Replacing a Publisher hardware on CUCM 6.1.4

I've been told, if I replace our current Pub with new hardware, I will have to rebuild both subscribers. Is this correct?
We have currently one Publisher and two subscribers.
I have built a new Publisher on new hardware with the same CUCM version, migrated licenses and MAC and restored the backup database. When I tested the new Pub live, I came across database replication issues, the Pub couldn't see the two Subs or viceversa.
Is there any workaround or a fix, to replace the Pub without having to rebuild the subscribers.
Let me know if you have any info,
Thanks,
Zeek

Hi Zeek,
Sadly, the ability to replace the Publisher Node without
reinstalling the Subscriber Nodes was not introduced until
CUCM 7.1(2) or 7.1(3) Here is the related info for your
version;
Replacing the Publisher Node
Complete the following tasks to replace the Cisco Unified Communications Manager publisher server. If you are replacing a single server that is not part of a cluster, follow this procedure to replace your server.
Caution If you are replacing a publisher node in a cluster, you must also reinstall all the subscriber nodes and dedicated TFTP servers in the cluster, after replacing the publisher node.

  • How do I remove old web site when publishing new site with same URL in iweb? Hit replace when publishing new iweb site (so we could have control over changes) but new site name is attached to old via a / after our www address we want to keep.

I hit the replace when publishing the new iweb site (so we could have control over changes - last one was not an apple based site) but new site name is attached to old via a forward slash and underscore after our www address. Makes it very messy with a very long web address.  Original address now followed by iweb site name followed by name of first page? Went for iweb as not that computer literate - all going so well?! Cheers for help in anticipation. Have to get off to work now but be great end to week if we could be sorted tonight. Rupes

Well yes of course, if you try and publish through iWeb there won't be an option to publish without your site folder which is exactly why I told you to download Cyberduck and use Cyberduck to upload your site to your server having published your site from iWeb to a local folder.  That is what you need to do if you don't want your site name to be included in yoru url.
It would have been easier also if you had used Cyberduck initially to connect to your server and delete your old site yourself - at least that way you would have deleted the correct files rather than relying on your hosting service to do it and doing it incorrectly.
Download Cyberduck and then select the publish to a local folder option from iWeb and then use Cyberduck to upload your site to your server, but rather than uploading the whole site folder and separate index file, upload ONLY the contents of your site folder and then your url will be http://www.domain.com/page_name.html.
    It really isn't rocket science!

  • Publisher hardware failure, can the sub take over for the pub?

    CM 5.1.1.3124-1
Publisher exprienced a hardware failure due to a power interruption. Can the Subscriber take the Publisher role? Currently unable to send or receive outside calls only local calling is working. I am trying to get calling to work while we wait for the replacement hardware.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

OK, I have made the change to the redundant server, but outside calls are still not going through. The Sub took the place of the primary CM. Are there services on the Sub that need to be started for it to act as a Pub?

  • Can I replace a published muse site with one I have been working on?

I have published a muse site as a holding page on a webasics plan, and while that has been live I have started a new muse file an built a website which I intended
to replace the holding page with.
I am having trouble figuring out how to replace a already published site with a new muse file?
    Hope that makes sense!
    Thanks heaps

    Hello,
You simply need to select the same site from the list of sites in the dropdown, while publishing it from Muse. This will replace the existing site with the one you have built in Muse now.
    Hope this helps.

Happy new owner of the MacBook. Having produced a lot of stuff on my PC with Office 2003 Publisher - What program to choose for my Mac? I love the iWeb features and I have thought of buying the iWork set. Can anyone confirm if the iWork is compatible with stuff written in Publisher?

  • What has best replaced Picture Publisher ?

