Replacing a keyboard for my 15-n214es

G. afternoon,
I was trying to replace my keyboard to use one with arabic characters. The point is that I was unable to find any tutorial to replace the built-in keyboard. I have already removed the screw in the back with the keyboard icon, but i am unable to remove the keyboard from the frontside as in other HP systems. Should I remove each and every screw in th back to remove the whole skeleton in the machine?
I am a bit lost and the inline manuals in hp.com http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03844127.pdf are not helpful to solve this issue.
Thanks in advance.

Is that the Service manual matching your P/N? If not then you need to use your P/N at HP driver site and lookup your correct Service manual.

I have searched high and low for a replacement Russian Keyboard for my US bought MBP. Anyone have any ideas. Apple US is no help. Apple Russia won't sell it to me.

    Hi CKLB,
    Welcome to the forum.
These guys appear to specialise in International keyboards. Worth a call to see if they have the Russian flavour:

  • Trying to replace the Keyboard for HP Pavilion DV7-3180us. Need part number & compatible parts.

I have a HP Pavilion DV7-3180us laptop.  I have to replace the Keyboard because I have about 7 missing keys.  I have been looking for a good replacement but I want to ensure that I am getting the lowest price and the correct part.   I don't have a lot to spend on it but it looks cheaper or about the same price, to buy the whole keyboard rather than the seperate keys.  Is this keyboard compatible with other keyboards?  This would give me more options to find one in stock and a reasonable price.  Also, need a new AC Adapter charger.  I have seen it listed with 3 different watts 65w, 90w, & 120w.  Is this accurate?  I find the parts listed under my computer manufacturer number but I am skeptical that it is correct.  I have seen some reviews where people say that the keyboard replacement listed for DV7-3180us did not fit.  Anyone with any help to make this easier I would very much appreciate.  Thanks.

    Hi:
My advice is to read chapter 3 of the dv7 service manual below, and cross reference the part numbers or only buy the parts you need with the HP part numbers.

  • HT2452 just got a replacement wireless keyboard for imac but comp doesn't recognize it and won't connect. can't type or use it. any suggestions?

Just got a relpacement wireless keyboard for my imac but the computer won't recognize it and b/c i can't use the keyboard (type) there's little troubleshooting i can do. how do i reconnect this? thanks!

You may need a wired keyboard to carry out some of these steps. It's a good idea to keep a cheap wired keyboard and mouse or trackball as backups for a desktop Mac anyway, because Bluetooth isn't completely reliable.
    Step 1
Follow the instructions in these support articles:
How to set up your Apple Wireless Keyboard
Apple Wireless Keyboard: Difficulty during pairing process
    Step 2
The keyboard should pair automatically when you reboot. You may have to press and hold the power button on the right side of an Apple keyboard until the LED starts flashing.
    Step 3
    Reset the System Management Controller.
    Step 4
    Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Reboot.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combinationcommand-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 5
    See these support articles:
Bluetooth keyboard may not pair during Setup Assistant
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Potential sources of wireless interference
Bluetooth: Unreliable wireless performance may occur when USB 3.0 external devices are close
    Step 6
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.

  • Replacing a keyboard for older mac

It appears that part of my Mac keyboard fried, as the space bar no longer works, and I assume this isn't fixable since rebooting didn't help.  (Fortunately I'm typing this at work!)  I want the extended USB keyboard with the numeric keypad on the right side.  Looked in the Apple store, and danged if they don't have only a keyboard that requires OS 10.6 or later!  How can I get a new USB extended keyboard that works with my PPC (pre-Intel) that runs on OS 10.4.11?

I went by Best Buy today, and their Apple specialist looked up the model number online.  Reviews going back to 2010 showed it working for people then, and he felt it probably would work for my Mac even though it SAYS minimum requirements are 10.6 and up.  He says it hasn't changed and suspected that Apple just wants people to upgrade their system software and keep current.  Perhaps the later software has some extra functions on this keyboard that won't work in 10.4.  However, he strongly suspected that the keyboard WOULD would with my system anyway, since an Apple keyboard is an Apple keyboard.  So, I bought the thing, hooked it up, and here it is, working.  I'll have to get used to it, since I really preferred the more ergonomic curved and higher keyboard like the older one.  If I can ever find the allen microwrench I'll need to open up the old keyboard, I'll give cleaning a try.
Thanks to all of you for your suggestions and advice.  This online community is quite helpful.

    Hi,
The guy in this video does it in the first two minutes then he continues to disassemble his G60 notebook . It would be wise to remove the battery first. It can be done with shoes on.

    Hi there @vishnupraneethr
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
In answer to your request, I am attaching the HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide. Within you can find the procedure for replacing the keyboard correctly, as well as as the part numbers for the supported, compatible keyboards. Check on page 59 of the manual for the list of replacement keyboards, and the replacement procedure.
Unfortunately, from the list, it does not appear that any of the options are backlit.
    I hope this helps.

  • I need a replacement keyboard for a Lenovo 3000 C200 Model# 8922-2FU

My wife dumped a glass of water on her laptop and I am having a really hard time finding a replacement keyboard.
Why do wives love to break the machines?
    Thanks

IBM indicates your part numbers could be this: 39T7353 or this: 39T7417 if you have a laptop designed for English in the USA.
Try these people: http://www.acsparts.com/contact_us.asp   Do check your machine first (remove the keyboard & look at its exact part number).  They can order things they don't have in stock from the warehouse.  I bought a replacement keyboard for my 3000 N200 from them a few months ago, it was an exact replacement.

