Reply all includes my email address as CC.

Reply all includes my email address as CC. when reply to an email from a user created mailbox but not from the main Inbox. How do you stop this?

Same here. I have three seperate mail accounts and when I reply to the emails within their respective inboxes everything is fine. But if its a message that is moved out of the inbox because a rule has been applied, then all bets are off. If I reply to one of those messages it cc's me and does not "Send from the Account of the selected mailbox.

Apple Mail in Yosmite includes my own email address when I reply to all.
I can't remember Mavericks or before used to do this.
Anyway, is there a way to turn this off?

In Mail, when using "reply all" why does Mail automatically include my email address in the cc line? Whey would I want to include my email address in an email I am sending.? Anybody have any idea how to stop Mail from including my email address in the cc line when using "reply all"?

Automatically cc myself is not checked.  I did find out that if you have multiple email address that all of them need to be associated with "My Contact" tab.  Thanks

  • HT2486 How can I send an email to all of the email addresses associated with one contact? Similarly, in regard to group lists, how do you include for distribution all email addresses associated with each contact in the group?

Often times there are multiple email addresses associated with a single contact in address book.  How can I included all of these email addresses when creating an address book group?

    Don't be surprised.
Apple offers free, basic Mail and Address Book apps and creates paid, more sophisticated solutions, also allowing Developers to provide more sophisticated solutions for sale in the marketplace.
When I need to repeatedly email to multiple contacts, I create a blank draft email, and use the Address Book button to list the appropriate address book group. With the Address Book window open, it's easy to click to add multiple email addresses for a single contact name. Each is added to the message email address list. Then I save that blank email to iCloud Drafts, and it retains the email addreses I've entered. Next time I need to send a message I double-click on it in Drafts to open it, and drag it to one of my other email accounts to add Subject and details, then send from the other account.

  • Reply all includes me

Since the latest update to the operating system, whenever I 'reply all' to an email, my address is also included in the cc field.  I want to eliminate this.  How can I do that?

Strangely, I've noticed this in previous OS X versions, but not in Mountain Lion's Mail - which I'm quite happy about because it did bother me in previous systems.
I just checked, and indeed, I am not included when I "reply all".
Well, then I did a clean install of ML. I'm not suggesting you should do so, too, but could it be that you have left-over preferences from Lion or SL, depending on how your ML was installed? If so, you may want to trash Mail's preferences to see if it helps. You'll need to set the prefs again, and probably also mail accounts, but it might help, indeed.

  • Reply All Inserts my Email

When I reply all using my iphone it always includes my email address. I do not what to email myself. The setting to BCC myself is turned off and it adds my email address to the CC field.
Any ideas on how to remove my email address from the CC field when reply all is selected

One thing that might help out.
When tapping reply all on an email in the iphone, it sets to reply to the sender and all recipients.
In order to remove your email address, you would need to scroll up the message and remove your email address.
Here is an article from the apple support website that might help out.

  • Reply mails has incorrect email addresses

For some reason my Mail will freak out every now and then.
I will open a reply email and all the CC email addresses are incorrect. They will be other contacts from my address book but not ones that someone that was on the chain of emails. I'll quit mail and restart and everything is back to normal.
For example, an email has been going back and forth btw me and my bandmates, Gary, Glen and Dave yet when I got the email back this last time it said Ira, PJ and AJ. I quit mail and Gary, Glen and Dave appeared in the CC field.
    How can I fix this?

    I'm observing similar undesired behaviour:
    1) An incoming e-mail addressed to me was presented with another person's name from my address book. Examination of the full message header showed nothing unexpected.
    2) composing an e-mail cc'd to a number of persons resulted in one name being presented with another person's name from my address book ... The incorrect name did not have an e-nail address assigned!
I've noted this problem in 10.6.1 and 10.6.2 and is not corrected by performing a mailbox rebuild.
Issue 1 disappeared upon restarting Mail.
Issue 2 appears to more persistent.
This may only be a presentation issue in Mail but I cannot confirm this.

