Replacing an Ipod touch, but my I have re-installed my os.

Hello, I recently got my third replacement Ipod touch, but before i got it I had to do a clean install on my computer. I am now trying to sync the iPod, but i do not know how to find my old app purchases. Any ideas?

Sign into your iTunes account and select the option to view you purchase history. You can then redownload the app, abet one at a time, at no additional cost. See:

I am trying to restore an older iPod Touch, but do not have the passcode.  I am getting an error message saying that I need to free up some space, but I cannot because I don't have the passcode and have never synced this device to my account.  Help..

If it is asking for the screen-lock passcode then:
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
    Otherwise follow varjak paw recommendation

    First try this:
    - Go on iTunes computer
    - plug in the iPod
    - authorize your device from store/authorize
    - iPod / transfer from iPod by right clicking on the left pane
This will only transfer iTunes purchased music, not ripped CDs. and it is unnecessary now, as the music can just be downloaded from the cloud.

  • I upgraded my ipod touch but my apps have disappeared

I upgraded my ipod touch but my apps have disappeared

If in the USA you can redownload them here:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If not, yur can just repurchases them.  Yu will not be chared again as long as you are signed into the same iTunes account that originally purchased them.
Were the apps in the iTunes library of he computer on which yu did the update?  If not they will not be n the iPod after the update. Apps themselves (app data is) are not in th backup that iTunes make as the first step of the update. They are synced from the iTunes library to the iPod at the end of the update.

  • ITunes wants me to set up the iPod Touch - but I already have

My daughter has a 4th gen iPod touch. When she got it about 6 months ago, I set it up by connecting to my MacBook Pro. Today I wanted to back it up, which we have never done before.  When I connect it to iTunes, the only options I get are to set it up from new or restore it from a backup. I don't have a backup obviously, and if I set it up as new, she will lose all the messages from her friends and the home movies she has made.
Why don't I get the usual options to sync the iPod touch and back it up?

    Does the iPod work OK?

  • ITunes says there is almost a GB of photos on my iPod touch, but I only have 6 pictures

    Hello Apple community:
I have an 8GB iPod touch, 4th Gen. I am trying to make some space for movies, iOS 6 upgrades, etc. and I noticed on iTunes' "iPod touch summary page", there is almost a gig of pictures, even though I only have abou 6 pictures, and half aren't even hi-res! Is there a way to get iTunes to recognize that there are only 6 pictures?
    Thanks

I had a similar situation with movies - 6G of phantom files.  Uncheck this box and do a sync.  Check it and sync again.

  • Buying 16 GB iPod Touch but do I have to buy the usb adapter ?

    Title says it all.
Is there anything about the Apple usb adapter that means that no other 5 volt usb adapter would work with the iPod ?

    Mains adapter?
Depends on make/model but I think there should be no problem with older versions, unlike charging straight to the 32 pin connector via some older docks.

  • I have to restore my ipod touch, but where will my music be that hasnt sync'd yet that i purchased on my ipod?

I have to restore my ipod touch, but where will my music be that i downloaded from my ipod? It hasnt sync'd to my computer yet because my ipod isnt 'recognized' by my computer, therefor I need to Restore it. But I dont want to restore it if I'm going to lose those songs...

I lost my music once because a faulty hard disk, I got in touch with iTunes support and got back most of it, except those that where pulled off the iTunes Store, but I am not sure what are the current policies. That is why I advice you to take it to the Apple Store, if it is a faulty unit you might get it replaced for free, who knows.

With your iPod connected to your computer and iTunes running, select your iPod form the left pane, click the File menu in top bar, from there select "transfer purchases from iPod"

I have an iPod Touch and an iPad4. iTunes recognises both items and lets me work with the iPod Touch but won't work with the iPad. In fact iTunes does not respond to clicking on anything in the iPad window even though it knows that it's connected. Any ideas?

Look her and it may give insite on what is missing. Otherwise:

Your iPhone and iPod can share the same iTunes account.  Apps can be freely shared and used by one or both devices.  You can't use money in your iTunes account to pay for your phone, but purchased apps can be used by both the iPod and iPhone.

  • Can I hook up an ipod touch to a tv so I can use facetime across the globe.  I live in Oz my brother lives in UK and I want to buy him an ipod touch so we can have the great facetime chats but I want to do it on the bigscreen.  Is this possible?

I think the title says it all really.  I am looking to buy my brother in the UK an ipod touch so we can have a good chat via facetime as I find it better than Skype BUT I want to have the conversation on the tv rather than all the family trying to cram around an ipod touch or the ipad.  Is there a way of hooking the devices up to the tv so we can acheive this?  It would be great if we could.  I know you can hook up an ipod to the tv to watch films etc if it jailbroken so the technology is there but do Apple utilise it all the way?  If not why not?  I dont want this to turn into a platform for politics please, just after a little help.

Google shows it will works with a 5G iPod touch and with a Apple TV 2. You would use AirPlay mirroring.

  • I have an ipod touch. But i want to buy a ipod shuffel. Can i sync my music from the touch to the shuffel and if so how?

I have a ipod touch but want to buy a ipod shuffel. can i sync my music from the touch to the shuffel and how? but if i cant how do i buy music from itunes on the shuffel?

You can't go directly from the Touch to the Shuffle, but if you can get the music into your itunes library on your computer, you'll be able to sync that music to the Shuffle no problem. Follow the steps in this article to transfer any music you've purchased on your iPod into the computer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848
