Replacing Green screen on FLV

What code do I use to change out back grounds with an
existing green back ground on an FLV video using Action Script?
I am coding with Flash 8.
Will this same functionailty also work with my FlashLite 3

  • Green Screen works - replace green screen clip - nothing....

    iMovie 09 8.0.6. (821)
Seems like once I delete a green-screen clip from a background, I cannot replace it with another green screen clip.
I created the background clip. Created the green-screen clip by importing a Quicktime movie of an animation. Imported the movie. Dropped green on background - worked perfectly.
I deleted the green screen clip from above the background clip. Exited the project. Made a modification in the origin green-screen clip. Returned to the project Imported the modified Quicktime movie. Dropped it on the background. Got the + sign. Everything seemed okay. However. The green-screen does not appear.
As a test, I dropped it on a different clip in the same project - worked perfectly.
Seems like once I delete a green-screen clip from a background, I cannot replace it with another green screen clip.

It looks as though they used the keyed out torso as a track matte for the other footage.

  • Possible to replace this green screen without masking?

So here's what I'm working with:
What I ultimately need to do is replace that green screen with some video footage. But there are a few problems that make this not all that straight forward...
It starts off with nothing on top of it, but the photos are gradually placed around it (all while the camera is "swimming").
I'm tracking it in Mocha, no problem. And getting the corner pin data in there to properly place the footage is easy.
But what I'm having issue with is replacing that green screen footage so that the photos show up "on top" of the video. I've got the drop-in video on one layer, then the source footage on top of it and I key it out so the video shows up underneath it.
But if I just do a basic key on that top footage, I end up screwing it up because of all the tweaks I need to do to get a good key while keeping details like shadows.
So, is there a way to do it, without creating a precise mask around all the green? The mask would have to be generated in Mocha, I assume, since all these photos are being laid on top of it...meaning I'd need to track them as well.

This isn't the most meticulously-planned shot I've ever seen, sad to say.  For instance, one of those cards added to the shot actually has some green in it.
Think about trying to green screen Kermit The Frog.
To salvage it, I'd make a precision mask on a solid around the green card, motion track it into place for whatever kind of motion "swimming" describes, and use it as a track matte to fill up the green.  I'd use Rotobrush to create masks for the cards being placed in the shot.  I'd fake the shadows.
    No keys.

  • Can anyone help with a Green Screen Walk Out with FLV

I have seen a number of sites that use an interactive video walking out over the website. I have final cut and can create an .flv with a green screen. The problem is I do not know how to create the player for the overlay. I think I may need CS3 but I was hoping someone might have a work around.
    Here is an example: www.thinkvacuums.com
I was able to take the source and put it into iweb as a test but I can't access the files to swap out my video.
If anyone knows how to do this with Iweb and not using CS3 please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Will

  • Can Motion 5 replace a green screen and blue screen in the same shot?

Can Motion 5 replace a green screen and blue screen in the same shot? I would like to replace a green screen with one image, and a blue screen with another.

Fox gives a good example for keying green & blue (or any other color)  from the same shot. I'd suggest doing a few things to get better accuracy.
First, the motion keyer always removes the color it detects the most of by default (blue/green). You can override this by setting the Strength parameter to zero, then use the Color sample tool to select the color you want. The advantage is motion will do a good job of targeting only the hue (color) that you want to remove and set an appropriate starting softness.  It also will remove spill based on this color.  Looking at Fox's example movie and the shot, I'd approach the same shot this way:
    Remove the Blue
    1. Apply the keyer and set the strength to zero.
    2. Use the Sample Color tool and select the blue (or other color) to be removed.
    3. Decrease the spill level (if needed). In Fox's example the spill from the blue glasses is going to be minimal, especially compared to the green screen, your shot may need different adjustments. Only de-spilling what you need to will give you more accurate color right away and minimize additional color correction that might be needed later.
    4. Use the Color selection tools (Chroma wheel/Luma bar) to fine tune.  Ideally you want a minimal tolerance, the inner selection, with a nice fall off, the outer selection. Try with the Scrub boxes setting first, then switch to manual if you need more control. Again see Fox's example.
    Remove Green
It's the same as the blue, you could apply the keyed to the same clip or a parent group, at this point it's many user preference.
With these techniques you can remove any color from a shot or create a mask based on a color. BTW, as you are learning to use the keyer I'd highly recommend  having the Color Selection open so you can see the graphs.  These give you real time feedback as you make selections and changes with the Strength, Refine and Color selection tools.  Watch what happens as you make selection or changes, sometimes the problem area is actually in the brightness not the color, or the softness may change  more than the tolerance selection.  Observing what is happening in these graphs will help you figure out wha to change and speed things up.

  • Green Screen issue with an flv file

I am attempting to create a Green Screen were I walk out onto my website and speak to the viewer. Everything looks good and plays within Premiere but after exporting and placing it on my webpage a black background shows instead of the background being transparent. can someone help with what I am doing wrong?

