Replacing audio track - slideshow

I have managed to create an imovie project with a slideshow of still images, and an audio track.
I now want to re-use the same slideshow, but with different audio track.
I spent a lot of time setting up the slideshow, and would prefer not to have to repeat the whole process.
Is there any way I can re-use the existing slideshow, but replace the audio track?
Thanks.

If you still have the project in the Project Library and wish to preserve it, right-click (or Control-click) on it and select Duplicate Project from the pop-up menu, or select File > Duplicate Project from the main menu. A copy will be placed in the Library. It will have the same name as the original but with a number appended. The name can be changed - just click on it and it will be contained within a light blue background. Overtype the name to your preferred name.
In the duplicate project, you can now delete the original audio track (assuming it's a separate track below the video thumbnails in the timeline). Click on the audio track to highlight it, then press the Delete key on the keyboard.

I've never used muxers under Linux, but you can try mpegdemux.
Take a look at Elecard Xmuxer Pro, for example – but that costs $$$. Look here and you may find a good, free Windows-based tool.

  • Replacing Audio Track on iMovie 10.0.6 on Yosemite

I have a movie from a school concert (from a DSLR) that I have imported into iMove. I simply want to replace the iMove audio track with the TASCAM digital audio track that I recorded separately. In researching this on the web and here on the discussion posts it appears that I need to "detach audio" from the movie in iMove and then (somehow) import my replacement.wav file.
The PROBLEM is that the "Modify --> Detach Audio" menu item is greyed out - in fact most of the "Join Clips", "Split Clip", etc. menu items are greyed out.
How do I use these menus to replace the audio track in my iMovie clip?
Right now iMovie is just a "Quicktime Player" unless I can get some of this functionality out of "menu greyed out space" and into "useable function space".
    Looking for some basic guidance.
    Thanks

Looks like I was trying to detach the audio from the movie clip in the media library.......so iMovie is now much more than a Quicktime player!!! After selecting the movie clip in the movie project I was able to:
detach the audio from the movie using the Modify menu selection
drag and drop my replacement.wav file onto the "1/8th notes icon" as an audio track
since the movie and the .wav file both had the same audio, amazingly it looks like iMovie may correlated the audio tracks and lined my replacement.wav file up with the beginning of the clip (or I started the DSLR and TASCAM at exactly the same time which is statistically possible but not likely).
Excellent Job Apple - iMove works great.

  • Replace audio tracks in a timeline

    Hi all.
This is actually kind of embarrasing, but here it goes:
I've made a rough cut of some source material with 4 audio channels, channels 1-2 with environment audio and track 3-4 with interview audio.
Me being stupid, I did not enable the second audio track on the timeline onto which the clips where going, hence I've got a timeline with only the environment audio, but no voice.
Is there an automated way to replace the tracks? Edit done in cs6.
    Best regards, Norway.

I found the solution my self.
Mark all the clips with wrong audio channels. Hit "Clip" on the upper menu bar, Modify>Audio Channels and do the replacement in the dialog that pops up.

  • Appliaction to replace audio tracks in QT movies

    Helloo,
I am looking for utility to replace original audio tracks with a new audio tracks in exisiting QT movie.
Technically, there is a folder A with QT movies (Video and Audio track in each) and folder B with Audio files only (length of movies and audio files is the same). I need the utilty that takes file from folder B and replaces na audio track in QT movie in folder A with it (matches by file name).
The reason I need this is that I've got a QT movies and I need to enhance an audio tracks. I can extraxt audio files, send them to audio batch processor, get them back... and I need another batch application to exchange original files with the new, processed files.
I know it could be done with Apple Script, but I feel that something ready to use could exist...
It would be great if there is a single applicaiton that can do it (audio extraction - processing - exchange).
    Thank you.
    Peter

    Hi,
yes, I know. But I am looking for a way how to automatize this task. I am talking about a thousands of short movies and I need to process their audiotracks. I don't want to do it manually ...

  • Replacing audio track with and synching with separate recording

    Hello,
I've read everything I can find, including numerous websites, the help file, and a book, but can't find this answer with step by step instructions using Premiere Elements 9.
I have the trial version, and will purchase once I figure this out. I only need to make Youtube videos with a separately recorded audio file replacing the audio that is already on the video. in other words,  I have a separate Mp3 audio file of the same audio performance using an audio recorder and I want to replace the audio on the original video with the other Mp3.
What are the steps involved to make sure the new audio is in synch with the audio already on the video, beginning with the original recordings and working through to the finished product?
    Thank you.

Hunt, I hope I didn't seem dismissive of Steve's book - I did think it was very good and am glad I purchased it. I just wasn't able to figure out the answer based on what was in it.
I did not take your comment as dismissive in any way, and highly doubt that Steve did either. I do not have his newer version book, but only some older ones, or I would have grabbed it and checked to see if he DID cover this material in it, just maybe buried in another topic. My comments were pure speculation, as what you are doing is not "mainstream," though is becoming more so monthly.
For my PrPro (slightly older version), I have the printed manual (yes, they used to do those), the Adobe Classroom in a Book, plus several other volumes dedicated to it, and even the print-out of the Help File PDF. Still, I, and other users are always coming up with some use, that is not covered anywhere!
One of the recent changes to the Help File in many Adobe programs, is that it is now a live On-line document, and there are engineers, who do little but update and add to that. This was almost impossible with printed material (though I still have my old ring-binder for the original WordPerfect, and monthly, they used to send me new pages to either add, or replace - long time ago).
When I am working in the forums, I usually have the particular program open and in front of me, as I am always coming up against questions, thinking, "wow, I would never have thought of doing that," and having to duplicate the actions that a poster outlines, or experimenting to find if what they want is possible. Often, when I do one of the experiments successfully, I'll add an article on doing it, to the Tips & Tricks sub-forum here. One example of that was "Fading a Title Crawl," which turned out to be both fun, and relatively easy, when I got into the experiments.
I have a stong feeling that Steve will have a bit more "music video" instruction in his next PrE book, as it is becoming more popular, as evidenced by the number of posts that we are seeing lately. More folk are doing that. Same thing for shooting with what were considered non-standard cameras, just a few years ago, like various smartphones.
    Good luck, and happy editing,
    Hunt

  • Is it possible to Replace audio in a video without re-importing and re-exporting ?

    Hi..
i have exported a video of 2 hours length..  Then i just feel i need to replace the audio with another audio file which has small tweaks in it..  Can i replace the audio in the video i exported without having to reimport the video into fcpx and re-exporting ??
can i do this ? is there a way to replace audio ? any external apps available ?
Do let me know.. Thank you !
    Regards,

If you're set against reimporting/exporting: Quick Time Pro should accomplish what you're trying to do. It's a $29 license, but is much more useful than QTX and is a tool worth having if you don't already/

  • Replacing audio in QT movie doesn't change overall size of movie?

H-264 movie made for web distribution. My best video compressor only creates AIF audio files ... which are mighty big.
I made an MP3 audio file in Logic.
I replaced the original AIF audio in the Quicktime movie with the MP3 audio ... (which is 23 megs smaller) but 'info' says the QT movie is still the same size.
How can I replace audio track in QT movie (with a smaller size audio track ... and see the difference registered in the QT movie 'info'?
    All ears,
    Ben

Open your audio/video QuickTime file and then open the the Movie Properties window.
Highlight (single click) on the "Video" track and "Extract" (upper left of that window) to make a new video only version.
Open your audio QuickTime file, select all (Command-A) and copy (Command-C). This stores your audio track on the Clipboard.
Switch back to your "extracted" video track, select all (Command-A) and choose "Add to Selection & Scale" (Edit menu).
Test this file and then "Save As" to make a self contained QuickTime .mov file from these parts.