  • Apparently when I send to a Group of Contacts they can all see every email address and this is not acceptable how do I avoid that

I need to send to a group of about 50 parents. Their addresses are held in a Group of Contacts. I highlight the group name to distribute a message to all of them and what I am being told is that they can then all see every email address. This is not acceptable as many do not want their email address being made public in this way. Surely this should not happen or at least there should be a way to avoid it.

re: and I quote "they can then all see every email address. This is not acceptable "
I showed you the basic method of sending a group as Bcc - which is what you initially asked for.
As you now specify that not only do you want to know how to use Bcc but every email needs to be personalised - not just distributing a message to all of them, then I would agree with Matt and advise you use Mail Merge. This creates separate emails - not a bulk email to several recipients, so using a TO field will only send to that person - other people will not see other email addresses.
    Matt has offered the link.
Here is some more info regarding Mail Merge.
    '''How to install Add-ons:'''
download the .xpi file to your computer eg: desktop or downloads folder.
    In Thunderbird
    'Tools' > 'Add-ons' OR 'Menu Icon' > 'Add-ons'
click on the gear wheel icon and select 'Install addon from file'
see first image below as aid.
locate the file you downloaded and click on 'Open'
You may need to restart Thunderbird.
Mail Merge will appear in the list.
    see second image below.
'''How to set up a Template emails for Mail Merge:'''
Create a Template email, which contains the 'personalised' sections.
see example - third image below.
I set the Subject as 'Mail Merge' so it is easily identifiable.
Save it as a Template email.
It will get stored in the 'Templates' folder. If you do not see a Templates folder, this is auto created when you create the first email and store as template.
'''When you want to use Mail Merge.'''
    Select the Template folder.
    Select the 'Mail Merge' template
either double click on the email in the list or right click on email and select 'Edit as new message'
you can then change the Subject and compose or edit the message - but do not change the sections in the curly brackets - the point of saving this as a template saves you from typing it each time.
'File ' > 'Mail Merge' (see third image)
This will open a new small window
    see the fourth image below.
I would suggest you use 'Send Later' option . this will put all the emails in your Outbox, but it does allow you to check the email is correct - or do spot checks. Then you can choose to send them all in one go.
Right click on 'Outbox' folder and select 'Send unsent messages'.
    Hope this info helps you.
As you are new to Thunderbird, you may or maynot have managed to locate all your toolbars.
The fifth image shows you how to enable all toolbars to make life much easier.
In addition some very useful info on maintaining a healthy Thunderbird and all about compacting- what it does and why it is important.

  • Including an email address on a web page without it being harvested for spam

As per the title really - anyone know of a method of including an email address on a web page without it being picked up by spam bots?
Usually if i want to avoid that, I just do a little form with a honey trap, but I'm working on a page that needs contact details for around 100 places, so doing 100 odd forms for a single page might be a little impractical.... Thanks.

    Impossible.

Run it inside a script that parses an XML file based on the link's ID - one script, many links, no directly visible mail addresses (though, of course bots can still parse the XML file itself, if not in a hidden directory or something liek that).

I have 2 .mac email accounts, one of them has a sub-address. Can I keep all 3 .mac email addresses in iCloud?

You will need to migrate each account seperately using the Move website, the alias will also be migrated to iCloud with whichever account it is under (the only problem with aliases, occurs when you have more than 3 in an account)
When you log into iCloud on the computer running Lion, iCloud will update your mail accounts for you, on the computers running Snow Leopard you will have to set up the mail accounts manually. Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.
Some users have apparently encountered issues using this information in pre-Lion set ups (I haven't), Roger Wilmut has kindly provided instructions for those who find themselves with this problem.
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Snow Leopard or Leopard
You won't be able to use your iCloud contacts and calendars on the computers running snow leopard with Address book and iCal, but can access them from the web interface at iCloud.com

  • How to make Reply (all), to an email I sent, to be sent from same account as the original email?