Help! For many years one of my favorite programs has been Micrografx Picture Publisher (that an Xara Xtreme.)
I have been able to continue using Picture Publisher until recently but Windows 7 will not accept.  It was excellent for scanning in cartoons and adding colour.  Sometimes old programs did certain things very well.  What Adobe product has incorporated its features ?  I like Photoshop for pictures, but it doesn't handle or colour cartoons well. Not sure in  what forum this questions is best raised. Anyone help ?  Thanks, Neil

It seems that either no one is particularly interested or no one knows the answer.  Perhaps you are right that I've answered my own questions.
I like to draw cartoons.  I scan them into the computer and colour them there.  It worked extremely well in Picture Publisher.  I could also select, invert and copy and then place cartoon characters into photgraphs (havin eliminated the white square).  I can do none of these things as well as I could with Picture Publisher.  Strange that when you get used to doing something in a particular program, you miss it when it's gone.
I have Photoshp, Corel Draw, Corel Paint and Xara and they all do many things well, but I can't handle colourr with them as well as I could in Picture Publisher.
    Thanks for your interest.

  • Getting Verizon to replace router with Hardware Verizon D

I  can not set up WPA encryption because I have hardware version A router and not D.  I just got this router last week when my original router was fried in a storm.
Has anyone had luck getting Verizon to swap an A for a D?
    Thanks

Did your original rotuer support WPA? If so, I would call and say the rotuer they sent doesn't support the same things as your previous.

  • Replacing obsolete Sun hardware, which parts?

I'm looking to upgrade my organization's systems and want to find out what would be current de facto specifications to replace the equipment below. I'm looking for a spec sheet, part number, etc. Thank you!

Firstly have you given your 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks different names as this is a common cause of problems.  Secondly don't use wifi extenders as they cut your wireless bandidth in half.  I would recommend getting a couple of wireless routers and connect them to your HH5 with either powerline adapters or CAT5e cable if possible.  I have three HH5 routers - one in each corner of the house wih each one on a different frequency and different wifi name so you know which one your device is connected to.  With this solution I get excellent coverage throughout my house.

  • 8900 "dead" white screen--how do I contact RIM for replacement of faulty hardware?

    Hello,
I purchased my 8900 new on eBay After having the phone for less than 6 months, the screen completely went out--it displays a white screen with slightly gray stripes. Phone was not dropped, submerged in water, or damaged in any way.
What is the phone number to contact RIM directly to ask about a replacement? The phone is less than a year old, so should still be under warranty.
    Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to the Forums!
Front line support for BB's is, by contract, not provided by RIM. The carriers and authorized resellers are responsible for front line formal support to end users. It is possible to bypass your carrier and seek assistance direct from RIM, but such involves fees since you are bypassing your support agreement with your carrier. The "Support and Services" tab toward the top of these forum pages provide information about that. But, if you do go through your carrier for support, they can escalate into RIM at no fee to you if they so choose to.

  • LDAP Password Error in Publisher for CUCM and Unity Connection

    HI all,
We recently virtualized all our unified communications and I'm having an odd issue with LDAP Directory configuration.
When attempting to do an Ldap synch from the publisher  in either CUCM OR CUC I get the following error:
    Ldap Password::
    - Passwords do not match
If I try to do a synch through the subscriber, directory will synch with no issues. If I redo the password and the confirm password and immediately synch without first saving,it works, but if I Save before re-synching,  I get the above error.
    Current Versions:
    CUCM: 8.6.2.22900-9
    CUC: 8.6.2ES44.22900-44
    Anyone have any ideas?

Have you taken a look at the docwiki about spec based hardware of unified communications?

  • CUCM 10 publisher & subscriber.

