Replacing fan notebook dv3-2350el

hi,
my notebook is a
Hp Pavillion dv3-2350el
(product n. VY338EA#ABZ)
everytime i turn on my pc, it makes a really bad and high noise for about a minute, then it slow down and the noise is reduced (however still not like when it was new).
at this point i intend to sobstitute the fan but i'm not sure how to find the correct model, without opening the pc...
how cani i find the correct spare part model?

Please look at page 25. It gives you the fan part number. You could also Contact HP. To Contact Us please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Replacing RTC battery on DV3-2350EL

Hi,
is it possible to replace the RTC battery on HP Pavilion DV3-2350el without make warranty void?
How can I get the replacement battery? Can I use a standard CR2032 or does the battery come embedded with envelope and cables?

I don't believe this will effect your warranty, but you can always check with HP using the relevant link below.

Replacement Fan for DV7-6195US

Greetings All,
I need to order a replaceent fan/heatsink for a DV7-6195US notebook. I can't seem to find the part # or any other info. for this on the usual pages. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The manual only lists fan/heat sink assembly for Intel processors with 2GB discrete graphics system & not for 1GB discrete graphics, which is present in yours.

Through online stores, I could find that both are compatible with your laptop model - 666390-001 or 666391-001.

Are you referring to the processor cooling fan? If that is the case then genuine parts can be purchased through the HP Parts store. For most owners it is wise to have it replaced through a local HP service center. If you are confident enough to disassemble you laptop and replace it yourself then order it at the Parts Store. The electronic parts category will have the part. Look at the service tag on your notebook to get the proper number for the part search

HP DV3-2350el - system clock loses time

Hi,
I have a HP Pavilion DV3-2350el, just returned back from a repair by HP in warranty.
Now I've noticed that the system clock loses time when the notebook is off.
I think it should be a CMOS battery issue, but I haven't found any information about it.

How old is your machine ? Normally a CMOS battery can last for 4 or 5 years. Anyway, you may want to try yourself or bring it back to the repairer to reseat the CMOS battery. You can download this manual, page 4-22 shows you how to work with the RTC (or CMOS) battery.

You can order a replacement fan from eBay but you need to first take apart the laptop to find the fan part number to make sure you get the right part. Otherwise you will have to send it in to get it fixed. Those are your two options right now.

G5 - ATI X800 XT Noise. Replacement fan?

I have a G5 with a stock ATI Radeon X800 XT video card. Over the last few weeks it has been making a whining sound. I tried to clean it with compressed air but it still makes the noise. I know years ago they made replacement fans like the ATI Silencer5 but I can't find one anywhere since they were discontinued. Any suggestions on how to salvage this card? I like the card and would rather stick with it as opposed to replacing it.

Not sure, but a bury frame fan might have the right connector:

If the fan in the X800XT is of the same size and has the same mounting pattern, replacing the fan may be a good option.
Problem is, graphics cards use very small connectors, which are non-standard for replacement fans (except for Arctic Cooling products).
This is why many opt for cutting wires, or else accept the use of 2 or 3 pin fan to Molex adapters....

Getting a replacement fan & heatsink module for my MSI NX6800GT (agp)

Hi all,
I got a bit of a problem, the fan on my MSI NX6800GT (agp) sounds like a dog, after removing the card and having a look, it appears that the spindle that holds the fan in place has worn out (the fan seems to drop down onto the plastic and thats what is making the noise) . Its buggered basically. Do any of you fine people know of where I can get a decent replacement fan and heatsink?

OK, I ordered one of those nv silencers, I thought about contacting MSI like you guys said but after reading about this product I thought what the hell . . . £20 but worth it.

It came yesterday, so last night I installed it, fitted well, one small thing on the instructions, there is an "L" shaped metal bracket called a passive heatsink plate, now I know my **** from my elbow but could I work out where this was supposed to go? . . . NO.
Anyway it appears that I dont need this bit, why cant they just say "this bit is optional". Kinda scary fitting stuff like this when youre as green as me.
Anyway, all went well. Thank you all.

Tecra M2: Can I replace the notebooks LCD to SXGA+ screen

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the standard XGA screen I have in my Tecra M2 with a SXGA+ screen. Do i need to change anything other than the LCD display?

As far as I know the notebooks are delivered with different hardware configuration. The same notebook series can be delivered with the XGA screen and SXGA+ screen.
I think you can replace your TFT display to another one but the display size must be the same.
I assume the Tecra M2 needs a 14.1 display.
But why do you want replace the notebooks screen??? First of all you should know that the display replacement is not easy and it should be done only by a technician or a person who has a good notebook experience. Furthermore the new display is not cheap. You have to spend about 350$ for a new part and I think its not worth.

TS440 Replacement Fan Failure

I tried replacing all of the fans in the my TS440 with after-market ones from Noctura but only the 92mm fans worked. The replacement 120mm and 80mm fans would not spin up. However, they would spin briefly when I turned the server off and the 80mm fan would work when I plugged it into the header for front system fan 1. The CPU-fan of my AE2400 is starting to break down (making terrible noise the first few minutes after starting up).
On-line I can only find replacement fans for MSI laptops.

I believe the part you want is number 488885-001, according to the service guide (below)
You could also try the Intel version.... 480481-001. These can be found on ebay for as little as $5. The HP parts store seems to suggest that this would also work, they are listed as a part for sale for your model.

Unfortunately, it's a fairly complicated process to replace the fan. If you're not a techie or have experience repairing laptops, you might want to check out a HP authorized repair shop.
