Replacement NI board for Ortec Trump PCI multichannel analyzer boards

Hello,
Can anyone suggest a suitable board from NI to replace the Ortec Trump PCI 2k/8k channel boards?
-deepak

The Trump-PCI from PerkinElmer Ortec is a nuclear multichannel analyzer card that is installed directly into PCI-bus slots. The card is available in 2000- and 8000-channel versions with 8-µs fixed conversion time ADC. It features full gating control for coincidence measurements and a Gedcke-Hale live-time clock for operation at high count rates. The Trump-PCI comes with Maestro-32 MCA emulation software and is compatible with current PerkinElmer Ortec software applications and MCA products.

  • I am using an NI PCI 6024 E board device for an analog output application. Can I generate two independent waveforms, one on each analog output channel?

I am using an NI PCI 6024 E board device for an analog output application. Can I generate two independent waveforms, one on each analog output channel? In attach I send a example of my vi to control one chanel, but i need to control both but with diferent waveforms.
Is the vi correctly programed to this propose?

Yes you should be able to do that. look at the signal generation examples shipped with LabView
You can create a 2 D array, with each row representing a wave form per channel. The number of points of the wave form (per row of the 2 D array) represent the number of points in the output buffer
The wave forms can have different amplitudes/shapes, and therefore they are independent in this sense.
However, you need to set the update rate, which is the same for both channels. The update rate together with number of points per buffer determines the frequency of the wave forms. This means the two wave forms will have the same frequency.
To have different frequencies, you need to have say, on wave form with one cycle per buffer, and the other waveform have 2 cycles
per buffer. in a case like that the frequency of the second channels is twice that of the first channel, and so on
The two wave forms are then not truly independent, they may have different amplitudtes/shapes, but related in frequency.

  • Replacement logic board for my 20" cinema display?

I'm looking for good place online to buy replacement logic board for my 20" cinema display. Any suggestions?

You could ask the Apple store to let you have (or buy) one of the boxes they use to send the displays in for repair. They should have these on hand.

    likely display inverter board.
did you get your inverter board replaced already?
    Did you have a question?
If the diagnostic in shop indicates same, thats 1000X better than anyone can do online in "diagnosis" (not really genuine diagnosis of course)

  • USB PCI board for 2009 MAC PRO

I am trying to add some more USB slots. It seems like when I add a powered external USB hub I can still only use a couple of them before the other slots go dead. I assuming this is from power consumption through the unit. Anyway I figured if I added another board directly through the PCI slots that if I use all four slots I shouldn't have an issue. The problem is I've bought two different boards only to find that there are apparently different PCI boards and they wouldn't fit. So can anyone suggest a USB PCI board that they are using trouble free? thanks
    Ed

I like the inexpensive Crest 4 port USB 3 (2 Lane PCIe Rev 2) card. Good MacPro drivers. Only problem is, you have to figure out how to route bus power down to it from teh optical bay - or from an unused hard drive bay. Not easy. Not impossible, but kludgy.
The CalDigit card does not require that, instead getting its power from the PCIe bus.
A decent USB hub (and most of them are garbage) should have ann accessory power supply that will boost bus power provided for attached devices. This is a very good way to run more devices. Choosing a hub is probably the most difficult thing in computers. Only way to know if one will work is lots of reviews or close your eyes when you buy it and test it thoroughly when you get it.

As if apple hasn't made enough money to allow some people to save some money..

Do you think Apple should reward your clumsiness or lack of caution by giving you a logic board for free, or at cost? Come to think of it, shouldn't they just give you a free new computer, and be grateful to you for taking it off their hands?

  • Best board for socket 939?

    Hey All,
I'm getting ready to build a semi cheap server for low end processing.  Can anyone trough out a couple of board models for socket 939 to help me start my research?  I'm looking for a socket 939 single cpu board, preferably with some built in sata raid controller.  Nothing fancy, just reliable.
    Thanks in advance...

  • Can I buy a new Logic Board for an iBook G3 700 12"?

The Logic Board in my iBook G3 700 12" just died. My local reseller says it doesn't qualify for the replacement program.
Anyone know where can I get a NEW Logic Board for my iBook?
I don't like the thought of buying a used on on eBay and having the same problem 6 months from now.
    Thanks!

Hi, and welcome to Apple Discussions.
Yes, but the best place I know actually installs it for less money than they charge you for buying one outright:
    http://www.dttservice.com/ibookg3.html#ibookrepair
They offer a six-month warranty, which is better than most places (including Apple's own 90-day warranty on repairs).

  • Where can I purchase a Logic Board for a 24" Apple Cinema Display?

My 24" Cinema Display started to flicker and black out shortly after I purchased my most recent MacBook Pro.  Apple felt that the issue was the MacBook Pro so they replaced it.  The problem continued so they suggested I take the Cinema Display to the Genius Bar.  The display was out of warranty and the Apple Genius felt the issue was a bad display even after I told him I smelt silicon burning just before it went out completely.  He said that he could "depot" the unit and have it repaired for ~$600.  Due to the high cost of repair, I chose to purchase a new Thunderbolt Display instead.  Recently, I opened the old Cinema Display and found that the Logic Board is fried.  I have ordered a new board from 2 different Web retailers.  Both accepted the purchase as "in stock" but then stated they could not get the board from Apple.  Where can I purchase the Logic Board for a 24" Apple Cinema Display?
    Many thanks!