    Dears,
I have a publisher and subscriber CUCM 10.5 with 2 voice gateway within a single site, instead of subscriber sleeping always i want to make it work also, so i have thought that i will split the 1000 phones on pub and sub  with 2 no's cucm groups and phones registered with pub will use VG1 and VG2 (MGCP gateway) and phones registered with SUB will also use VG1 and VG2 (MGCP gateway).
Is it this is a correct thoughts for design and what obstacles i can face in this design

    Dear Manish,
    Thanks for the reply,
tftp, for example the phones on 2nd and 3rd flr  will hit the option 150 with primary as subscriber and phones on 1st nd 2nd flr will hit the option 150 with primary as a publisher.
MGCP gateway: Gateway configuration will be same for both of them as they will have redundant publisher and redundant subscriber.
    I have 2 no's E1 PRI so i can add them in 2 different route groups ???
    for example as below.
    RG-PUB
    port1--router 1
    port 2---router 2
    RG-SUB
    port2--router2
    port1-router1
and these will be called in the RL with route pattern.
    Thanks

  • Software issue from Easter time, hardware replaced from water damage

Hi I damaged my computer from water at Easter and have just replaced all the hardware affected (My insurance company *****)
and my computer keeps crashing and freezing, meaning i need to do a force shutdown and reboot. The technicians have done all the necessary procedures and
their repair software says everything is running smooth.
It took me 6 times just to login and get my computer to work for more than 5 minutes, then it crashes unpredictably at any time, it can
work all day or like i said it can take more than 6 times just to open it up and then it might crash.
It also, I have noticed has become very slow especially at start up, my hardrive is clean as i got a new one and i have 16gb of ram, I am
currently in safe mode and it keeps lagging for about a second every now and then apart form that so far so good but It could
crash at any moment i just don't know.
Ok it has crashed in safe mode so im using a different computer (yay freedom of the unpredictable freeze!)
I have also reinstalled my OS once, but i am going to try that again tonight,
My question is, can anyone shed any light into my incredibly frustrating position? My insurance company say the problem is software
related, but i have already tried reinstalling the OS!
Note i didn't have this problem since i damaged my computer but apparently it IS software related so i presume its a software problem from around
    Easter time.
And a draft of my dissertation is in for two weeks!   I need my macbook!
    Much Thanks Tom

Your problems are probably caused by Avast, which is known to give trouble (including false readings) on OS X. Get rid of it.
Can i Install the previous OS?
    No, not easily:

  • BARS data (when replacing publisher server)

    Hi there,
I gonna replace the publisher server and then connect the new publisher with the existing subscriber.
    My question is:
When I run BARS and choose the data source server, should I choos both publisher and subscriber server?
    Or just publisher server?
I read the BARS document as follows,
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_administration_guide_chapter09186a00807a78ce.html
And "Replacing Servers During the Upgrade" as follows, http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_callmg/4_1/install/upgrade/upg413/replace.htm
Those documents don't include the detailed information.
    Thanks.

    Hi Qinghao, Thanks man!
    Good stuff, you are halfway there! The db replication problem and DC directory health problem are most likely related;
    Interpreting the Results
The validation results display in the Upgrade Assistant Summary window. At the top of the window, a report summarizes the results for all modules and displays which modules failed, which modules produced warnings, and which modules passed. A link to the folder that contains all log files, including the Upgrade Assistant Summary report, displays also.
To identify a problem with the failed validation module, review the following information that displays in the Summary window:
The first link points to the log file that specifies the error or warning.
Click the first link and search for the error or warning; for example, ERR: or WARN: .
The second link points to the corrective action file that describes the log file error message and recommends the corrective action.
Click the second link to open the corrective action file. Search the corrective action file for the error message that is noted in the log file. Review the description and corrective action.
Caution After you correct all problems that the utility identifies, Cisco strongly recommends that you run the utility again on every server in the cluster before you begin the upgrade.
    Obtaining the Log File
You can obtain the results from the utility in the following directory:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Cisco\Logs\UPGRADEASST (for example, UPGRADEASST-05-15-2003_13.47.58)
To access the log file, click the Summary file.
Tip A link to the log file displays in the Summary window for every failed validation module. To access the log file, click the link in the Summary window.
The Summary.html file, which is the Upgrade Assistant Summary report, provides the exact same information that displays in the Upgrade Assistant Summary window.
Each time that you run the utility, the utility creates a new log folder and new set of log files. The utility does not remove the log files, even if you uninstall the utility. You erase the log files when you reimage the server or manually delete the files.
    From this good doc;
Using Cisco CallManager Upgrade Assistant Utility 4.1(3) for Cisco CallManager Release 3.3(5) and Later Releases
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/prod_installation_guide09186a00803f5c59.html#wp262763
**This db replication between Pub and Sub(s) is broken**
The publisher database server upgrade requires that all call-processing processes that the server handles fail over to the configured subscriber servers. Database replication must exist prior to the upgrade, so failover occurs.
This utility verifies the database replication status for all subscriber servers in the cluster. This utility validates that the database contains the latest information about the system. Validation results include Running, Idle, Failed, or Succeeded.
    Have a look at this doc for the method to fix the db replication issue;

