Replacing my dv6-1260se power supply, need help.

I am in need of a new power supply for my laptop and was wondering which one would be the best.  i believe my options are the 90w smart ac power adapter and the slim power adapter.  any suggestions?

So what's the issue you're having?
I have never heard that rumor, a volt is a volt, an watt is a watt.

ok, i've calmed down now and i think everythings sorted. all my files are still there and all applications, the ?'s just needed clicking on in the dock. i found it strange and wondered why my background changed. it's not a big deal, i just changed it straight back, but it made me think if that changed to default what other settings have changed to default? i've only had my mac a week or so, so i can't remember changing anything drastic, so this shouldn't really be a problem.
thanks alot for all the help, i'll know where to come next time i have any trouble. i love knowing that mac's have a good community of people willing to help each other out.

  • MEGA PC 651 Power Supply Needed

Hi wonder if anyone can help. My power supplys fan has died so the system is getting quite warm shall we say (about 52oC normal).
I need to replace this asap and reading this forum there are problems at to extra conections for the HIFI in off mode.
I actually dont use the radio or DVD player in off mode so i am not bothered about these conections.
Anyone know of a UK available power supply that i can replace this defective one with.??

Sorry didnt make it clear. The fan does work if i connect it to a 12v supply, but the internal board in the Power Supply isnt powering the fan.
Got round this by, detaching the fan from the power supply, and splicing it nto a motherboard power connector. Now when i turn it on the power supply re supplies the internal fan from outside supply.

  • 3400 i-trigue speaker power cord: Need Help!

I have 3400 i-trigue speakers. I got the speakers a year and a half ago, and Creative is still selling them. I lost the power cord- the cord that plugs the subwoofer into the wall (2 volt 4.2 amp). Creative has been "out of stock" of a replacement cord since early May, and one honest customer service employee told me that they likely will not be getting anymore back in. I cannot find a replacement cord anywhere online or at an electronics store like Radio Shack. I am not an electronics expert, and I don't know what to do. (Creative Labs has NOT been very helpful). I desperately need this $2 cord, but it seems my only option is to buy a new set of speakers. Help!

It would be better to buy a US powercord and then a plug adapter for Australia but you could use an Australian adapter with a US plug adapter. The power "brick" is the same and handles input from 100 to 240 volts so works anywhere in the world; you just have to get it plugged in to the local power supply. When you say the cord broke I guess I am thinking you mean the power brick broke; if not you can just get the part of the adapter (cord) that runs from the brick to the wall at the equivalent of a Radio Shack in Australia then get a US one when you get back.

  • Pavilion DV6 1311el power supply ok, power led does not light up

I own a dv6 notebook model 1311el that works just fine with a charged battery but it wont accept charge from the charger. The led next to the power jack does not light up, i have removed the power button bezel and keyboard and then i used a multimeter to measure the voltage between the wires of the power jack cord and there were 19.5 and 15 volts as it should... I am sure that the power supply works because i gave it to a friend of mine which has the same hp model.

    Hello Nessuno,
I see your AC adapter is not charging your HP Pavilion dv6-1311el Entertainment Notebook, your battery indicator LED is not lit. I would like you to start here, this will help you determine if it is the battery or the power supply: Battery Does not Power Notebook or Hold a Charge.
A battery that does not charge might be the result of a power adapter failure, a system board failure, or a battery failure. Please perform the steps listed in the troubleshooting document in order to diagnose the failure.
    I hope this is helpful.

  • Power supply needed

I need the part number and/or specs. for a power supply to fit Creative Lab speakers SBS5. They are a 2 speaker system w/out subwoofer. Anybody have any idea?

    Roger
Ihave a Tagan 580w U22 with switchable dual/combined +12v rails and it is very stable, set it combined for 35a.
Only thing to ponder was the 4/8 pin +12v/p4 connector, power supply has the correct split 2x4pin connectors so does the board but there is a little removable cover over 4 pins,so thinking MSI fitted it there for a reason I have fitted only one 4 pin connector,no problems as yet.
Think you may well have a point re the 18a.
I have just given my son my old sli platinum/cpu/heatsink/ram/vga card, this setup ran  250/11/4 @ 1.4v & ram 2.5 3 3 7 1.1 @ 2.75v with the Tagan.this setup now fitted in his case but with a dual 18a rail Enermax and he can't o/c stable to the old settings.Case has better cooling than the wavemaster it all came from.
Dont think the enermax is bad just that it supplies the power a different way.

  • Min power supply needed to make Aiport Express work ?

    Hi all,
I plan to install an Aiport Express in my car to plug it to my car stereo in order to be able to use my Iphone 3GS music library.
First, I'm tired to use cables !
Furthermore, my car OS (vauxhall) is not anymore a "compatible device" (sic), even with the latest iOS ... but I've got a jack plug :-/
I plan to plug the Aiport Express to my car stereo throught this jack, and broadcast my music throught airplay. The Airport Express would be electrically powered throught the cigar lighter receptacle, or throught a 12v-220v converter (I'd rather prefer the first solution !).
So here is my question : what is the minimal power supply to make work the airport express ? According specs, 12Vdc 1.8A => ~22W ?
Does somebody can confirm 22W would be enought to make the Aiport Express work ?
    Thanks a lot !