I have a number of Email accounts configured, all of them as pop mail. And, they are all configured to use the same Inbox and Send folders, Thrashbin etc. They are all correctly configured with the appropriate Sender and Reply to-address.
My problem, has started occuring, I think, after I exchanged my default and some of my email accounts.
Sometimes I need to reuse a message that I have sent, to fill in some details, or whatever.
Typically I open an Email from the Sent folder, remove my own email from the distribution list, add some more text
and resend the message to the original recipients.
What I want, is for the new message to be sent from the same sender address as the original email.
But, since I changed my default account, the new email created by opening an email from the Sent folder
and clicking Reply or Reply all, now gets a different Sender and Reply to - address.
And this means I have to remember to edit the Sender address.
I seem to get this problem regardless of whether I do Forward, Reply or Reply all, to create a new Email from the old one I sent.
This is really a nuisance since I keep forgetting to do this, and it takes extra time and effort for something that used to be quick and easy.
How can I make Thunderbird include the correct Sender address, (the one that I sent the original email from) when doing this, without my having to change it manually each time?
The address Thunderbird chooses is not even my Default email address, but the first account that appears after the Default account in the list of accounts, at least that is what it seems like. I have tried to find a way to reorder the accounts, but I have not been able to find that.
Is there a way to reorder the accounts?
Would it help if I recreated the accounts so the one I use as default becomes the oldest one? But that, would help only for the default account, and the other accounts would still have the same problem, I assume?
I could live with this, since the default account is the default account for a reason.
Would it help, if I separated the different accounts, into different folders?
Or is there a setting to configure how Thunderbird does this, or even have it ask every time I create a new email from the Sent folder?
Each one of the accounts, is configured with the appropriate smtp server settings, (probably irrelevant for this problem).

Good suggestion. It gets rid of the "mailto:", but I have to remove the space after dragging the clip into the user name box. Interestingly, I can open the clip with TextWrangler, remove the space, and save it as a clip. However, the clip, as a clip, still has the space! When I open it again in TextWrangler, the space is gone, but still appears when I drag the clip or open it in the Finder. So not quite a cigar. But definitely useful.
So the question remains, where is a clip's data stored? Is it editable? If so, how? If not, why not?

  • When I "Reply All" on an email, it gets sent to me also

In any email program I have ever used, including the iPhone and Apple Mail on the Mac, when you click "Reply All", it takes your own email out of the reply list so you don't get a copy of the email you are replying to. But my iPad isn't doing that. Unless I manually take my address out, when I do a "Reply All", it includes my name in the reply and I get the email in both my Sent folder and Inbox.
I've looked for an option to disable this, but can't find one. Frankly, I've never seen an option to turn this kind of thing off and on. It's basically just doesn't happen and you can't change. But with my iPad, it basically does happen and it appears you can't change that behavior.
Any clues? If this is the way it works, this has to be a bug and not a design flaw. Thanks.

The company uses one email address as our default name for Exchange accounts, but people can send me emails with slightly different aliases: [email protected], [email protected] etc. If I reply to emails that reached me through one of these aliases, Mail does not recognize that all these addresses are actually mine. Therefore, when I "reply all", I end up on the CC list. I wonder if you have a similar problem.
I am not sure how that works on an iPad, but on Mac Mail program, I can add additional email addresses in Preferences -> Accounts -> "Account Information" tab -> "Email Address" entry, separated by one comma and a space each. This prevents Mail from replying to myself.

  • How do I use my iCloud vacation responder for all of my email addresses that feed into my iCloud account?

I have 3 email addresses that feed email into my iCloud account. I am going on vacation and would like my auto-responded to reply to ALL of the incoming emails in my account.
When I test the vacation preference, it only automatically replies to me @me or @icloud emails.
    Please help

Alternatively most email providers allow you to set forwarding, so you could forward messages to the iCloud address, remembering to undo the forwarding when you get back. There is usually an option to leave the messages on the server as well, and I should take that.
Of course the vacation response will come from the iCloud address, which might confuse your recipients, but it's a workable alternative if the other email accounts don't provide a vacation response.

  • Always reply using the same email address?

Let's say my Mail app is set up with three email accounts - one on Gmail, one on AOL, and one on my private domain name. All mail is received on a regular basis and it's fine, but what if I want EVERY response - no matter what account it was received in - to come from the same email address? I know I can set the "From" address in the pop-up list when composing the reply (or creating a new message), but what if I don't want the "From" pop-up list and I want EVERY reply to come from ONE address? Is this possible?

no. if you want something like this you may want to rearrange how your mail is received. you can set the other two accounts to automatically forward mail to the account you want to send from and only set up that one account in Mail.
