Replacement for sound issues?

Hey guys,
I am experiencing the issue with the sounds while in sleep mode. I have an appointment with the Genius Bar tomorrow. Has anyone been able to get a replacement for this issue or is it not even worth driving the 30 minutes to have them not even replace my phone? Thanks

Listen, this issue is on ALL 3GS phones. Getting it replaced for a refurb is way less than worth it... I am confident that this issue will be addressed in a future firmware update... Just wait it out.

Iphone Replacement for baseband Issues

Hello every one this is my first question here ... If a third party opened the device, Apple will not service or replace the device any longer even as the advertised discounted prices. If they did, this would require them to warrant your device for someone else's work, which they will not do, so in your case, you will only have third party options for service at this point, or you can purchase a new phone.

Solution for sound issue with MCP78S chip

I have had sound problems where sound would work sometimes then stop working for no reason. Or it would work after I changed the device order in KDE4 but it would only work for KDE4 programs not VLC or console apps.

I installed the alsa package with pacman and noticed that alsamixer would use my PC speaker as the default device.
So my solution to this issue is to blacklist the pc speaker module, this will stop the damn beeping when I use the console and fixed the sound issue.
Open rc.conf and blacklist the modules
MODULES=( !pcspkr !snd_pcsp )
That is it, the modules will no longer be loaded and sound should be working fine after a reboot.

i am having problems with this same chipset on my laptop, it plays but it skips some sound, and sometimes it stops completely, very annoying, i have not found any solution to this problem as yet

IPhone Replacement for Widespread issue

Whats up guys,
My iPhone 4 has this exact same problem as a lot of people, no one can hear me during calls. I smacked the phone around just a bit and after a couple hits it works, but only for a minute or two, then it goes back to the mic not working.
I tried cleaning it and everything like you all did, still no luck.
My apple warranty has expired, I wanted to ask all of you that If I take it to apple, and the tech screens the phone, and he/she finally comes to the point of replacing it, will I have to pay for it?
I find this widespread problem ridiculous to say the least as this spontaneously just started happening.

Your math is off. Apple didn't sell 120 million iphone 4s. By now they probably sold around 4-6 million.
But those 200 posters don't represent the whole population of iphone 4s owners, since many of those who have the issue never visit apple forums.
To make a better calculation get the number of people who visit apple forums REGULARLY, from that number, subtract people who don't own iphone 4s. ONLY then divide that number by 200 posters. That would give you a more accurate estimate.
P.S: The issue does seem to be widespread.

Replacement for Sound Diver?

I am new to this forum in the last few weeks and I would like to say that I am really enjoying the supportive community!
Years ago I started out using Opcode MidiMac and Mark of the Unicorn sequencing programs. Being in high tech I found my opportunities for pursuing my hobby of arranging, writing and performing music coming in a few hours here and there with long breaks. I ended up spending more time trying to get all my instruments in my sound modules organized in the software than actually playing music and often had to redo everything each time I was able to get back to it.
During a year living in The Netherlands I discovered and purchased Logic Silver and Sound Diver. Sound Diver seemed the perfect solution to getting all my equipment recognized in the software and all the instruments organized so I could get down to playing and writing again. My move back to the US, daughters in high school and college, another house move, more high tech business, etc. delayed my getting my system set up again. I am finally putting a much higher priority on my music as I am not getting any younger! I found a good deal on Logic Pro 6 and a G5 dual 2Ghz. So here I am with OS X Tiger and wondering what others are using in place of Sound Diver?

