Replacement new ipad will not access my home wi fi when my previous i pad did and my i phone continues to, as does my laptop and desk top pcs. Any ideas as Apple support were baffled for most of yesterday afternoon trying to fix it.
My ipad had been working fine with home wi fi for 9 months before it developed a fault and was replaced by the Apple Store. However, the new ipad is unable to use the home wi fi, this seems to be linked to the fact the new ipad has the latest update added, which the old one did not. Also, my iphone has not, as yet, been updated as I have been out of the country. I know my wi fi works, as both my desktop and laptop pcs work satisfactorily, as does my iphone.
Try this:
Reboot ipad by pressing and holding both the home and sleep/wake buttons at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go. Then try to connect to network.
Go to settings, Toggle airplane mode on/off. Make sure bluetooth is off. Turn on wif (airplane mode off). Try to connect.
Reset Network Settings
Go to settings/general/reset/reset network settings. Then try to connect to network.
If its your home router, then reboot router by unplugging for 5-10min. (do this while you're resetting network settings).
If problem persists, then check for firmware updates on your router.(you check router manufacturer support website for downloads and instructions).

My ipad will not recognize my home wireless
my ipad will not recognize my home wireless
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

My new ipad will not sync with itunes. the device does not show up in itunes
my new ipad will not sync with itunes. the device does not show up in itunes. I am on a Windows system
Do you have the absolute latest version of iTunes downloaded? If your iTunes software has not been updated in some time, your iPad will not be recognized. With iTunes open, click on Store at the top. Check for available downloads and if there are any, download them. Once you've verified you have the latest software, connect your device again, and it should be recognized.

My new iPad will not sync with itunes. itunes is updated to latest version. Do I need to uninstall itunes and reinstall?
That could be a solution. Are you getting any error messages or error codes? Is the iPad recognized in iTunes? Does anything happen at all when you try to Sync? Can you provide more details?
You can try a very simple first step, quit iTunes, reboot your PC and restart the iPad. -
hi ERROR U41M1C212 for Update Elements 9 and PS CS5. Any Idea what it is? Thanks for Help.

my ipad will not turn on after using it earlier today has anyone else had this problem?
If you have juice left in the battery, Reboot your iPad. Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for at least 10 seconds (hold past the swipe to shut down bar) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart. It's safe and you won't lose any data.

The Message is displayed on my iPad's screen saying:
"iPad has not been backed up to iCloud for more than 2 weeks; backup happens when connected tp WiFi and iPad is locked and plugged in".
I cannot get rid of the message, I cannot unlock the iPad to do anything...it is fully charged, but I don't know what to do to get rid of the message display - it is "stuck" like this! HELP!!SORRY! You had actually answered the other question, so all's well in my world.
I even answered re: my own post on the other thread (DUH!) - I hope that's not a problem...
The instructions were easy to follow, and everything is working just fine. (I didn't know about holding down the 2 buttons simultaneously to get it back to the Apple on the screen. I don't think my old iPad did that - maybe I just didn't have an occasion to need it! (My 1st iPad was the ORIGINAL iPad. I'm SO happy to have the "newest" iPad with Facetime, etc. SUCH a wonderful toy! SO much easier to carry than my MacBook Pro! I'm a happy camper, randers4. :-) -
Hi my new ipad will not charge in mains or PC??
hi I have had my brand new ipad for about a month and i can't seem to get it to charge it charges when it wants so to speak, I've tryed it in the mains in about 10 different plug sockets and on 3 PC's one been a laptop and it doen't charge when you want it to. what help can you give me?????
When you plug into a computer, it may say "not Charging", but it will charge but slowly. If this is the case, the cable is good. Therefore, the wall charger must be defective.
Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

FYI
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
And this - Unplug the charger from the iPad and then replug. May resume charging.
Or - Recalibrate the battery. See link below.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. New ipad will not start?
I just opened the box and charge the new ipad. it will not go to the home page. any suggestions?
If you're getting a screen of iTunes and a cable, then you need to activate it by connecting it to a computer that is running iTunes. Getting Started guide : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4053
The manual, which can be downloaded from here http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipad , also has a chapter on Getting Started
If you are not getting anything on screen then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear (a reset won't remove content, not that you've got any content on it if it''s new, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot). -

My new iPad will not recognize wi-fi password
I have a new iPad and it will not recognize my password to get connected.
The password should be listed on the side of your modem/router,

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html

The New iPad will not sync all photo's
I picked up the new iPad yesterday at the Apple store and am having a problem getting it to sync all of my photo library.
Im using iTunes on Windows 7 to sync the "My Pictures" folder to the iPad.
It will sync some but not all of the folders in the "My Pictures". I have deleted the "iPod Photo Cache" folder, that did not help.
I have 2 iPhones and 2 older iPad 1's which sync the photo's just fine.Maybe, although I always thought there was a threshold for each device below which it wouldn't have to create an "optimized" (re-sized) version. You'd think this would be a high number for the New iPad, giving the screen resolution. For example, my re-sized (3072 on the long edge) pictures aren't being optimized before tranfer -- they're just copying over and they work just fine.
Who knows. I just got off the phone with a tier-2 AppleCare rep (I found this thread while we were on the phone), and he indicated he would pass this thread along to the engineers. It's a pretty obvious bug somewhere in the mix, and one I suspect they'll be all over right away, given the attractiveness of the new iPad to photography types. -
The New iPad will not connect to my wi-fi
I bought The New iPad yesterday. I have iPad One next to it. One will connect to my wi-fi network, the other won't. The New iPad won't.
The problem is the password to the wi-fi network. TNiP seems to want a longer password. My password is 4 characters long (I do not want to hear a word about security and my password) and after I type it the submit button does not highlight unless I key in more characters.
Is there anything I can do?
Cheers,How do I change my router for the iPad?
And why has Apple set up the password to be longer than the other versions? -
New iPad will not sync music, podcasts, or photos
So I sync'd my new iPad yesterday and cannot figure out why my music, videos, movies, photos, and podcasts do not sync. All of my apps carried over, but that's it. I might have 2 seperate email accounts associated with my iPhone and my iPad, but I don't know how to get them on the same account. Any help?
Hi and welcome........
I might have 2 seperate email accounts associated with my iPhone and my iPad, but I don't know how to get them on the same account.
Merging two different e-mail accounts isn't possible but you can use multiple mail accounts on your iPad. Tap Settings / Mail, Contacts, Calendars / Add Account. Do that for each mail account you want.
cannot figure out why my music, videos, movies, photos, and podcasts do not sync.
Make sure iTunes recognizes your iPad.
