Reply All fails on ";" separated email addresses

I get emails from my boss in which email addresses are separated by a ";".
eg. [email protected];[email protected];[email protected]
When I try to "Reply All" from Apple Mail application, it shows an error as "Invalid email address". However on my webmail account, these addresses are recognized and converted to email addressed separated by ",".
Anyway I can over come this problem?

I do not have a separate Mac that I can access. But I created a new account on my MacBook and tried sending email with two email addresses separated by ";"
eg. [email protected];[email protected]
And Mail gave error of invalid address. Please help.

  • This morning I changed my Apple ID to my new email address.  I thought it meant that I could then use all my alias icloud email addresses with my new Apple ID because it would be the same account.  Why am I now not getting email to those addresses.

    This morning I changed my Apple ID to my new email address.  I thought it meant that I could continue to use all my alias icloud email addresses with my new Apple ID because it would be the same account.  Since then I have not received and new emails to my iCloud email addresses.  Normally I get at least  7 new emails a day, so I'm pretty sure my iCloud addresses are not working.  It would be a lot of work for me to notify a lot of people, companies, and organizations about new email addresses, so I really would like to make them work.  Will it be possible to make them work with my new Apple ID?

    Roger, I didn't know that "Delete Account" was synonymous with "log out".  Yes, I had deleted my iCloud account in my iPad email settings more than once yesterday and again one more time after I read your reply.  I then followed the instructions below to log off on my Windows PC.  I found these when I searched for how to log off of iCould:
    1- Go to www.iCloud.com
    2- Sign in with your current login info
    3- Click on your user name on top right corner
    4- Select account setting
    5- Select "Advanced."
    6- Click 2nd option, "Sign Out Of All Browsers."
    I also scanned settings for all the other apps on my iPad and changed a couple that still had my old sbcglobal email address. Later, I noticed that I was able to see my old previous iCloud emails in iCloud.com, and the couple of messages that I received from this Support Community site, but still no new emails.  Suddenly the emails started rolling in again this morning.  I have 7 new ones at the moment.  I sort of expected to get a backlog of emails from yesterday, but something tells me those were all lost as "undeliverable".  I don't know who or exactly what did the trick, but the issue seems to be fixed.  I'm using my new Apple ID, and I'm glad I don't have to get all new iCloud alias email addresses after all.

  • Wrong reply from, when using multiple email addresses

    Apple Mail has this strange behavior. Maybe it is a bug.
    I have 3 email addresses in Mail: [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected]
    [email protected] is my primary email address, the other ones are from my co-workers.
    Sometimes I get an email with my email address (among others) in the CC field and the other two in the TO field. When I press the Reply All button, Mail generates a new message. But instead of sending it from the [email protected] account, it tries to send it from the first email account what it found in the TO field of the original message. And it does not reply to any of the email addresses in the CC field of the original message.
    I tried this with different domains. Same result. Tried it by forcing Mail sending mail from my account only. Same result.
    What is going on here? Is it a bug?

    Normally mail would create a new email using the top email address in your list of accounts. For example, in in preferences you accounts are listed like this:
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    then normally new messages would be sent from the top email address.

  • HT5312 I forgot the answers for my security questions, now I can't get into my AppleID. All because my rescue email address has been deactivated due to inactivity. Now what?

    Here is some bad luck.
    I forgot the answers for my security questions. I want to buy an app in the app store but Apple keeps asking me these questions I can't remember the answers to. All because my rescue email address has been deactivated due to inactivity. Now what?
    I tried to create my old email address again, but funny enough it told me that specific email address was already taken....

    You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

  • UTL_MAIL does not take comma separated email addresses

    Hi, there,
    I tried email multiple email addresses through UTL_MAIL, but ran into the following error:

    end;

    *Cause:    A SMTP permanent error occurred.
    *Action:   Correct the error and retry the SMTP operation.
    However, I checked the Oracle UTL_MAIL reference at:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B12037_01/appdev.101/b10802/u_mail.htm#996885
    When it comes to 'recipients' parameter, it reads:
    The email addresses of the recipient(s), separated by commas.
    As you can see in my source code, I did use comma to separate the two email addresses. So what's wrong?
    The configuration of UTL_MAIL has been done. In fact, I can use UTL_MAIL to send email to any single email address.
    Thanks!

    ORA-29279: SMTP permanent error: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relayThis error means that you are specifying an e-mail address that the server refuses to accept, as it would have to relay (forward) the mail message to that domain.
    This is a counter spam measure. Open relay means that the SMTP server accepts mail delivery on behalf of any domain. Which means it can be used to send millions of e-mails to 100's of 1000's of domains.. and this SMTP server will happily accept the mail and deliver it to all these domains. (see http://www.eudora.com/techsupport/kb/1593hq.html for a complete description).
    Today, an open SMTP relay will get you blacklisted/blackholed - meaning that no domain (subscribing to these lists) will accept mail from your SMTP server's domain.
    Have a chat to your mail admin. Your code/data is violating some or other relay rule.

  • REPLY-ALL dropping my other email account

    Hi There - I have three mail accounts that I check with Apple Mail. One is a mailbox that I check sometimes because it belongs to my part-time project manager. If she is not working, I need to check it.
    If someone emails me and my Project Manager, and then I reply all, her email is removed. I assume it's because Apple Mail thinks I don't want to send an email to myself. But I do.
    I don't, however, want her on every email that I send out.
    Can this be changed?