You can still use SoundDiver, even though it seems to be a dead product. As long as you have an XSKey connected to the computer it will run. It hasn't been updated in years, and probably will remain in this "public beta" stage forever.
I use SD all the time, and it should work well for all of your older instruments. However, the AutoLink function between SD and Logic does not work.
You can download SoundDiver here.
Unfortunately, the choices for MIDI librarian and editor software are few. MOTU will still sell you Unisyn, but it seems that it is going the way of SoundDiver. Over at Unicornation , there was a recent thread about the status of Unisyn and one of the developers that worked on the latest update told everyone that he had finished with the update in December of 2004, and yet MOTU never released it. So I would think twice before considering a purchase of a product that is ignored.
The only other SoundDiver replacement that I'm aware of (that's still commercially available) is MIDIQuest. I have tried it and was not impressed, although it does seem to work (mostly). I found the interface to be rather clunky—not that SoundDiver is much better, but at least it looks "logical" (sorry) and I'm used to it.

Beats Audio Sound Issue

Hi, well, like many others, im having issues with the beats audio on my LK237AV, im telling you the full history: Clean install of windows 10, after that, installed the drivers via windows update, ok at this point, lik always when i installed linux on my laptop i test the sound quality because the drivers and then, i found that the speakers near the screen works, but the one near me does not, so, i download 3 diferents packages from hp support and nothing, one of then wont install at all (not the rigth driver for me) another one installed an when i was thinking its over again, the sound its really bad, it sound like a portable FM/AM device, then, i tried with the original package for my laptop, and installed the beats audio panel, wich does not install on the other ones, but the sound was missing!. installed again the one wich work for me, and againg i have sound but **bleep** to bad, with hope, i tried with my sennheiser studio earphones and, on the first jack does not sound at all, it continues giving me sound with the speakers that works, the second jack it worked but again i think im going to throw up whe i hear that disgusting sound quality... so here is the think, im asking for all of us the hp guys who has a hp laptop with beats audio to release a driver that works with windows 10, do not attach us with "its not supported" because its your responsability as a pc/laptop maker to release a driver that solve the problem that million of people has after upgrade the SO. thanks in advance,

I've got a couple of things for you to try.
First, try updating to the latest BIOS version F.1C. Download and install F.1C. Your computer will restart on its own during the installation. Allow it to restart and test it for sound issues. If you are still having the problem, move on to the second option.
2nd Option You have the latest audio driver version 6.10.6381.0 installed. There are two versions listed on your driver page which means some units may work better with one version or the other. Don't make any changes to the BIOS version you just installed, but roll back to the earlier audio driver version.
To do this:
Open Device Manager
Expand Sound, video and game controllers
Double-click on IDT HD Audio
Click the Driver tab
If the 'Rollback' button is enabled, click that and restart the computer.
If the 'Rollback' button is not enabled, click Uninstall, do not restart the computer
Download and install 6.10.6345.0 offered on this link and restart
Let me know the results when you get a chance

HP Pavilion dv6 Windows 7 Beats Audio Sound issue

Hi-
I am using HP Pavilion dv6 with Windows 7 and has Beats Audio installed.It is about 9-10 months old Couple of times in the last few months, the sound just screached and then the volume on the speakers went down tremendously. I have-
1. Confirmed that the latest drivers are in place
2. Confirmed that all audio setting options are set right
3. Confirmed that the device is working correctly (Through device manager)
2-3 weeks after the first such instance, the sound came back normal without any setting changes. Now I am facing the same issue-
1. Sound is very low on- Speaker, headphones and HDMI output
2. Sound is very low on- Skype, Yahoo messenger
It appears to be an hardware issue- if anyone has encountered such issue or know of any potential solutions, please share it.

My wife's new iphone4 (a replacement for a 5 month-old iphone 4 with home button issues) is not recognized by itunes. Every other ios device in the house using that computer and Apple ID is. Any suggestions?

If the new phone has already been setup, make sure the phone and iTunes are both set to the same account.
You might also have to authorize this computer for the new device under the store menu.

Is my Apple-Issued Replacement for a Verizon-Issued iPhone 5 Unlocked?

Due to a water accident I went to Apple and they sold me a replacement for my Verizon-Issued iPhone 5. If I understand correctly, Verizon's iPhone 5 was shipped to customers unlocked. Is the phone that I got from Apple as a replacement (and I was told that I was getting exactly what I already had) unlocked? I really need to know as I am about to go overseas.

