Replacement Install disks - not available in the UK?
I have a late 2007 Mac Book and do not have the install disks for it.
After reading various posts on this discussion that said Apple US could supply the replacement disks for a nominal fee ($32.50), I phoned Apple UK to ask how much they would charge.
They said they do not supply replacement disks and I would have to buy a full retail OS X install pack and suggested I wait for the retail install pack of Snow Leopard.
Can anyone verify that is correct and if so, why is the policy so different between Apple US and Apple UK?

you should really have asked for the install disks when you bought it, but I guess you know that in hindsight.
If you are worried about what you would do, if something goes wrong, then buy an external drive and use Carbon Copy Cloner to create a bootable clone of your hard-drive. Then whatever happens to your internal HD you can boot into the external and if your internal HD ever becomes corrupted you can at least restore back to your current status.
I'm almost certain the £25 snow leopard upgrade can be used for a clean install on its own but I don't know about the legal stuff, like whether having a second hand system means you own the license to Leopard required for the SL upgrade. You'd need to look into that.

How do I install LP9-- not available in the app store.
I purchased LPX when it was released and haven't had too many problems. However, I just recently bought an Axiom 49 midi controller and, although the installation instructions, m-audio support, and many other sources have said I don't need extra driver software or new bundles, the controller does not connect with my software. I have the lastest update of Mac OSX (10.9.2 beta) so, I know that is not the issue.
It seems that my biggest issue here is not having LP9. Most people have reccomended that you move the sound bundle from 9 to the midi device plug-ins, to lpX. I cannot download lp9 from the app store as it is no longer being sold, and I am not sure what else I would be able to do at this point. Any help is much appreciated!!You can't get L9 anymore. However, you need a new version of the M-Audio software, because it seems to install in the wrong place.

Shockwave installed but not available in the Program Files list
I have the latest version of this program successfully in my PC (Windows XP) but I can not associate a file extension supposed to be used with this program because the system does not find it and I can not find the access route to it.
What file(s) do you want to associate with Shockwave Player?
SW player is a browser add-on, not a standalone player.

My MacbookPro is only 5 months old and in really good condition. The only problem I am encountering is that when I insert any type of dvd disc, it starts to make this weird grinding noise that goes eeee-eeee, and then does that a couple of times and then the disc ejects on its own. When i try to play it with idvd, it does the same noise thing and then iDvd state "supported disk not available". The dvd does not even read on the computer.
If only five months old it is still under warranty. Take it back.

I've beeing having problems with Itunes since about january, wheneveer i click on itunes the error message reads "The file 'ituneslibrary.itl' cannot be opened because it was created by a newer version on of itunes", yet when i try to updat to itunes 11 or uninstall itunes from my computer i keep on getting a message stating "the feature you are trying to use is on a RD-ROM or ohter removable disk that is not available insert the 'itunes' disk and click OK" what is the best way to fix this problem?

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

I just installed Yosemite. iPhoto is gone, and Photos does not open. Instead, I am prompted to update to the latest version. The App Store tells me that is not available in the US. What do I do? Cannot access any photos.

Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Download and install the OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 Combo Update.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

How Do I revert to Snow Leopard from Lyon?
The backups prior to Lyon install are not available... the restore button is not active.

Adobe is not going to swap 13 for 12. It is selling only 13 download as you found out. So, you are going to have to purchase 12 if you want to use that program. It may still be available at some retail locations, such as Amazon.

My mac air 2011 was stolen, but luckily i got it back. The one who stole it had been using it, so i erased both HD drives. Now it cant get lion x installed because it is not available in the App store. What to do ?

Thank you for your responses.. To Sjazbec, At least you guys in Germany and the Netherlands have some kind of posters from Apple to let you know that the feature is not available.
There is no such warning on the Irish Apple site.!
My point was that, I would not have even considered trying to reorganize my itunes library had I known that the feature is not available in Ireland.
And that falls into the domain of Apple Ireland advertising.. which I"m sorry to say is false and misleading.
There are no "posters" telling the Irish customer that icloud / itunes music is not available!
I"m not blaming Apple for not "having the feature" in Ireland.. I am upset at them for falsing advertising a feature that they cannot for whatever reason deliver to Irish customers..

Not enough disk space available on the proxy
Wondering if someone might be able to shed some light here.
Trying to deploy a 16GB flar image, but it fails claiming there is not enough disk space on the proxy, however the proxy appears to have plenty of space in /var:

Importing a small motion movie into fcpx and I get this error "There is not enough disk space available at the selected destination. Please choose another one or clear some space" the destination is a new 6TB raid thats empty. I've created a new library on that drive and still get the same error! help..

TC backup starts very slowly & stops..."TM cldn't complete bkup to TC. The bkup disk is not available." The TC bkup disk shows up in sys pref with plenty of avail disk space. Suggestions?

There's been a few of these today. I think there must be a problem with the redemption server and you probably just need to wait a while and try again.

I am updating my school's operating system for my iPads. I have been able to complete 2 carts of 30 (60 total). The next cart I was able to download the IOS6.3.1 update but it states the install is not available. Good internet connection. Please advise.....
