Replacement for Directory? (Not Directory Utility)

Question

On 10.5, there was an application called Directory that let users edit their personal information stored on a directory server. How is this operation supported in Snow Leopard? I don't see any way to edit the user's Open Directory data using the Address Book.

while poking around an iMac at a Fry's electronics store, i ran across the "directory" app and started it. it looked a little like the address book app, but with more options. that mac was running 10.6.0.
i work at a large company and decided to try the directory app at work. but i couldn't find it on my MBPro w/ 10.6.2 this morn and decided to search for it on the forum to see if there was any info... my company uses ldap, but only the phone numbers and email addresses show up in the ldap search in address book. years ago, i'd talked to a couple IT people at work, and they thought there needed to be some extra configuration in apples ldap set up to see the rest of the info. to set up the basic ldap interface, we have to use a long string with "=", and "dc" a variety of variable names that parse out the domain. suffice it to say, nobody every got farther than the basic ldap interface in the ldap config. i was hoping this "directory" app my help me go a little farther.
i found the "directory utility" in the system/library/coreservices, mentioned in one of the other posts. when i start it, it is obviously not the directory app i saw in on the iMac yesterday.
i looked one of my older computers with 10.5 and found it there. i copy it over and try it...
anyway, my primary message for this thread is that i did see it on an iMac with 10.6. perhaps it came with selecting some custom option in the 10.6 install disk... perhaps not. maybe someone knows if it is available as part of a custom install, like adding developer tools or something? if i have time to look into the developer tools and find it, will post a follow up...
if the directory app is not in 10.6, my suspicion is that apple may have embedded the features in other apps, like the address book. for example, the ldap search results has changed in 10.6 address book. in 10.5, the ldap search results listed all names that matched and included either the phone number or the email address (but not both). it had a selectable option to view either phone numbers or addresses. in 10.6, the ldap search results gives a like of names that match, without showing any additional info (no addresses or phone numbers). after selecting one name in the list, the next panel to the right looks just like a standard addressbook vcard, with the name, phone and email all showing in the same panel. basically, the ldap look up display looks just like any "card" in the local address book. i find this a big improvement.
if i could only get it to display the rest of the ldap info, like office location, etc., i'll really be happy... i don't suppose anyone has a suggestion for this?