My White Samsung Fascinate has issues, can I get it replaced for a different phone?

Okay, I have the White Samsung Fascinate. I bought it from Best Buy back in April, and since then i've had nothing but random problems with it. I've never tried getting it replaced before, but recently it has stopped vibrating altogether, even when in vibrate mode. I factory reset the phone and everything and it still will not work. If I take it to the Verizon Store and they cannot fix the problem can they give me a different phone? I really do not want another Fascinate that will just probably end up giving me more problems in a few months. I also heard that Verizon does not offer replacements for the White Samsung Fascinate, since it was a Best Buy exclusive, and that they will offer you something else. Is that true?

Since you did not by the device from a Retail Verizon Store and has had it over 14 Days the answer would most likely be a no, they will replace it with a referbished Fascinate if you got the insurance plan, other than that it would depend on the rep and manager to do something diffrent but I would not expect a diffrent phone...
Also you may qualify for the early upgrade but this will still mean you have to buy the devicce at contract price and renew contract, but this is only if you qualify and they do not have to offer this as a solution..

Sound Issues

I have a G3 CRT slot-load 600 Snow that functions well except for sound. To digress, when I purchased the unit, it arrived with the front case damaged. I disconnected the headphone connector on the front panel because it was damaged. I am assuming that this is the issue due to the circuit being open. Can anyone help me to diagnose this problem? I hate to "scrap it" for such a small problem, but it is aggravating to not have sound to listen to CD music or internet streaming audio. Thanks in advance for our assistance.

Well I have about 2 backups that I repaired but I'm hanging onto to those they're hard to get out and repair. The kids at the school where I volunteer break them all the time since they're plugging and unplugging the headphones all day long.
You and the others here are lifesavers for these machines.
Well we love these machines as do the kids. I've seen iMacs get hugs and I've never seen that with any other computer. My 9 year daughter won't give up her "Pink" (Strawberry) 400 for anything. I can see myself dropping a LCD in there and driving it with a Mini.
We run OS 9.2.2 in the Trays at the school with images of all the apps and Tiger in the Slots so we can run GarageBand and Music Ace.

Try the following steps.
1. Open up device manager.
2. Locate your audio driver.
3. Right click and uninstall the driver.
4. Go to the toolbar in device manager and select "scan for hardware changes."
5. After it completes, reboot the computer.
Try the audio now and let me know if it continues to have the same issue.

IPod Play/Pause and Sound Issue

After the recent 3.1.2 update I'm having a problem with my iPhone's sound cutting out. It's not the speaker because I can reboot the iPhone and it will come back. I'm also having the issue where when I hit the play button in the iPod app after it switches to the pause button it immediately reverts back to the play button. Has anyone had/resolved the issues?

I was just coming in here to search for an issue like this, and found this thread.
I started experiencing what seems like this same issue yesterday. When playing MUSIC ONLY on the iPod, iPhone 3G, random skipping, within the songs, pausing etc. is occurring. This is not occurring when playing podcasts however.
The other oddity here is it does not happen, when playing through headphones. It's only happening when using an auxiliary cable through my car stereo. I know there is nothing wrong with the jack, or plug, as other devices, including another phone\ipod work just fine.
I'm calling Apple regarding this as I literally just had the phone replaced due to a problem with the ring\vibrate switch falling off, so this is a new\replacment 3G. It's been updated to the latest of everything, so this is really disturbing me at this point.

Apple makes awesome machines!!! - Now a Sound issue!