    > and are flv files the only ones that I would run into this with?
There are other kinds of files that can include alpha channels (transparency). Just so that you know what to look for, QuickTime and some other formats require you to specify the inclusion of an alpha channel from a color depth or channels menu. In some cases, a plus sign (as in Millions Of Colors+) denotes an alpha channel. Similarly, choosing to output to 32 bits per pixel implies an output depth of 8 bits per channel for each of four channels: RGBA (where A is for alpha).
But, yes, FLV with video encoded with the On2 VP6 codec is the main format for web video that supports alpha channels.

  • Green screen replacement appears as watermark only

    Hello all,
I am using iMovie 10 on my MacBook Pro OS X 10.9.4.
Trying to use the green screen option to replace the background of some home videos (shot with a Canon DSL)
but the background does not get replaced totally and appears as a watermark. This shows a bit of both backgrounds but everything
is blurred. I have tried trouble shooting by reading posts with similar problems as well as watched videos that show how to use this option
properly (i.e. dragging the background on top not over the video) but have been unsuccessful.
The post most similar to mine is by JakeTheSnake01 on Aug 29, 2013, 10.58am.
Sadly no one answered his post.
Please assist in any way. Many thanks.

For anyone interested: I deleted the movies on the 2G and reinstalled them using my other computer which uses Windows XP and ITunes 8. The green screen no longer appears when I play the movies. They were first installed with my computer that uses Vista. ITunes 8 is acting funny on the Vista machine. If I click on a link it will not go to the page until the pointer is removed from the link. I will reinstall ITunes and see if that helps. Anyway, I hope this post makes sense!

  • Green Screen Problems, Please Help!

I'm experiencing problems with the greenscreen effects of iMovie 09. I really need help. What happens is when I drag the clip ontop of the other clip, I click green screen. Then play the clip and see just a few reen dots, not the green screen footage. If you need a link to the footage its http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAFMRKsoX5E. Please help, as this is one of the main reasons I bought a Mac.

the material you're linking to is in a .flv container (and downloading it violates the ToU of YouTube, just to mention that )
after re-wrapping it into a suitable format, works like charme:
… aside missing drop shadows, wrong perspective, missing highlights,
and somehow the dino is a lil' bit 'opaque'
how or into what did you convert the t-rex.flv?

  • [SOLVED] Gnome 3 == The Green Screen of Death

    Greetings,
Trying to load GNOME 3 seems to result constantly in nothing but a bright green screen and mouse, despite anything else I've tried. Nothing else loads. I have to change tty to do anything else. Doing so, I executed htop and saw that only 2% of my CPU was being used, and the only thing from GNOME3 that was running was GDM.
These are the steps I have taken before posting in here....
1.) I followed the steps in the wiki for upgrading to GNOME3. Testing repo is the first repo.
----- That brought me into fallback mode but was missing many things. Upon investigation I saw that I had never fully installed GNOME 2 to begin with, that I only had XFCE and GNOME stuff that were brought in as dependecies to some other programs I had installed. So.....
2.) pacman -Rcns gnome followed by following the Wiki for installing from scratch.
----- Got the correct GDM (takes a while to load it), but only get the green screen with mouse cursor.
3.) Thinks and searches, "Hey I need pulseaudio... maybe that is why it isn't working." So I follow the wiki on installing pulseaudio.
    ----- Still, green screen
4.) Maybe, just maybe, it doesn't like the nouvela driver? So I change to nvidia.
    ----- Still, green screen
    5.) Try another pacman -Syu.
----- Nothing new related to gnome 3 updates. Still green screen.
6.) Search frantically on google for anything related to GNOME 3 not loading or showing a green screen. Searched here as well.
----- Found nothing. Still has a freaking green screen upon reboot of system (thankfully I have laptop here to use while trying to figure this out but damn, I am getting aggravated by this frustrating issue).
EDIT: Just in case it is relevant, I am using the inittab method of loading GDM.
EDIT 2: Forgot to add, I also removed all old instances of gconf and gconfd and such in an attempt to solve the green screen.
Defeated, I come here. Does anyone have any advise, suggestions, etc or does this spell the end of GNOME 3 on my computer?

    Greetings,
I have solved this issue. The conflict was with firefox4-beta-opensuse. I replaced it with firefox from the official repositories, and *poof*, I am now in Gnome3 with Gnome shell.
LOL, yeah I tried those things which is what led me to the answer. Actually, it was the lack of libmozjs.so anywhere on my system combined with a google search indicating that it was supposed to be in xulrunner, yet it wasn't. That is what led me to re-uploading firefox completely so that I could do away with the beta xulrunner.
Did you still need that pacman -Qm list? I am going to assume no since it is solved, but who knows, you may have seen something else in my pastebin report as well. Anyways thanks!

