Replicate metadata in productive

Hi Gurus.
I need to replicate metadata a data source to synchronize the time stamp, when I replicate the data source in productive system, generates the following message:
Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted
and does not allow replication.
Does anyone have a solution to replicate without open the productive system?

Try to see if you can execute the report RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL under the transaction SE38, to see if activating the datasource it will replicate it and will synchronize the time stamp.

--> Replicated datasource as BI7 for transformations.
2) as 3.x DataSource (ISFS)
--> Replicates as 3.X datasource, can create transfer and update rules,
3) this and following 1 as DataSource (RSDS)
--> Same as point 1, applies for current and next datasource
4) this and following 1 as 3.x DataSource (ISFS)
--> Same as point 2, applies for current and next datasource while replicating.

Problem in Replicate Metadata in BIW

Dear All,
Can anyone help me in Replicate Metadata in BIW.
Datasorce are active. LBWE activity is also done and the Extration can be seen in Sandbox..
But while we do a Replicate Metadata in RSA1in BIW then its now showing all the moudules ex: Sales and Distribution or Purchasing etc

Hi,
Don't directly do Replicate datsources on source system.
Select the source system from the Modeling tab, right click and select Display Datsource Tree.
Select the Required Application compnent ie SD , right click on it and select Replicate Metadata.
No only SD related Datasources will be replicated.

Mapping asset's metadatas with production's metadatas

Hi everybody,
Let's say I have a production with a metadata called "Season" which has a value of "2".
I want to upload a new asset from the output of my Telestream engine encoder to this production. I use a metadata set for the uploaded asset which includes a field called "Season". I'd like to map this field to the same field in the production in order to automatically get the value "2" in my asset field.
Is that possible?

I struggled with this myself for a few months now, and basically got the answer from the best possible sources ( oh, yes, straight from the bunker ). The answer is no. It is impossible to pass metadata from productions into assets.

Recently we upgraded the R/3 from 4.6C to ECC6.0. As we trying to connect ECC6 from BW, we faced some RFC problem & managed to resolve. While resolving, we accidently deleted the source system. The system is prompting for
Replicate Metadat. Should we replicate Metadat?

so, now your source system is completely changed...(from 4.6 to ECC) so, definetly you need to do REPLICATE METADATA ... betyter to do that Replicate Datasources also...

Error,while importing METADATA from production to development

I am getting the following error while importing the metadata. I have exported from production server and want to do some modification to the existing mappings. Can some body help me to resolve this?

I have selected the option
Add new metadata and replace existing objetcs. But it is not importing. Also I tried other options like
1. deleting the existing mapping and tried.
2. Putting the mapping in recycle bin and try.
3. Take it from recycle bin.Even during taking it from recycle it is giving me the following error .

IDX2 and Idoc metadata in production system

As explained my Michal & SAP note - 767091, I ran program IDX_GET_CONFIG in production, pointed rfc dest to source where the config is located. It loaded the data but the metadata in the tables are pointing to the XI development (DEV) target system port and not production (PRD)landscape....meaning
XI0 sending data to SAPDEV port
XC0 sending data to SAPTST port
XP0 sending Idoc data to SAPPRD port
Now all my entries in xp0 is pointing to SAPDEV port
How do I fix this. I don't want to create a SAPPRD port in XI0 and load metadata from SAPPRD into Xi0...its would not be SOX complaint.

Replicate metadata error.

Hi gurus,
When I replicated metadata from source system(SAP R3 46c),some error occured.
Error Message is :RSAR 314 and RSAR 315.

There should be some program error, you need to find the problem if it is throwing any short dumps, if not I would do replication for specific data source or specific application and figure out which one actually throwing the error. Another thing you could do is, verify the source system connection is fine by doing check on the source system, also make sure the RFC is fine too in sm59.
If the error is happening to specific data source, then you need to see what is actually happening to this ds.

Map Metadata Title in Productions

I am having issues creating a metadata map for a production. I have a metadata set that is called "Episode Stock" and it calls a group that has the field called "Episode Stock Title" and I want to map that to the default Title for Productions, but I have been unsuccessful so far.
I am hoping that when I set this metadata map the Title will update dynamically from the Episode Stock Title. Any experience or ideas would be useful.

It is not clear to me whether you can map metadata for productions.
As I understand it so far, metadata mapping seems to be for translating file metadata into asset metadata. Since there is no analogue for this with productions, I wouldn't expect it to work.

