Replacement for Adobe Photoshop 3.0 Home Edition

I hope I am in the right forum but I have a very OLD 1996 Edition for photoshop that does now work well with XP. I tried to replace it many years ago with elements 2.0 but found the learning curve was well beyond my capabilities. I have heard that the newer elements are easier to use. I am looking for a program to do repair of old photo's that I scan and good re sizing of ones I have and maybe even some fun stuff like putting picts in frames or added things from one pict to another etc. I am pretty good at the computer but found all the "layering' much to advanced for me. Can anyone reccomend a replacement for this great original old photoshop?

default location. Don't try to install the trial in the same folder as your
version 2.

Yes. And, you will need to uninstall the trial version before installing
the purchased disc. However, since you also have version 2 on your
computer, when the uninstaller asks whether you want to uninstall shared
resources or programs, you want to keep them. If you remove the shared
items, you will have removed some of the things needed by version 2 and you
will need to reinstall your version 2 software to get them back.
Just a word in regards to layers. Don't let the complexity get to you.
Working with layers can be confusing at first, but once you understand how
they work, you will find they are actually easy to use. Start with the
basic things and then gradually move into the more advanced things as your
familiarity grows. I'm positive this is not beyond your capabilities.

uninstall cs5, clean cs5 and cc (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6) and then reinstall cs5 using your serial number.

How can I download the replacement installer for Adobe Photoshop Elements 11. I need to reinstall it on a new PC. I do have my serial number.

You put both the .7z and the .exe in the same folder. Run the .exe (double-click it) and it will automatically unzip the file and start the setup program for you.

Thanks to everyone for the tips on my CS2 question. It turns out in the end it was some plug-in filter software that was causing the glitch, not a lack of an Adobe registration key. As for why he still uses CS2, it does the job for him, so that's all he needs.

Unable to start subscription service for Adobe Photoshop CS5

Hi there.
I'm trying to install Adobe Photoshop CS5 on my laptop and every time, after installing the product and entering the serial number, the process fails and tells me 'We are unable to start your subscription for Adobe Photoshop CS5 Subscription Edition.'
It then asks me to relaunch the product and do the installation process again. I have tried this numerous times and it keeps saying the same thing.

Do you have the receipt? If you have proof of ownership, you _may_ be able to persuade Customer Support to help you out. I imagine you would need to scan and email that proof if it works at all.

How to install TWAIN plug-in for Adobe Photoshop CS5

Adobe Photoshop CS4 listed my Epson Perfection V500 scanner as a selection under “File-Import”. When I installed Adobe Photoshop CS5, I noticed that scanner selection is not there. I contacted Epson technical support and they said Adobe Photoshop CS5 does not automatically install the TWAIN plug-in that it needs to recognize the scanner and that I need to contact Adobe technical support to find out how to add it.
How do I install the TWAIN plug-in for Adobe Photoshop CS5 so it will recognize my Epson Perfection V500 scanner as a selection under “File-Import”?

I downloaded the "Photoshop CS5 Optional Plugins" file (PSCS5OptionalPlugins_Win_en_US.zip). I unzipped it and read the "ReadMeCS5_OptionalPlugin.pdf" file. In that file, the only section that discusses TWAIN is entitled "TWAIN (Mac only)". There is no section for how to install TWAIN for Windows.
How do I install the TWAIN plug-in for Windows?
On a side note: Before I posted the question to the form, I changed my Adobe account email from [email protected] to [email protected] I then logged in as [email protected] and posted the question. The notification email for your posting a response to my questions was sent to my old email address (not tye new one). My Abobe account and my forum profile both show my new email address. Where is the settings that controls the email notification for the posting responses?

Media for Adobe Photoshop CS3 standard (English)

Does anybody have a copy of the Media for Adobe Photoshop CS3 standard (English) or know where i can download it.
I know its rather old at this stage but we have misplaced our CD and for some reason adobe are unwilling to make a copy of the media available to me. Luckily i still have the licence certificate for the software. The component description on the software certificate is

Sometimes the Adobe servers used for the updates can get busy and it’s necessary to try a couple of times. Also make sure you don’t have a firewall which may be blocking the connection. It sometimes helps to temporarily disable internet security/anti-virus software. Because the Organizer is shared by both programs it often helps to do the PSE update first, followed by the PRE update in that order.
Select the 12.1 update for PSE from the updater dialog and ensure everything else is unchecked. Quit PSE and PRE if you have it running and then start the update.
If PSE updates properly to 12.1 repeat the process for PRE.

Fujifilm Tethered Capture Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom

Hi!
Today Fujifilm shared "Tethered Capture Plug-in for Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom®". And they shared only 1 exe file, which i can't open on my Mac=). I try open it on PC, but it can't open without HS-V5 ( i needn't it, because it work only on Windows)
They write:
To use "Tethered Capture Plug-in for Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom®" you need to purchase "Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® 5".
*For customers who don't have the HS-V5, "FUJIFILM Tether Shooting Plug-in" will be able to be purchased at Adobe Exchange site."
So...i already purchased Adobe CC for photographers. I try find it in Adobe Exchange, but doesn't find it.
May be somebody know anything?
Or may be somebody knows about tethering future with fujifilm X-T1 in new Lightroom 6?

The current situation seems to be this:
You are licensed to use the plug-in on a Mac or a Windows PC if you have purchased and installed H5-VS software. Since H5-VS is only a Windows product the download for the plug-in is a Windows EXE because when you run that EXE it'll check for the H5-VS software installation and if it doesn't see it, it'll stop, so to be successful in extracting the Mac plug-in you have to use a Windows PC and have purchased some Windows software.
You can examine the contents of the LRPLUG.EXE by renaming it to something like LRPLUGIN.EXE.ZIP and opening it with 7ZIP; however, the contents aren't something where you can just extract and run w/o the license check.
The only way forward seems to be to purchase the H5-VS software and install it on Windows and then download and run the LRPLUG.EXE on that same Windows computer to extract the plug-in installers, and then run those on the appropriate platform.
However, the H5-VS software doesn't appear to be for sale, anywhere, although the Fuji people do seem to hint they will have a solution at some point in the near future--perhaps it is only available in Japan ATM.

The bottom line is that while the tethering plug-in is for both a PC and a Mac the licensing dependency is on a Windows-only program so the plug-in installers are contained within a Windows-only program and the missing link is how to acquire the required H5-VS Windows program to satisfy the licensing requirement for the plug-in packaging utility so it'll extract the plug-in installers for each platform.
From what the pages, say, there is also going to be a version of the plug-in available on Adobe Exchange that won't require having H5-VS already, I guess, but that is not available, yet, either, so lots of announcements, and mostly a lack of follow-through..
