Replacing a cracked ipad 2 screen with the ipad 3 screen

I have an ipad 2 in for screen replacement. I have a couple ipad 3 screens on hand. Are there any differences in the two screen sizes, to where the ipad 3 screen will not fit the ipad 2? The screen specs look the same for both of them.
Thanks

Thanks. Although the retina display most likely is in the LCD which is a seperate part. The outer glass is the digitizer, which merely gives you the touch function. I wouldn't think the digitizer has any effect on the retina display.
I'm curious if the glass (digitizer) is the same size on both the ipad 2 and ipad 3. Guess I can lay the ipad 3 screen on the ipad 2 and see if there is any difference in the size.
Thanks,
Wade

    No, you cannot.  And even if you had an iPhone 5c screen to use to try to replace the other iPhone 5c's screen, you shouldn't do that, since it permanently voids your Apple warranty.

    Apple does not replace iPhone 4 or 4S screens
    Since the iPhone is not user serviceable then you will not get guidance on an Apple Hosted forum

  • I recently got a new iPad and when synching it to my laptop I accidently clicked to replace all of my new information with the old. I had iCloud on the new one and there were many notes saved in it. How can I get them back?

    Everthing was replaced including the information under iCloud under settings. My iPad now states that I do not have my iCloud account set up on my iPad as on the old one I did not.

    Go to Settings>iCloud and set up the iCloud account you were using before by singing in with the same Apple ID.  Then turn the data you were syncing with your iCloud account back to On, and if prompted, choose merge.

  • How to stop iPhone 4 contacts being automatically replaced by an iPhone 6 contacts with the same Apple ID logged in?

    So my phone got damaged and I sent it for repair. This is not the issue.
    Meanwhile, I'm using my Dad's previous iPhone 4. I placed the SIM card in and used a carrier app to transfer all my contacts. After my contacts replaced the one on my Dad's previous phone, he informed me that the contacts on his current phone iPhone 6+ had changed to mine to and he had lost all of his contacts.
    Unfortunately he has yet to back up his new iPhone 6+ but I did managed to find a backup of the iPhone 4 stored on my computer.
    Here comes the problem: I restored the back up from my computer on the iPhone 4. All the contacts were back. However, whenever the iPhone 4 has wifi on, the contacts will automatically get replaced by my contacts again? I have tried toggling iCloud here and there but nothing seems to be working.
    Anyone knows the problem here?

    Okay, as I'm not very clear how iCloud works, I'll try my best to explain what I tried to do.
    Firstly, what I'm trying to do is to get the contacts restored on the iPhone 4. Once I've got them back, afraid that they might get replaced, I put the phone on airplane mode and turned off iCloud Backup. The iCloud 6 on the iPhone 6 is turned on and is connected to wifi. By turning the iCloud back on with the iPhone 4, I assumed that the replaced contacts on the iPhone 4 would overwrite the ones on the iPhone 6 but it seems to be happening the other way round.
    Objective: Trying to get the restored contacts on the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 6.

  • How can I replace my Mac and iCloud contacts with the ones in my iPhone?

    I have a new iPhone (iOS 6) and have edited, added, linked and deleted some of my contacts. How can I have THAT list replace all of the other contact lists in the rest of my devices?

    If you are using iCloud on iPhone and Mac, that must be already done. If not, you have to setup iCloud on both devices with the same Apple ID.
    Before you try anything, download an app like "Contacts kit" or "My Contacts Backup" to your iPhone and make a backup of your list and send it via email to yourself.

  • How can I replace all music on my iPod with the music in my iTunes Library?

    My iPod Touch (5th Generation) contains all the music that I purchased on iTunes with my previous iPod. I managed to transfer all music, including those from CDs, from my old iPod onto iTunes (newest version), so I figured that I would sync my iPod to retrieve them. However, every time I sync my iPod with my music library, I get duplicates of the purchases that my iPod contains, but not of those from CDs. When I go onto the "Music" section in my iPod, no items are shown. I have all the music that I want sorted out in my iTunes Library, so I want to replace only the music on my iPod with the music in the Library. How do I do this, or at least delete the music on my iPod (but not iTunes) so I can sync the entire music library later?

    Correction: The music on my iPod doesn't show up in the "Music" section in "iPod" in iTunes.

  • Replacing InetAddress.java of 1.3 with the 1.4 version

    I'm having difficulty with the inetAddressCachePolicy of 1.3... it doesn't work no matter how I try to run it with different options... but it works with the 1.4.1_01 version... Unfortunatly if I run my app with 1.4.1._01 the socket-layer works fine but the rest of GUI start giving me problems... so I thought the best is to look at the InetAddress.java file from both version and probobly either make the necessary changes on the 1.3 or replace it entirly with the 1.4 version... I have to see which one works... but I'm not quite sure the steps involve in making changes and I like to confirm it with you.. I think I should do the following
    1. unzip src.jar from 1.3.1_07
    2. make the changes
    3. create the src.jar file with the new InetAddress.java
    4. run my app...
    is that correct?? is there any other way??
    would very much appreciate your help

