Replacement screws for HP Envy j100

Hello. I seem to be missing two screws on the bottom panel of my HP Envy j100 notebook (purchased last year, October 2013). The screws that are missing are in the top left and top right corners (when looking at the keyboard from above). They are the screws that are next to each of the hinges and consequently, the plastic bottom of the laptop is loose. This is also causing the hinges to be loose and flimsy. They were not like this when I originally purchased the laptop. I would like to know where and how I can order some replacement screws for my Envy notebook.
Thank you!

  • Where can I buy replacement screws for my 2011 17" Macbook pro?

Does anyone know where I can purchase replacement screws for the bottom of my 2011 17" MBP? I am missing one at the bottom left. I saw one site but they only sell screws in bulk, and another that doesn't have them for the newer 2011 models. Any help would be appreciated! There is no apple store near me, I'm in eastern Canada.

    Hello redneksound,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand that you have a crack in your display on your HP ENVY 23-d034 TouchSmart All-in-One Desktop PC and would like to get it repaired before it gets any worse. I am providing you with a link to the HP Parts Store where you can order a new display for your computer. Normally, I would provide the part number for what you need to order, but as you can see below there are 3 different displays listed :
696330-001 LCD Panel - TPK CMI NZBD, Dominica
696330-002 LCD Panel - TPK LG NZBD, Dominica
696330-003 LCD Panel - TPK SAM NZBD, Dominica
I am not sure which you currently have so I will leave that up to the HP Parts Store personnel to determine.
I hope I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thank you for posting this question on the HP Forums. Have a wonderful day!

  • Replacement screws for hard drives

Anyone know where I can get replacement screws--the ones that secure internal hard drives to the sleds? OWC sells the sleds, but I just need the screws.
    Message was edited by: Jimtron

I don't know of any place specifically for MP parts other than Apple. OWC sells the sleds as you know, so you might ask if they have the screws available for separate sale. There surely are other vendors of the sleds you may find on Google who have the part. You could try Shreve Systems who used to vend parts for all Apple computers, but I don't know if they still do.

  • Where can I get replacement screws for the bottom of my MacBook Pro?

I have a late 2011 13 inch MacBook Pro. I recently upgraded it from the stock 500 gigabyte 5400 RPM hard drive to a 750 gigabyte 7200 RPM Seagate Momentus XT Solid State Hybrd drive. When I was putting the screws back in the bottom case  I lost one of the small screws. Now the bottom case of my MacBook is little loose due to the missing screw. Where can I get a replacement screw?

  • Identifying replacement screws for Sony laptop

I've got a Sony svF15215CXB laptop whose two longest screws (the big ones right beside the the screen hinges) have fallen out. The laptop still works fine, but is fairly loose. I've done some research but have not been able to find a manual that shows the type and position of screws on the laptop. There's a Sony manual on the website that has basic parts (e.g. hard drive, disk drive), but no screws, and there are replacement part vendors that provide lists of screws but no way to distinguish them (beyond part number). I've called Sony and they recommended I go to a Best Buy. Unfortunately, there's none in the area.  All this to say, how do you identify screws by their part number? In this case, I just need to find the longest from this list: A-1946-100-A Screw M2*3-i(bni)(nylok)iron YA-1958-292-A Q Special Appear M1.6x3(ni)(ny  A-1968-049-A Q Special Appear M2x1_7 Bzn Ny  A-1958-336-A Q Special Appear M2x3.5bni Nyl  A-1958-290-A Q Special Appear M2x5.5(ni)(ny  A-1958-291-A Q Special Appear M2x7(ni)(nyl)  A-1946-203-A Screw M2*2 I(bni-3c)iron  A-1946-214-A Screw M2*2-i(bni)iron  A-1948-361-A Screw M2*3i(bni)(nylok)iron  A-1946-094-A Screw M2*4 -I(ni-3c)nylok)iron  A-1946-097-A Screw M2*8-i(ni)(nylock)iron  A-1946-092-A Screw M3*3.5 I(ni-3c)iron Alternatively, is there an in-depth Sony manual that's provided to computer repair folks (e.g. Best Buy) that I could get my hands on? I have no problem with DIY repairs but just don't know where to start. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks much, - Micah

    Hi micahjm,
    Welcome to Sony Community!
I also have limited information about the your concern. Service manual is a condifential file of Sony. I tried to search using the tool the we usually use and here's I got:
    Hinges - Suffix-01
    Screws - A-1946-100-A
And it did match the first part number on your list. Unfortunately, I cannot provide any service manual for your unit, as I've mentioned that I have limited info especially for service manual.
    Hope this help.
    Best regards,
    Vincent

  • Can I buy replacement screws for the underside of my mac laptop

I bought a refurbished macbook last year, but recently the little screws that hold the underside onto the body of the computer have come out and I lose them. How can I buy replacements? These don't seem like things that are at the genius bar at my apple store, but maybe they are, I don't know. I'd prefer to just order them and install them myself, but I can't find them listed anywhere.

