Hi Guys
my Domain controllers are the next
DC1 192.168.2.2 (2003)
DC2 192.168.2.3 (2003)
New domain
DC01 192.168.2.4 (2008)
DC02 192.168.2.5 (2008)
DC1 and DC2 are replicating over Failover ( DHCP, DNS..)
i want to know before i migrate the FSMO roles over to the New DC01, do i need to disable the replication before the migration or not ?

Do I need to deactivate my Creative Suite 6 before I pickup my new mac pro? or will the migration assistant do all of that?

Nope. Migration does not work with any Adobe software. Don't even try it, it will cause a lot of huge problems.
Deactivate your software on the old computer. Install it from the original installer on the new one, don't forget to install all upgrades which are available in the meantime.

Must the client always be up before the master for WAN replication to work?

From our testing, we have noticed that the client must always be up before the master in order for WAN replication to work. Is this the case? If so, is there some kind of flag in Tangosol to allow the master to reconnect to client?

You can never, never migrate an installed copy of PSE. It's just too complex and you can't get to all the bits and bobs.
First you will have to download and run this:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
which will not seem to do anything, but is necessary to break the links within PSE so that you can pitch the bits manually. Then you will have to go around, not only to applications, but also to your username>library>preferences and most importantly to the library at the top level of your hard drive>application support>adobe, and remove everything you can find. Spotlight will not help with this kind of search, so don't try that.
Then you can install PSE from scratch.

There is no merge but you can move data from one account to another via the Shared folder. Data is copied from Shared. Watch your free space when copying. These are large files. Do one at a time if you are on a small drive. After making copy, delete from other users before you start next copy.
Office365 installs in the main Applications folder and is available for all users on the computer. Activation is tied to the drive not the User.

What is wrong with the migrated project? (8.1 to 10.3)

I've "inherited" an old WebLogic 8.1 app that is to be migrated to WebLogic 10.3. I've run it through the migration/upgrade functionality in Workshop 10.3, fixed the compile errors, and dealt with the most obvious (to me) cases of deprecated class use. The app, from what I've been told, was originally coded using the old non-eclipse-based workshop 8.1, using PageFlows.
The app, however, when I run it, still produces some warnings, and does not behave correctly. I've probably missed some crucial step in the migration process. Though I've worked a great deal with (Non-j2EE) Java before, I'm very green when it comes to the intricacies of WebLogic applications. I'm hoping that someone wiser than I can shed some light on what I've missed.

I have experienced the same problem in which I finally give up trying LookOut connection browser. After few follows, you can not even see the display on the screen anymore. Close the connection browser and reopen again then everything goes fine, but it will crap out again after few follows.

HT3231 I ended up having to create a new user name because the migration assistant wouldn't let me put the data back onto my original user name. I now have to log into the new user name to see all my data, apps, photographs etc. What went wrong?

I have a Mac that was part of the recall involved with the faulty Seagate hard drives. The folks at the Apple Store near me changed the hard drive early December, 2012. I had my data, etc. all backed up on a portable hard drive. When the Mac was returned with the new hard drive, I used the Migration Assistant to bring everything back over. Trouble was, it wouldn't let me bring it over to my original user name. I was forced to create a new user name that became the place where everything was restored. I can't see any data on my old user name, just the basics. Everything is on the new user name but I wish I didn't have it (just want everything back the way it was originally). Any suggestions?

Probably the cleanest thing to do is to erase and freshly install the operating system on the new drive. Then, on the first boot up, don't create a new user, instead select the option in Setup Assistant to immediately bring things over from your backup, which you must connect via USB or firewire. Setup Assistant will then recretae your old user to look just like it used to.
Before doing this, make sure you realize you will lose everything on the new drive by erasing it, and make sure your backup is still viable.

1) Select the required entries from the tables you need (VBAK, VBAP, KNA1, etc)

This is the basic idea and short example of how to extract entries and read internal table.

I recently used the migration assistant on my old macbook air to transfer my data to my new macbook pro, yet it seems that my music and Films have not fully transferred over. i have used macs for a while now and haven't had any problems before, yet now itunes has the names of my music and films yet it can't locate the original file. any ideas on how to get this fixed? i don't want to buy all my music and films again.

Did the original files actually transfer? They would be in Music>iTunes>iTunes Music. You may just need to rebuild the library if the files are in that folder.

Comparison of open items in the Migration face to New GL

How do we check open items in the "validation phase" of the migration
cockpit? That is we what to check that the transfer of open items to
the new tables has gone OK before activating New G/L in
the "activation phase".
There is comparison reports that are available in Migration Phase where we check the status
of Open items migrated to newGL tables. But this report are not very good for getting the "Acceptance of Migration Results by Business Owner"
Pre migration the Business Owner will run reports like S_ALR_87012083, S_ALR_ 87012173 and FBL3N in the "preparation phase", so we have a picture of the situation before
migration. But we can't find any similar reports which uses FAGLEFLEX,
which we need to be able to compare data after the migration (but
before activation new G/L). For FBL3N we hoped to use FAGLL03, but this
is not possible as new G/L is not activated.
We have also tried to run /NGL/COMPARE_LEDGERS via SE38 but we can't
get the program to work this way.
So what do we do? Is the only option to created a report i ex FGI0?

The 'Third Party Connections' drop down box on the 'Source Database' step in the Migration Wizard is empty.

SQLDeveloper 32-bit Version 3.2.20.09 (Build MAIN-09.87)
Oracle Database: 12C single instance (no RAC)
Oracle client: 12C 32 bit
Windows 64 bit desktop
I am attempting to migrate an MS Access application to Oracle. I pick the ‘Migrate’ selection from the ‘Tools’ Menu SQL Developer. This puts me into the Migration Wizard. When I get to the ‘Source Database’ step of the migration wizard, the ‘Choose the Third Party database from which you are migrating’ drop-down box is not being populated with the current available connections. It is empty. If I type a valid connection name into the box, SQL Developer takes it on this screen but does not keep it for the next screen/step. It has no persistence. I even tried to make sure that each connection was open/connected before beginning the migration process.
Due to the fact that I am attempting to migrate an MSAccess application, I am mixing 32-bit and 64 bit software. This may be the issue as to why the drop down is losing addressability. I have not applied any patches to this version of SQL Developer.

We are currently on GRC 5.3 SP 18 (Java ONLY) and migrating to GRC 10.1. I referred the Migration Guide which outlines that GRC 5.3 needs to be upgraded to SP 20 as pre-requisite for using the "Migration Tool" . Our BASIS team is reluctant to perform this upgrade from SP 18 to SP 20.
Having said thus, I'm exploring options of migrating data from 5.3 to 10.1 without using the "Migration Tool:.

I'm in the process of preparing the 9 different files (listed below) and later utilize the "Upload Rule" option for migrating the Rule set data from 5.3 to 10.1.
While I'm able to gather data for most of the files I'm not sure how can I obtain the data pertaining to the two files (Function Actions and Function Permissions) underlined and highlighted in Red below.

7. Risk
8. Risk Description
9. Risk Rule Set Relationship

I have done this successfully before. Because you are having issues, I would NOT recommend using the migration tool to move the ruleset. Instead:
1. Download the ruleset files from 5.3
2. The 5.3 tcode-permission file, which defines which tcode permissions from SU24 need to be checked during risk analysis, needs to be split into the two files you mention above in red.
FUNCTION_ACTION : this file represents S_TCODE objects and TCD fields mapped to each function (Function to Tcode relationship). In the 5.3 file, you will filter on object S_TCODE and field TCD, and you will get a complete list that now represents "FUNCTION_ACTION". BUT instead of having all the jumbled permission info, you will just have 3 columns: Function - Tcode - Status.
3. The remaining permissions that are left over, after taking out the S_TCODE -TCD items, represent the "FUNCTION_PERMISSION" file in GRC 10.
4. Manually create the excel spreadsheets for each file.
5. Copy and past each sheet to a unique .txt file.
6. Upload the ruleset manually through SPRO-->GRC-->Access Control-->Access Risk Analysis-->SoD Rules-->Upload SoD Rules.
7. Select each file and then upload to the correct Logical Group.
This is a huge pain, but it works. Let me know how this goes and if you need any assistance.

How does the Migration program work?

I am having a problem with Iphoto and A support suggests that I do a clean install of SL then Iphoto to see if I have the same problem. Which is when I use the external 30" cinema and have iphoto at close to full size and go to adjust an image, especially using shadow or highlight I get crazy bars going thru the image, as it's a video card problem. Oh yeah it does the same thing with Aperture 3
However when I use CS4 or Lightroom I do not have a problem.
I have my HD backed up using carbon copy so I can do a restore, but I am not crazy about the idea of loading everything back manually.
If I use the migration tool, will I end up with the same system as I had before or will doing the clean install will avoid writing over the SL part?

Boot with the clone, if it's a complete one, then boot with it and see if the problem persists. If not, then erase the original source and restore the clone. Restoring the clone doesn't require reloading anything manually. However, if you didn't make a complete clone, you failed to properly use CCC.

HT4796 Why won't my PC and Mac connect in the Migration Assistant?

Both have it installed and have the exact same wireless connection. I originally skipped the process during startup because I thought it would take way longer than using an enternal hard drive, but that was before I found out the two weren't compatible.

I need more information. Are you trying to migrate from a PC to MAC? And are you referring to the Migration Assistant that is on your MAC?
