Replacement phone keeps asking to be activated

I had a problem with a dead pixel on my iPhone so went back to the store and they swapped it straight away with no hassle at all. The Apple Genius plugged the new phone into his computer and said he needed to activate the phone so it will work with the sim card from my iPhone, I signed a bit of paper and went on my way. When I plugged the phone into my computer (iBook G4) and opened iTunes, it asked me to activate my phone. I input my telephone number and email address and it said thanks your phone is now activated (also received a confirmation email) and it then re-synced from the previous backup of my phone. All good so far....
However the next day when I wanted to sync my phone again to load some more songs onto the phone, iTunes came up with the same message again saying I needed to activate my phone (Even though the phone was clearly activated (was showing o2 network in the top left and I was calling and receiving sms fine) So again I input my telephone number and email address and got another confirmation email saying my phone had been activated. It has done this a few times now (3 or 4) and I don't know why. Any ideas?

Try restoring as previously suggested; I had a similar issue with ATT here in the USA when I swapped phones (iPhone for a different model, with also a different SIM card) for a couple of days. When I went back to my iPhone, with a different SIM card, but with the same line of service, the iPhone complained with the same message, even after it was re-activated through iTunes. Did a complete restore (you will lose all your info and settings, so don't forget to do a backup). The complete restore seems to have fixed the issue on my phone.

Remember, any purchased item from the itunes store is forever associated with the Apple ID used to buy it. So when you get prompted for an ID/password and it doesn't accept it, then you are using the wrong ID.
Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores, be sure it's logged into the ID you have set on the iphone (since that one seems to be connecting with the right ID). If you've done this, then you might wait a bit to see if the "cannot connect to .. store" message has to do with internet connections.

Phone keeps asking for password on an Apple ID I never created. On my sons phone, it keeps asking for his password for a supposed Apple ID I NEVER CREATED! I've tried every combination of passwords I can imagine and every route I can think of. It won't let me delete the account until I can sign in with that password. Somehow, the find my iPhone has created a loop that won't let me do anything after loading ios7. It won't even let me delete all contents or settings without the password! In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out of the account from your iOS device first, then sign back using your updated details. (Settings > store, scroll down and tap your ID)

Sounds like someone else used the phone. You won't be able to use that phone until and unless the previous owner either gives you the passcode, or removes that device from Find my Phone from their iCloud account.

I believe once you set and input the password on your iPhone it will NEVER ask you for it again, unless you restore your phone as a new device.
So, set a password, input it, then you shouldn't see that popup anymore.

Just because it is an 'old' email doesn't mean it's not a valid Apple ID account.
Is the email that is showing one of your old email accounts? If so, did you ever edit your Apple ID and change the primary email of your Apple ID to a new email, or did you simple create a totally new Apple ID?

I had to change my personal email address that was linked to my iTunes and iCloud. According to the information in my Apple ID, it is switched over. My phone, however, disagrees with me. You need to check icloud on the phones setting you will see the old email there

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

Start with the Settings app
Settings > iTunes and App Store > tap on your Apple ID and then tap on Sign Out
Then sign in with your correct Apple ID and password.
