Replacing images in Flash presentation but slideshow stays on first image

I have used this slideshow for few projects and all I've done in the past is import new images (about 100k) and publish.
The image are bit map of type (png) not big about 100k size.
Without saving the file I do a "test movie".
Instead of doing the slideshow it displays the first image but doesn't loop through the rest.
I'm at a bit at a lost here. The path to the image in bitmap properties on the origanal file in imported is relative but when I select a new image its full path. This my be a problem, my not.
Any help here is help.

There are likely hundreds of ways to design slideshows. How is your slideshow designed? What code does it use to loop thru images?

You can use CSS to make the other images retina. You need to downlaod the index.css file from the CSS folder then add code to it that has the width and height of the scaled down image like this:

Looks the trick would be to turn on Thumbnails, delete the image and turn it off.

Using button to hide an image but to stay on the slide, can do?

Hi,
I want to use a button to hide an image but WITHOUT closing the slide.
I have set it up slide with two images and a button which "hides" one of the images,but the project continues onto the next action.
I have tried No Action but as soon as I click the Hide button, the project continues onto the next slide.
If I wanted to open a url of file I would be given the ability to overide "continue playing project".
Is there anything I am missing to tell the button to not continue with the project but to stay on the
slide I am on.
I have also added a button with "continue" in the hope of holding the slide but no luck.

Hi there
I have done this using an Advanced action. Basically you do the hide and show using the Advanced Action then reposition the playhead. I put a sample up this morning that would probably illustrate this. You may download it at the link below. It has a link at the end that allows you to download the .CP file so you can pick it apart to see what I did.
The example was simply to illustrate making a button available after a check box was selected. Basically the "check box" is two images. One is hidden and the other shown. Even though it was created for a different purpose, it still holds substantial value for illustrating what you want to do.

Which version of the OS is installed, and which version are you trying to install?
You could try starting up with Startup Manager and see if it will allow you to select the OS X install disc as the startup disk. If so, maybe you can proceed from there. I would recommend repairing the hard drive first since you are evidently having a bit of a problem with it.

Replacing image and keeping existing action in Flash CS5.5

I'm updating an existing Flash swf file that was created using CS5.5. The only thing I have to do is replace the image used. When I import the new image it changes the action used with the existing image. How can I import the image I want to use AND keep the existing action that was used? Thanks for your help, but that didn't do any good either. I have been double clicking from the download files, double clicking on the "install adobe flash player", closing the anti virus, closing Safari, watching the install progress and clicking finish. It indicates that "flash player" is installed, but every time I try to view something requiring flash player, it tells me I must download it. It shows up in the "system preference" and from there I can make some changes, but it still won't let me view anything requiring "flash player". It does not show up in my apps like Adobe Reader does. It shows up in the "downloaded files" section of "Finder". I'm getting really perplexed over my inability to get this right.

Thumbnails present but not populated with photo's

Both the Events and Photo thumbnail boxes are all present but they don't include the photo's. When I open events all the photo boxes are visible - but empty. Trying to open a photo results in a "!" indicator. Over 6,000 images at stake, any help appreciated.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. The "!" means that the library has lost the file path to the original file. This happens when there has been an interruption to iPhoto while it is writing to it's database file, Library6.iPhoto. Moving, renaming files or folder inside the library package while in the Finder is another way you can get that indication. Try the three fixes below in order as needed:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the first three options.
2 - rebuild the library using iPhoto Library Manager as follows:

1 -Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 -Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your User/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File->Rebuild Library menu option
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: It may take some time to create the new library if you have a lot of photos. Report back on how long it took and how many photos you have in the library so we can give other users an idea of how long it may take.
3 - start over with a new library and import the Originals folder from your original library as follows:

Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
Open the library package like this.
Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library if you have the Finder checkbox unchecked in the Events preference pane.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Automatically Replacing Images Without Losing Previous Image's Action

I've created updated versions of some images in a Keynote presentation, but the images they replace have actions assigned to them. Is it possible to update a pre-existing image so the updated version retains any actions?

You have two options for this. The best option is to define the image as a media placeholder. Go to Format>Advanced>Define as Media Placeholder. Then you can change images and keep all actions.
The other option is if you have saved your Keynote as a package, you can right click the icon and choose show package contents. Then make sure the new images are the exact same name as the ones you wish to change and drag them into the folder. You be asked if you want to replace the file already named --- and click yes. Keynote will then change the old picture with the new one. I would only use this option if you are changing a lot of images at once and it is too time consuming to use the other method.

