Replacement for VB6 Learner's Edition that runs on Windows 8

Hi, I am a Visual Basic hobbyist with LOTS of applications developed on my Windows XP laptop. When Microsoft abandoned support for XP, I bought a Windows 8 laptop. VB6 (LE) won't run on Windows 8. Where can I get a replacement? Note - VB6 LE)
was free when I got it. I need a free or cheap replacement for VB6, but do not need (or want) a full-blown version of VB--just the features available with Learner's Edition. Any ideas? Will I have to download the Visual Studio environment?

Reed Kimble posted for VS Community 2013? There's plenty of training information for VS.
Otherwise see the results of the search below for possibly installing an antique which can not perform 64 bit on Win 8. And if you live long enough to require Windows 10 then you will have to move to something new at which point in time you will probably
be too old to learn new things and be kicking yourself in the arse for not having moved to something new back in 2015.

The first thing you should do is re-write your post to make it a bit more understandable. I got you have an Epson printer connected to your PC, however after that your post doesn't make any sense. Are you attempting to print from your iMac, if so then you need to download and install Bonjour for Windows on your Windows machine. Then set Windows so it has printer sharing turned on and then on the iMac simply follow Apple's instructions for adding a printer.

The current updates 10.1.13 and 11.0.10 no longer support Windows XP SP3. The last versions to test were 10.1.10 and 11.0.3 I think. But I wouldn't recommend using those because of the Security Updates in between those versions and the current updates. Microsoft doesn't even support Windows XP SP3 any longer. I would say to try updating both the OS and the applications.

Does anybody have an edited oidspadi.sh that will run in the cywin environment? I am a unix person trying to install the external authentication plug in on an app server running on windows. For some reason, it never installs adwhencompare or the other one - I don't remember the name off the top of my head. If someone can tell me what to edit or share a copy already edited I would really appreciate it. I've already wasted a couple of days on this. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Why doesn't oracle provide a file that works in the windows environment if that is a supported environment????

We know this is working since we are able to run ESS. However, for the custom WebDynpro ABAP application, when calling it for the first time, a logon screen shows up. How can we get rid of it? what are we missing to have SSO work for the custom WebDynpro application?

No, there is no 64 bit version that will run on XP.
However if you are prepared to to some hacking, some people have got ot to work.

Based on what I read you run it interactively (in BIDS), why?
Yellow means something is not right with the task. Fix it!
You of course can automate, but not purely with SSIS, so make up your mind what constitutes a threshold in terms of wait time, and then before running the culprit task insert a record into a table indicating its start. Next you may want to have a trigger
starting an Agent job that checks say every 5 min if there is a record signalling the end of the task until the threshold elapses and then the job would send an-mail to your DBA.

What is the replacement for Adobe PhotoDeluxe Business Edition?

It worked fine on my XP computer but won't install on 7. Right now if I want to use it, I have to copy the photos to an external hard drive, unplug the monitor, external hard drive, mouse and keyboard cables from my 7 computer and connect them to the XP computer and boot it up, use the program, copy the pictures to the EHD again, then reverse the cable swap. It's getting old to say the least. What is a compatible version that would work on 7? An older version is fine as I rather just buy it used on Ebay anyway. And I don't want to learn a new system so it must Adobe. Would any of the Photoshop Elements 3, 4, 5, etc. work?

How can I stop Foxfire from automatically loading when I turn on my computer that runs on Windows Vista?

Foxfire automatically loads when I boot up my computer after all the other essential programs boot up. I'd like to know how to disable the start-up menu link that allows the program to load up when the computer first starts up because the Foxfire browser isn't needed when I first start the computer. Besides, when I first start my computer, it's inevitably not hooked to the internet and it's just a bit annoying to see foxfire load when it's not needed. Furthermore, it takes up precious memory in the RAM when it's running, thus slowing down my machine. Please, someone show me how to keep this program from booting when I start up my computer. By the way, my system is Windows Vista and Foxfire does not show up in the start-up folder. Only by going to the default program page and clicking on Foxfire does it show that Foxfire has a hidden default that makes it start when the computer starts. All I'm looking for is to not see it when I boot my computer.

Thanks for pointing me to the link about the startup programs changes. I found the solution there. Foxfire was hiding in the hidden startup menu. Once I found it using msconfig, I was able to stop it from loading when I started my computer. Again, thanks for the help.

You will have to order an Adobe Cross Platform Swap to use your software on an OS different from the one that you purchased it for. For more details, see the document Order an Adobe product platform swap or language swap. If your need to use the software is real urgent, I'd recommend that you install a trial version till you get your serial number from Adobe.