  • Replace keyboard for Macbook Pro

    Hi,
I need a new keyboard for my Macbook Pro 15" with back lighting. It works fine, but I dropped my cigarette and it burned the "esc" key. Again the esc key works, but I have to push it hard, so I think I think that I need to replace the keyboard.
Is this something that can be fixed if I go to the Apple Store, or if not what are my options?
    Thanks,
    Johnny

    Hi my ginger,
    I found a keyboard on E-Bay:
    http://www.ebay.com/cln/barrjohnm/MacBook-Pro-Keyboard/173449982019
This looks like it will fix my problem. Do you know if this is the right one? here is a image of my system - https://www.dropbox.com/s/if0xnx0u3suruj9/Screen%20Shot%202015-02-05%20at%204.26 .03%20PM.png?dl=0
Well Hopefully I can get somebody at the Apple store to replace it.
    Thanks!

  • How do you install a replacement keyboard for the laptop????

I can't find any instructions for installing a replacement keyboard for my PowerBook G4 1.33 Ghz. The instructions on the Apple website are for the 1 Ghz model and there is this slot thingy to the left of the NUM LOCK key. There is no such slot on mine so I have no clue how to install. And the replacement keyboard didn't come with instructions either. It seems that the entire case is one piece and the keyboard is embedded within. I tried pulling it up but I don't want to break it.
HELP. I have no key cap for L or F7 and C is on it's way out and I'm on deadline. Of course, it's Saturday as well.

  • Odd question about a replacement keyboard for HP pavilion G71326DX

I have a G7 1326DX that needs a replacement keyboard. However A frind of mine recently purchased a G72233cl and I noticed that the keyboards were basically the same, however his had a design that I like much better (Key types). My question is, Can I purchase a Replacement keyboard for the G72233cl and install that keyboard into my G71326DX. I have looked into the connection interface, as well as lined up the notches around the edges of the keyboard with pictures of the replacement keyboards, However I want to make sure it will work correctly before I make my Purchase. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
    Marvin Parnell

    Hello MPnarnell,
The keyboard on your G7-1326dx needs to be replaced, but you want to use a keyboard for a G7-2233cl, is that correct? I will try to help you .
Comparing the keyboard section of the manuals the part number for the keyboard you want to you use doesn’t show in the G7-1326dx list of compatible keyboards. The reason being probably is because it has never been fully tested.
Now both computers are G7’s but they are 2 totally different series of G7’s so the motherboards are probably different as well. This is one of those issues where you would have to  test it out and see, I don’t believe it will work but I could be wrong. Here is the part number for the keyboard that came on the G7-2233cl. (699146-001)
If you decided to go ahead and try to change it be sure to check for a BIOS update before doing so.
Please respond back at your earliest convenience.
    Thanks

  • Does anyone know where I can get a replacement keyboard for my imac G5 power PC purchased in December 2005

Does anyone know where in the UK or Ireland I can get a replacement keyboard for my imac G5 power PC purchased in December 2005. Running Mac OSX 10.4.1.1?

Not sure where in Ireland to look, but be aware that SOME Apple Aluminum boards will work with 10.4.11. The first Al boards and those through the first few months of 2011 were compatible with any Mac running OS 10.4.11 and having USB ports. Then they changed them to require 10.6.8 for full function.
The ones compatible with 10.4.11 (MB110LL/A) have the icon for Dashboard on the F4 key; the later ones (MB110LL/B) have an icon consisting of six tiny rectangles grouped to form a larger rectangle. The keyboard boxes are nearly identical except for:
the system requirements printed on the front panel
the back panel on the first model reads "Keyboard" where the newer model reads "Keyboard with Numeric Keypad."
When looking for older parts, always consider a Mac User Group:

  • Replacement keyboard for model 2000-104CA??

    Hello all,
I need to replace the keyboard on:
    The model is: 2000-104CA
    Product: LV987UA#ABC
    Rev. : 3577-100
#1. Can someone please tell me what the keyboard part # is?
#2. I tried removing the keyboard (after the fact) and the video instructions, located here: http://h20574.www2.hp.com/results.htm?SID=5059088&MEID=FAA31BDC-56B6-472D-BA7B-4295B0216628 seem incorrect.
The instructions state to remove 1 5mm P1 screw, then press down with a probe tool in the hole indicated. All I ended up doing with pushing out the "insert" key. I can slightly lift that top side of the keyboard but there is definitely something locking down the keyboard around speaker mute/speaker + function keys.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thank you

  • Replacement keyboard for iBook G4 (M9419LL/A) 1.2GHz, 14"

I've seen three different P/Ns listed for iBook keyboards:
    922-6637 (Late 2004)
    922-6189 (Early 2004)
922-6913 (where does this one work)
I'm having difficulty locating any 922-6189 keyboards.
    Does P/N 922-6913 support my (early 2004, M9419LL/A) G4, 1.2GHz, 14" iBook?
    Thanks!

Hi and welcome, I looked at some of the more popular repair and part houses and it appears that all three are reconized as replacements for the iBook G4 early 2004 model. It might be just a slight color or transparency thing. You could do some more searching by just google-ing 922-6189.