    With such an email distribution list, when you Reply All, Mail will choose the account from the list that appears first in the list of account (when seen in the Sidebar or Preferences) as the From and will not copy the other email address also found in the Mail accounts.
    Not a way around, that I can find.

  • 'reply' sends from the wrong email address

    when replying to messages from accounts which are using a shared inbox, thunderbird automatically tries to use the main email for the shared inbox rather than the receiving address. Its becoming very annoying.
    I assume this is a bug which needs patching?

    version 31.1.1
    I never had this problem with any previous versions.

  • SMTP fails to recognize email address

    Hi there,
    i'm having a tough and irritating problem: when i create Transport from the Session in tomcat's (v 5.5) context, i get the following Exception:
    SMTPAddressFailedException: 550 5.1.1 Bad destination mailbox address ([email protected])
    i went google but with no success as well as nothing in java forums..
    Interesting thing is that on my localhost it works fine, but when uploaded to remote server it fails (context.xml has the same settings). Here is my code:
    Context initCtx = new InitialContext();
                   Context envCtx = (Context) initCtx.lookup("java:comp/env");
                   Session session = (Session) envCtx.lookup("mail/Session");
                   System.out.println(session.getProperty("mail.smtp.auth"));
                   Message message = new SMTPMessage(session);
                   message.setFrom(new InternetAddress(from));
                   message.addRecipient(javax.mail.Message.RecipientType.TO, new InternetAddress(to.trim()));
                   message.setSubject(subject);
                   message.setContent(text, "text/plain;charset=windows-1257");
                   Transport service = session.getTransport("smtp");
                   service.connect();
                   message.saveChanges();
                   service.sendMessage(message, message.getRecipients(Message.RecipientType.TO));
                   service.close();
    .. and context.xml for application:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <Context
    reloadable="true"
    workDir="......">
    <Resource
    name="mail/Session"
    type="javax.mail.Session"
    mail.smtp.host="mail.takas.lt" mail.debug="true"/>
    </Context>
    Any help, please?? Would appreciate it alot.
    Ramunas

    i guess that is not a problem, because the deny comes from the smtp server for recipient address which is correct, eventhough the sender (From) email is incorrect and mail server accepts it. Here's some debug output, maybe it could help?
    MAIL FROM:<[email protected]>
    250 2.1.0 [email protected]...Sender OK
    RCPT TO:<[email protected]>
    550 5.1.1 Bad destination mailbox address ([email protected]).
    DEBUG SMTP: Invalid Addresses
    DEBUG SMTP: [email protected]
    DEBUG SMTP: Sending failed because of invalid destination addresses
    RSET
    250 2.0.0 Resetting
    javax.mail.SendFailedException: Invalid Addresses;
    nested exception is:
    class com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPAddressFailedException: 550 5.1.1 Bad destination mailbox address
    the code 550 is response from smtp host, not the remote pc..

  • HT1689 can i use imessage if all 4 iphones on my itunes account all use the same email address

    can i use imessage if all 4 of my family's iphones use the same i tunes account?

    Hello, gio4360.
    Thank you for the question.  It is common for people share an Apple ID for the iTunes and App Store.  However, it is recommended that you use a separate Apple ID specifically for iMessage, Facetime and iCloud.  The reason for this is because anyone that shares the same Apple ID for iMessage will receive all iMessages.

  • Mail.app 6.0 - reply all now cc's my email address - fix?

    I just upgraded to Mountain Lion last night. I started using Mail and now anytime I reply all it copies my email address.

    Same problem here. I also have "Automatically cc myself UNCHECKED.

  • Address removed from Reply All

    This is the reverse problem that a lot of folks have with Reply All adding their own email address into the thread. My issue is the opposite. I've added a second account to Mail, and when I Reply All to something sent to that address that was also addressed to my original enabled address in Mail, my original address is removed from the CC. I've tested on Yosemite and Mavericks Mail, and same result. Reply All seems to by default remove the address of your other enabled mail accounts from that thread. I see no way or setting to override this and find it very frustrating as I need that original address included in the conversation and for fut.

    Florian,
    You haven't missed anything -- it is a "feature" of Mail! Seriously, I have tested it, and sometimes I have seen it pick a second address (when two of my addresses are in the To) as the From when clicking on Reply on the same computer. The latter behavior is based upon the hierarchy of appear in the Sidebar, as best I can remember.

  • Reply-all removes my second pop account from recipients

    Hi All,
    I use Mail with two POP accounts (mine and my wife's). If somebody sends an email to both me and my wife, when I try to Reply-All, my wife's email address is strangely removed from the recipients.
    Same behavior if my wife does the reply-all, then my email address is stripped from the recipients list.
    Any option I may miss ?
    thanks for your help.

  • Reply all to exclude sender

    outlook 2013 being used on two computers - one has pop3 and the other is to exchange. Both computers have primary email address set correctly but on doing a reply-all, it includes my email address and I have to manually remove. How do I avoid this?
    Thx

    This issue may happen if one of the following conditions is true:
    1. Wrong Reply E-mail is set under File > Account Settings > Account Settings > More Settings > General tab.
    2. For Exchange account, Outlook is using the x500 address instead of the SMTP address.
    3. You have one or more contacts in Outlook for your own GAL entry and one contains the wrong address. Outlook is resolving to the copy in your Contacts, not the GAL.
    In each of these situations, the From address is different than the account address so Outlook included it in the Reply to all.
