Replacement Screen Compatibility for HP G50-112NR Laptop

So my little son broke the laptop screen on my G50-112NR Laptop, and now I need a new one.
I have been told by HP that I need the 15.4-inch WXGA+ widescreen Bright View (BV) screen. eBay, as I have found, has this screen: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-LCD-15-4-INCH-WXGA-WIDESCREEN-Part-432298-001-/350473798785. Is this screen compatible - I mean, it's HP, 15.4-inch, WXGA, so it should work, yes?
I know this screen I found on eBay is a WXGA screen of a lower resolution than the original WXGA+ part, but the WXGA+ displays are also prohibitively expensive for me. They start at $130, which is probably more than half the worth of my laptop. I am not looking to upgrade to a newer HP laptop yet, but I probably will in a year and a half, so I don't want the screen to be such a money-sink for a PC I will retire so soon.
Thank you in advance for any replies.

  • T61 replacement screen compatibility?

I managed to break the screen on the laptop that I purchased less than 30 days ago.
I have looked on Ebay and found what I believe to be a reasonably priced replacement screen but I'm not sure if it is compatible with my T61-7658.
As I understand it some of these screens (such as my 7658) are "Widescreen" and some are not.
Can anyone look at this Ebay item and given me advice about compatibility?
Thanks a TON for any advice!

this is your spec, you have the standard 14.1 inch LCD with XGA resolution (non-widescreen model) according to the online spec, the screen you pointed is a widescreen model.
However, i think there is something wrong with the spec listed by Lenovo, since 4 cell battery listed is only available in the 14.1 inch widescreen. I will contact someone for you and see what is going on.
You can post a picture of the laptop?

  • Screen compatibility for Portege 4000

the screen on my portege 4000 has just gone.a new screen would be more than the thing is worth.there are plenty of old toshiba laptops on auction sites for spares, does any one have a list of compatible screens that will fit the portege lcd connectors?. laptop model, type etc.

I dont found many informations about the display in the Portg 4000 but in my knowledge its Toshiba VF2072P01 12 screen with the 1024x768 resolution

  • Maximum Screen Resolution for a Compaq 1200 Laptop?

I was just recently allowed to turn one of the laptops lying around into an Arch Linux laptop (title states model). It's working swell...it's just that I do not know what is the maximum resolution for it. 800x600 seems too small...
    If any of you need to see the xorg.conf for it, you are going to have to wait for a moment...^^;

the displayport can drive a 30 inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600) monitor in its native resolution using either the displayport or if you use an active displayport to dual link dvi converter.
If you don't run anything games or other graphic intensive programs, the X20x can drive the max resolution just fine.

  • Anyone know how much a replacement screen is for iPhone 5? one quote as much as my phone cost.

Does anyone know the price of and iPhone 5 screen replacement? one quote was as much as the phone itself

Apple does not sell iPhone screen replacements, or any other parts. Any OEM parts found may have been removed from another iPhone 5. So you are saying the quote was $649?

  • Will GeniusBar replace my HD for free if my laptop is under warranty?

Note: I'll bring in the replacement hard drive, old HD not broken, just want more space.

I would doubt that they would do it for free, even considering that it is under warranty, warranties only cover for damage, not adding parts to your computer. You could ask them though to do it at the store you would have to pay though. If you go to OWC's website they have tutorials on how to replace a HDs. I would call the store you are going to but I would not count on them replacing it for free.

Is there a place i can check screen compatibility for my Toshiba SP 6100?
I have damaged a screen on one of my laptop and would like to replace it.

    Hi
The problem is that Satellite Pro 6100 was delivered with four different displays.
    14.1' (1024x768) TFT colour display,
    15.1' (1024x768) TFT colour display,
    15.1' (1400x1050) TFT colour display,
    15.1' (1600x1200) TFT colour display
I have found a information that a P000334230 (LTN150X4-L01) screen is compatible with your unit.
    http://www.getpartsonline.com/p000334230.html
But I recommend asking the Toshiba service partner in you country for compatible screens.

Personally I would let well enough alone if that is the only flaw. Also it is best to replace the display panel with an exact duplicate. Usually the motherboard is different if you have the higher res screen and they are not compatible. In other words, your motherboard/video card is different than a laptop with the high res screen, probably. The cable will fit...LED is LED, but the screen will look funky if they are not compatible. So really this is not probably your opportunity to upgrade the screen. Here is your exact replacement on amazon.com at $66 which is a very good deal:
    http://www.amazon.com/HP-641629-001-Laptop-Screen-1600x900/dp/B005NBNTJU
Apparently they will not say whether you get glossy or matte, but at that price who cares?.
Here is the description of the panel with the full HD resolution:
17.3-in, AntiGlare, FHD, LED, display panel for use only with computer models equipped
    with an Intel processor

They do not give the price, you have to call. It might work but can't guarantee. Partsurfer is not giving a price for either part but based on past experience, somewhere over $200 is a good guess.

  • Good quality replacement screen for 15.6" E540 HD?

As much as I like everything else about my new E540, the screen door effect on the screen is a constant annoyance for me. So I guess my question is if anybody knows if there are any screens available for this model that are of better quality and don't have this screen door effect? And if so, what model numbers and manufacturers and such should I be looking for when getting a better screen?

Yes it is a WXGA (1366 x 768) 15.6 display per the specs here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c01646936
    The HP Part number is
    496770-001
This is probably the most common laptop screen in the supply channel right now and here is one on eBay for $95. Don't worry it says Gateway because the HP Part number is listed as compatible. The thing I always do is pull the screen before ordering the replacement and then you can search by the screen maker's part number, too. I would expect you can find this a bit cheaper, like as low as $65-70 in today's market.

HP is out of stock through Partsurfer.
The one thing that is confusing me is whether it is an LCD or LED connection. I googled the part number and see both types of screen depicted under that part number and the HP description does not help much. The older LCD type screens are more expensive. The issue is whether the connector is at the bottom left of the back of the screen or top right.
So it is very important that you remove the old screen first. If you want to post a picture here I can help you further

Am back in Australia  and the screen is cracked and needs replacing. The model numbers are different here and Toshiba Australia do not know the part number for a replacement screen on this model
Anyone got any ideas how to get this-  have had a global run around this morning!
    Jeff

    Hi buddy,
Normally the LCD is always the same part but if you want to make sure you get the correct LCD you should ask an authorized service provider in your country. The guys have access to Toshiba database and can search for exact part number and can order this screen for you.
You can find a list of ASPs here:

  • If my iphone 3g screen has smashed and my phone is out of warranty. will apple be able to replace the phone for me or repair the screen?

if my iphone 3g screen has smashed and my phone is out of warranty. will apple be able to replace the phone for me or repair the screen?
i heard apple can upgrade my phone if a pay a specific amount? is this correct?
also if my phone is out of warranty how much would it cost for it to be replaced?

Apple does not repair smashed phones.  It will replace the phone with another iPhone 3G as an out of warranty exchange for 199.00 USD.
You should check with your carrier to see if you are eligible for a subsidized iPhone 4.   It may cost you the same as the out of warranty replacement for a phone almost 3 generations old.