Possible to Stream a Flash Presentation?

are creating some huge flash presentations. I know that flash is
remarkably fast when it comes to downloading, but with these large
presentations it's still taking some time. Is it possible to
stream a flash presentation? Compress the audio? Any other
ideas?

Never seen TGotoFrame, but there is GotoFrame() and Play(),
which has worked
well for me. Here's a function I've used to change videos in

Problems using Flash Presentation / Slide with IE

I have created a slideshow using the Flash presentation /
slide component. All images are the same size. When the movie loads
in Firefox, the slide show works fine. However in IE, the first
image is loaded off center. The top left corner of the image is
placed in the center of the screen. All subsequent images load
fine. This is an intermittent problem as it does not happen all the
time.
Has anyone seen this problem and know of a solution.

Batch Replace Images

I have been working on a project that requires a slide presentation consisting solely of a number of .psd images. While waiting for one final asset from the client, I decided to go ahead and throw together the presentation in Keynote, thinking I could just update the .psd images easily after I finished editing them with the final asset. However, to my dismay, I have learned that Keynote isn't intelligent in this regard to realize when I have updated assets used by it, nor does it give me any tools to accomplish the task of updating an image short of recreating the entire project.
Is there a way to batch replace images used by Keynote? This seems like an incredibly simple workflow task, but it seems there is no simple way to do it. I found one other thread that suggested looking at the package contents of my .key document, but that doesn't seem to work anymore - the option to view package contents doesn't show up on my context menu.
I'm going to go ahead and spend the hour recreating this document, but it would be nice to know the answer to this question for future reference! This is something I know even PowerPoint can accomplish... :/

Welcome to the forums!
Keynote files are still packages, but the default behaviour for Keynote is to compress them as a ZIP file. If you change the file extension from .key to .zip, then uncompress the result, you will get a folder with the package contents, including the images. To make this back into a standard package, just add the .key extension to the folder (to get the compressed package, first compress the folder, then add the .key).
You can control whether a package is stored as a single compressed file or not in the Keynote Preferences.

Muse Replace Image (Shoot It Template)

I am trying to replace the first image (see below) with right click on mouse and select ''replace image''. The little image (shoes) is been replacing in the widget but the bigger image is not. I am replacing because I want to keep the widget photo configuration like for example shrink the photo when you make smaller the internet explorer.
What I am doing wrong, any help will be appreciated.

Hello,
You can try doing the same (Right click-->Replace image) separately for the bigger image as well. In Muse slideshows, you need to replace the thumbnail images and the bigger images separately.
Also, the responsiveness of the widget should still remain intact after replacing the image.

Video in flash presentation isn't playing ball...:(

Hi guys and gals,
I am creating a flash presentation for something that I'm doing at university on Friday, and the video is the only thing in the presentation that isn't working. Could I get some help with this please?
Right, here's what is happening:
The presentation I have some words, music and video and the words and music are playing fine (but the music and video are on the FLVPlayback thing so I think that's causing a problem, but I can't see how I can separate them) and the video comes into play. When I put the actionscript - stop() - at one bit of the presentation, nothing plays afterwards, and I'm wanting the whole thing to stop at the end of the music, and when a line of the presentation to come up (which is the last line) and then the video is just the one thing that is playing, along with this line which is stationary under the video.
I've used Flash before, but not with sound or video as I had no call for it, but now I do its not working. I've used the video tutorials to see if I am doing it right, and according to them, I am.
This flash presentation is not for a website, just for showing at a event.
If you'd like a bit more explanation, then just say and I'll do my best to make it clearer.

Sorry to bother you. But, I'm still having problems. I've separated the file, and put it in its own folder and then tried to see if it works then. And it plays the sound but no picture. The video extension is .f4v, so as you've said, it should work...but I don't understand why it doesn't

I downloaded a Flash project from

still tries to
access port 8080! Obsiously, my replace command did not do
what I thought it
would do. I opened the FLA file in a binary editor, and saw 4
more
references to 8080, One if them in 'Properties' of a
WebServicesConnector,
but I cannot figure out how to find the other occurences.
Checking on google, I see lots of people having similar
problems, but no
solutions
Any ideas?

That's really odd, actually. I'm on these boards every day,
and I've
never heard of this issue. I don't *think* the Find/Replace
dialog visits
panel contents, such as the Component Inspector panel, but I
wouldn't swear
to that.

Well, Flash is a professional IDE, of course. By definition,
if you pay
for something, you have acquired a professional product or
service. I know
what you mean, though. Flash itself rocks, but the Actions
panel can be
glaringly weak. Personally, I use SE|PY to edit ActionScript.
