Replacement model for Toshiba Tecra M2

Hi, I have one Toshiba Tecra M2 laptop and i plan to replace it. Just wondering what is the replacement model for Tecra M2? Thx

Hi again
In my opinion there can be more different reasons for this. Lot of additional software can be responsible for processor activity like some antivirus software. Some multiple programs that start with OS can also make processor very busy. Did you install some of them?
It can be also some setting in Power management like Processor speed or Inel Speed step setting.
If you need more power for some complex operations it will be useful to extend RAM.
Bye

  • Replacement Model for the discontinued HP Photosmart C4783 All-in-One Printer

    Hello,
Can anyone tell if there is a very similar replacement model for the C4783? I need the same forn factor.

I am not sure you can find replacement models for this printer but I will do my best to find out. The entire product line for Photosmart C4600 and C4700 are the last models to use that same printer shape and size.  I checked for compatible printers that used that kind of ink and none even looked like the same kind of printer.  The next generation was the Photosmart D110 which would have been the possible upgraded version of this printer but it is hard to say if it is going to have the same "forn factor."
Are you referring to the form factor as the chassis or as an electrical component?  I found your exact model of printer at the HP Parts Store listed as a replacement model (product #: Q8380B) suggesting to contact one of these available resellers.  I hope this answers your questions.  If not, define forn factor and hopefully I can help you more.
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.

  • Replacement model for Cisco 7945g.

I'm needing to order more phones for my company due to company growth. Our most common phone model is the 7945g and for all intents and purposes that model has been solid with few issues for us and I do not hesitate to reorder that model again. I also do not see EOS or EOL information for the model which makes me believe it'll be around for quite a bit longer. With that being said, I'm looking for some peoples opinions and experiences on other newer phone models that may sway me from the 7945. Besides the obvious hardware upgrades with newer models (Video, Wireless,  etc...), I'm really looking to see if the other models are stable with little need for consistent firmware upgrades.
    Any suggestions?

The 794X and 796X as well as the 797X series has been the best and most solid build I have ever seen from Cisco.  I've had multiple bad ones from the 7800 series so I would avoid those, plus they just aren't as good in an environment already on the 7900 platform. The only other ones are the 8900 and 9900 series.  Can't really think of any other phones with buying for a large company unless you need a break room phone and can make go with a 3900 series.

  • Replacement Printer for HP 2100TN

I have an obsolete (according to HP) networked printer which has ceased to function. No one can tell me why it has stopped. It was designed to work with OS9, and I am now using OS10.4.8, and HP will not support it, or even answer questions. I get the following error message:
"Unable to connect (retry in 30 seconds). Cannot allocate memory."
Siince I cannot figure out why it won't work, and need a printer, I would like to replace it. Can anyone recommend a home network printer as a replacement? Color is not necessary, but do wish to stay with a Laser printer.

  • PLEASE RECOMMED IBM THINKPAD 1GHZ vs TOSHIBA TECRA PENTIUM-II FOR DBA & DEV

Which laptop is recommended to use for better performance workstation for
parallel use of Oracle Database Administration tools and the Oracle Development
kit out of IBM ThinkPad 1GHz with at least 256MB RAM and around 30GB of disk
space vs Toshiba Tecra Pentium-II with lesser memory and disk space for daily
extensive parallel use of full Oracle Enterprise Manager Version 2.2.0.0.0, DBA
Studio and the Developer-2000 6/6i alongwith other SQL Applications for
rigorous testing and output in addition to other office applications for daily operations.
Please provide any reasons/suggestions if applicable.

Per Oracle Enterprise Manager Installation Guide for Release 2.2, part no. A85215-01 Minimum RAM requirement is 128 MB, and recommended is 256 MB. You will need additional memory for Developer 2000, and your SQL applications. One more thing ... don't forget to reserve some memory for the Operating System to run !
Based on this, your applications will barely run with 256 MB of memory. If I were you, I would not go anything less than 512 MB of RAM for serious development work. Memory is cheap these days.
By the way, Oracle software is not smart enough to distinguish brands like Tecra from Thinkpad !!! You need to look at the minimum and recommended values for Hardware Requirements of each product. Hope this helps.

  • Replacement keyboard for model 2000-104CA??

    Hello all,
I need to replace the keyboard on:
    The model is: 2000-104CA
    Product: LV987UA#ABC
    Rev. : 3577-100
#1. Can someone please tell me what the keyboard part # is?
#2. I tried removing the keyboard (after the fact) and the video instructions, located here: http://h20574.www2.hp.com/results.htm?SID=5059088&MEID=FAA31BDC-56B6-472D-BA7B-4295B0216628 seem incorrect.
The instructions state to remove 1 5mm P1 screw, then press down with a probe tool in the hole indicated. All I ended up doing with pushing out the "insert" key. I can slightly lift that top side of the keyboard but there is definitely something locking down the keyboard around speaker mute/speaker + function keys.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thank you

IBM indicates your part numbers could be this: 39T7353 or this: 39T7417 if you have a laptop designed for English in the USA.
Try these people: http://www.acsparts.com/contact_us.asp   Do check your machine first (remove the keyboard & look at its exact part number).  They can order things they don't have in stock from the warehouse.  I bought a replacement keyboard for my 3000 N200 from them a few months ago, it was an exact replacement.

I need to order a replacement battery for Model A1185. Where can I get one?

