Replacing my iMac with a newer one

At the moment, I have a 24" iMac from late 2006. I am thinking of buying one of the new 27" iMacs and was wondering if I should go with the maximum RAM (16GB), or buy one with 4GB and then buy the additional 12GB RAM seperately maybe at a lower price? I do a lot of audio editing and have noticed that under Lion I am struggling with opening more than 3 programs at a time. The spiniing pizza ball appears more often.
Looking forward to what direction would be best for me to go. As far as internal HD, I was thinking of maybe a 2-3TB drive because I would like also to be able to triple boot into Windows 7 and Linux as well.

Specs look good to me Do you think you will need 16G? i have 8G installed in my one and its lightning fast and thats using music and video apps, if you have the cash for the 16G then go for it!
I can't beleive that in 1988 I bought an external 20MB drive. Yes 20MB!! for around $1500 dollars. It was a Jasmine drive. The prices these days are amazing!!

You can only obtain warranty OR post warranty service in the country of original purchase
As your iPhone has user damage it has no warranty
IF the iPhone originated from Spain or another EU country you can get out of warranty service in any EU country

I think I am following -- I was able to upload to my iPhoto and all photos and videos are there that is a plus! I tried to create an Event in my iPhoto and put all of my photos in that event but for some reason, now my iTunes it not recognizing that Event in my iPhoto. It is not allowing me to import just that event at the moment but I may be doing something wrong. At least all of my pics and vids are in iPhoto so that is a plus and I know they are at least saved somewhere. Just for some reason, my iTunes it not locating the event that I created with only those photos.

Also, I had no clue that my iCloud could be backed up via cellular data! However, is this a new feature with the most updated iOS?? Unforutnatly I am like 2 iOS updates behind because I don't have enough storage on my phone. I still get the notification that my phone needs to be plugged in and connected to wifi in order to back up to the cloud :-(
How can I sync using USB? Right now when i click on the info tab for my iPhone in my iTunes this is the answer that I get -- I am a little unclear as to what it means.

If I replace my old iMac with a new one can I burn DVDs on an external drive using Mountain Lion or Toast?

My 2006 iMac is getting a bit long in the tooth and I was thinking of replacing it with a new one. However, Mac have not included an optical drive and I back up my photographs on DVD as well as external hard drives. I also supply DVDs of my work to friends etc.
Will I be able to burn to an external drive using Mountain Lion or other software such as Toast? Does the burn option still exist on the new machines?

Networking my old iMac with my new one

I would like to connect my old "Lampshade" iMac G4 with my new one, which has a 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. I basically want to connect a 2001 iMac with a 2008. I was told I could connect it via Firewire (400 to 800 or 800 to 800???). I'm a bit confused.

depends on what ports are available. if the old Mac has a FW 400 port, you need an adapter or a FW 400/800 cable.

1 - Do you really mean using another software to organize your workflow ?
2 - Do you mean using other softwares based on folders rather than databases ?
3 - Or do you mean working with different catalogs ?
If you don't want to use the Organizer, it's not possible to 'delete' it, but it is simple not to use it.
Most other organizing solutions include the choice of selecting PSE editor as the external editor
There are various solutions depending on your platform : Windows, Mac, Linux...
It's important to know if you prefer the folders or database organization to suggest possible solutions.

Replacing old photo with a new one

A few years back I imported some of my photos off of a photo cd that came with my prints. Now I am scanning the negs at a higher resolution than they supplied on the photo cd. My question is.. is there anyway to replace the old photos with the new photos so that all of my faces, places, dates, keywords etc. will remain intact?

Also make sure you've renamed the new file exactly the same as the old file, same case, format, etc.

I was just wondering if i bought the imac with a 2.5ghz quad core processor if apple could switch out that processor with a 3.4 ghz quad core processor. I understand apple makes it easy for the user to add extra ram and i will be doing that within the first week but id like to have a more powerful processor without paying 1,999 for the 27in 3.1ghz

I accidentally REPLACED my website with a new one.

My goal is to have 2 separate sites. I named them differently in the site organizer and stupidly thought that it wouldn't publish over my existing site.
Can someone help me recover my site or do I have to build it again?

When you open the iWeb application, do you still see both sites?
If you do, and if you want people to be able to access each site from your short url, here's what I suggest:
In iWeb, create a new site and drag it to the top of the site organizer column.
(name it "MySiteIndex" or something similar)
Choose a simple page template
Add to photos to the page, each one representative of one of your sites
Make each photo a hyperlink, one to the first page of each site.
Add two text boxes, one under each photo, each with the name of one of the sites. You may want to make these hyperlinks also
Publish to .mac
You site index is now what shows up at your short url (If this is not the case, clear your browser cache).

Will apple replace my phone with a new one?

I have always noticed since the day I got my 3g- sometime the seccond week it came out-that it had the problem of "light leak.". I just did not know it was a problem until today when I was searching for articles about my iPhone 3g dead pixel which I noticed yesterday. I think it's a dead pixel-black/grayish and looks like dust or eraser shaving under screen. I also have a couple of stuck pixels-green dots. Anyway, the pixel problems are very anoying to me. If I make an appointment with the apple retail store genius bar close to where I live, will apple fix my phone, give me a refurbished phone, or give me a brand new phone? I know the 3g s is comming out in a few days, but I am not looking for my current 3g to be replaced with a 3g s, just a new normal 3g. Any ideas on what would happen?

Every warranty claim is on a case by case basis. If someone here tells you that their iPhone was exchanged under warranty with the same problem as you described doesn't mean that Apple will do the same in your case. All you can do is make an appointment and see what they say after your iPhone is inspected and tested. If your iPhone is exchanged under warranty, you would not receive an iPhone 3GS as the exchange if requested.
Per the written warranty, an exchange under warranty will be a new or refurbished iPhone without you being able to tell the difference.

I don't understand the question. What do you mean by "on what reasons"? Are you having problems with an iPod touch? If so, describe the problems and someone here can either offer suggestions for solving them or point you to the appropriate resources for addressing your issue.