  • Replacing audio in mp4 movie clip

For two days now I'm trying to find a way to easily replace audio track in my mp4 movie clip without re-encoding the whole thing. I found an answer how to do it in QuickTime Pro and some other software, but no luck with Adobe Premiere Pro or Audition or other Adobe CS6 Production Premium software which I own. Can somebody please tell me how to do it? Is it even possible
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Kevin,
There is a way!  I just figured it out!
I have my extracted audio in the clip bin where it should be after I "edit audio in Adobe Audition."  I then unlinked just my audio clips with the track selection tool as they were on the same track.  Then I relinked the audio to the extracted enhanced audio file and BAM!  It worked!
Figuring this out just saved me hours possibly days of manually replacing these audio clips!

  • IPhoto slideshow to quicktime and audio tracks fadeout, undesirable.

I made a quicktime movie out of an iPhoto slideshow and the audio tracks fade out. Can this be prevented?

You probably will need a 3rd party application to convert the . mov QT file that iPhoto creates into a format for the iPod. Some are VisualHub, ViddyUp, and iSquint. You can find them at VersionTracker.com.
    Happy Holidays
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Need help replacing original audio track with song.

    Hi experts
I'm in the process of trying to create a movie for my daughters. What I did was film my daughters signing to a song that was playing on a CD player. I'd like to remove the audio track and replace it with the same song I purchased on Itunes. So far I able to import the video and song and put them on the timeline.
Now I can't never get the song I added to the timeline to play. How can this be done? And, please, point me to a good book
    Thanks,
    Francis Ouellet

Yes, I import both the movie and the song into the browser. Then I drag and drop the video into the timeline (V1) the corresponding audio track is moved automatically to A1 and A2. This plays well. Now I drag and drop my purchased song to the timeline (A3 and A4). If I hit the play button it only plays my video and sound (With a beep every second or so).
It just seems that the video and music tracks aren't linked together. Sorry, just purchased FCE this weekednd

  • Replacing the original audio track

so i'm kind of new to premiere and i was wondering how you would replace the audio of an original clip with a different audio track?

Alt drag audio into audio on timeline.
Must be of the same length or have an inpoint otherwise it will be out of sync.
Save way is to put the different audio on a track below the original and mute the original.

  • How Can I Replace An Extracted Audio Track?

Yup, after I have extracted an audio track from the video track how can I replace it? Dragging & dropping isn't working neither is cutting & pasting. I wasn't able to find any info on this at all. Please don’t tell me it's irreversible. AAUUUUUUGHH!!
MacPro1,1   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Dual-Core Intel Xeon, Processor Speed: 3 GHz, Bus Speed:1.33 GHz, Memory:2 GB, Number Of Processors: 2,Boot ROM Version: MP11.005C.B04

    ibblefum,
The extract audio command copies the audio from the selected clip and place it on the one of the two audio tracks. It then sets the audio in the original clip to zero.
To restore the audio in the original clip, just select it and raise the level back to 100%.

  • I did a "Bounce - replace all tracks" and now all my mono audio tracks are stereo... What's the safest way to get them mono?

I don't think I unchecked the "Include volume and pan automation" checkbox before the "Bounce - replace all tracks" conversion. I hadn't added any volume or pan automations I figured: you can't include something I haven't added, although I did probably have the pan controls set in the mixer. Anyway, now I want to convert my six (previously mono) tracks from stereo back to mono, preserving as much as possible the original mono sound quality before it was converted to stereo, so that I can start mixing. Every MP3 I've exported is ignoring the pan settings I have in the mixer, I suspect due to the fact that the audio for each track is now stereo (I changed the tracks back to "mono" in the mixer but the audio remains in stereo). Unfortunately I don't have any unused audio files in the audio bin and I killed the undo history as well.

Thats what I came up with:
As you can see I got a stereo file on track 1 to start with,
Now go to the corresponding channel strip and switch to mono,
Perform a BIP to a new track
and the result will be in mono.