    can you help me how to fix the GUI? I mean where to look?
    I have an application that basically receives data and fill out a set of text fields... if I run my application using J2SDK 1.3.1.03 the text fields on the interface gets filled out but if I run the same app it under j2SDK 1.4.1.01 the text fileds won't get filled out from the arrived data... I've traced the program... it doesn't give any error but no text gets displayed on the fields...
    here is what I'm doing at the begining of the application
    FullNameTextField.setEditable(false);
    then as the messgae arrives the function called and do the following
    FullNameTextField.setText(tktInfoHolder.getDLHolderFullName());
    I have checked the content of tktInfoHolder.getDLHolderFullName()and the data is there... I also tried
    FullNameTextField.setText("blah blah blah");
    and yet nothing displayed....
    here is the list of classes I'm using
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import java.awt.Toolkit;
    import java.util.ArrayList;
    import java.awt.event.WindowListener;
    import java.awt.event.WindowEvent;
    The same same functionality works fine under 1.3 but not 1.4... I need to use 1.4 cuz of some socket communication issue on 1.3...
    when I run my app it starts with the following
    C:\Program Files\Java\j2sdk1.4.1_01\bin\javaw.exe -hotspot -classpath...
    could it be that there is something wrong with the path.... or the VM
    Please Please Please help me... I can't think of anything...

  • How do i replace my macbook's iCal data with the data from my iPad?

    hi,
    recently i decided to try iCloud and well, i didn't quite like the duplicates~
    so i've decided to opt out, but i accidentally selected "keep all data" when i turned it off~
    now i'm stuck with duplicates after i've sync-ed my iphone to my macbook~
    i would very much like to replace all the ical data on my macbook with my ipad (it's my only set of "original" data)~
    i do know there's an option to "replace all data on my ipad with my macbook" but how about vice versa?
    any suggestions?
    ~K

    Greetings Kyrie,
    iCloud does not inherently cause duplication of calendars.  Once you have a good set of data following these steps you may want to consider trying iCloud again after first flushing all the bad data out of the cloud (meaning deleting all the calendars from icloud.com).  But first things first:
    If the iOS device is the only place where the data exists, proceed with caution.
    Backup your iOS device: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
    Create a new admin user account on your computer: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.7/en/mtusr001.html
    Go to Apple > Log Out
    Login to the new account
    Sync the iOS device in the new user and merge all data (not replace)
    Launch iCal in the new user -- If the calendar database on the iOS device is intact you should see all the calendars here in iCal.
    Highlight each calendar on the left hand side one at a time and then go to File > Export > Export and save the resulting file to desktop. Repeat this process until you have exported all the calendars you want saved to the desktop.
    Quit iCal
    Put the .ics files you created on the desktop into Macintosh HD > Users > Shared (You can get there by going to "Go" > "Computer" at the top of the computer screen.)
    Go to Apple > Log Out
    Login as the main user account
    Go to Macintosh HD > Users > Shared and drag the ics files to the desktop of your user account.
    Open iCal and add one new empty calendar by going to File > New Calendar > On My Mac.
    Delete all the other calendars that have the bad data in them.
    One at a time, double-click the ics files on your desktop and choose "New Calendar" from the resulting drop down menu. (This will create a new fresh calendar in iCal and import the contents of the ics file into that calendar.)
    Hope that helps!

  • Cost of replacing a cracked macbook pro screen?

    I sadly knocked my lappy on to a audio sampler and the whole screen wigged out like I'd sat on it or something. Lots of coloured lines and cracks in the middle...
    So, how much am I looking at to replace this including labour? I know it's very pricey but what choice do I have.. From what I can see everything works fine elsewise.
    Cheers,
    Jonny

  • How much will it cost to replace a cracked iphone 5 screen at an apple store?

    i just cracked my screen just yesterday and i need get it fixed asap

    Apple does not repair iPhones, but will replace the entire iPhone for a flat fee. If you have AppleCare+ coverage, the cost will low; in the US it's $49. If you do not have AppleCare+ on your iPhone, see the Service Pricing section here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/service/faq/
    There are independent iPhone repair services that may be able to do the repair for less than Apple's out-of-warranty charge. Do a web search for "iPhone repair". Note, though, that if you elect to have the iPhone serviced by an unauthorized shop, all further warranty and support from Apple will be voided.
    Regards.
    Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Communities page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums and in the Apple Knowledge Base, before you post a question.
    Regards.

  • Parallels replacing Bootcamp. What to do with the partition?

    I am getting rid of my Bootcamp partition to be replaced by Parallels. How might I do this? I hope I don't need to reinstall Snow Leopard etc. Is there a simple solution to just have no partition on the machine?
    Thanks,
    Tyler

    Three ways to do it and they are all covered in Parallels documentation - none of them involve reinstalling Mac OS.
    1. Delete BC using BC Assistant but this means reinstalling Windows when you set up Parallels which you probably don't want to do.
    2. Set up Parallels using existing BC partition as a data disk. I did not try this as there are some Parallels features which cannot be used. Also it seemed to me that it was expensive in terms of HD space.
    3. Set up Parallels using the option to convert the BC partition to a Parallels one. Once you are sure it is working you can delete the BC partition which recovers a large amount of HD as Parallels has a very small footprint. The problem with this option is that Parallels first makes a copy of your BC partition before starting the setup process and you may not have enough disk space - if you do, it does free up a lot of space.
    Hope this helps.