You can buy your own screws, this would likely save a lengthly wait at the Apple Store.
    http://www.welovemacs.com/9227309.html
There is stuff at your hardware store called LockTight, whcih is basically a blue light glue you brush a small bit on the threads (a small bit) just before screwing them in and it keeps them from falling out.
But they are not  glued in so tight you can't remove them

  • Replacment Screws For Macbook

well after a good solid couple months of using my macbook, the superdrive croaked and being a DIY guy i decided to open my macbook and take a look (nearest apple store is way too far). i tried to "clean" the superdrive and put it back in place. Unfortunately, i somehow misplaced the screws that i took out needed to screw back in for the outside of the mac. (8 of them) After much searching, nothing. So i was wondering does anyone know what kind of screw are used for the macbook on the outside, and where i can buy them? Thanks in advance for any tips and help!

Call your nearest Apple retail store and authorized service provider to see if they have any on hand. Otherwise, you can try http://www.ifixit.com or http://www.powerbookmedic.com/

Does anyone know where I can find replacement screws for my whitebook's harddrive mount? My son bumped against it while I was replacing the drive and the screws fell. Oops! I've looked around online, but can only find case screws, not harddrive mount replacements.

  • I'm looking for screws for the bottom of my macbook pro unibody.

I need screws for the bottom of my macbook pro unibody. They started falling out after I upgraded my RAM, apparently they had some type of threadlock on them. Apple was of little help and directed me to a an apple store or service center which is not convienent. So far, I've been only able to find the 'old' pack of 5 screws, not the pack of 10 that my mac requires. I did find one seller on ebay advertising them but would like to avoid that path if possible. Any help in this matter will be greatly appreaciated. Thanks

No this is not a common problem.  Have you had the bottom off before?
The factory set screws you see a bit if blue lock tight which makes it more difficult the first time out.
They can replace the screws over the counter at any authorized repair service or Genius bar:

  • Drive screws for SATA in G5

This is silly I know. But where on earth does one buy replacement hard drive screws for a powermac G5? I've not been able to find any vendors.

Hi, and a Warm Welcome to the Power Mac G5 Forum!
There are spare hard drive screws, if you haven't used them, in the G5 just to the left of the drive bays as shown in Fig 8 here
    http://www.info.apple.com/usen/cip/pdf/g5/073-0851.pdf
If you need more, they are available here
    http://www.welovemacs.com/9226253.html
May be cheaper elsewhere, or from your local AppleStore, etc. if you quote the part number.

  • Missing bottom screw for iphone 4

The left screw beside the dock charger on my iphone 4 is missing. Where can I get a screw for my iphone? Or can i ask from apple store since my iphone is still under the 1 year warranty. I bought my phone thru hong kong online store last June 2011. Will something happen to my iphone since one of the screws is missing?

Your posted question reads as a part of an adult-related joke.  If you simply want another threaded fastener (I'm going to great lengths not to use the word "screw"), speak with a Genius at an Apple store, and (s)he might find an extra.  If the head (dang!) - I mean the top - of the screw is damaged, and the iPhone still works, leave it alone.  Here's the bad news...a damaged screw is a clear indication that you've opened the iPhone and, if the iPhone fails, Apple won't replace it (as an out-of-warranty exchange).

  • Missing guide screws for installing a second drive in my G5

Hi, I just purchased a G5 and went to install a second drive and found only one guide screw in the unit. Has anyone found an inexpensive place to purchase replacement guide screws? I guess I could always use normal screws with some sort of electrical tape on them but I would prefer to get the proper ones.
    Thanks.

Did you really purchase a G5 or did you purchase a Mac Pro? The computer in your signature is a Mac Pro, but perhaps you haven't updated your signature for your new purchase. Mac Pro has two optical drive slots whereas the G5 has one.
Anyway, the official hard drive screws for the G5 are here. Notice that they are incredibly expensive. Some have had luck with the drive mounting screws that usually come with a new drive.
