Replicating of Material Master from ECC6.0 to SRM 5.0 in real-time

Hi,
I saw the URL on the steps to replicate Material Master from ECC to SRM:

It requires to run transaction r3as to load the material.
Can I check do we have to do this step periodically to pull material master from ECC?
Is there anyway to have a real-time RFC whenever the material is created or changed?

What is the exact function module / Bdoc / idoc that sync the material master to SRM?
If we want to cusomize our own filter criteria like exlude certain material groups and include only material starting with certain numbers, how can we do that?

Hi find below for the product cat
Steps to create the product category in SRM:
1)       Create MM material groups in ECC client. This will create a transport. Go to SRM Tcode R3AS and select the object u201CDNL_CUST_PROD1u201D from the list and run it. You can monitor the job using R3AM1 in SRM. This will bring the material group into SRM. This can be seen in TCode u201CCOMM_HIERARCHYu201D in SRM.
2)       Once it is done. Go to IMG in SRM and go to path SRM> SRM server> Cross app biz settings> Account aassigmnet> Define GL code for Acc *** Cat and Prod Cat. Maintain the GL code against this prod cat for all the account assignment codes. This is client specific setting and need to be done in every client by opening it. This GL code is given in the form in ticket.
3)       Do a test and check if the product category is available for procurement in SC.

All the inputs that are required to create a material in dialog (MM01) should be mandatory as well if you are going for LSMW or BAPI. Obviously your material requires a description (which will end up in MAKT). If you have this description in your flat file then there are additional (perhaps language-dependent) descriptions required.
You could try to use BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA in your test environment to find out the minimum input that is required to create a material in R/3.
You may also have a look at thread what are the parameters have to pass to bapi material creation?

Replication of Customer and Material master from R/3 to CRM

Hi
Recently in our quality server basis administrator has made a client copy from production server after that customer master and material master are not flowing from R/3 to CRM, even sales orders were not getting copied from CRM to R/3 , i went through C71 BB config document and fixed the sales orders updation from CRM to R/3 but not able to resolve the problem of customer master and material master from ECC to CRM.
I went to B09 BB document and all settings are fine.
Using R3AS I have loaded following objects DNL_CUST_PROD0, PROD1, PROD3, SPROD , DNL_PLANT. and Material.
I went to R3AM1 and checked the status as running or wait for each object.
There are no filters in R3AC1 .
Queue name withR3AD_MATERIA0000000001 has status SYSFAIL in SMQ2 .
What can i do to resolve this problem.

Hello Vaishnavi,
After the client copy , have you run txn:BDLS in order to change the LOGSYS in all relevant tables?
You can run this txn in test mode as well to see the affected tables.
Are you getting any dump on these load ?Check it in txn:ST22.

Uploading material master from R/3 to CRM problem

Hi Experts,
I am new to the Middleware
I have downloaded the material master from R/3 to CRM but I am not able to see the downloaded products in CRM.
I have checked the queue of R/3 there is no error.
I even checked the queue of CRM there is no error.
When I see in SMW01 the status is green and
BDoc. Error message is showing Mat. for Initial Download: Function table not supported
Can anybody give me suggestions?

ALE IDOC Transfering Material Master From One Client to Another Client

I am using ALE Idoc transfering material master from one client to another client with MATMAS msgtype the details of Idoc received on receiver side is showing message i.e no Idoc is selected at receiving side after passing partner number in WE02 transaction.
As I am new to ALE/IDOCS , I am transferring material master from one client to another client with in same system on IDES using ALE/Idocs the details of IDOC received on receiver side is showing message i.e no IDOC is selected at receiving side after passing partner number in WE02 transaction and showing current status 51 instead of 53 i.e no details of IDOC is received at receiver side using MATMAS Message-Type. Hello Naveen,
If the connection is available (test with SM59 + Connection identifier),
after choosing your Connection you can test the connection:
you might find the idocs with the daate when they where sent in SM58:
The message says in this case there was no service, there might also be other errors like "wrong password" and so on.
After solving the error, you can restart sending the idoc from this screen.

Material Replication from ERP to MDM (SRM-MDM Catalog)

Hi Experts,
I would like to replicate the material master from the ERP system into the MDM (SRM-MDM Catalog)?
I don't want to replicate the materials from ERP to SRM, and then from SRM to MDM.
1. Does ERP provide any transactions to achieve this ( like MECCM / MDM_CLNT_EXTR) ?
2. Is there a necessity to use the PI system in these communications? If so, what Integration Scenario I need to use in PI Enterprise Repository?
3. Any further changes to Materials in the ERP system should automatically replicate into the MDM system.
From SRM, I create SC with items from Materials in MDM.
Please let me know if you require more information.

Thank you for your quick reply.
So we should consider the scenario where SRM is the central repository for the contracts, and all the changes done in SRM should be replicated to ERP.
In this scenario, do you know which steps should be done to allow contract replication from SRM to ERP? I already created a central contract in SRM but there is no message sent to PI.

Vendor and Material Replication from ECC6 Ehp7 to SRM7.0

I am facing an issue with replicating Material and Vendor Master from ECC to SRM system.
ECC system - ECC6.0 Ehp 7 & SRM system - SRM7.0
Middleware setting is done as per Note 720819 and performed the object like DNL_CUST_BASIS3 , DNL_CUST_PROD0, DNL_CUST_PROD1 and found Sucess in SRM R3AM1.
Errors :
1. Material Replication Error in SMW01
Mat. for Initial Download: Table not supported by function
Alternative units of measure are inconsistent; correct the values COM_PRODUCT_UNIT COMM_PR_UNIT

Importing of material master from SAP to MDM

Hi all
we are working for a scenario where we need to import data from SAP R/3 to MDM using IDoc and XI.MDM already provides standard T codes for collective generation of IDocs for vendor and customer master( what i mean is single IDoc is generated for a selection of mastres) but no such option is there for material master.
This means in the READY folder in case of material we will have say 1000s of xml files in case we are importing 1000 records from R3.
What is the way out??It becomes difficult to import all files one by one.What are different options we have?

Go to the transaction MDM_CLNT_EXTR.
Select Extraction Object:MATERIAL_EXTRACT
Give Target sytem ( XI Sytem)(This should create with SALE transactio, ALE IDOC Settings)
Distribution Mode:I
Create a variant for this and save
Come to the same transacction again, select the saved variant.
Press ENTER button
Click 'Start Extraction ' button.
Then this program will send all the material from SAP R/3 system to the target system.

How to udate material master from contrat when there is a change in me32k

Planned delivery time is maintained in MRP 2 view of material master. Whenever contract is created for the material, the procurement team changes the planned delivery time in contract. This leads to inconsistency between the two values.
It is required that whenever planned delivery time for a material is changed in contract, the same value should get updated in MRP 2 view in material master.

Try adding a trigger that will add records to a table that can be checked by the ODBC application whenever it runs. Of course, the trigger could also call a stored procedure that called some external code as well.

Overwriting Conditions data during Material Replication from R/3 to SRM.

Hi,
 When creating a new info record and then running the material replication program everything looks OK. However, if for the same material you create a new info record or change the existing info record and then run the material replication, some of the previous data is removed.
 We implemented BADI(PRODUCT_CUSTOMER2) to read info records from R/3. When i debug BADI all the info record and condition info is populated. Once the control leaves the BADI standard SAP code is not inserting/updating delta condition records. It is only populating latest info record.
 SRM 4.0
 Support pack level : 11
 BADI Name: PRODUCT_CUSTOMER2
 Method Name: MAP_R3_TO_CRM_MATERIAL
 Conditions Populated in structure : COMT_PROD_SERVICE_BDOC- CONDITIONS-CND_BBP_WORKING_SET.

Do you use IPC for pricing? I am not sure whether you can use R/3 4.6C with SRM5.5. Check your systems. Refer SAP notes 539720 if you are using simplified pricing (Classic scenario).
Also check for SAP OSS Notes - 394975 and 420343
Update of price in srm is possible through the SAP OSS Note 420343. This note describes an option to transfer a price from the Backend via a report and a BADI and to store this price in the condition table of the corresponding product in the EBP. But you have to do small changes,i think this note will certainly helps you to transfer material master prices to srm product master automatically.

Material Master Replication R/3 to SRM

Hello SRM Experts,
I am in a process of replicating MM from R/3 to SRM server.
This is not a new one,already some materials are loaded into SRM.
Ths issue what I am trying to understand is I have many materials,material Types and material groups added in R/3, but not all flowu2026
I just want to know if I add a new Material Type,Material Group and Materials on R/3 side how do I get them replicated?
What are the tasks that need to be performed on R/3 and SRM for their replication?
I have gone throgh the Blogs of material replication by Vipul,but this is not pointed.
In R3AM1 it is showing the below status...

in SMW01 i found the below
Category for material group 4000 does not exist

Diagnosis
If material groups are used in the SAP system, they must exist as categories in CRM/EBP before you import materials. When Customizing object DNL_CUST_PROD1 is imported, the material groups are imported automatically and created in the category hierarchy R3MATCLASS (material group).
Procedure
Check whether the material groups have been imported successfully and exist as categories.
Proceed
If necessary, import the Customizing object DNL_CUST_PROD1.
I tried restarting the DNL_CUST_PROD1 but this gives me below msg

Material replication from R/3 to SRM - Issue with Material group

Hello All,
                  I am working on BADI PRODUCT_CUSTOMER2 and method MAP_R3_TO_CRM_MATERIALMaterial replication part from R/3 to SRM.
I am using a Ztable to map r/3 material group to SRM material group(Product category).
For example Material M1 with material group 100 is transferred to SRM. Material group(Product category) 100 exist in SRM, but I am changing the material group to 200 in the product_customer2 badi. its working fine.
In another scenario, Material with material M1 with material group 300. Material group(product category) 300 does not exist in SRM,
I am changing the material group to 200 in the bdoc, in the product_customer2 badi. It is not working. The LUW is failing in SMQ2 transaction with the error "Error in Mapping (Details: transaction SMW01)". The BDOC is failing with error "Category for material group 300 does not exist"
I tried to deactivate the badi PRODUCT_CUSTOMER2, even then the FM MAP_BAPIMTCS_AND_PROCESS is validating the material group from R/3.
I tried to change the material group 300 to the existing material group 200 at initial stage in debugging in function module MAP_BAPIMTCS_AND_PROCESS but still the bdoc is failing with error "No storage form defined for product type 01 / logical system".
I am doing my testing using the following steps.
1. change the material descriptioni in MM02 in R/3.
2. An item is displayed in the queue in SMQ2 in SRM.
3. I have debugged the LUW and analyzed my badi by setting breakpoint at method MAP_R3_TO_CRM_MATERIAL, its changing the material group in the bdoc properly.
   that didnt work.
   also i tried to change the material group in the function module MAP_BAPIMTCS_AND_PROCESS before the badi is called.
4. I am checking the BDOc status using tcode SMW01 and checking the material using tcode COMMPR01.
can someone tell me how I can change the R/3 material group to SRM material group at the time of mapping in SRM?

Master Data (customer, vendor & material) extraction from ECC6 to BI

I am looking to extract data from the R/3 KNMT table (VD53 txn u2013 Customer-Material Info Record) for BW reporting. Does anyone know if Standard Business Content exists to do so, and where I can find it?

There is no standard content DataSource for the KNMT (Customer-Material Info Record Data Table) table. You will have to create a generic DataSource for this table. You can create a generic delta, based on KNMT-ERDAT, for this generic DataSource.