  • CUCM failover to subscriber failure!

    Hi everyone!
I have a CUCM cluster of one publisher and one subscriber, active version 7.0 and inactive version 5.1.3
The pubslisher failed due to a power failure, the Cisco DB wasn't  starting at all, and there was no DRS backup.  Anyway, I did an upgrade  from 5.1 to 7.0 again on the publisher while the telephony was  operational normally on the subscriber node.
After the  upgrade, I uploaded the Publisher's and Subscriber's licenses, I added  back all the changes done to the CUCM between the databases of 5 and 7  (manually added by comparing to the subscriber's) and I replicated to  the subscriber when I was done and the replication state was good '2'. And I took an immediate DRS backup.
However, the problem appeared when I restarted the  CUCM's publisher node and none of the phones registered with the  subscriber node. I thought it was a network problem or server going  slow. I turned the publisher off for around 20 mins and nothing changed.
The  configuration of the Call Manager group is correct, the licenses are  correct, everything seem to be ok. When the phones are registered with  the publisher, I can see them registered from the subscriber's phone  page but when I stop the publisher, they turn to 'unknown'.
Does  anyone have any clue why this is happening? Do I have to upgrade the  subscriber again from 5 to 7? I just had this clue in mind, it doesn't  make sense to me since replication is working fine between the servers.
One  more thing, I use FreeSshd to do the DRS backup on an XP machine, it  wasn't connecting on my laptop with Windows 7. What are you guys using  on Windows 7? Tried a search result on Google but nothing worked.
Thank you for reading and for tips!
    Regards,
    Mazen

    Hi Mazen,
I think you are on the right track with your thought of re-building
    the Subscriber
    You would be hitting this CUCM 5.x restriction;
    Replacing the Publisher Node
Complete the following tasks to replace the Cisco Unified CallManager publisher server. If you are replacing a single server that is not part of a cluster, follow this procedure to replace your server.
Caution     If you are replacing a publisher node in a cluster, you must also reinstall all the subscriber nodes and dedicated TFTP servers in the cluster, after replacing the publisher node. For instructions on reinstalling these other nodes types, see the "Replacing a Subscriber or Dedicated TFTP Server Node" section
Follow the references in the For More Information column to get more information about a step.

  • Is there a way to insert/update .js files in an .oam after publishing?

I'm working on a rather complex Animate project that utilizes Edge Commons and jQuery UI. I'm using Edge Animate CC 2014 because 2014.1 broke some of that functionality and I was already too far into the project to update the code.
When I'm testing the project via "Preview in Browser" everything works great. But when I publish as either a .oam file or as web, the project is just broken. The interactive elements that depended upon Edge Commons are gone.
I've narrowed the issue down to the three files "index_edge.js", "index_edgeActions.js", and "index_edgePreload.js". If I copy the working files from the Animate project directory and replace the published versions, the web export works. I'm assuming Edge Animate is compressing the code in these files and that is breaking something. However, I need a .oam file so that it can be utilized by the next person in the chain. Is there a way to replace those three files with the 'working' versions within the .oam file?

    Hi ,
Open your edgeProject/index_edgeActions.js.Replace the following with single line comment. Open in edge animate 2014 and publish again. Published content will work
