Replacing 4G phone
In the event that I have some catastrophic problem and Apple decides to swap phones, I'm assuming I'd have to pony up $100 to get an 8G phone since a 4G would most likely not be available. Does anyone know the official Apple policy? Would they be less likely to swap out and insist on repair since it's a 4G phone?

Apple often keeps service replacements for a while after a model is discontinued, and if the iPhone has to be replaced under warranty or AppleCare, will replace non-functioning parts with parts that are equivalent or better, or provide a refund at Apple's option. So in the unlikely situation 4GB parts or service replacements are not available, it would either be refunded for the purchase price, or another model would be substituted that was better, at Apple's option.

Last weekend I went to the Apple store to replace my phone because the WiFi on my phone is nonfunctional. I need to back up to iCloud before I can replace my phone because I have information on there that needs to be saved. The worker at the Apple store said that, since I cannot connect to WiFi, I needed to plug my phone into my computer in order to back up. Unfortunately, you can't restore an iCloud backup without using wifi so that isn't an option. -
My iPhone 5 dies at 20-24% it doesn't go all the way to 0%. Will apple replace my phone or fix my phone for free since its hardware problem and I have no money. This is my second iphone 5 replacement. I have no apple care so I'm worried. My phone has NEVER touched water! I only get 1/5 of battery use. Also my screen lighting is all topsy-tervy every I put my screen on highest it won't work I have to wait about a minute? Forgot to mention that my apps exit out by themselves all the time when Im using them.
So, have you tried a reset? Restore from backup? Restore as new? You seem to have a few problems but do not mention any action taken to resolve them. What have screen protectors to do with anything?

I have dropped my phone into a sink full of water. Right away, I grabbed the phone and did my best to dry it off. Once dried, my speakers seem to have given up and only a faint noise would occur when a call or text would appear. Lastly, my phone had a hard time gaining any service. All it would say at the top was "Searching..." and will not change. I seem to have given up when a thought ran through my head about turning off the phone and placing it in a bag full of rice. This is where my phone will be sitting for the next 48 hours (as suggested by friends and the lovely Youtube).
If I have to replace my phone, how much would I be paying? If it needs repair and can survive, would the cost be?
Thank you!They can replace very few parts in it, such as the battery or the sleep/wake button, but for water damage, several components are likely damaged.

My iphone 4s will not switch on. Supposidly it has been "charging" all day and stll it does not have enough life to switch on. Rang Apple this morning and they will replace the phone under warrenty free of charge. Only problem is with this being my first Apple product i didnt realise my phone did not automatically back up on itunes or icloud as i had to set this up.
Now i am trying desperately to get my phone to switch on so that i can save all of the baby pictures of my 7 month old son and its not working. i have tried to reset the phone but it does nothing!!
Can anyone PLEASE help as i am very upset and do not want to lose these precious memories?You cannot get Applecare plus now.
It is unlikely that they will replace as it is damaged. The only way to find out is to make an appointment at the genius and and see what they say. -
My iphone 4 doesn´t connect through Wi-Fi, Apple replaced my phone for a new one, but the new one has the same problem. I have an ipod third generation and it doesn´t have this problem. Having compared both working at the same time, the iphone alsways lags behind or doesn´t even connect to the internet via Wi-Fi. Does any one know what to do?? Thanks
Have you ever checked to see if there is an update for your router? If yes, then power off router. Then on iPhone go into settings and do a reset network settings. Power router back on, and try connecting phone to router.

Will Apple replace my phone if it broke due to an update?
I've had my iPhone 5 since September, so about 6 months now. Last week, I was backing up my phone like I do every so often, and I was asked if I wanted to update my phone to the newer, updated version of iOS 7. (I believe it was iOS 7.0.6) Anyway, a couple days later, I noticed that my phone started shutting off randomly. It started happening more and more, and sometimes it wouldn't even turn back on and I would have to do a "hard restart" (holding lock and home button). The only time it didn't happen was when my phone was plugged in, charging. I looked online a bit and similar things have happened to people who have dealt with battery failure or power depletion (?). I saw that restoring it could help, but I did and nothing changed. Just yesterday, now the fourth day that this has been going on, it shut off and has not turned on since then; when plugged in it will occasionally appear with the white screen with the apple logo, like it does when it's being turned on, or if I press the home button it comes up with the red battery indicator, like it does when the battery is dead (there is no way that the battery is dead). Anyway, I contacted Apple support online yesterday, as I'm a college student living on campus, without a car, and they told me to try to restore it again, because that should fix it, but iTunes couldn't even register that it was connected because it wouldn't turn on. The person I talked with suggested I take my phone to an Apple store. Luckily, spring break starts in a couple of days so I will be able to drive the hour to the closest store to me so they can take a look at it.
I'm just really curious if anyone else has had a similar problem, and/or if anyone knows if Apple will replace my phone for me? The screen is cracked, but it's been like that for probably 2-3 months now and I really don't think that has anything to do with it. I talked to someone last night on the chat again, and they told me that a cracked screen does indeed void my warranty. Although, I am 99.999999% positive that the update is what caused the problem, as I said before, the screen has been cracked for nearly 3 months now with no problem. The people I spoke with told me there is some things they can try to do in store, and if those don't work, depending what the problem is they can send it out for repair or replace it. Problem is, I don't have the warranty anymore so it's $269 for a replacement, and I'm assuming the repair price is based on what needs to be repaired. Luckily in your case, as long as there's no cosmetic damages, your warranty is most likely not voided, and they can replace/repair it for no charge.

I have a water damaged iphone 5c. I was thinking about taking it to the Apple store and paying the 269 dollar service charge for them to attempt to fix it. My question is: If they can't fix it, will they replace my phone for that $269 dollars, or will I have to pay full retail price for a new phone?

I have recently got a new iphone 5 and I dropped it on to the rug on top of wooden flooring and the screen is now cracked. I have made an appointment at my nearest apple store but i still have to travel quite a bit. Will apple replace this phone or send mine away? I don't want to travel for nothing.
If you are in the US ,some Apple genius bars are replacing screens at this time if your local store isn't offering that service or you are not in the US there will be an out of warranty exchange unit for $229
make sure you back up everything as if you exchange your iPhone will go and the Genius bar do not provide a backup service -

Since i got the new Iphone 4s it constantly drops calls. Apple have replaced the phone with another new iphone 4s but i am still having the same problem. I have checked with vodapohe that there is no issue from there end, given a new sim, still drops out

The iPhone warranty is not international and as you purchased in
Malaysia the warranty is only valid in Malaysia
You could try taking to an iPhone Authorised service provider
in India but there have been many similar posts to yours

I have an Iphone 5 on contract with T-mobile/EE. The lock button on my Phone 5 has stopped working completely. It just will not work anymore so I have to rely on the auto-lock .