I was very interested to read this document.  I think there is a problem with the Cinema Display and that it is frying the computer.
My husband bought each of us a macbook pro.  His was hooked up to the cinema display.  After about a year, his MBP started to suffer intermittent failures where it would suddenly shut off and have to be hard rebooted.  After 2 years, the power or logic board on his MBP completely failed. He bought a new MBP and a Thunderbolt display, and I inherited his Cinema Display for use with my original MBP.
After one month of use with the cinema display, my MBP started to have the same problems.  It has to be hard rebooted almost every time I disconnect or reconnect with the cinema display.  I went to the Genius bar, and they confirmed that my MBP logic board needs to be replaced; I'm just holding out until spring break to take it back in, as they say it may take a week.  Fortunately, I have AppleCare for my MBP.
Our cinema display is 3-4 years old, but it looks like, even though it appears to be working, I should probably get rid of it.  I can't keep frying computers!
I'm posting this because I'm wondering how many others are experiencing this problem.

  • Replacement power cable for ATI Radeon 5770?

I'm shopping around for a replacement graphics card for my Mac Pro and I've found several Radeon 5770s that don't have the PCIe power cable included.
Does anyone know what sort of cable they use and if replacements can be purchased?

yes it can be purchased but first, you are shopping for an Apple version, right?
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC742ZM/A
    http://www.amazon.com/Apple-ATI-Radeon-5770-MC742ZM/dp/B003Z6QH6M/
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Apple/6615718/
OWC shows the cable, they also sell separately (maybe why they charge more?)
Amazon had customer photos but not showing one.
I was under the impression that Apple would/was including the cable.

  • How to get a replacement mounting materials for a A1347 Mac Mini HD

    Hello,
I have purchased two Unibody Mac Mini's (A1347) on eBay (one 2010 and one 2011) and both have had the hard drives removed. Now hard drives are easier to replace, but the Unibody Mac's require a rubber or plastic cover and two mounting screws. A good picture of both can be found here:
    https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Mac+Mini+Mid+2010+Hard+Drive+Replacement/3113#s1548 1
My question is, is there an Apple replacement part that contains the cover and two screws? Has any one come up with a good working alternative? I guess if I could find the screws I could use a solid state drive since that wouldn't short on on the case (I think). It really seems like a shame to have these Mac's be useless because of some rubber/plastic and a few screws. This has to be something that an Apple tech runs in to occasionally (said he hopefully). Any input would be greatly appreciated, especially an Apple part number
I've thought of using anti-static bags, but I'm not sure if it could withstand the heat. And then there's the screws/
    Thanks,
    Jason M.

So you're saying the cover only needs to be on one side, even though the Apple cover goes over both. Okay, that makes sense -- the circuit board for the drive is only on one side.
As for the plastic, would blister pack work?
    Thanks for the help,
    Jason M.

The install package there is dated April 2007.
Why did you include USB models in your post about new driver releases? Are they somewhere else?
Hmm... maybe you didn't look close enogh behind the link given for drivers for USB models in my post ... though, those are not new final drivers but as the previous USB driver expired 17 or 18 January, E-MU refreshed them 18 January. Also, I have not informed anything 'bout new drivers for USB but only new driver releases as the subject says.

  • H55 board for a storage server

I'm looking for an H55 board for my storage server  ... H55-GD65 or H55-G43 look like good candidates, I've some concerns though (and neither googling nor reading manual revealed answers to these):
For GD65 - can I populate both PCIe x16 slots with PCIe x4 SATA RAID controllers and will Core i3 integrated graphics continue to work? Manual mentions only graphic cards installation in these slots.
For G43 - can I use both PCIe x1 and PCIe x4 slots simultaneously? There is no limitation mentioned in manual, but as I understand H55 has only 6 PCIe lanes and two of these are likely already used by integrated PATA controller and GBit LAN.
    Thanks,
    haed

Hm, both slots are tied to the CPU.  This is a very specific question which involves the way the CPU assigns/handles the lanes as much as the BIOS.  As far as I know, the Core i3 processors with integrated graphics only provide one x16 PCI Express interface (as opposed to a Core i5 processors (x16/x0 or x8/x8)).  I have not seen any user here so far that actually tried to do that.  Perhaps it is best you ask MSI Technical Support directly about this:
    http://support.msi.com/
    Will try, thanks!

Not sure if we are talking about the same mainboard, but the H55-G43 only has two PCI-E x1 slots:
    http://eu.msi.com/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=1&prod_no=2019
Yes, it's the same board - specs mention:
    Quote
    PCI-E Gen     Gen2 (1x16, 1x4)
    PCI-Ex1     2
My guess is that 1x16 slot is connected to CPU, 1x4 slot to H55 and two x1 slots to H55 as well ... and I'm wondering what will happen if I'll populate 1x4 slot with x4 card (SATA RAID) and both x1 slots with x1 cards (GBit ethernet).
