Replaying a Test Script in the Developer Studio

The following is the error I am getting
I am able to start and stop recording.
But when press Start Replay Button
i am getting this error in the lower text area where messages area;
ERROR: Invalid Xml document received from the Xml Client. WindowId attribute is missing.

So I have been in hospital and rehablitation hospital for about six weeks and another two weeks at home, trying to get on the feet again.
When I returned, I saw the point-rewarding system on SDN, so in the first week, I was completely blocked by awarding you points for every tip in the past
The WebDynpro project now has come more or less to an end, so at the moment I'm personally back on EP topics.

1)During Recording i am getting successful result as follows

The Server is closed and it will not accept any more Xml documents from the Web Dynpro Runtime.
The script has been stored on the local file system.
2)But when i am trying to reply the script generated by recording then i am getting
following error in console
->Contacting XML Client on Server to get initial XML document.
ERROR: Contacted the Xml client on the J2EE Server, but did not receive an Xml document from it.
And in log viewer i am getting following error

the easiest way to download NWDS is in Service Marketplace , there go to the software download center (service.sap.com/swdc) and click on "Search for all Categories" on the left hand side. If you search for "Developer Studio" and then click on "SAP NW DEVELOPER STUDIO 2.0" in the results, you can navigate down and find the SP that you are looking for. SP18 is available now.

Setting timeout for all the web test scripts in the solution

Hello,
I have around 16 web test scripts (using VSTS 2010 ultimate version) in my project (in a solution). By default the timeout set for each request is 60 sec. I need to increase the timeout to 180 sec. Currently, I am clicking on each request and modifying
the timeout parameter from the Properties window.
Is there any common setting for timeout available which would be acting across all the scripts?

We only can set Timeouts for a separate request in Visual Studio Web Test. There is no way to set Timeout for all requests in VS IDE. But you can write you own logic code using
Timeout Property in a web test plugin to set Timeout for all requests in a web test.

if u have recorde ur test script for ur web dynpro application , then u will get a Script file.
Select that file -- right click on it --> replay .

Starting server from the Developer Studio

Hi all,
During starting the server in the SAP MC perspective in NWDS, the System prompts me to enter my Username and Password :
"Please, enter the credentials of the SAP System Administrator (<SID>adm)"
Which system administrations credential are meant here indeed?
The Username and password, which I normally use to deploy an application is not accepted here.
Should I enter my Username in a special combination?

ChaRM Test Message SDTM - Tester role cannot be same as the developer role

When the developer raise a test message SDTM, The developer couldn't confirm the message as we get a warning as
" Tester role cannot be same as the developer role "
We cheked the roles of developer and tester, they were not same .
We checked the Assign conditions in SDTM, But it doesnt have any values.

System check the name in the ticket or the BP for the person of Tester and Developer
Every person has unique BP so if the same name is entered in the ticket as Tester and developer then system will give you this warning.Since SAP recommendation is to have Dev and Tester 2 diff person.
You can ignore the same if Tester and Developer is the same person and might be you have technically created different roles for the same.

Testing Scripts

I was wondering if anyone knows of any "public" use testing scripts for the 10g/11g sample schemas like the HR schema. What I want to do is to run some batch insert, updates, and deletes against the schema and while it running take the snapshots and look at the reports. We are looking to upgrading from 10g to 11g and was trying to get practice running the things like:
Real Application Testing
SQL Performance Analyzer
Database Replay
but would like to see it these with a load on the system. I can write them myself...but didn't want to reinvent the wheel.

The software development group and change control management group have a schedule which they try to stay with. I am trying to do some of the "grunt" work and learning off of the "test" system that is similar to the production system. If I affect their stress testing and application testing they would not be very happy. The database is big enough that they will not allow me to have a trinitary copy for my "learning" of these new Oracle features.
I will perform these same actions against all the systems as we upgrade each one, but trying to write out the documentation before hand and get experience to make it run smoothly as possible when I do.
I appreciate the ideas and comments. I can setup my own generic testing scripts...it may take a day or two but I will have fun doing it.

For ecatts check development class/package SECATT_DDIC and transaction SECATT.
For general text transaction is SO10 and tables are STXH and STXL.
For Object Naviagtor SE80 you can change development class.
For function groups check ENLFDIR table.
All transaction codes are stored in TSTC and TSTCT tables

Developer Studio 7.2 in CE 7.2 Trial -- Java Web dynpro screens very differ

Hi there
Anybody got a good tutorial on creating a simple Java Web dynpro using the supplied rel 7.2 (note please NOT 7.1) release of the Developer studio that comes with CE 7.2 trial.
Even following the supplied tutorial the screens are DIFFERENT - the tutorial seems to be more like the screens from the 7.1 Version.
For instabce you don't get any Root UIElement container(transparent container) witha default Textview and the WINDOWS seem to be inconsistent with what the tutorial says -- the screens have a lot more functionality -- which might be good but doesn't help when trying to follow the tutorial from the WELCOME home page.
I suspect that the tutorial was developed on the earlier release and hasn't been fully tested on rel 7.2

Iam not aware on scrubbing, but test script is the final document after test plan which will carry all the test cases (testing individual scenarios) after the development for a new requirement.

Cannot deploy from netweaver developer studio to application server

From NW developer studio, right clicked on the SAP server that I have configured and try to a publish. It gives me the below exception. For some reason its trying to contact my old IP address. Is there a file where I can change this setting. My Laptop is set to use DHCP so my IP changes when I reboot my laptop. I also have configured a Microsoft loop back adapter.

Hi,
you could change the connection settings to the server in the preference page in the Developer Studio. Check <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/0cf28fb4d01f23e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm">this</a> page in the documentation for details.
In your case, you can also use the host name of your laptop, or even just localhost, in the Message Server Host field in the preferences page. This should overcome the problem with dynamic IPs.

How to edit a PDF document in Netweaver Development Studio?

Dear Experts,
I am trying to edit a PDF file in the Netweaver Developer Studio.
Can anybody tell me how can I import and edit it in the Netweaver Developer Studio?
I am trying to do some editing.Eg. adding action buttons, adding input fields etc to the PDF file.
If somebody has previously done such things or have some idea, I would like to hear from your experiences.

Thank you for the immediate response.
Now I can import the pdf files and edit them.
However there is a problem.
I can only open the pdf files which I created by the developer studio.
When I open the pdf files those created by a scanner, they appear blank. However, when I open the same files with acrobat reader, the contects in the file appear.
I will be very thankful if you could help me in this.
