Replacement Keyboard at Apple Store?

Hello all,
My Powerbook has a sticking / jamming 'H' key and the spacebar is a bit weak.
If I head into a Apple Store, say the one I will be near at the Towson Town Center this weekend, do they have replacement parts in the store?

SoHo isn't your only option in NYC. Take a look at the excerpt below:
Sorry about your experience. The Apple Store in SoHo is especially hectic, and perhaps not the best place to go for service in NYC, especially if you're already a little agitated before you go in there.
In the future, consider servicing your computer at (my favorite) Digital Society on East 10th Street ( http://www.digsoc.com/ ) or Tekserve on West 23rd Street ( http://www.tekserve.com/ ). Both are AASPs and Apple Specialists.

    I am not sure what device you are trying to replace the battery on, but usually the battery is at least 30% of the cost of the device from what I have read. Apple likes to keep a monopoly on batteries I think. I have never seen them replace a battery at the store, usually they have to ship it out. You can find batteries for sale online, but you will have to crack the device open yourself.

    Schedule an appointment with the Genius bar and let them evaluate the device.  Where it was purchased (online or in store) is not relevant. 
    Keep in mind though, warranty and service are only available in the country where the device was originally sold by Apple or their official reseller.

    If the iPhone has, subsequent to the original purchase, been legitimately unlocked (as happens in UK )by the carrier, then a replacement either as a warranty or out of warranty will be unlocked as long as the transaction is carried out in original country.
    However make sure the Genius is clearly aware that the iPhone is unlocked
    I have replaced an iPhone4 in warranty and replacement was correctly locked whilst a 3G was unlocked by O2 and the out of warranty replacement was correctly unlocked

    I did not have my backup with me when my hard drive failed and was replaced at the Apple store. Now it will not download to my new hard drive. A message says that "the volume has the worng case sensitivity for a backup". How can I resore my data from the backup?

    It might help to think of the Apple Store Genius Bar in the same way that you would think of an auto mechanic's service bay.  Imagine that you have towed in a disabled car to have it fixed.  When the repair is done, the mechanic hands you the keys to a different model with a different engine and different option package.  Great deal right?  As I'm sure you can imagine, real life does not work this way. 
    You will only drive out with the same model that you towed in.  If you want a different model, your solution is not in the service department, but on the sales floor.  The Apple store is no different.

    Yes.  Apple honors the 1-year warranty on Apple products based only on date of purchase.
    Id the issue is a manufaturing defect, the warranty covers the replacement.
    If you bought AppleCarePlus (not just AppleCare) you only pay $49 for a replacement in case of damage caused.
    If you do not have AppleCarePlus you pay upwards of 1/2 the cost of a new unit in case of damage for a replacement.

    Hi, I bought my unlocked iPhone 4S at a local mobile shop in Singapore early this year and lately the phone has hung and reset by itself on a number of occasions. I cannot even update the phone over the air.  Is it possible for me to have it check or even replaced it at the Apple Store Genius Bar in HK?  Or do I have to have it repaired or replaced locally in Singapore itself?     The warranty is only valid in the country of original sale (The EU is considered 'one country' for service and warranty purposes.)
    If you bought it in Singapore, you will have to take it back for service in Singapore.

    If you bought your on iphone screen and fixing it yourself would void the warranty.  Therefore, if you buy the screen and ask apple specialist to put it on, is basically the same things. Visit your nearest apple store pay for the repair and you should receive 90 days warranty with that repair (that doesn't include another accidental drop)... While you at the apple store, find a strong case to avoid any more damages.

    Apple doesn't fix the screen, it replaces the phone.  You can bring your phone in to your nearest Apple Store, or call Apple Care and arrange to send your phone in to Apple.
    Since accidental damage is NOT covered by any manufacturer's warranty, you will pay $149.00 for an out of warranty replacement for any iPhone beside the 4S.  For the 4S, it's $199.00, unless you've purchased AppleCare+, in which case you'll pay $50.00