You can get a new third party battery fairly cheap on eBay. Every MacBook from 2006 through Mid 2009 except the Late 2008 Aluminum Unibody and the Late 2009 and 2010 White Unibodies use the same A1185 battery.

Or for $129 from The Apple Store  http://store.apple.com/us/product/MA566LL/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY
I've bought used MacBooks off of eBay for my family, nine of them so far over the last 6 years. I've bought 8 batteries off of eBay sellers, just going with the cheapest. Only had one with a problem, it gave out after 6 cycles. That one was replaced under the warranty by the seller. The only other batteries that have been a problem were Apple branded batteries that started bulging. I've had two of those happen.

  • Where can i get a replacement woofer for an ipodhifi ipod dock speaker model a1121)

where can i get a replacement woofer for an ipodhifi model a1121

Some items come up in a search for Mac parts UK; whether or not they have
an exact part match for any vintage product has not been searched...
Most that I have looked into, show any battery "out of stock" &/or listed "used."
A good electronics shop with an understanding of how these batteries are wired
in their case (and any controller chip circuitry) should be able to install new cells
inside the case; however opening these may present a problem if done forcefully.

    http://www.applemacparts.co.uk/store/index.php
    http://www.theappleshack.co.uk/
In the US, wegenermedia.com, powerbookmedic.com, & others may know of stock.
So far, I'd struck out searching; could be one may need to contact long standing
Apple specialists & those who repair vintage models, to get refurbished batteries.
Perhaps there is a message board or User Group site where one could try & contact
Apple users; of those some may know of a source, or an individual capable of repair
since these battery units have been refurbished before with new rechargeable cells.
Sorry to not be of exact help in this matter.
    Good luck & happy computing!

I have a HP Split x2 and a HP Envy Phoenix 810.  I use a Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 with both of them.  It is a smaller mouse, but works great.  This would work as long as you have an extra USB 2.0 port.

  • CPU Upgrade on Toshiba Tecra M3

    Hi,
I just finished refurbishing my Toshiba Tecra M3 (64MB Nvidia 6200 model) which had been dead for 6 months. Basically it had the mainboard changed (applied new daimond thermal grease over GPU/CPU due to overheating issue), new screen installed, new 160GB Samsung 5400 HDD and body plastics refursbished too and at present its working like a charm and as new condition inside out. The system currently holds a Pentium M 750 CPU (1.86GHZ) and I'm aware that such models supports up to 2.13GHZ. I have tried to replace the CPU with a 2.0GHZ Pentium M 760 SL7SM model however upon boot up, laptop powers up fine to bios but pwoers down soon after. Any idea's what the issue may be? The BIOS has been upgraded to 1.50 (latest version)
    Thanks for any help.

Hi again, just managed to solve the issue by myself. I have resetted the mainboard from the bottom (aside VGA heatsink), reinstalled again latest version of BIOS i.e 1.50 and now I can run my Tecra M3 on a 2.26GHZ CPU (Pentium M 780).
P.S Currently averaging a 60deg temp CPU at high usage. Not that bad for the BBQ warrior.

  • Toshiba tecra a11-17c refusing to boot from LAN

    Hello
I am working on a Toshiba tecra a11-17c. We currently have about 18 of the same laptop and the person who originally built the computers has left the office we are currently working at.
The issue I am have is that I  want to boot the computer from lan and do a windows 7 installation on the laptop but I keep getting the error "Media test failure, check cable"
I know the cable is working because I was able to build a Toshiba satellite pro l20 perfectly fine
The other Toshiba tecra a11-17c laptops have the same issue when trying to rebuild them too
I am fully able to log into a Toshiba tecra a11-17c and connect to the internet via the same network cable and port when in windows.
I have also tried to swap the hard drive with a different tecra a11-17c but it just kept getting a blue screen as soon as the windows flag appeared.
I then tried a format of the hard drive and a reset to default of the bios settings as suggested in a different forum.
I then tried to clone a fully working hard drive from a different fully working tecra a11-17c and it just dose the blue screen as stated above.
I then used an old windows XP recovery disk for the tecra a11-17c it did the build fine no issues then when it came to build to windows but as stated above it just dose a blue screen the same as windows 7.
Now I have no idea what to do but to believe it is something Toshiba has done with the tecra a11-17c range because its the same issue for all 18 of the tecra a11-17c laptops I have here.
Any way I am at a loss and have no idea what to do it seems to be something as simple as the network card need to be turned on during the boot phase but I can not find anything in the bios.

I'm sorry but I have no experience doing what your attempting to do.  However, for your information, this site is for U.S. models only and I would suggest you also post in the appropriate regional Toshiba Support forum to get better suggestions.  Good luck

  • Toshiba Tecra M1 - Won't reboot

    Hello @ll
This is my first post on this forum. I write from poland, so forgive me for my poor english.
I have a problem with my old laptop (Toshiba Tecra M1). Computer won't reboot. After the Arch installation everything was fine, command init 6 was working correctly. When I was doing installs and configurations (adds daemon's to rc.conf, modifying fstab, install KDEmod etc.) i was rebooting system to see how it works. I don't know when, but after 3th, maybe 4th reboot system won't boot. I can see the screen which contains information about closing daemons, but after this listing I can see only black screen, computer stops and nothing happens.
    Thanks for any advices

On this virtual way nobody can say for sure what the problem is. As Joe already wrote it is hardware related issue and it should be checked by technicians. Fact is that this Tecra M1 is pretty old notebook model (I had it 8 years ago) so I think repair is not a option.