So, the more I use this amazing machine, the more I find problems with it.
I already have the super cool blinking screen feature, and the pretty graphics artifacts that so many people seem to have, Vista Freezing problem, but today I found a super new awesome feature.
This feature is a cool "laser/R2D2" sound when using headphones. It's really cool cause every time a song stops or there is silence in a song, you hear this cool "pewwww" sound.
Of course I searched the forums and the internet and in typical fashion I found a bunch of people with the problem, but whenever it was brought to the "Apple Techs" they convenienctly can't hear the issue.
So what now? It seems the problem has been happening for some time now, but no one even acknowledges the issue. I can't return my MBP because it's "custom", I can't get it fixed because it seems it doesn't do anything (according to the people on the forums).
If anyone has any ideas as to what to do. So far every day I use this thing there is another cool issue that pops up that Apple doesn't seem to have a fix for other than "replacing the logic board" which seems to be the stock solution.
Can someone please offer some advice. If Apple isn't going to address the issues, then what can we do? Should I just make it a mission to go into the Apple store, and keep opening boxes in the store, testing each computer until I have like 18 open and maybe then they'll say, "Hmmm, maybe there is a problem"
Anyway, any advice would be great...
Dammit...while we're at it...is there a FN key to disable the trackpad temporarily when using a mouse...I'm tired of typing and having it screw up when my thumb happens to rest on the pad.

First, I'm sorry but I don't just willy nilly post things before I do my homework on them. I have had this computer for exactly one week now and I have spent the whole week on forums, reinstalling software, on the phone with Apple, calling my friends who have macs, and driving 4 hours to the Apple store to try and get some answer.
For a computer that is supposed to, "just work" I have had to put in a lot of effort for that to happen and as a result I haven't gotten any work done this week..so you can imagine why I might be a tad cranky considering I have lost money in that process due to this computer not working as claimed.
Secondly, I'm not looking for the cliche answers here like, "This is a user forum", and "not everyone has this problem".
The facts are that while not everyone has this problem, you have to ask yourself why is it that these and other forums are so full of people with the exact problem? If we're talking about laws of chance here, what are the chances of me having so many issues with so many Apple products. Do you think I'm simply the most unlucky person in the world...no, luck is not real...so perhaps it's something else.
My attitude is a direct result in the fact that I am tired of dealing with this stuff and just want my computer to work. It's because I'm tired of calling Apple and having them say, "If it happens again, call us back." I need answers, not people brushing things under the carpet.
On to the technical questions.
There is option in the system preferences to turn off the trackpad. Before you claim there is, they must have taken it out for some reason on the MBP's. There is no option at all, anywhere in the system preferences.
As for all other problems being hardware related...that seems to always be the general assumption, and solution around here. Keep getting logic boards replaced until you get a good one.
I don't buy it, and honestly....my friend said it perfect today when I asked him about these issues, he said, "You're asking your mac, and the community for answers they don't have....Macs are made for the masses, not for people who actually know what they're doing, if something goes wrong, you take it back and stand there dumbfounded while they swap out parts."
He's been a mac user for 8+ years.
I'm a pc user...so when there is an issue I look to find the solution. I want it solved on mine and all other computers. Taking the computer in 2, 10, 50 times to get the logic board replaced does nothing until I understand what the issue is.
The sound thing may be driver related (hence why I emailed Reaktek), the graphics issues might be software related....but the problem is that Apple is the only company I have ever dealt with that just denies no wrong. When I call them they put me through these asinine steps that obviously have nothing to do with solving the issue. When I give them the troubleshooting information I have gathered, they go, "hmmmm".
I can't email anyone at Apple because they have no email, so I have to explain all the issues over and over again to some customer service person who really doesn't know anything and the problem never gets into the right hands.
Anyway, I need 6 issues solved and those are.
1. Graphic Artifacting
2. Flickering Screen
3. R2-D2 Sound issue
4. Vista Freezing
5. Improper Fan control in Vista/OSX
6. Turning off Trackpad
If I can get these solved (and these are not unreasonable), then you guys probably won't hear from me for a while. So if anyone has any advice on how to solve any of these it would be great.
I AM (if this helps eliminate any of these responses) go and get my logic board replaced, but I am waiting for official Apple response on the graphic artifacts before I go and do that so I know I'm not just getting another one with another problem.