Inactive DataSource in Production System

I have a situation where DataSource inactive once I initialise infoPackage.we transported from Development to Production and it was active (green) in Production System.I tried to initialise infoPackage then I got the message

1. Replicate the datasource at Application component Level. i.e. If your datasource is in an application component say, BW then right click on the application component "BW" and select "Replicate Metadata".
2. If you have transfer rules then activate them with program "RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL".
SE38 -> RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL, if you are not able to do it, ask help from your basis to do it, they will have option to do changes directly in prodution itself.

Replication of Enhanced Products from CRM to R/3

Hi,
I have downloaded the R/3 Material from R/3 to CRM.
Now I have made changes in that product in CRM i.e I have added some attributes in CRM Product Master.
Now,Is it possible to replicate that enhanced product from CRM back to R/3.
If yes,Can you please explain me as to how I do it in Middleware???

Hi,
CRM to R/3 replication is not possible for products but only for IBASES. you will have to enhance the material master in ECC and then replicate the custom data to CRM in enhanced fields. that is possible but from CRM to ECC i am afraid is not !

Best practice for replicate the IDM (OIM 11.1.1.5.0) environment

Dear,
I need to replicate the IDM production to build the IDM test environment. I have the OIM 11.1.1.5.0 in production with lots of custom codes.
I have two approaches:
approach1:
Manually deploy the code through Jdeveloper and export and import all the artifacts. Issue is this will require a lot of time and resolving dependencies.
approach2:
Take the OIM, MDS and SOA schemas export and Import the same into new IDM Test DB environment.
could you please suggest me what is the best practice and if you have some pointers to achieve the same.

Follow your build document for the same steps you used to build production.
You should know where all your code is. You can use the deployment manager to export your configurations. Export customized files from MDS. Just follow the process again, and you will have a clean instance not containing production data.
It only takes a lot of time if your client is lacking documentation or if you re not familiar with all the parts of the environment. What's 2-3 hours compared to all the issues you will run into if you copy databases or import/export schemas?

We have sap CRM and R/3 systems are there.
I could replicate all the products from R/3 to CRM system except one product.
I checked that product in R/3 there that is available but it is not available in CRM system.
Please let me know hoe to replicate only that particular product from R/3 to CRM system.

Things you need to do
i. See if there are any BDocs stuck in the SMWO1 for the product in question. if none then do the below
i. Create an explicit download request for this product. Go to TCODE R3AR2. Give a name starting with Z ; Adapter object would be MATERIAL. Then click on request detail and enter the following
Table name : MARA
Field name : MATNR
incl/exl - INclusive deined set/array
option - Equality (=Low)
Low = Enter your product number that you want to download from R/3.
SAVE
ii. Go to tcode R3AR4 and enter the object created in previous step. Enter source site and target site.
SELECT EXECUTE.
Now see if the product is downloaded or not. If not, check BDocs and queues.

Service product replication for test and developement system

Hi Experts,
In our scanario service product is created in production system and later manually created in test and developement system.
Is there is any standard function module avilable to replicate the product master data into test and developement system
Or Is it possible to use the middleware functionallity to replicate the service product details.
Please advice on this issue.

You can use the FindFile method in the TS API:
FindFile Method
Syntax
Engine.FindFile ( fileToFind, absolutePath, userCancelled, promptOption = FindFile_PromptHonorUserPreference, srchListOption = FindFile_AddDirToSrchList_Ask, isCommand = False, [currentSequenceFile])
The function itself returns a boolean which indicates if the file exists or not.
Then just use a Call Executable step to run command line string to delete the file.

I am working on Oracle GG bi-directional DML replication. I m stuck in one place.
My target replicat process was ABENDED due to Error :- ORA-01403: no data found. I restarted my replicat process again by runing the below command
GGSCI (db1) 30> alter replicat rep2 begin now
GGSCI (db1) 30> start replicat rep2
After restart the replicat process I can't see the changes on target server which I had applyed on source server during target replicat was ABENED.
My doubt is.
1. Is my command is correct for start the ABENDEND replicat process?
2.How to get the changes on target server which applyed on source during ABNDED of targer replication?
3.How to avoid the ABENDED replicat process on production server?
4.how to track the ABENDED process in production server?
Please HELP:(

By doing begin now when this happens, you are skipping all the transactions that were "in-line" since the process ABENDED.
You have more than one way to deal with these things, first of all you should synchronize your data! This should get rid of the 1403 errors.
Then you can write rules using REPERROR to tell the replicat how to behave in case of errors should come up.
Using logdump, you can read the exact row which failed and find out the next RBA to skip that specific one if required. You should also configure a DISCARDFILE to get details about errors when they happen.
