Replacing HP C795TU TouchPad

Anyone know how to replace the touchpad and their buttons? Cant find any manual for it.

I'd suggest contacting HP support (1-800-474-6836) regarding something like this, however the service guide for your notebook is available and may help you out:

  • T60 Touchpad Replaced and not Working

I recently replaced my touchpad (palmrest) and plugged it in. I actually have to disable it in bios in order to use my trackpoint. I have the most recent drivers and utility for Ultra Nav.
When I select to activate my touchpad in the bios settings, I then get a warning triangle, and my trackpoint becomes "hidden" in the device manager and inoperable, I can't use it.
Any ideas on how to ge both working? I feel I am close!!

    Thanks for the reply,
The touchpad does show up in the bios, so I think the system board is whole, but who knows. I just tried to boot up with the trackpoint disabled and the touchpad automatic, and the problem I explained before where the device manager shows the ultranav pointing device with a warnign triangle and hidden. I think the synaptics driver files for the trackpoint are the same for the touchpad.
Is there way to test or check the system board?
Most diagnostic tests will be inconclusive. There are specific ways to test the system board, but it's not something you'd want to do, it would be far less work and cheaper to simply replace it then diagnose it, but getting back to your problem...   you didn't answer my question, so lets start from the beginning....
You replaced the palmrest/touchpad assembly...    Why?
Does the replacement have the same problem as the original?
If I wanted to dianose the problem I'd do it the fastest and cheapest way possible, by pluggin in a known good part and seeing if it works. That sure beats tracing and testing microscopic circuits for hours, something that lenovo repair centers don't even do, they simply replace parts. Used T60 parts are cheap, so whatever you may need shouldn't be a problem to get.
Regarding your drivers...   windows generic drivers will work, and I've never seen the problems you describe, but if you've installed improper drivers, it could have caused such a problem, but again, I really don't know what you did, or even what started all this and what problem you were trying to fix, but if you want to see if this problem is hardware or software, you can try booting from a Linux LiveCD, boot up with option to make no changes to your system and see if both trackpoint and touchpad work using Linux, if they do, then you have a driver problem, in which case I'd uninstall all mouse devices and reboot. Windows "should" enable generic mouse driver so you can use the system, then it would only be a matter of installing the proper drivers, , but do this AFTER you've determined it's software, not as a test, or you'd be likely to just complicate things even more.
You can get a Linux LiveCD at Ubuntu.com.

  • Pavillion G72 Synaptics TouchPad will not start from a restart or a cold bbot.

After the broken LCD screen was replaced the Synaptics TouchPad will not start up.  I deinstalled and reinstalled driver 15.3.29.0 downloaded from the HP driver web site.  The icon will not display.  In the ICon Notification Area settings, when I choose "show icon and notifications" the response is a message that the icon is inactive.
If I click on the the shortcut in the startup folder for SynTPEnh.exe the icon displays, disables the TouchPad becasue it detects the wireless mouse (as selected in the checkbox).  After a system restart or cold boot it does not run.
In System Configuration, whereas all programs start as C:\Program Files\... , the one for SynTPEnh.exe dislays as C:\PROGRA~1\SYNAPT...  Is this the problem/
I found the same at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run but editing that to match the other programs made no difference.
What do I need to do to make SynTPEnh.exe start up?
    Thank you

Running  OS Name    Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
    Version    6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
Note also that the Synaptics TouchPad is not listed on the Control Panel under Adjust Your Computer's Settings as.  Should show up as Synaptics TouchPad V7.5

I have updated my driver to the lastest driver (1.00C), and the button does not work to de-activate the Touchpad.  Please help.

You would have to replace the whole touchpad as there is a ribbon cable connected.  I feel you on the beer too, dropped a Miller Lite in my Macbook once, opps!

  • Erratic trackpad

    Hi
About a week ago I had an issue with my login password screen not coming on due to my mouse being on in my bag while I was booting up.  Switching off the mouse eventually solved the problem after I did a number of resets and safe mode boots. A week later My Macpro's trackpad cursor started jumping around erratically.  It settles down after a safe reboot but returns to jumping around when I restart.  There is no difference when I shut down the wireless connection and I disable bluetooth. It settles down if I connect an wireless mouse.

    Hi Mario,
Thanks for the reply.  I went through the suggested article as best I could before I posted without being able to resolve the problem.  After posting I shutdown my Pro for a day and found that it worked fine with a normal restart.  I subsequently took it to an Apple store where it checked out ok.  If the problem returns a reinstall of the software has been recommended.  Following that replacement of the touchpad, battery and key board will probably be required.  I will post again if the problem returns.  It's a bit unnerving working like this - hoping that the gremlin doesn't wake up at an inopportune critical time.
    Cheers
    Thomas

  • I-Trigue 3400 for the Zen Micro. When?

    Hey all,
Im just curious if there is any expected release date for the I-Trigue 3400/Vivid 80 that will "soon be available in a variety of models and styles"? Thanx in advance .

It's almost definatly a faulty player. Try a firmware update. Go into rescue mode by removing the battery and while replacing the battery holding the power switch in the on position. From there select Reload Firmware via USB. Be sure to download the firmware from the Creative site and I'd suggest using v.0.03.
If this doesn't resolve the issues than contact Creative Support or go back to the store for a return/replacement. The touchpad doesn't rely on pressure per se for movement detection so pressing really hard on the pad isn't something that is normal.

  • Touch pad not working on right side

    Hello @jgrier1,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that your printer is stuck on the maintenance mode and the touch pad is not responding.
    I would like to help.
I'm sorry but the display on the Officejet 6500A Plus, is not a user replaceable part.
Try going through the following document for the touchscreen.
It may also get you past the maintenance mode issue.

  • Macbook suffering insomnia

I've had a lot of luck with posting in these forums so thought I'd give it another go!
A while ago I had my 6 month old Macbook Pro sent in for repairs after the keyboard and touchpad died and the screen developed a funny blotch and had warped quite a bit. Luckily being in London I took it into the Oxford St store where I was told it would take up to a week to fix, however I was contacted by Apple the next day to tell me they had replaced the keyboard, touchpad and screen and it was ready to go. I was very impressed (under 12 hours!).
All is working well now except when I close the lid it doesn't go into sleep mode and the screen remains on, I know its not a huge thing but it does annoy me as it means I can no longer quickly shut it and go. Is there a setting I need to change or is it something that has occurred due to the repairs?
Hope someone can help I would really appreciate it,
    Many thanks,
    Daniel

Yeah it goes to sleep after a period and when told to, it is only when closing the lid that the screen doesn't automatically turn off and then sleep. I suspected something might have happened in repairs too.
Are there any preferences that alter whether a screen turns off when the lid closes?
    Thanks

  • OMG!!It wont turn o

OK. I have a zen micro, I used it in the morning then I went to sleep. I tried turning it on and it wouldnt! So I thought I mustve left it on and the battery prolly ran out. So I connected it to the charger then It turned on and I took the charger out. I figured out it wasnt the battery so after I listened to my music I wanted to turn it off and it wont! The top switch thing works only if you want to put it on hold. Im not sure what I should do! I dont want to take the battery out because I heard thats bad if you do it a lot. So what should I do!? The funny thing is that I just had it replaced because the touchpad didnt work. Please give me advice!

    hi
i also own a creative zen micro + the same thing has happened to me today!!! i took the battery out to switch it off + now i can only switch it on if i plug it in the computer!
i brought mine off ebay + have only had it for about 4 months! i dont have any proof of purchase!!!!
just wondering if you managed to sort yours out?!?!
    thanx
    Anita

  • Touchpad E520 replacement?

The touchpad is not working, does not recognize mouse movement nor left-right click and confirmed its not disabled, can the defective part be replaced and if so where might I purchase it?

    Hello Stuart
In my opinion best address for you is nearest Toshiba authorized service provider. They can obtain all hardware parts.
But the question is how to exchange all this without maintenance manuals?
Do you have experience with disassembling procedure?

  • Hi I have an HP touchpad with the extended replacement plan I can not get a hold of anyone.

My Hp touchpad battery is so low it will not turn on. I bought the replacement warranty I can not get ahold of anyone have been trying for a while.
    Thanks

Your post in the webOS Hardware and Software board was the correct place for this issue.  I'm merging this post into that thread, and hopefully it will get HP's attention.

    Hi,
According to a service manual, the touchpad is a part of the top cover. You have to replace whole top cover..
    Top cover part number: 496881-001
    Service manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01705400.pdf

If you dont understand exactly what I mean take a look at the picture and you will see/understand.

    thank you.

    Hi Loow,
Im sure its possible to replace the touchpad buttons because you can replace everything on a notebook. But I think its a little bit tricky because you have to disassemble a lot of parts and thats not easy.
You should ask an authorized service provider The guys can order new spare part for you and exchange it. Just write an email for example to get in contact with them.
You can find a list of ASPs here:
