Replacment Stand for Sony Bravia TV

Mounted the tv onto a stand a long time ago and lost the base. Getting rid of the stand, but obviously can't use the tv now unless I walk mount it. So need a replacement stand for my Sony Bravia 47" tv. Any suggestions?

  • INF monitor file for SONY Bravia HDTV (W510 DP-HDMI) for Windows 7.

    Hello everybody,
Does anybody has a INF monitor file (or driver) for SONY's Bravia television sets? Mine is KDL40-XBR2 and by default is using the "Generic PnP Monitor" driver which is pretty lousy... the text is pretty bad and the quality is worse than using the VGA port of the laptop.
I need something specific for SONY but they don's support their line of TVs... I wasn't able to find anything on the net.
    Thanks.

Of course, SONY is not providing generic INF monitor files for their line of LCDTV's... no wonder they are going down!

  • Unsupported output signal for Sony Bravia KLV-32T550A

I have a mac mini 2007 running 10.6.3. I am trying to connect to a sony bravia KLV-32T550A either through VGA or DVI. Both keep coming up with error message (unsupported output signal, adjust your pc signal)
I have updated setting on the TV as per some forums I have read so am sure its not the TV.
Now the TV says the native resolution is 1366 x 768 but there is no exact match in display settings. Could this be the problems.
I have read that i can download switchresx and this should fix the problem.
Can anyone shed any light on this it would be much appreciated>
    Thanks

Definitely the second computer can be a big help. If you set up Screen Sharing between the two so that the mini's screen is shared over to the MacBook, you will be able to see the mini's screen on the MacBook even though the display connected to the mini is dark. And from the MacBook you will even be able to control the mini, so you can go into Displays Preferences on the mini and make alternate selections for resolution and, if necessary, refresh rate. Hopefully you will hit on a combination that will light up the mini's attached display.

  • Firmware for Sony Bravia. What?

I was planning to buy a Sony Bravia LCD HDTV, 32" from Best Buy.  I was reading the reviews and a lot of owners are saying that I would need a Sony "firmware update for video/audio" that can be downloaded from Sony.  What exactly are they talking about?  I'm not too TV/computer literate, and downloading/ flashplayer firmware might not be something that I would want to tangle with.
Thanks in advance  for information about this issue.

Since alot of the new tvs have what were once computer components within them, such as mother boards, the component may be in need of updates in order for the tv to run properly. The manufacturers will create these updates in order to keep your tv running at its best. The updates are to keep your tvs operations running smoothly. There are also firmware updates for certain blu-ray disc players as well.
The updating of the firmware on the tv can be fairly simple if you have a newer computer/laptop that has an easily accessible usb port. You would check the tv manufacturer's website for any firmware updates listed under your tv model number and if you were to find an update available download it onto a flash drive and connect the flash drive to the usb port on the tv. From there you would go through a few menus in order to get the update to load onto the tv.
Manufacturer customer support can often walk you through applying the updates to the tv.
    Hope this answers your question.

  • Apple TV or Sony Wifi Dongle for Sony Bravia TV??

    Hi,
I have just recently bought a Sony Bravia 40" TV.  To access the internet capabilities i need a Sony Wifi Dongle.
I already have a Macbook Pro and 2 iPhones that are used within the house on the wireless network.  Was wondering if i should get the Sony Wifi Dongle or skip that and get Apple TV which is about the same price??
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks
    Andrew

I have a similar set up.  However, before getting my ATV3, I had gotten a
ZyXEL 300 Mbps Wireless N Access Point, Ethernet Client, Universal Repeater, and Range Extender (WAP3205) to use as a wireless Ethernet bridge to my TV.  It's about 1/2 the price of the ATV, but it is only a bridge--no subscription service, etc.
Having said that, the ATV is amazing!  The only shortcoming is that it doesn't offer Hulu Plus service at this time.  The upside is that you will be able to access services through your iPhone and mirror them to your TV through your ATV--and you can get app on your iPhone.  (Lastly, you WILL eventually succumb and get the ATV.)
    Hope that helps your decision.
(BTW, I did not hook the ZyXEL directly to my Sony Bravia, but to my Sony Blu-ray player.)

  • Identifying replacement screws for Sony laptop

I've got a Sony svF15215CXB laptop whose two longest screws (the big ones right beside the the screen hinges) have fallen out. The laptop still works fine, but is fairly loose. I've done some research but have not been able to find a manual that shows the type and position of screws on the laptop. There's a Sony manual on the website that has basic parts (e.g. hard drive, disk drive), but no screws, and there are replacement part vendors that provide lists of screws but no way to distinguish them (beyond part number). I've called Sony and they recommended I go to a Best Buy. Unfortunately, there's none in the area.  All this to say, how do you identify screws by their part number? In this case, I just need to find the longest from this list: A-1946-100-A Screw M2*3-i(bni)(nylok)iron YA-1958-292-A Q Special Appear M1.6x3(ni)(ny  A-1968-049-A Q Special Appear M2x1_7 Bzn Ny  A-1958-336-A Q Special Appear M2x3.5bni Nyl  A-1958-290-A Q Special Appear M2x5.5(ni)(ny  A-1958-291-A Q Special Appear M2x7(ni)(nyl)  A-1946-203-A Screw M2*2 I(bni-3c)iron  A-1946-214-A Screw M2*2-i(bni)iron  A-1948-361-A Screw M2*3i(bni)(nylok)iron  A-1946-094-A Screw M2*4 -I(ni-3c)nylok)iron  A-1946-097-A Screw M2*8-i(ni)(nylock)iron  A-1946-092-A Screw M3*3.5 I(ni-3c)iron Alternatively, is there an in-depth Sony manual that's provided to computer repair folks (e.g. Best Buy) that I could get my hands on? I have no problem with DIY repairs but just don't know where to start. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks much, - Micah

    Hi micahjm,
    Welcome to Sony Community!
I also have limited information about the your concern. Service manual is a condifential file of Sony. I tried to search using the tool the we usually use and here's I got:
    Hinges - Suffix-01
    Screws - A-1946-100-A
And it did match the first part number on your list. Unfortunately, I cannot provide any service manual for your unit, as I've mentioned that I have limited info especially for service manual.
    Hope this help.
    Best regards,
    Vincent

  • DVI to VGA or DVI to HDMI for Sony Bravia

I have a 52" Bravia HDTV that i have hooked up to my Mac Pro (with NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT video card) . I bought a DVI to VGA adapter since teh Bravia doesnt have a DVI port, but has a "PC" port. All my friends tell me to use "DVI to HDMI" better. What are the advantages? i am asking because the screen looks great with the VGA connection .I just watched several HD trailers for different movies on the Bravia and they look REALLY HD and clean. So is it really going to look even better ? or is there another advantage to using HDMI ? Thanks
a side question, when i restarted my Mac Pro that had the Bravia and the mac display hooked up , the display was blinking on startup (where it keeps flashing a light blue screen) until i restarted it again . What happened ?

The HDMI port can give sharper vertical edges, but some TVs don't work well with computers via HDMI. The only way to tell is to try it.

  • Where can I buy a replacement stand for external iSight?

I've found the Sightflex/iFlex on Amazon.com, but the product cannot be shipped to Canada. I just got an iSight off eBay, but can't use it until I get a stand

    jaruzek wrote:
Unless I've been using the wrong search terms on eBay, no I have not. Results always include the camera itself (which I already have).
The link you sent me was last updated in 2006, so it didn't help too much, but thanks.
If anyone knows where to get something like a SightFlex, that'd be awesome. I'm not beyond DIY either.
I found a few using keywords "iSight Mounts." (w/o the quotes)

  • How do connect my sony bravia tv as a monitor screen for mac pro

How do I connect my Sony Bravia tv as a monitor for my MacBook Pro? I have an hdmi lead with an adapter to the computer and get a picture of factory setting cosmos with some of the folders of my desktop going off the side of the tv screen.

If you have the right cable, and have set the right input on your Sony, then you need to adjust one thing.  Go to System Preferences>Displays>Set Mirroring.  I think you've got it set to Extended desktop, which means the Sony is just a HUGE extension of your Mac OSX desktop.
    That should fix your issue.

  • Optical or analog cable for connecting Macbook 1,1 to Sony Bravia

    Hello
I have found a mini-DVI to HDMI adapter (plus HDMI cable) to take the video  from a Macbook 1,1 (all white) to a Sony Bravia TV. Now I need to find the right cable to carry the audio from the Macbook to the Sony Bravia. The Macbook has an optical (digital) audio socket (output?) and the Sony Bravia has 3 HDMI ports and 5 apparent audio jack ports (no idea whether they are 2.5 or 3.5 mm and whether they are analogue or digital). Please could someone advise me which or what sort of audio cable I should buy.
    Here are the Mac specs.
    file:///Users/joylaw/Desktop/Picture%201.png
    file:///Users/joylaw/Desktop/Picture%202.png
Many thanks for any and all help

OK. So I now have the sound connection working. The 3.5mm jack from the audio cable goes  into the headphone socket, NOT the optical (digital) audio socket on the Macbook, and the red and white jacks go into the respective red and white sockets (surprise, surprise) on the back of the Sony Bravia. I select 'Comp" as the input audio source in the TV settings, and the audio from the computer is broadcast perfectly from the TV internal speakers.
I am now waiting for delivery of the mini-DVI to HDMI adapter and have a question related to this.
The TV settings offer options for external devices corresponding to the ports on the TV, which include HDMI and Comp. When I have both the mini-DVI to HDMI and the audio cables connected, should I still choose Comp, or should I switch to HDMI as the external device. Will the TV be able to pick up input from 2 external devices at the same time although only one can be selected?

  • Sony Bravia S for Skype?

I am looking for a way to synch my Sony Bravia S TV to Skype.
I purchased one Sony Smart Blueray player, the sales person at Best Buy said would work, but Skype wasn't supported. Then purchased a Google TV (the box) after the sales person said it would "for sure" work.... and that didn't either.
Help! What options do I have to get Skype on my Sony Bravia S. ???
    Sony BDP-S780 ($249) + Sony TV Cam ($149) ??? Anything cheaper???

I have started having this issue on my Samsung TV! This used to work perfectly fine and I have been using this for more than a year, and now (like a few days now) this has stopped working. The auto-logon when TV starts option is frozen and I am unable to set this.
Can you please help me know what I should do to have this working again?
    THanks.

  • Suitable drive replacement(s) for a SONY DVD RW DW-U10A?

    HI,
Can anyone recommend a suitable replacement(s) for a SONY DVD RW DW-U10A as fitted to my 1Ghz G4 iMac? UK source would be welcome?
    Cheers!

    Hello,
    Internal.
Most replacement optical drives should work under Tiger/Leopard fine. If not Patchburn should get you burning again.
Most of us have Pioneer 'superdrives' installed by Apple so I usually recommend sticking with that product line. Really it's just a drive though.
The DVR-115 (20x DVD±RW DL for £18) seems a good deal to me (plus and hour or two of your time).
It's pretty fiddly to work inside an iMac G4 so you must be very cautious, especially around the video cable.Always take anti-static precautions. Here are three options for guiding you through the procedure:
    MacWorld
    xlr8yourmac
    Service Manuals
I've also taken a fair few photos which you can find here.
I'd advise reading the reports on the xlr8yourmac drive database so get other people's experiences first.
You must replace the Thermal Paste when you close the iMac up or it will overheat.
It's probably worth replacing the PRAM Battery whilst you're in there as these have a finite life (once they fail to re-charge you may start to run in to snags - it's only a £6 part).
    External.
A whole lot less effort to install and should you upgrade to an Intel iMac / Mac Mini/ MacBook in the future you'll have access to this faster desktop spec tray loading drive rather than the slow laptop spec slot drive installed in these current Macs.
Here's one example. It's the 20x DVD±RW DL burner again, this time with Lightscribe and a copy of Toast:
