Replication Objects

Dear all,
Why do we need to generate replication objects in CRM system?
I need some clarity about replication objects in CRM system?
Please help me to understand the solutions for the following questions?
What is the use of this replication objects?
In a implementation project whose responsiblity is it to generate replication objects?
How much time does it take to generate the objects?
What are all objects do we need to generate to maintain a proper connection between SAP ECC and CRM system.
What are the replication object Categories?
How can we monitor Replication Objects status in a freshly installed SAP CRM system?
If we don't generate objects in SAP CRM system what effects will be there?
What are the replication Queues? What configuration do they require for data flow between SAP CRM and ECC?
Please educate me to understand the scenario, Your suggestions will be highly appreciated?
Thank you

Definition
A Replication Object is a logical unit (customer record, order header with several positions, text module, etc) which is defined within the entire system and exchanged between the various datasets. The replication object can consist of one or more segments, each of which may contain several data records. The following condition, however, applies to a replication object: in the root segment of the object there must only ever be one record containing a unique replication key (distribution key). A replication object is based on so-called BDoc types.
Use
Replication objects are classified into various replication object types. This allows you to be flexible when compiling the dataset of the current Site The following replication object types are available:
·        Intelligent replication objects
·        Simple intelligent replication objects
·        Dependent replication objects
·        Replication objects of type unfiltered (bulk)
·        Replication objects of type simple unfiltered
Replication object types can be combined with each other for creating individual datasets. The following combinations are possible:
Multiple dependent replication objects
In this kind of replication a replication object is dependent on several intelligent replication objects. The multiple dependent replication object maintains its own Look-Up Table, but does so according to Criteria defined by the higher level replication objects.
Combined dependent replication objects
Combined dependent replication means that there is a multiple dependent replication object for which additional own distribution criteria can be defined.
Example
Multiple dependent replication object
The distribution of the replication object u201Cactivitiesu201D depends on the intelligent replication objects u201Ccustomeru201D and u201Cobjectu201D.Thus the responsible mobile employee receives activities relating both to his or her customers and to the objects for which he or she is responsible.
Combined dependent replication object
The distribution of the replication object u201Cactivitiesu201D depends on the intelligent replication objects u201Ccustomeru201D and u201Cobjectu201D.You can also specify an individual distributor for each activity.
You cannot maintain replication objects in a production system, but only in a development or test system. In the case of replication objects maintained there, corresponding function modules are generated and a transport request is created which has to be released explicitly so that the replication objects are also updated accordingly in the production system (target system).
Use of Replication Objects
A single replication object is generated from each BDoc type.
To display replication objects which have already been defined, choose the Object Type Replication object, in the Object Type list box. If required make an entry in field Object Name and choose the symbol This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
Activated replication objects are marked as such (the Active object checkbox in the Object information area is selected). Replication objects that have not been activated cannot be assigned to publications. Since replication objects are automatically activated when they are created, an error has occurred during generation in such cases. You can activate and regenerate such replication objects using the Activate function. This generates function modules and a corresponding transport request is created, which has to be released explicitly in order to transfer the data into the target system (typically a production system).
By choosing the corresponding function you can now create additional replication objects or display or add criteria fields or delete already existing replication objects.
hope it answers most of ur queries

  • GWI: Add new filter criteria for replication object BUPA_MAIN

    Hello,
we are currently setting up Groupware Integration with CRM 7.0 and Outlook Exchange 2007. We would like to filter the BPs that are replicated to Outlook's public folder. The replication object BUPA_MAIN in Tx. SMOEAC has only got the following criteria fields:
    BPARTNER
    CENTRALARCHIVINGFLAG
    COUNTRYISO
    INDUSTRY
    IS_COMPETITOR
    IS_CONSUMER
    IS_CUSTOMER
    IS_DELETED
    IS_PROSPECT
    PARTNEREXTERNAL
    REGION
    SEARCHTERM1
    SEARCHTERM2
    SITE_ID
We don't want to use any of those but would like to set a filter on BP Role and filter for all Groupware Employees. Only those should be replicated.
We did set the filter conditions in customizing under "Filter Condition for Business Partners Exchange with Groupware" in order to replicate only BP with role GWEMP but still during Initial Load all Business Partners were replicated.
Could anyone tell me how to avoid this?
I hear it's possible to add new criteria fields to the replication object BUPA_MAIN.
Could anyone tell me how this is done?
Your help will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!
    Angela

    Hello Angela
Usually the settings under "Filter Condition for Business Partners Exchange with Groupware" should be enough to avoid the synchronization. With those settings all BP are filtered out except the ones with role GWEMP (Groupware Employee).
We have the following setting in SPRO:
    BUPA     1     BUP001           X     X
    BUPA     1     BUP003           X     X
    BUPA     2        X     X
    BUPA     3                     X     X
(first column empty, second and third column with X, last column empty).

  • CRM 2007 - Replication Objects & developments

    Dear all
We are on CRM 5.0 and in the process of migrating to CRM2007. Our business process is such that we have many replication objects  (BPs from CRM to ECC6, Sales transactions from CRM to ECC, Material, pricing from ECC to CRM) that flow back and forth via middleware.
Now the question is during or after the upgrade, do we need to do something different to make sure this works seamlessly as it does for us now? Or do we need to do initial and delta loads again?
Also regarding JAVA and ABAB development items, I am assuming we can just update these components to CRM2007 via technical master guide.
In IC Win client, we have done a lot of enhancements including inbox searches, new EEWB fields. Would we need to develop these all over?
Please send your replies and thoughts.
    Regards
    Jai

    Jai,
If your middleware is "vanilla" then you should not have to do anything except for the upgrade guide post-processing steps. Just make sure to "turn off" the middleware before the upgrade(clear out all open queues on ERP, deregister queues on ERP, clear out all queues in CRM, clean up middleware history) According to the upgrade guide you may need to regnerate your adapter objects.
Yes just follow the master/upgrade guides to upgrade those components as normal.
All your Winclient screen enhancements need to be migrated to the CRM webclient screens.  However you won't need to recreate any of the fields on the underlying database.  All the UI level enhancements will need to be reimplemented manually.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • What are replications objects and subscriptions???

    Hello All,
I am working with CRM 5.0
I want to know what are replications objects and subscriptions and how it is work with sites and BDocs? The process is not clear to me and how is the relationship between them?
    Regards
    Jacopo Francois

    Hello Jacopo,
The CRM Middleware course material CR500/CR540/CR550 details out the concepts of a Replication Obj,Publication and Subscription.
Let me try and illustrate this concept with a real-world example. This is normally the example I provide whenever I train employees.
What do you do when you want to subscribe for SAP Netweaver magazine published from SAP Press?
    1) SAP Press publises a number of SAP magazines. So, first you select the publication of your choice. Your publication = "SAP Netweaver".
    2) Next, you have to subscribe for it in the website by furnishing your credit card details, shipping address and the duration of your subscription. So, that becomes your subscription. So, a publication can have many subscriptions (sent by many people)
The replication object is just the abstraction which collects all the publications and their corresponding subcriptions and relates them a particular Bdoc type. Normally, the name of a replication object = Name of the Bdoc type. E.g. BUPA_MAIN. Replication objects can be bulk objects or simple intelligent objects depending on whether mass data or filtered data is desired. Naturally, there will not be any subscriptions for a bulk replication object.
Now, once you have created a site and have done its configuration, you can associate the site to a number of replication objects depending on what type of data would the site be interested in.
Hope you are now able to figure out the meaning of these MW terms and understand the relationship between them.
Please reward with points if this helps!
    Thanks,
    Sudipta.

  • Changing Replication object dependency

    Hi all,
Does anybody have experience with changing the standard replication object dependencies?
In the replication object wizard, dependecies are limited to a number of fields and bdocs.
The fields seem to be limited to the SFA-fields of the highest segment of the replication object. Anybody knows why?
The possible interlinkage bdocs are limited as well, but I can't figger out how...
One can only select a single field for a single bdoc. How is the interlinkage between the two objects made, based on a single field??
    All help is appreciated,
    Kind regards,
    Michael.

    Hi Michael,
In an intelligent dependent replication, the field will be the highest segment of the replication object only because the lookup tables will be filled with root segment filter field value. Also in an intelligent replication the root segment structure should have only one BDoc instance.
The possible interlinkage BDocs are limited and are determined only by GUIDS. As CRM model fully depends upon guids(R/3 model is against guids). That's why in CRM each table is designed with guids as the primary key.
Also one can make interlinkages via only one field of the BDoc as the Guid is very unique.  If the architecture allowed more fields then the lookup tables filling up with data will become more complicated and also the performance will go down.
    So your points are correct.
I hope this gives you some information.

  • Refresh replication objects

    Hi
I have transnational replication running successfully from one server to another.  However, we have created a few more objects on the source server subsequent to the setup of the initial replication.  What is the most effective method of including
these new objects from the source server to the subscription?
Also, we would like to remove certain objects too.  What would be the best method around this also?
    Thanks.

Considerations must be made when adding or dropping tables and/or making schema changes on the publication database.  These considerations are covered in
Add Articles to and Drop Articles from Existing Publications and
Make Schema Changes on Publication Databases.
Adding a new article involves adding the article to the publication, creating a new snapshot, and synchronizing subscriptions to apply the schema and data for the newly added articles.  Reinitialization is not required, but a new snapshot is.
Dropping an article from a publication involves dropping the articles, creating a new snapshot, and synchronizing subscriptions.  Special considerations must be made for Merge publications with parameterized filters and compatibility level lower than
    90RTM.
To add a new column to a table and include it in an existing publication, you'll need to use
ALTER TABLE <Table> ADD <Column> syntax at the publisher.  By default the schema change will be propagated to subscribers, publication property
@replicate_ddl must be set to true.
    I hope this helps.

  • Replication of a BP in CRM as a FI Vendor in ECC for Grants Management

    Hi,
We are implenting SAP CRM 7 with SAP ECC for Grants Management, integrated with FI AP (we're not using PSCD).
For BP replication we followed the next steps, however something looks it is incorrect because my BDOC still shows errors:
The middleware settings had been completed between the CRM and the ECC system.
    - Site, Suscription and replication from CRM to SAP ECC are in placed
-The next replication object are activated:
        -All Business Partners (MESG)   (BUPA_MAIN)
-All Busines Partner Relationships (MESG) (BUPA_REL)
        -All Business Transactions (MESG)
        -Grantor Program Management
Also we implemented the next steps:
    1) Define the number ranges for BP groupings in CRM: This number range would be internal in CRM and External in ECC.
CRM (IMG) -> Customer Relationship Management -> Cross-Application Components -> SAP Business Partner -> Basic Settings ->
    Number Ranges and Groupings
    2) Since the BP would be replicated as a BP in ECC we define the same number ranges in ECC too:
ERP (IMG) -> Customer Relationship Management -> Cross-Application Components -> SAP Business Partner -> Basic Settings ->
Define Groupings and Assign Number Ranges
    3) Activate the post-processing framework: (Business processes CVI_02 and CVI_04 in Component AP-MD)
    ERP (IMG) -> Cross-Application Components -> General Application Functions ->Postprocessing Office -> Business Processes->
    Activate Creation of Postprocessing Orders
    4) Activate PPO Requests for Platform Objects in the Dialog:
ERP (IMG) -> Cross-Application Components -> Master Data Synchronization -> Synchronization Control -> Synchronization
Control -> Activate PPO Requests for Platform Objects in the Dialog

  • Error while generating objects in SMOGTOTAL

    Hai All,
I tried to generate the industry specific objects in CRM through the transaction SMOGTOTAL. But when I check the status in SMWP, I found some of the objects were in errror status under replication objects per Industry and Publication objects per Industry.
When I check the log, it is showing  some error, regarding function group .
In addition to this, some of the objects were missing and is also displayed in the log as error.
Also, even If I generate the error objects using the menu, it is showing an information message as "Generated" but the status remains  unchanged.
Could you please let me know how to regenerate the error objects...
    Thanks,
    Jenibalet

    Hello Jenibalet,
You can use generation workbench using txn:GNRWB to re-generate the FMs.
Could you check txn:SMOHQUEUE?Are you getting any error there?
If yes, then you need to generate the relevant function modules s in txn:GNRWB.
You need to select the appropriate Generator Group and Repository
Object Name in txn:GNRWB and for this you would get a clue from
    errors in SMOHQUEUE.
    Hope this helps!

  • Replication from CRM to ECC and vice versa

    Hi,
I am a newbie and would really appreciate any of your advice and help. I was given a task to replicate business partner from CRM to ECC. I was advised to go through a building block in SAP Best practices for CRM called C03:CRM Master and Data Replication. I've read through the materials and found out that there are some prerequisites. Do I need to installed all of the prerequisites before I can proceed with the steps given in the building block. I hope anyone could reply to me as soon as possible.
    Regards,
    Julianna

    Hi,
Thats right! C03 best practices would be certainly helpful to you.
Few important steps for BP repllication from CRM to ECC would be
In CRM , First define your Logical destination in BD54 .
    1) SU01 Transaction to create users : create user in CRM & R/3
    2) Transaction code SM59 : Create RFC DESTINATION .. here u use the users created for reaching into R/3 from CRM
    3) transaction code: SMOEAC: ADMINISTRATION CONSOLE:-
here define Publication, subscription and site ( OLTP) , and define replication objects ( like BUPA_MAIN, BUPA_REL)
    4) define Queue: SMQR and SMQS - inbound and outbound queue /
    Que registration .
    5) check entry in R/3 side tables:- Make the proper entry into R/3 side tables in SM30
    a)CRMRFCPAR
    b)CRMPAROLTP
    c)CRMSUBTAB
    d) CRMCONSUM
These are important steps for Middleware settings between CRM & R/3
In addition to this , you need to correctly define your
    1) in CRM ,BP GROUPINGS with Internal Number range
    2) in R/3 define "Account Group" with "External Number Range" for BUSINESS PARTNER
    3) In R/3 , Mapping of CRM CLASSIFICATION with R/3 account group...e.g. Classification B for customer with ACCOUNT group of R/3
You need to also map in CRM  correctly the partner functions and R/3 Partner functions.

    PD

  • Replication of Prospects from crm to r\3

    hello Experts
is there any way to stop the replication of prospects from crm to r/3.....
we are facing a problem with out validating the prospect the prospects are replicating in r/3...
can u please help me out in this
    thanks in advance
    regards
    sreeram

Shweta is right about the PIDE setting in R/3, but this does stop only the update in R/3, not the sending of prospects towards R/3.
To do it correctly, you need to create new subscriptions for the R/3:
    1. Delete the subscription, publication and replication object on BUPA_MAIN in SMOEAC
    2. Create a new intelligent replication object with filter on IS_CUSTOMER with option EQ (which means you want only customers to be replicated). Alternatively you can create a filter on IS_PROSPECT and option NE
    3. You create the appropriate publication and subscription and assign it to the R/3 site
Now only BP's with the customer flag will get replicated (or those without the prospect flag). The customer flag will get set usually automatically with the customer role or can be manually set in the classification tab of role customer (field BPISCUST), but the prospect flag will stay if you turn the prospect into a customer.
So you need to make sure that when setting the BPISCUST flag that the BPISPROS flag is unset, when you do the alternative filtering on IS_PROSPECT (manually or in a BADI on customer save).

  • Replication of BP and Sales order from CRM to R/3

    Hello everyone,
I have a peculiar condition in my hands. The requirement is to replicate 10 business partners from crm to R/3 ,then the next 4 Business partners need not be replicated and then the next three replicated..How do we do this kind of replication....
One thing more regarding the replication of sales order. When we save a sales order in CRM,is it automatically replicated to R/3 or do we need to release it manually??
If yes, then if we do not want to replicate the sales order from crm to R/3,then what will we do?
Consider that all the middleware settings are configured and working fine..
    Puneet

    Hi Bokhal,
Please consider my answer from your recent thread dealing with apparently the same issue :
    Hi Bhokal,
For filters in uploads please consider below:
For Filtering the BP-upload, use the Administration Console
(tx. SMOEAC) in the corresponding subscription of the "All Business
Partners (MESG)" publication assigned to the R/3 site.
Some publications (and the replication objects they are based on) are
delivered as type "Simple bulk" which does not give you the opportunity
to assign criteria values for filtering.
You might have to re-create the publication. To do that:
    1) First delete the subscriptions "All Business Partners (MESG)" and its
    publications & the replication object.
    2) Recreate the replication object as type "Simple intelligent".
    3) Afterwards you can create a new publication via wizard of type
"Simple intelligent (msg)" assigned to the BDOC-Type BUPA_MAIN. Then,
you will be able to select some "filter criteria".
The reason for deleting the "old" publication is, that you
are not allowed to assign a BDOC-Type to more than one publication.
    4) But please keep in mind that there is no realignment supported. So
you should only use fields for filtering, which cannot be changed
    afterwards.
This is the "simple" solution for filtering on fields. This
will not provide complex filter criteria.
If you need this, you shall create a filter function in R/3- and/or
    CRM-Inbound and -outbound.
If you want to keep the control about the upload trigger, you can add an
additional module in transaction CRMC_BUT_CALL_FU, position > 200000.
BUPA_MWX_BDOC_BPS_FILL_CENTRAL. Within this new module, you can delete
all partners within the complex structure that you don't want to upload.
Hoping that above will be helpful.
    Best regards

  • Z table middleware replication from R/3 to CRM

Looking for a CRM Middleware Guru out there !!!
I'm trying to replicate a simple R/3 table (list of countries in my example below. The replication must include both initial and delta downloads.
    My problem is the following:
When doing an initial load using Transaction R3AS the BDOC is created correctly.
The traffic lights are green in transaction SMW01 with a status of Confirmed (fully processed).
The segments of the BDOC are populated with the correct value from R3 <b>BUT</b> <b>the table on CRM is not populated.</b>
Here is what I have done so far:
    1-Created table on R3 ZCOUNTRY
    2-Created mapping Function on R3 Z_CRS_MAP_ZCOUNTRY_BAPIMCTS
    3-Created extract Function on R3 ZCOUNTRY_EXTRACT
4-Created an entry in Table CRMSUBTAB for Function ZCOUNTRY_EXTRACT
5-Created Receiving Module in R3 Z_CRM_COUNTRY_COLLECT_DATA triggered on SM30 for the Delta Load
    6-Created table on CRM ZCOUNTRY
    7-Created Bdoc on CRM ZCOUNTR_MESG
8-Created validation Function on CRM ZCRM_ZCOUNTR_MESG_VAL
9-Add an entry in SMW3BDOCIF for BDOC ZCOUNTR_MESG and Validation Function ZCRM_ZCOUNTR_MESG_VAL
10-Created mapping Function on CRM ZMAP_COUNTRY_BAPIMTCS_TO_MBDOC
11-Created MW Adapter Object in CRM ZCRMCOUNTRY
    12-Created a replication Object on CRM ZCOUNTR_MESG
13-Created a publication on CRM ZCOUNTRY
I'm not sure why the CRM does not get populated. Could it have anything to do with "GUID" keys?
The 2 fields on my bespoke table are:
    -Country
    -Continent
In my Root Data Structure for the MBDOC do I need to add GUID as the first fields i.o.w.
    -GUID
    -Country
    -Continent
When I choose my segment fields do I choose (?):
    -GUID
    -Country
    -Continent
In my CRM Mapping function how do I populate the GUID field? (see the code below in the mapping function).  How do I get a value into lv_sfakey and does this have anything to do with the GUID mentioned above.
    MOVE lv_sfakey TO segment_line-guid.

    Hi Manoj,
I have a similar situation as you have described. However my problem is that when i start the initial load, the status in the RFC inbound queue of CRM (smq2) shows stop and the oject shows the status running. I dont know how to debug the
Validation FM and Mapping FM written for the same. Can you please explain me the meaning of the status shown in the crm queue.
    Thanks,
    Vaishali