  • Remove Green Screen with Adobe Photoshop Elements

    Hi,
I have setup a Green Screen in my home. I took some pictures of my wife with the Green Screen Background and want to remove the Green Screen and replace with a different background. I was able to do this via the Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0 but need help with the Photoshop Elements.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Sridhar

FWIW, She is really easy to select on that green screen if you use a few tricks. The screen shots are in CS3 my preference but worked with Elements limitations to show you how easy she can be selected without any filters.
My end product doesn't look as good as Mark's though. That's a tough act to follow. Thought I'd post this anyway just in case you couldn't get that filter to work in Photoshop Elements 7,
First, make a copy of the image and desaturate it to make it black and white. I prefer using Hue/Saturation from the image menu (CTRL U) and moving desat slider down to -100. Next Invert it (CTRL I), then run levels from the image menu (CTRL L) to push the image towards pure white and black...well close. It should look something like this when these steps are done.
Copy this image to a new layer. (Just in case something goes wrong so you don't have to repeat the last steps). Leave the copy in Normal blend mode. Grab your paint brush tool. Set the brush tool's mode to Overlay blend mode. You will use black and white paint to push dark gray to black and light gray to white. When done, it should look something like this:
Not perfect...I did this really fast and was a bit sloppy and didn't get all of my light grays pushed to whites. Probably not a problem for the hair edges but would need to be fixed for face and body areas as this will be a mask to make the selection.
Select mask that was just made and copy it into your clipboard. Select<All; Edit<Copy. Create and adustment layer mask that has a mask. I used the Solid Color Fill Adjustment layer. Alt click the mask of the adjustment layer you created. It will turn the document white. This is because the mask is now the focus. Now paste. Edit<Paste. This will paste the above mask into the adjustment layer mask. Now, either alt click the mask or click on another layer to remove the focus from the mask. You'll use this adjustment layer as a base to a clipping mask. See next paragraph.
The Solid color fill layer (or whatever you picked) with your mask is going to be the base on which your selection will be built. Create a copy of your original image up above this base layer. Now, hold in the alt key and move your curser in the layers pallete to the line separating these two layers. Notice the cursor changes to an odd symbol...a solid ring and a hollow ring with an arrow. Click the palette on the line separating these two layers. (Release alt key when done.) She should now be covering the mask you created. Areas that are white in the adjustment layer mask will show the original image; areas in black in the adjustment layer mask will be transparent. (Areas that contain shades of gray would be semi-transparent...amount based on the gray's brightness value.)
For the green cast on the edges, I removed that by using a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer to remove the green spill over. If you only wanted to effect the girl and not a new background add it to clipping mask. (Same way...alt click the line between her image and the Hue/Saturation layer.)
Not perfect but this is what I came up with based on the above mask:

  • Using Green Screen tool after project roughcut complete

    Hi peeps,
I know how to use the Green Screen tool in iMovie but my problem is I want to apply it to a project which I have already edited. So the usual process is drag your background into project then drag your clip from events on top... but I have already painfully edited my project and want to apply a background to it minus the green screens, can it be done at this stage?
    cheers,
    BB.

Also, try looking up the term "garbage matte." It's relatively simple concept that can be executed using many different tools and levels of sophistication.
Here's my workflow for standard greenscreen work, stuff that isn't too action-oriented, similar to conventional weather presentations:
    1. Capture the footage in Final Cut Pro.
    2. Seldct the takes.
    3. IMport the best takes into After Effects.
    4. Apply masking to the video to remove as much unnecessary stuff as possible using as few vertices in the mask as possible.
    5. Apply Keylight.
    6. Export to ProRes4444.
    7. Import back into FCP.
Additional work might be required for wire or rig removal, rotoscoping for movement in front of or behind foreground objects, masking replacement layers to manage stupid costume errors like a green tie, light wrap, spill removal, reflection cancelation, shadow manipulation.

  • Green screen effect?

is there a way in lightroom to like erase the background. like selecting a certain color and replace it with another image? like a green screen effect? im asking for lightroom because the computers in the studio where i work uses that only from adobe

Lightroom does not support this type of image editing or anything remotely close to it, and I very much doubt that it ever will. I suggest that you have a look at Photoshop, which is also an Adobe product, and is capable of doing what you describe.

  • Exporting Green Screen as Transparent for Interactive PDF

I am running CS5 Indesign and Premiere Pro CS5
I have a coach on green screen and keyed out the green and have a black background. I am wanting to place the coach only into an Indesign file and have him floating in front of the eventual interactive PDF. I have tried exporting through FLV and enabling the alpha encoder but have not had any luck with it working. Am I missing steps or is there a seperate way to make a background transparent? Thanks!

    Todd
I am able to have footage behind my FLV when I import it. I used other footage and even a JPG to double check. The transparency is there it just doesn't export it seems like. I appreciate the help and any other help from other users. I guess the answer is with the interactive PDF and Indesign.