I'm referring Airport EXPRESS ... I forgot that plugs directly ...
The exterme offers other possibilities I don't need ... and is less affordable !
In a car, we only avec DC =>
So I must have  a 12 Volt DC to 220 Volt 50Hz AC inverter, delivering at least 200mA(AC).
Something like this or rather this.
I should find it in a good electronic shop, and this kind of material should be rather small.
I'll also check if these devices provide AirPlay without a wi-fi network... or if somebody can here infirm or confirm  ?
    Thanks

  • Power supply needed for MS-7220 (Diamond Plus) and others.

The following statement is taken form the K8B Diamond Plus Manual.
For ATX 12V power connection, it should be greater than 18A.
If I am interpreting correctly, the ATX 12V connector should have dedicated to it a minimum of 18A.
My first, question is if the Power Supply has two or more rails, how do you know the power dedicated to the ATX 12 connector on the Power Supply?
Second, if a +12V rail is not dedicated the connector, how do you know what is connected to each rail of the Power Supply?
This maybe the source of why many are saying, they have more stable system performance when using single rail Power Supplies.
I have tried eleven different manufactures to get more detailed Power Supply specifications, but no responses; today through February 1st is the Chinese New Year.
Those of you running the K8B Diamond Plus, what are you using for Power Supplies and are you having any instability problem?
One thing I did find curious was that going the manuals and in most all of the newer Socket 939 motherboards have this specification, but nothing in the motherboards specifications of on the MSI Web Site about this required and the are a lot of 500-600 Watt power supplies sold that do not meet this specification.
The statement Total Wattage does not mean a thing has even more meaning to me now.
Are we going to have to know the Current Rating of each cable on the output of a Power Supply now to insure we are purchasing the correct Power Supply?

  • Blinking Red Power Light Need Help With Self Repair

I have a rear projection 57 inch TV, model number 57H84R and whenever I try and turn it on all I get is a blinking red power light.  I've seen online where it might be a fuse in it but when I called customer support they told be it was a board.  I don't have the manual anymore and i've read it is needed to try to repair it myself.  I've anyone had any advice on where to start at or any place online that would be helpful in trying to fix it myself would be appreciated. My e-mail address is [email protected], thank you.

When you moved in January, how long was the Mac not connected to AC power? You could have a weak PRAM memory battery. Have you tried zapping PRAM? See Mac PRAM, NVRAM, CUDA/PMU & Battery Tutorial

  • Ac adaptor power supply needed

    I need heeeelp
    I have 5.1 PCWorks LX520 speaker , & it's ac adaptor doesn't work
& I searched for alternatives for it put I didn't find any ,
    Its details :
    2 V , 200 Am ,,, 230 V
    it's the same as inspire models [2.1 & 4.1 ]
I live in egypt , how can I get it ?

i also had the same problem?and then after a bit of research i found that AC is not neccessary ! even if you provide it with dc voltage or some other transformer of 2 volt then also it will work.
i have tested mine with my car battery aswell as the charger of remote control car (toy).
remember positive and negative does not matter bcz the bridge rectifier installed in your speakers can easily pass dc current?of any direction.

Give the above number a call, and they will arrange something for you. They will probably

  • Hi I m in big problem a cd was stuck in my macbook 2009 white unibody and it suddenly died but now any how the cd is out but it is not powering up I have tried to rest smc and pram and nvram no sound no display only fan work on power on need help

I m not sure about os version

Startup your Mac while holding down the C key and inserting your install disc at the same time.
From there you should be able to use the Disk Utility app to repair the startup disk and reinstall OS X.
If that won't work, when you boot your Mac normally, if you do not hear the startup chime, that means your Mac has not passed it's startup diagnostics test. If that is the case, you need to take your Mac in for service.

  • IPod Nano 4 Gb: Fire wire message on the display + no power off: need help

I have a new iPod 4Gb since a month until now not able to optimize the usage. The iPod keep on displaying the following message (after reset and update of the software):
"FireWire Connections are not supported. To transfer songs. Connect the USB cable provided. Press center to dismiss"
When I push the Dismiss buttom immidiatly the message pops up again. After reset at the PC site still the same.
Additional to this problem I can not swith the dam thing off. The Pause/Play buttom is not reacting. We use the iPod and Ipod shuffle in our Quality assurance test enviroment.
Start and stop a song is no problem.
      Windows 2000

I would make sure your PC doesn't have any viruses on it. Then bring your iPod in to the apple store to have them check it out. May be just a simple fix or you got a bad iPod. Doesn't happen that often but with any piece of hardware it can happen.
