Replacement Product for AS5400XM
Hi Techies,
One of our customer wants to replace AS5400XM being it is EOS/EOL , and looks for a replacement product which basically should
support
· SS7 to SIP ,· SIP to SS7 , SIP to SIP , SS7 to SS7
The parameters required for the gateway mainly are:
· DNIS based Routing,· CLI based Routing , BNUM based Routing ,Trunk based Routing , Port based routing , Peer based routing
· Multiple match rules from above based routing
The SS7 gateway MUST support alphanumeric Routing Numbers (RN), used in number portability. If possible we would also like lookup based routing (lookup to a number portability table which can be xml based lookup).
when I check with cisco they replied cisco exited from ss7 business and the above requirement cannot be supported.
but one of my peer suggested me that SS7 connections can be terminated on a cisco voice router

can you guys please give some of ideas and suggestions on this.
Basically the client is an ITSP with multiple TDM connections , in case of going for above solution where will be the pvdm resources be located
to support 2000 calls

What is the replacement product for iWeb?
I am a current user of iWeb. I understand that iWeb is no longer an application suite. Could any recommend a product that provide a standard template as iWeb?
I really prefer an product that I can easily migrate my iWeb page into without major rework.
Thank you.iWeb 09 is still part of the boxed set of iLife 11 and is still available. It is an application and will continue to work on your Mac with Snow Leopard and Lion so you can continue to use it to maintain your sites and there is no need to change at all.
If you want to look at other programmes there is RapidWeaver, Sandvox or Flux 3. However, RapidWeaver and Sandvox have no import facility so if you use either of these, you'll have to re-build yoru stie from scratch.
Flux 3 can open your existing site, but it is a steeper learning curve than either of the others.
You can stick with iWeb for the time being though. There is no rush to change as it will still work. -
Does Cisco Prime have a replacement product for NCM or Network Compliance Manager?
Does the Cisco Prime application development team have a product that replaces the NCM or Network Compliance Manager?
Both Prime and LMS can do baseline compliance, after a fashion. LMS's is much more mature in my estimation. Prime is more around the lines of deploying templates.
The regulatory compliance functions as of now are in only LMS's Compliance and Audit Manager (CAAM) function. It's quite useful, matching the baseline compliance features.
An LMS license is included with PI, but it does need to be on its own server (or separate VM). -
VFM (Virtual File Manager): End of life and replacement products
In our organization, we are heavy users of VFM (Virtual File Manager) for DFS management and file replication. Unfortunately VFM is going end of life in Nov 2012 and we have not been able to find suitable product(s) to replace its functionality.We have looked at many alternate products, including Autovirt and ScriptLogic SecureCopy for DFS management and file migration/replication and have not found a suitable replacement so-far. The products we have seen so-far do not scale well for larger environments and do not provide the ability to import or batch create tasks. For the DFS management functionality, it looks like Netapp may be able to create a custom tool for us, but we have not found anything suitable from the replication/migration side of things. We are looking for suggestions for replacement products for the functionality of VFM. Has anyone identified a successor for VFM that would still work within larger environments? Any suggestions would be appreciated.You can get the same functionality that was provided by this product if you take a slightly different approach by using symlinks or CIFS widelinks. I've been using a script I wrote which effectively replaced what we were doing in Netapp VFM. I create symlinks in the main share that I consider to be the primary tier of storage. The symlinks are to the folders residing on secondary SATA tiers of storage. This script parses through the secondary tier, then adds said symlink into the main tier. To enable this you basically change the options in your share to allow external shares to be traversed (though, it's on the same storage system itself). Create a hidden clone share for the primary tier and change the option on that share to not follow external links/only allow internal. That share will then show the secondary tier folders as 0 byte files that are the shortcuts, you can literally manage those by deleting those files, or using the remove-nafile command in the PowerShell toolkit. This is 7-mode still, but you could do this approach all the same w/ cifs widelinks. This script itself only parses and creates the symlinks that point to secondary tiers of storage, it isn't doing any data migration. You could very easily integrate it into a data migration workflow where you scanned your main tier for folders that have files that haven't been modified in say a year, then auto move those to the SATA tier, then run this script. You could go one step further and auto move them back to primary if you detect your SATA share were in use again, just delete the symlink shortcut and migrate back to primary by doing a standard copy from the one share to other. In addition, this in my opinion is better than using a DFS shortcut for reach folder on each tier of storage whereever it was (like NetApp/Brocade VFM did). Essentially the client was handling linking the shortcuts. This moves the responsibility to the server building and presenting the share and the client knows no different. On a Mac system, this makes a HUGE difference as it is only seeing one DFS pointer in this approach. I have an English language PDF, a medical device brochure, the content of which has already been translated into Thai (in Word). I want to replace the original English in the PDF with the Thai translation easily without altering any other aspect of the brochure, like graphics, images, margins etc. (No doubt I'll have to tweak line height, font sizes and paragraph lengths a little.) I'm unsure of what would be the best Adobe product for this purpose, e.g. Illustrator, InDesign or Acrobat (or something else), that would allow me simply to open the PDF, replace the English with Thai in an attractive Thai font (to be embedded), make minor layout tweaks, then save without any compression so the quality and colours of the original photos, artwork, and graphical elements are preserved. I've heard Office 2013 allows direct editing of a PDF but I'm not sure if it converts, alters or compresses PDF graphics in some way when first opening the file. Could anyone with relevant experience please advise? Thanks in advance.
Adobe's only offering here is Adobe Acrobat. However, I must say something. I have heard from many people who sought to translate a PDF in this way. NONE SUCCEEDED. PDF is not suitable for this purpose. Obtain the original, this should be part of your contract for translation. If this is impossible, expect to remake the document; Word is probably unsuitable for a brochure of this type, maybe InDesign.

What step should i take next.Where did you get the phone?
That phone was replaced by Apple or an AASP and was not returned to Apple as it should have been, or it was stolen from Apple or somewhere in the supply chain.
You can not get support from Apple for that phone.
Return it to wherever you got it and get your money back. -

I doubt it since that type of damage is caused by the user, not a defect. You can always make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store and ask

I brought ipad just 28 days back before this problem arrives...
I got my iPad Air replaced once due to a tiny crack on the back of the device. Apple replaces it with a brand new iPad Air but it doesn't come in a retail box (like the ones they sell at the stores). The replacement is in a brown box (if I remember correctly) with no markings. There's no charger/cable in the box. It's not a refurbished device. It's brand new.
