (except for CS2) had uninstalled those quite some time ago, however...in my Docs & Settings.../JLD/ApplicationData/Adobe/Acrobat folder I'm finding the following folders (and all are populated):
    6.0
    9.0
    10.0
    11.0
    Distiller 6
    Distiller 9
    Preflight Acrobat 9
Only version of Acrobat showing in "Add/Remove Programs" is 9   (BTW...is Acrobat 6.0/Distiller 6.0 needed for CS2? - but they're not showing up in Add/Remove.)
In my Program Files, along with CS2 content is:
Acrobat 6.0 (but the Resource folder within only contains a font)
    Acrobat 9.0
So I'm trying to think of anything else that may signal what my conflict or problem is being caused by...don't know if any .dll is corrupted, but on a new install I would think those things should now be a non-issue.
Any ideas (aside from simply turning 3D Capture error notifications off) on how to disengage 3D Capture altogether so there's nothing to set off an error and lock-up because of it?  I can limp through getting hieroglyphics but can't stand getting locked up for attempting to create a .pdf.
Or a setting in the Registry that I need to contemplate?  I hate touching anything in there...but if it's simply a setting, I can back-up it up, make a change and restore if needed.
I'm sorry to hit you with all this...but the forum isn't letting me attach any screenshots so I have to write it all in.
    Thank you, Rave!

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended hangs for about 12 seconds ... please help!

    Hi there,
I'm using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and have the following problem:
I can open PDF documents just fine. But after about 3-4 seconds the program hangs / freezes for about 12 seconds. I've tried everything (defined a non-network printer as default printer, deactivated unecessary fonts with a font manager, deactivated most of the plugins from Adobe Acrobat etc.)... nothing helps to solve this issue.
