Replacing my stolen Nano 2nd Gen with a used Nano 3rd Gen

Someone stole my Nano. My kind brother in law has offered me his 3rd gen nano to replace it.
How, precisely, do I synch this used Nano with my iTunes so I don't hopelessly screw up my music and successfully get it onto the new/used Nano?

First, you will have to restore it via iTunes. This will wipe all the content currently on it and set it back to its original default settings.

From there you will go through the basic set up process and configure your iPod to sync however you wish. Then you should be on your way and good to go.

I have an ipod nano 2nd generation with a non responsive click wheel. I have fully charged it tried resetting it and on two different computers with the latest iTunes I have restored it with the latest firmware then moved it to hold and off hold held in the menue button and select button for 10 seconds but all I get is a screen where I select the language but cant get any response from the scroll wheel.
The hold button is working (I see the lock icon go on and off) I have done the restore procedure and then reset many times but no good I am wondering if I should open it up and disconnect the battery for 30 seconds.

You need a newer model iPod, a 4G or 5G. The 2G can only go to iOS 4.2.1

Weird problem with the apple tv (3rd gen) playing choppy iTunes Music

I have a weird problem with the apple tv(3rd gen) when i use my macbook pro to play itunes music via airplay the music is extremely choppy however that only happens if I have both my mac and apple tv connected to the same 5 ghz band on my dual band wifi network if i switch either one of my mac or apple tv to the 2.4 ghz band it works fine. I would like to find a solution instead of having to do this work around because i prefer my 5 ghz band for both my mac and apple tv and have my other things connected to my 2.4 ghz.

5 GHz, so far as I'm aware transfers no more data than 2.4 Ghz. There are other things involved that might help data through volume such as the wifi standard or dual width channels, but essentially if you compare like for like they are they same for the amount of data they can send. The main advantage of 5GHz is that it's less susceptible to interference and potentially more private.
It's possible that you have different issues on each band, I couldn't say at this time but have you checked for interference.

Now when turn it ON, it showed green light for two-three seconds after charging it in computer for 20 minutes and then nothing. It does not play anything, nothing hears after pressing any button. 1. If the device was wet you should not have turned it on or connected it to the computer, as you may have caused more damage.
2. Let the iPod dry out fully. To help it do this, store it in a sealed container with some dry rice. The rice will absorb the water from the iPod, leave it at least 3-4 days before you try it again.

Transfer the music into iTunes on your computer and then sync the new iPad with iTunes.

I have exactly the same problem. I have tried almost everything and I am nowhere near an Apple shop as I am working in Africa.

If they still have iPods in stock of the older generation, you will get one of these; the color may vary, but other specifications should be the same. If not, you will most likely get a current model.
You may want to find someone willing to purchase that iPod, and then put the money toward a current one.

so my question is can a 2nd gen digitizer and glass be used to fix a 3rd gen? Are the 2nd and 3rd the same screen?

LCD stands for Liqued Crystal Display and isn't the problem.

Using a Composite AV Cable with an iPod Touch (3rd Gen)

I recently purchased a Composite AV Cable from the Apple Store in order to watch video I have rented from iTunes on my iPod Touch to my Sony Television. However, when I connect the cables up as per the cable instructions and play the video from the iPod, nothing happens !
Are there any settings I need to change on my iPod. The manual states there is a "TV Out" option on the Settings menu ....however that does not appear on my iPod.
Can anyone please help me ????

- my iPod Touch is a 3rd gen so I referred to that guide, but have upgraded software on it to iOS5.1... so that may explain why the TV Out option has disappeared.
- I normally use the AV leads for my Wii into my TV, and so have taken those out and put the Apple leads in then gone to the "game" input screen option I normally use for the Wii. I then connect the iPod Touch to the composite lead, and then press play on the video. The screen is black with no sound !
- I have a portable TV I can test if it has the AV lead input sockets.

Need help with a dropped itouch 3rd gen

my daughter dropped her 3rd gen ipod touch and then it would not come on.
i tried everything i could think of. i even went as far as replacing the Lcd screen thinking it was damaged.
that did not work either.
i did notice that when i plug it in to be charged, it gets hot on the upper left corner in the back.
could the mean something that i overlooked, or is that typical?
any help would be greatful.

TS3972 How can I access the files(movies,music,etc) in my Apple Time Capsule(4th Gen) from my Apple TV(3rd Gen). This is very frustrating Apple has not provided a basic feature, and me buying the Time Capsule and Apple TV is an complete waste of bucks.

The Time Capsule is clearly announced as a router with a hard drive to make backups, not to store anything and share it with your Apple TV.
To access to movies and music from the Time Capsule, note that the Apple TV can only access to them if they are stored in your iTunes library, so you will have to put your movies and music into iTunes to access to them, and then, put your iTunes library on the Time Capsule in order to access to your data from there

Does anyone know if a 4th gen battery will fit in 3rd gen?

Can anyone help me out here? I have a 15GB 3rd Gen iPod and its battery life is just evil, so i wanna change the battery pack to a 4th Gen which has 12hours (or 15 if i use the latest one), but i dont know if it will fit AND work properly with the older model....its no use if it malfunctions. The batteries will of course be correctly sized to fit into a 3G iPod. No hammer, shoehorn or debigulator necessary.

How to run games on ipod nano 2nd generation with firmware 1.1.1

Does anyone know if you can run games on the 2nd generation ipod nano with the latest firmware of 1.1.1 when the itunes store with games wants the system to have firmware 1.2.
This means that the games must only work on 1st generation ipods or that 2nd generation ipod nanos do not need this level of firmware.
Games are not loading on my ipod.
Any advice?

Nope, sorry but games are currently only supported on the 5th Generation (video) iPods. Also the 1.2 firmware is only for the 5th Generation iPods.
